Sure they seem to look as like a kiosk off to the side near the sitting area next to the escalators and they give their minute back massages out their with wailing children but they're amazing, local, experts in their craft. Don't be confused if you don't see someone at the kiosk outside. You can simply walk in to the hallway turn the corner and enter through their - there will be someone waiting for you. The staff there are really nice and knowledgable and very down to earth. Shari and Cassy are fantastic people. I come here to get my European Facials by Liliane. The sweetest, nicest, detailed, hard working and all around amazing human. She honestly extends her time with me because she's a perfectionist and loves what she does! I'm a 100lb girl working as an audio/visual tech which means carrying heavy equipment sometimes and the night before I visited this place really took a toll on my body. I was in pain after my night shift and needed a massage PRONTO. I was actually looking for a nail salon first but came across this and LET ME TELL YOU, this place was a blessing hahahaha They have $1/minute chair massages! It's not right in the middle of the walkway of a mall which is good because a lot of chair massages are. It's in a cozy little corner right outside their actual place in front of GameStop. Sure you can still here people who pass by and kids running around but they do their best to make you feel relaxed. They have their music playing in the little corner. They also have full services inside and you can make appointments. We actually plan on coming back to do full body massages! My massage was very rushed and all over the place. This lady spent almost half an hour on two sides of my back...to the point where I ended up walking out even more sore, and instantly bruised. I asked for concentration to my mid and lower back, and where she was the entire time was on my upper. She also would spend more time on one leg, then the next was a quick rub. I left feeling very uneven. Also when it came time to rub off the lotion, she was basically scrubbing and pinching me. It was so sore! It was like pinching all my skin and idk why. And then she tried to stretch out my neck by putting a towel around my face and moving the towel. My entire head was getting whiplashed out of control, I felt like my neck was going to break! On the form they ask you what you expect out of the session...I put to relax and leave in less pain. I cant believe I spent money to walk out soo disappointed and in more pain. The waiting room is super small, no room for anyone pretty much. And they also hover over you. I went to the bathroom before the session, and she followed me there and waited outside. Then when I was getting dressed afterward, I opened the door and she was standing right outside too. Kinda awkward. Sometimes you walk into a new spa, it is like playing roulette in vegas. You never know what you are going to get. The spa at the pearlridge uptown is not consistently a winner, but I did have an amazing experience with Sam. His caring and professional attitude make him a great masseuse. Been here a couple times and have always gone to Jherold. Personally, I prefer medium to firm pressure, but at the same time, a relaxing massage. Had some serious doubts about being able to relax for a chair massage in the middle of a busy mall, but this place (specifically my masseuse, Angie!) is great! I booked and paid for an appointment, found child care, drove 30 mins to the appointment only to find out the appointment was paid for but not booked? And the person who was scheduled on my end through their website had already left for the day. The receptionist barely apologized and offered to book my appointment for another day or refund me... neither of which in my opinion were a good enough solution. I have been going to Body & Mind Spa for quite a few years and I've always had great service. From the girls behind the counter to my massage professional, Yukiko. Today was the first time that I encountered a rude, unprofessional person named Danniella. I made 2 reservations online on Sept. 4 and Sept 6., each was for 60 minutes deep tissue massage for Tuesday Sept 12 at 12pm to 1pm and Sept 28th for 90 minutes from 10am to 1130am. Unfortunately I had to cancel both reservations as I was leaving for a trip. I canceled both reservations on Friday Sept 8 for Tuesday Sept 12 and Thursday Sept 28th. The following week I checked to see if my credit card was credited, it was not. Today , 1 week later I called Body & Mind Spa and was told that the person who handles the refunds was not in yet but they will be sure to give her my number to call me . I finally called back 3 hours later and was told that Daniella would not be in today. I asked if I could reach her and was given another number. I called and left a message for her to call me . Daniella called and was very rude and unprofessional. She told me in a sassy tone that this was the 1st time she heard that I wanted a refund and I told her what happens when people pay then cancel? Don't you refund their cc and she said no, that I need to call them and request a refund?? I explained that I read the refund policy and it didn't say that. European Express Facial - Fumiyo was awesome! Very sweet lady with a gentle touch. The products she used smelled good and she always explained what she was putting on my face and what she was doing. She also recommended other services based on my skin type but never was a pushy salesman. I was in total relaxation for 45 minutes and if I could, I would do it every week! We've been here before and never had any issues. So we were looking forward to getting massages on Sunday at 4pm. I was trying to make the appointments online on Saturday but decided to call instead. The girl was really nice and helped to make 2 appointments, one for me and one for my husband. She asked if 2 separate rooms would be okay. I said sure. So she made 2 appointments for Sunday at 4pm. I said 4? She said yes. I put a reminder in my phone. Fast forward to 3:06 on Sunday. I get a call from body and mind asking if we were keeping our appointments. I'm like yes it's at 4. She said in our computer it says 3. I'm like no, the girl said 4. So she says let me check, and comes back and says sorry it says 3, do you want to reschedule? I'm like what do you have a available. She says nothing today, how about tomorrow. I said never mind and hung up. We were looking forward to getting massages today. My husband has been having shoulder issues and was so looking forward to this massage. Needless to say we were so disappointed and irritated. Won't be back there anytime soon. Get a system that will text a reminder so that the customer would know if the appointment is at a different time that was given. Want a story? Read below if you dare! So I was trying to find a place to use my Spafinder certificate and I ended up here because of the location and affordability. I got the coffee body wrap and and essential facial. I was pretty stoked, since the place looked chic and modern and yelpers gave some good reviews..... *Breath* Got in about 10 minutes early and quickly filled out an intake form (I swear its longer than a Dr's office form, lol) But that's promising, right? So they can better serve your problem areas, etc.... My esthetician was Lilaine (Sp?) She was really nice, and if I could, I'd giver her 5 stars for being friendly and nice. But my service was just too much to overlook: We started with a body wrap. I've never done a body wrap before so I wasn't sure what to expect. No problem with getting naked, as I've gotten massages and the like before, but I was told to take off all my clothes and put on a disposable underwear--no explanation first as to what she was going to do. Red flag #1 there. So Im 3/4 in the buff and she starts "exfoliating" me, which consisted of a warm towel being scraped over my body. She kept going back and forth to the sink to rinse the towel too. Then she lathered me in the coffee salve. Its grainy and smells like coffee. That fine, but its cold, and paired with the a/c room, too cold. She then wraps me up in saran wrap-like covers and then further wraps me in a tarp (the blue ones you cover outside things with...eh.) I am left alone for 20 min to ponder my decision to be here. The person next "wall" to me keeps my thoughts close, as I can hear which massage modality is being administered to her by her therapist. *sigh* 20 mins pass and this is where the fun starts: She unwraps me and I think, where the f*** am i going to rinse off? She proceeds to get a warm, wet towel (perhaps the same one used to exfoliate?) and wipes the salve off. This process of wipe. Sink. Rinse. Repeat. Goes on for about 15 min. As you can imagine, being wrapped up, salve has gotten into my funny parts and the therapist wipes dangerously in these areas. Not cool. So after I am wiped and dried, she proceeds to do my express facial. Its ok, I guess...the chemicals smell really strong (I like my facial at Laka WAYYY more. ) Her hands don't feel soothing, like she wants to be there. She just applies the cleansers in a hurry, and extracts like there's no tomorrow. About 1.5, 2 hours later I am done. I tipped her 18% of the total services because its etiquette, but that is definitely the first and last 18% tip they'll see from me. Sorry. read more

I waited so long to use my Spafinder gift certificates I had gotten for Christmas. I figured I would go there and check out their newly renovated space. My star is mostly for the new space. But as for the facial I got.....I wish I had used my gift certificates somewhere else. : ( I was scheduled with Liliane (sp?). I arrived a little early but they accommodated me about 15 minutes before my scheduled time so I guess half of my one star is for that. I don't get facials that often so when I do get one, I look forward to being extremely relaxed and maybe even get a little sleep. I have a 6 month old so I'll get the sleep anywhere I can. On to the facial experience or should I say facial assault. I noted on my form that I use a cleanser and moisturizer. She analyzed my skin and asked me about my routine. When I told her I didn't use moisturizer everyday, she sarcastically laughed and told me I SHOULD be using moisturizer everyday. It was just the way she said it that turned me off. I know my skin isn't perfect but there is a nicer way to tell me that. I was soooo ready to relax but her technique was anything but. She basically slapped cleansers and lotions onto my face. Did the most mediocre job with my head, shoulder and hand massage. The "facial massage" part - which is like the main part of a facial was even more mediocre. I felt like she was rushing to get through. I was not relaxed at all and very disappointed with the experience. Basically, it sucked! I think IF I ever go there again, I will request another esthetician named Ashley. I saw her last year for an arm wax and she was so sweet and that was a way more relaxing experience than my facial. Even though it was just an arm wax, she took the time to make sure she got everything and did an awesome hand and arm massage. I did initially request her but they told me she only works on Mondays. I've only gone one other place for massage, and I like this place a lot better. Located in the uptown side of Pearlridge, this is the place the BF and I go for massage. And we go for the couples hour massage, because we like each other's company so much (hahahahaha). We usually can get an appointment in the same day if you call early enough in the day and during a weekday. The staff are friendly, and we aren't particular with our masseuses. Some are definitely better than others. One guy told me that I should come back more often due to my horrible back (I got a lot of stress kk?!?!?!), at least they are honest. Waiting to make the big bucks to explore the other spa options, and perhaps the chiropractic work?? My back needs a good massage right now!! The ambiance is soothing. There are individual rooms with relaxing sounds and comfy tables. But the place is small, you can hear the doors, and the back is friggen cold without your clothes on!! Sigh, details, details.... The price, is decent for a spa center. For the two of us I believe it comes out to about $150 (rounding, because I never foot the bill....) for a 60 minute couples massage. Oh and a couples massage is just that, you go into a room with 2 tables instead of 1 and 2 therapists work on you at the same time. They don't talk and its dark, so I just doze off--which I like very much. I don't want to be chatty when someone is rubbing me down now you hear?? I would probably only come here if I REALLY needed a massage. The time I came was great because I was a walk in. The receptionist side of it was lacking in service. Not the friendliest or helpful but okay. The masseuse was super nice but at the same time seeming like he needed to get in and out. The place is actually really nice for such a small cramped location. i liked the bathroom too. The thing about this place is that it's def not the full spa experience and you feel more rushed than usual. I don't think they try to.. you just do. The prices are actually good for being at a mall. Feb. 29th I had a massage done here; I've been to many spa's and honestly I really liked my service here. My massage therapist (Angie Capili) was really good, nice & gentle. You're probably wondering why I rated them 3 stars? When I went into the office, it felt a little warm in there. Angie brought me into the room to remove my garment & what not & lay under the sheet. When she came back in to start on me she started to apologize that the a/c was broken and that she'd leave the door slightly open (which was very uncomfortable) Honestly, I wished they informed me this before my appt or at least asked me if I wanted to reschedule. It was SOOO HOT I felt like I was in a sauna within 10 mins of my massage; mind you my appt was 1hr long & I was literally sweating my a** off. She should've used cold towels instead of warm towels. I could go in, get pampered and walk out feeling refreshed. The place is nicely decorated and the rooms make you instantly feel relaxed with the warm colors on the wall. My Siam foot massage and full body massage was done by Stella. She was wonderful! She paid attention to the form I filled out and she really work on my problem areas. She was very quiet in keeping with the relaxing atmosphere. When she needed to instruct me to turn over or explain what she was going to do she spoke softly so as to not disturb the vibes. I always call in for a massage late in the day, and this place is always very accommodating. I only go to Bobby, she is probably the smallest masseuse you've ever seen, but she's strong- don't let her small size fool you. I advise everyone that gets a massage from Bobby to make sure it is no less than an hour, anything less is not enough, anything longer requires a designated driver to take you home. Trust me, she's that good. Bobby incorporates massage and stretching into her services, which is a huge relief on my neck, shoulders, legs, and arms. Came in today with my hubby. Made an appointment 4 days prior which is a must because they are always booked. I had Erwin! He is the truth. We got the couples massage for 30 mins and was $40 each. We also added the back and neck steam with Toxin relief oil for 15 mins, $15 extra. Before you get situated, they give you a survey/questionnaire for their database which is a plus. I do hair so sometimes my hands and feet are in pain and when Erwin got thru with me, he took the monkey off my back I will be coming back once a month and get more than a 45 minute service If you ever decide to go, ask for Erwin. The spa is clean, the receptionist I enountered when I first got there was very friendly. I was a walk in and they still saw me. I was brought back to a room and I was given a massage. The man that did my massage was very good, I just had to keep telling him to ease up on the pressure. During my massage I guess my necklace came loose and it was lost. The staff all looked for it, and we never found it! When I left, the receptionist was a bit cold towards me, I expected her to be a bit more nicer because of the reception I got when I first got there. It was WAY overpriced. My MoM & I was in an accident last month And we both got severe pain in our lower back, shoulders and neck. Dr. Howard Tang is a very good chiropractor and really cares about our well being. He is helping us a lot to get better. Thank you for that. My massage therapist, Erwin & Shawn are also really good , well trained and know what they are doing. They can give deep tissue massage which I really like. They also use hot towels. (Don't use on me). They seen to be always busy and yet they always get us in for our appointment. I just got home from a massage from Bobby and like Gabriella mentioned she is amazing!!! She knew what areas needed to be worked on and hit them with the right amount of pressure. She also incorporates stretches with her massages as well. I only got the 30 min massage from her but it was amazing and felt like it was over and hour. She was also very informative and told me what stretches I should do before going to bed, and throughout the day, to relieve some of the tension in my neck and shoulders. The last time I received a 30 min massage it was strictly for my shoulders and back. However, a 30 minute massage with Bobby is a full body massage! She told me that she likes providing a very balanced massage and sometimes problems with the neck and shoulders are because of your legs and feet. The renovations are really nice. The place is neat and clean. The receptionist was very nice. I'm also planning a spa day for my boyfriend on his birthday and she was very informative when I asked questions regarding their spa packages. At one point she even went behind the desk to get a calculator so she can calculate prices for any add-ons. The only downfall is that the walls are rather thin. I could hear conversations from the other room as well as renovations being down for their other room. It was actually a present for my fiancee and I so we decided to book a couples massage. I am 4 months pregnant and received a prenatal massage with light pressure, which I normally prefer. My fiancee on the other hand works out so the heavier the pressure the better. It was a very relaxing massage for us and we both left with a feeling of serenity and balance. Mom was gifted a massage, this was the first time she's ever received one by a non-family, professional one. So I figured I'd go too. She had an appointment, I did not but luckily someone was available. Mom went into a private room while I chose to sit in the massage chair in the outter salon. I told the guy that I like deep tissue so that's what I received. I only did 30 minutes but boy did it feel good and I was nice and relaxed afterwards! Mom came out of the room and said her massage was very good as well. We were given a cup of water to flush out the toxins. I found it strange the one reviewer felt pressured to give a tip even though her certificate included one already. Tip never even came up with our appointments. Anyway, you assume correctly that I suffer from a lot of neck and back discomfort. I'm a sucker for massages, especially spur-of-the-moment chair massages! My boyfriend and I decided to give Body & Mind Spa a chance while we were walking through Pearl Ridge one late night. The place itself is a dream! Even while located in the middle of a busy shopping mall, it still gives off a relaxing, spa-like vibe. I love the aromatherapy scents that linger throughout the spa. As an fyi, Body & Mind spa is located on the 2nd floor of Pearl Ridge Uptown, right next to Bath & Body Works. I've yet to opt for the full-body massage, but so far I've gotten about three 30-minute chair massages - ladies, beware, your hair and makeup WILL be all hashed up by the end! But it's all worth it in the end, I swear - and all of the times I've had an appointment, I never left feeling disappointed! So far, my favorite masseuse is Samuel. He's only there a few times a week, so it's hard to catch him, but he definitely knows how to work out those tough knots to have you feeling "brand new" by the end of your appointment. *heart eyes* What keeps me coming back is their prices - they're affordable! For a half-hour chair massage, I believe I pay $30, coming out to about $1/min. Be sure to make an appointment ahead of time as they book up pretty fast. Seemed like the lady who had spoke with us was afraid to do my daughters eyebrows. She repeatedly told my daughter that waxing her eyebrows is going to be really sore no matter what. Tried convincing her to just go have them plucked or go next door to do threading. My daughter knew what she was going there for and I had explained to her that it will be sore. Seemed like she wouldn't have been comfortable doing it (probably would've messed up her eyebrows at that point). I love this place! I've so far come here for 2 massages and a facial, and have always been satisfied. For my facial I booked in advance, but my last massage I was able to snag with only a few hours notice. The staff is really friendly, the prices are very reasonable, and my last 2 massages (a male and a woman) were both great. They got all my sore spots and listened to my concerns. They also were really friendly and made me feel comfortable! The spa is very clean and I'm surely going to keep coming back and am interested in trying their other services. Absolutely love the massage therapist Vittorio Tran. He gives the best massages and stretches you out at the same time. I come out of there feeling new. I lived in NY, San Francisco, Seattle and now Hawaii. By far the best massage therapist I have experienced. Highly recommended:) read more
