First things first if I schedule an appt with a place I expect the appt to be on time that's the point of having an appt in the first place. Not only was the lady I had the appt with late but she also finished before the promised time. Very irritating. Just to top it off the body scrub I had done was so light I literally could have done a better job myself. Very disappointed I will not be coming back or recommending people here waste of Money. I loved Miriam. She was an excellent masseuse. She was very attentive in listening to what I needed and she asked me to let her know if she needed to apply more or less pressure at anytime. I came here because of the long standing reputation and reviews I saw online. The lady who answered the phone was helpful as I explained that I slept wrong and was experiencing discomfort on the upper left part of my back. I booked at 69$ 1 hour deep massage. After being placed in the room the therapist immediately begins trying to upsell me to a longer more expensive full body massage, I decline and we proceed. Then while I'm face down another upsell, CBD with marijuana oil for a 20$ upgrade. LOL Is this real life? The massage was supposed to be "deep" And after specifying it was my LEFT side upper back that was the problem, neither was the massage deep by any means and also the therapist put more time into my RIGHT side. After completion of the massage I realize the time, it was 12:10 and I am standing at the front desk. I then tell the receptionist that I didn't even get on the table until 11:25, she said "oh yes I'm sorry you are right we didn't even take you back until 11:17 offered me a 10$ off discount.... WHAT A JOKE. As a successful business owner myself, I maintain a high level of integrity and still add 20% gratuity. Needless to say I left STILL with discomfort in the left portion of my upper back. And for no particular reason (although I did see my masseuse eating lunch immediately afterwards in the back room, behind reception). I told the receptionist, who agreed: I did not get my full massage. She gave me a small $9 discount. I reached out to the management, to let them know, but no response. This was my first time at body centre. It's unfortunate because I was planning on making it my regular spot. I was in desperate need of a post-holiday stress massage, and I booked the back, neck, and shoulders one hour massage with Miriam. Her intuition was spot on, "attacking" a cluster of muscle adhesions for a bit and then doing more relaxing, soothing motions. I've had massages where I am left in bruises for about a week after and others where I felt like I was just tickled the whole time; this massage was perfectly in the middle. Most disappointing massage I've ever had. I gave two stars because the masseuse was friendly and offered to work on areas that were not originally included in my massage. Back to my first statement, 80% of my deep tissue massage consisted of the masseuse repeating jabbing me in the back with her elbows. Over the years I have had numerous massage therapists perform deep tissue massages on me, and none were similar to what I experienced at this business. Usually I am left with 85% of my knots relieved and a sense of bliss as I feel as if my body is simply melting into the floor after the massage. Waking up the next morning after this massage, I noticed I had the same knots, and my neck especially felt no relief. When my masseuse was not using her elbows, she was barely applying pressure with her hands, even though it was supposed to be a deep tissue massage. Her hand movements did almost nothing, the women at nail salons are more adept at knowing how to correctly use their hands to massage and relieve muscles, and that's not even their main service. To top it off, my hair was getting pulled on throughout the massage because she didn't properly secure it out of the way. In my experience, the masseuse will secure my hair by covering it with a towel and tucking it in, or simply using a hair tie. When she was working on my shoulders, a few hairs kept getting pulled on because nothing had been done about my hair; it was unprofessional. The lady I had was sweet and I feel bad writing this critique. However, at the end of the day, this business it providing a service, and I was not satisfied by the quality. It's my $72 down the drain and none of my discomfort alleviated. read more

Went here for the first time today, and I am already ready to go back. Place was clean and comfortable; staff is very friendly. Didi was my massage therapist and she was absolutely fantastic. She asked what I needed and checked on me throughout the process. I have a lot of knots and like it deep; my shoulders and neck have been in a lot of pain. Didi was able to find the knots and was able to go deep. (I've had a lot of massages in the past, and this is a gift not every massage therapist have.) Every therapist I've had here has been wonderful in their own way. While you can specify the exact type of massage you want through the super easy online booking system, each therapist has their own unique style. You can find one you connect with or just see who is available. If you are consistent with a therapist they will go out of their way to customize your massage and get to know you. I recently got the 80 minute full body massage with hot stone therapy and emphasis on the back. I sit at a computer most of the day and have back and neck pain as a result. Mariam has magical hands - she's strong and did a wonderful job of getting the tension out of my neck and back, but she also checked in with me to see if I was comfortable with the pressure. I will definitely go back. 4 stars due to the receptionist looking bored/annoyed when I walked in, it didn't lend to a very relaxing environment. ps ~ Definitely drink tons of water after your massage. The front office is small - as a first timer you'll need to fill out paperwork which is pretty standard. The rooms are quaint.
