I bought an ES 400 Eliptical, which has been excellent. Heavy duty and smooth, but ingeniously designed with a small enough footprint that it doesn't take up too much space in my home. Then, bam! We had lightning strike surge which damaged a number of electronics including those in the ES 400 unit. Kevin from Body-Solid could not have been more helpful in advising how to get it back up and working 100%, in the least expensive way. These guys are great - highest recommendation. read more

I have been a purchaser and user of Body Solid gym equipment for my home gym for many years. I have competed in powerlifting and strength events locally and nationally. I am hard on gym equipment, plainly put, but on the same hand I take care and pride in my equipment. I purchased a leg press (LPH 1000) back in 1998 along with a few other pieces of equipment. I really didn't pay attention to the lifetime warranty at the time, however, recently after many years of use, one of the rings for the handles broke at the weld. I contacted Body Solid customer service (Rodney) and he was extremely prompt and efficient in taking care of helping me. He quickly helped me find my replacement parts (which included a frame assembly) and shipped them to us free of charge. The lifetime warranty is real and Body Solid stands behind their product! I will be buying additional equipment at Body Solid in the future. Thank you! read more

This is the worse gym equipment manufacturer we have ever encountered & the reviews show this. Body Solid used to be quality made with lifetime warranties and customer service that was excellent. Until it was purchased by a new owner when the quality of the equipment began to go downhill and customer service seems to be focused on avoiding responsibility at all costs. Although the company still advertises lifetime warranties, don't be fooled because the company will ultimately not honor the warranties. There are much, much better gym equipment manufacturers out there. While Body Solid may be cheaper, you get what you pay for. And it's worth paying more for equipment to have a manufacturer that will stand behind its products & make it right for the customer. Avoid Body Solid at all costs. read more

I am writing to you today to explain about a bad situation I had with Body-Solid. I called customer service and spoke to representative Richard, regarding some parts I need for my bench press model GFID31. From the beginning of the call, I experienced a very rude and highly condescending phone conversation with him. No matter how nice I was to Richard, he was still constantly being very rude and inconsiderate to the problem I was having regarding my Body-Solid Bench. I have the emails that Richard and myself sent to each other. Rich was very passive aggressive in his emails and that is when I decided to give his superior William "Bill" Gladfelter a call. I expected a highly different conversation with Bill due to his title as Customer Service Manager. Speaking to Bill was equivalent to conversation with Richard. Bill was very passive aggressive but after sending him the picture he requested. Bill did agree to send out a replacement seat, which I did thank him for. However, he did not send out all of the parts requested and needed. I know it is an older bench but I did purchase this from Body-Solid and have had it for a long time. One of the main reasons I purchased and referred your products to my clients and gyms. Is due to Body-Solid's lifetime warranty and craftsmanship of equipment. read more

I have a workout bench from Body Solid that has a leg curl attachment which ultimately broke.  I purchased the bench about 25 years ago and noticed the lifetime warranty on the Body Solid website so I sent them an inquiry.  Of course I didn't have the receipt but that didn't matter as Body Solid stepped up to the plate and replaced the broken leg curl attachment without any questions asked.  I sent pictures of the broken part and they replaced it.  If I need any more exercise equipment in the future it will be Body Solid only. read more

I also was put in contact with Mr Rodney McKinnon for "customer service". I was very disappointed with that experience. I asked him about the mechanical advantage of the pulley systems and was told "the ratio would be 1:1". This made no sense to me for some of the setups, so when I challenged his response he changed his answer "... there will be the 2:1 ratio". He also answered another question incorrectly regarding the total weight of a stack, including the smaller top plate. At this point he had no credibility with me so I ended the email thread. I got the name of the owners and sent them a postal letter describing my experience with Mr. McKinnon. It has been five (5) months and I have not heard back from them, and I asked them to do so. I had purchased a Powerline PCC090X machine...I was having serious problems with it and had called BodySolid and spoke to Jesse Spaargaren. He listened to the problems I had with it and sent me the parts needing replacing, as well as, getting so involved with the issue he had realized that someone had set it up wrong. I bought the SDRS550 dumbbells set and it was such a disappointment. The odor was SO BAD that I wasn't able to bring them in the house. When I called Body Solid directly, they told me 3 different things to do to get the smell off. All of their answers revolved around different cleaners, but none of them worked. In the last call they told me it would take 6-8 weeks to get the smell off of them. Sadly, 12 weeks have passed and they are so toxic smelling that we still can't bring them in the house. I would AVOID these at all costs. Body Solid offered NO real options and after 15 emails with them their latest option was having me paying for shipping and a 20% restocking fee to return them. (Keep in mind that this dumbbell set are pairs of 5lbs thru 50lbs each, totaling 550lbs of dumbbells) Their Customer Service and Engineering Mgr stated this in his email to me...."the rubber odor is not warrantied". That basically means if you get these toxic smelling weights from them, you're stuck with them. They clearly know that they have issues with what they refer to as "gas-off", but they don't tell you about it. They know they smell so bad that they even have a policy about not being able to return the weights because of toxic smells. This has really changed my mind about this company in general. Had I done my research I would have purchased from another company. I would suggest do a lot of research because you are on your own if you have a problem like this. read more

I am a Body-Solid customer from Porterville, CA and I would like to share my experience with Body Solid's Sales Support Staff. I own a Body-Solid GPR378 Pro Power Rack. The lift offs for my rack had failed on me some time ago. I had them re-welded at a welding shop down the street from my house and was dissatisfied with the outcome so I discarded the two lift offs. I e-mailed Body Solid, Inc. with a parts request form and Rodney L. McKinnon from their Customer Care Team responded. Rodney priced each lift off at $25 and $15 to ship them both to my location. I called Rodney to disclose my credit card information and purchase the items. While processing the information to complete the purchase Rodney had charged me $35 for each lift off and $25 to ship them both to my location. So now the price went from $65 to $95. I brought this to his attention but he said their was nothing he could do. I also spoke with his supervisor Scott Carlton and he refused to honor the original price I was given through the e-mail by Rodney. I wish I could have purchased the lift offs from somewhere else but unfortunately the design is specifically made for Body Solid. I felt I had no choice but to purchase the lift offs and bite the bullet because we all know that without those two brackets the power rack is useless. read more
