Walked in with high expectations because the place looks really nice! The lighting and tables have a vintage look and its spacious. Compared to other places in the neighborhood, it's upscale. But alas, it was not meant to be. The food was disappointing in preparation, taste, and value. When you serve $18 burgers, you're saying "I can cook and I can use quality, tasty ingredients". The fries were burnt. The table next to us had the same problem, but had time to send the dish back and wait for more food. The chicken bites are very dry by themselves and actually inedible when combined with waffles (probably because they were cooked even more?). The chicken patty is worse than most of the soy burgers I've had in my life. Again, I should have sent the dishes back, but we were hungry, in a hurry, and with a baby. When I mentioned the quality of the food to the server, I only got a "Sorry" back. I wouldn't recommend this place based on what I got, but if you wanna roll the dice with some of the other choices, feel free. At $35 per person, this place isn't worth it. read more

Great place, very high line. It sucks that they don't do reservations and if you want to go Saturday night plan to be waiting on the list for at least an hour. Tasty but for $31 for fries and a chicken salad I should not have to wait 1 hour when its .3 miles away. When it comes I have to pick out the tomatoes that I asked NOT to be in my salad. Then they forget the sauces for the fries. The 3 stars is because it's tasty, the salad and fries were huge and they eventually bought the sauces. The long: the popcorn they give you while looking over the menu is buttery and delicious, the service was decent, the place clean and orderly, the bathroom sink is outside the bathroom which was weird but not a problem. By the time I finished and turned around, the place was packed with standing room hardly available, people waiting to be seated. I haven't had everything on the menu so I will comment only on those I tried. The morning scramble burger is a meal in itself, and enough protein, that you won't walk out hungry. Delicious! The hand cut truffle fries are absolutely generous in size, and could probably satisfy two. The truffle aioli makes it totally unique. A must order! The sleeper is the Pulled beef puffy tacos. (We asked to be moved but the other table available was reserved for someone with a child). The door was kept open due to the number of people so the metal chairs were freezing to sit on. The staff was pleasant and stayed cool under the stampede. Calmly reiterating to the masses that they were going down the list and would phone them when their table was available. Strict adherence to the list. Recommendations: Go at off hours. Do not order the Down South unless you like really, really like sickly sweet burgers. Last week, I visited Boeuf & Bun with friends. As we entered, we see the restaurant was very packed. And I was really surprised to see that they do not take reservations and that waiting for a table would take over 25 minutes! I think they should add in reservations for a restaurant that gets that packed, but then again, I did go on a Saturday night. The appetizers we had were phenomenal! The truffle fries tasted amazing! And it was for eight dollars, I believe! The fries were really crispy, and I believe they used truffle salt or truffle oil, but nonetheless, it tasted great! Though, for the main dish, I ordered the morning scramble, but instead of the horse radish mayo, I got garlic mayo! But let me start off by saying that this was one of the best burgers that I have ever eaten! I have nothing to complain about! The meat was cooked to perfection! At first, I was hesitant to get the egg with it, but I have to say, that egg tops the burger off perfectly! What an amazing combo! First you can't make reservations over the phone we got their and waited 40 minutes for a seat. For a crowded tight area seat , if you are over 150 lbs or have a big butt pls do not attempt to sit in their tiny chairs one man stood up and his chair was stuck to his butt I felt bad for him. The food was nothing special a burger and fries are just a burger and fries anywhere you eat it. I had a red wine sangria well I had 3 sips before I became extremely nauscious I felt ill the rest of the night. The place was packed with little kids and babies in which I was hesitant to go inside because it was very loud and cramped. We waited 20 min to order I thought I was going to eat my napkin I was so hungry. Then we waited forever for the food and forever for the bill. Service was not good very slow , the place is not the cleanest either . Why so overpacked for what burgers?? I felt not well afterwards food was heavy and oily. My husband also did not feel well after. You'd think that having so many children in the restaurant they'd make a kids size burger but they dont have one so a small child is served a huge burger. We started with the fried jalapeno poppers and onion rings. Solid, nothing special. There was a mix up with our food so it took about 40 minutes to get our burgers, but it was worth the wait. The New Yorker had possibly the best pastrami I've ever had on a burger and the Baa Baa Burger was spiced very well. It was so salty I couldn't eat it. I ordered beer battered onion rings but regretted it when they arrived. The outsides of the rings were really oily and the onion itself was left virtually uncooked. Disgusting. This is the most hyped, over-rated Kosher restaurant. I like to tip extra with cash aside for the mandatory tip that comes on the bill and did so this time as well. Alas, Barf and Bun even managed to disappoint in this matter as well. When I looked at my receipt as I was leaving I noticed an extra hidden 15% service charge on the entire bill!! My most recent experience dining at Boeuf and Bun solidified this restaurant as one of my top 5. The restaurant was fully occupied, but you didn't get a sense that the staff was overwhelmed. Quite on the contrary. Our waiter was juggling several tables, but greeted everyone with a warm and friendly smile, inquired customers on their meals as he passed along the tables, sometimes offering a cute joke. I came here with my husband for our anniversary, we didn't want to do anything super fancy. We wanted good food, well priced, nice atmosphere, quick service. Not only is the service and food fantastic here, but the atmosphere is aesthetically pleasing also. I ordered the house special chicken and waffles with a jalapeno marmalade, The jalapeno facon poppers, and the mean green burger. All a mouthful of flavor with just the right amount of heat. I hate when I go to a kosher restaurant and the item says spicy then it isn't spicy at all. This place gives you exactly what is described. My son treated me to dinner after a long journey and I have food allergies. I ordered lamb burger on top of a salad and wanted the dressing on the side (I had to wait to see what was in it for allergies). It was clear to put it on the side, so when the water boy brought it, it was saturated with dressing and I informed him so. He brought a little bowl of vinegar and oil. I asked the real waiter to replace it; they took it away and soon brought it back "without the dressing." Basically they washed it off, because it was cold and soggy and the dressing was absorbed under the salad. I was hungry so I ate most of it and felt awful afterwards.
