Nice atmosphere. We were immediatley greeted for seating. Got the Cattail Honey Brown Amber Ale...three times. It is a tasty beer. Pretzel appetizer with spicy mustard and beer cheese was ok. The pretzel was too hard on the ouside. I had the grilled romaine salad with chicken. Good portion and the dressing was excellent. Hubs got Cajun sausage sandwhich and said it was aoutside. We disliked the plastic wrapped plastic spoon, fork, and knife. Real silverware please. Waitress was sweet and helpful answering our questions. Prices are very reasonable.

This place has it right. It's one of the best gastropubs we've been to, and now we're regulars. They have a great selection of beers and seltzers for every palette, and they are constantly rotating in new beers. The service is top notch. One of our favorite things about this place is that there is always something fun going on, almost every day of the week, and there's usually a pretty good crowd, which creates a party atmosphere. The menu and food are awesome, and there's something for all ages. My favorites are the queso fundido with homemade chips as an appetizer, and then either the Cuban panini, pulled pork flatbread, or the Nashville hot chicken sandwich. They have some pretty amazing specials too.

Wow! First time here. Beers all "top notch" (per hubby) and food out of this world. Great service! And we will eat the other half for dinner!

Great local brewery! Good beers, service is always good. Can always count on good food. The only thing I am not a fan of, is how dark it always is in there. Other than that, you can always count on good food and good beer.

Wasn't sure about this place till we walked in. Very nice and rustic, and relaxing atmosphere. Surprisingly it wasn't very busy on a mid Sunday afternoon. We did a beer flight and tried some hard seltzers. The beer was good, but the hard seltzer was amazing. Our server told us the have just a basic plain hard seltzer then add their syrups to them. The tropical seltzer tasted just like summer in a glass! We liked it so much we got a crowler size bottle to go with a smidge of blackberry. We will definitely be back!

What a great little hidden gem. My husband and I have been trying to hit every brewery in Maryland and Bog Turtle has been on our list. We decided to check it out on a Saturday evening to grab a beer. Unfortunately we had just eaten beforehand because the entire food menu sounded incredible!!! I ordered the First Anthem and it was so yummy and refreshing. While we were hanging out in the couch area, the owner/manager stopped by to check in on us and she was so friendly and attentive. She even gave us cards for a free pint for our next visit which was so sweet and unexpected. She told us they are opening up a breakfast spot across the street sometime in the Fall so we can't wait to come back to try the breakfast and grab a pint afterwards ;) great place to hang out, grab some food and a great beer or few!! Can't wait to come back!

We need to get back up to the Bog Turtle Brewery in Rising Sun, MD. Our first visit was just the best. The beer & food were fabulous. The service was super fast. People were having lunch and a kid was playing a game. Looks like they have a stage for entertainment. We were able to park directly in front. We visit Cecil Co every now & then. The other time we drank Bog Turtle beer was at a Dove Valley Winery craft show. We plan to be at the Blue Elk Winery on 12/4. I'm sure they are just as friendly as the other two.

Right on the peir this place is no doubt busy during the summer months but for this Super Bowl Sunday stroll for me I enjoy the quiet peace sipping on my Ezra Ball Buster their flagship beer Ringtail Cream Ale, clean crisp Black Market that seems dark but is actually smooth Koslh which wraps up my flight nicely The building has sofa for families, high top for large groups, small chairs for individuals and events happening through the month. Come check it out!

They don't have food, but do sell snacks (chips, dips, sodas, etc). There was a food truck available outside to get food as well. Extensive beer and seltzer menu. We didn't do the beer and opted for seltzer. Got the spicy mango one. They make these by adding syrups, etc so bartender was super helpful in customizing as we didn't want it sweet at all. They even do half pours as well. Super cheap. We sat out back on the patio with our drinks and food from the food truck. Very nice place. Service was excellent! Great brewery vibes.

Looked like there was only 2 servers for the entire place which was busy. My husband liked his chili, so that's the two star review. He said it had a lot of flavor. I had the brisket sandwich which was very small for the price with not a lot of meat. The meat had no flavor at all. Was not served with the au ju, which I had to ask for. Unfortunately, the au ju did not make it any better. The Cole slaw had a good flavor and was not sweet, so that was the best part of the food.

We were there for 30-45 minutes and she then finally brought out the cocktail menu. Not entirely sure I would come back.

This was my 2nd time coming to Mad Chef!…read more The first time I came here was about 2 years ago (before doing yelp reviews). I was not very impressed. This time around I cannot complain! Their specials are all revolving around the Masters which was unique! We tried the Pimento, Fried Green Tomato, Chicken Sandwich (The Pimento Birdie). This was a delicious sandwich that just screams Georgia! We also tried the Madfather Chicken Sandwich! Pesto, Vodka Sauce, Mozzarella, this thing was outstanding! The fries are always a highlight here! We got the bucket (had a bigger group) and it came with 3 sauces. 1 tiny little knock on the fry bucket....the entire bucket was not filled with fries. The bottom of the fry bucket had about an inch or 2 of crinkled up paper..... All of the food was outstanding. The beer was good. Tons of space and seating. Very easy ordering process. Go up to the counter, tell them your table number, and your food arrives shortly! Prices are high here! Expect a larger number on your check if consuming both food and alcohol!

Big Sigh... An attempt to create something good, unsual, but…read morenot only falls short in doing so, the inflated prices were enough for you to rethink your groceries for the week. Maybe what I smelled upon walking inside Mad Chef, were hops; I'm unsure. There was a lingering, unpleasant scent (hay/old peanut shells, an earthy staleness). When my food arrived, the scent dissipated. I purposely took a picture of the fish, on my fried fish sandwich, to illustrate what $17 and some change, looks like - very thin. The fish fry was tasty, slightly undercooked, soft crusted and soft bun, fresh condiments and those "pickles" were stellar. They were the best part of my meal. I would seriously purchase a jar of those pickles. Was wary of how hot honey would mesh with a pepperoni pizza, but surprisingly, the sweet heat and the savoriness of the pepperonis, worked well together. The only miss and it's a pretty big "miss," was the paper thin, tasteless crust, acting only as a vehicle to hold the toppings. Suggest you improve the crust and then, you'll have a stellar pie. Loved the peach bread pudding with brown sugar ice cream, but once again, for the price; the portion was skimpy. Liked the touch of homemade whipped cream, but it was overly whipped (stiff and tasteless), making it actually, impalatable.
