When we walked in we were told a 10-15 minute wait and that we could sit at the bar if we'd like - despite the fact that there was an obviously empty booth. Initially, I thought that this was a ploy to get us to buy some drinks. When we were seated approximately 10 minutes later, the host apologized and said she did not want to seat us until she was sure we would be served in a prompt manner. I really did appreciate the explanation. I had the coconut shrimp tacos and the coconut margarita (love coconut!). Both were delicious! Due to COVID we fully understand there are governors orders asking businesses to enforce masks, however upon walking into this restaurant without masks on our names were taken and put on the wait list, we walked to two bars and had beer prior to receiving text that table was available. We were handed masks to walk the 10 feet to the table, 2 members of our party can NOT wear masks who are both decorated war veterans with medical conditions that prohibit wearing masks. The hostess took us to the table and seated us to which I'm assuming at this point was the manager followed us to the table and began fussing about wearing masks, which created a scene in the restaurant- as a business you can kindly ask someone if they are UNABLE to wear a mask they can't patronize there. To come to the table with a raised voice about not wearing a mask to walk to the table ; a gentleman in our party kindly stated "fine we can leave"; to which we were returned with the words "great! I would actually you rather leave!" She then stormed to the front and threw an item across the host stand. EXTREMELY unprofessional, would never recommend this treatment towards any guest in any place of business! - again we understand businesses can ask you to leave if they will not accept medical conditions as a reason to not wear a mask, the issue was the way the matter was handled with the lady coming to the table causing the scene she caused and speaking to veterans in that manner, the way they were treated is unacceptable! ** in response given the opportunity we would have gladly said that, however you did matter of factly walk up to our table with a raised voice that other patrons of your restaurant even commented on when we ran into them in town later that evening; you said "you sir did not wear that mask to the table" accusatory, as a manager approaching the situation in a kind calm manner questioning if there was a reason would've been acceptable. We actually had an amazing dinner just down the road at a business owned by your same owner and they had no objections to the mask wearing and were super kind and friendly, and we were informed that it was a matter of your opinion on enforcing masks. The bean dip is worth it in itself. I have not strayed away from the pizza menu all that much in my visits, so I cant comment on other items, but the pizza is always pretty dang good. ESPECIALLY when you top it off with one of the signature margaritas. read more

We had just driven into Red Lodge, which is our home, at 8:30 pm. We arrived hungry at Bogarts at 8:52pm, 8 minutes before they closed. We were welcomed in graciously by a young man and our waitress was a lovely young lady from Beaverton, Or. We had just completed a trip from The Dalles, Or. , which was just under 12 hrs. drive for us. Hungry, tired and Home & meeting two wonderful , welcoming people....wish I knew their names and also of the cook as it was the biggest, hugest , and best tasting dinner we were ever greeted with. and Great Signature Margaritas ! Amazing attitudes to be greeted with so close to closing time. Kudos to the cook that probably had the grill cleaned, apron off and thinking of going home. Stopped at Bogart's on an August 2018 (sorry for the late review) motorcycle trip while spending the night in Red Lodge. We fell in love with Red Lodge and we fell in love with this restaurant. Food, service, and decor were perfect. I had Tacos and my wife had a fajita salad. Both were delicious. We did not have to wait and the place really filled up. Oh yeah, the margaritas were excellent. OK. When you walk into a place and see a menu that runs the gamut from pizza to sandwiches to Mexican, it always makes me worry. Can a place that tries to do so many things do any of them well? Unfortunately, the answer is usually "no," and that is also the case when it comes to Bogart's. We stuck with the Mexican choices. My wife had the chimichanga and was not terribly impressed. I had the taco salad, which was a bit small and uninteresting. If you're looking for decent food, there are a few choices in Red Lodge. I think I'll stick to them in the future. read more

I grew up eating at this restaurant so was looking forward to eating here while on vacation - the owners have changed since I last ate here 15 years ago. The restaurant is located in a really old building with the metal ceiling tiles I only see in the West and I have always loved the decor! My husband ordered the taco plate with shredded beef. The beef in the tacos was very moist & flavorable, and served with refried beans (which were ok). I originally wanted the coconut shrimp tacos, but after finding out they were frozen, I decided to order something else (nothing worse than frozen coconut shrimp). I had the jerk chicken, which was flavorful, but no where as flavorful as jerk chicken I'm used to having in Florida. It seemed like the chicken wasn't marinated or spiced very much like it should have been. The complimentary chips were really good, however, we prefer a spicier salsa (we eat some really spicy food so this was too mild for us). I have to honestly say we should have ordered one of their pizzas - they used to be 5 star pizzas. We spent the day skiing up at rock dodge, was amazing! As one would expect it left us hungry! Coming into town we were deciding on a place for dinner and on the recommendation of another we chose Bogart's. It was an excellent choice! When you have a family like mine it's hard to find a place where everyone is happy with the menu, for this reason alone i would have given it 5 stars, pizza, Mexican, and burgers for the win. i was definitely pleased as my boys ordered pizza that was so good they both have that "oh yum" with the first bite. Our daughter who was planning on just eating some things she had packed ordered a plate of grilled shrimp that was not on the menu but the staff was very accommodating! She was happy. Now for my wife who try's to eat light, ordered the taco salad and was also deliciously satisfied. For myself, i ordered a shredded beef burrito in green sauce and it will definitely be ordered again! Of course they serve chips and salsa which is always a win in my book . . . Yes, a Mexican place called Bogart's! Just go with it, you'll be glad you stopped in. I really appreciated the chips and salsa that hit the table as soon as you sit down. The full bar makes a mean margarita served in large martini glasses that hit the spot after a day in the heat!! The menu is Mexican-American with a good kids menu. We were on ski trip from Georgia and stopped in for dinner. Didn't research food was Mexican so we initially were hesitant. But....the Cuban was excellent, the Burrito was liked more than the Chili Verde Burrito, Chili Releno was fantastic, it had slight "heat" so if you're not into spicy don't go for it. I remember loving this place years ago. I spent about 6 weeks working at YBRA. This was a regular stop of mine then. On a recent visit back, I had to stop in for lunch. I have always, and still do love the vibe here. A mix of stuffed animals and vintage Bogart pictures everywhere. All wood, and tables scattered about. This was the first place I tried Red Lodge Ales. I fell in love in an instant. The food here is overall fairly average, and the service is pretty lax. I have always gone for the hoagies. I use to love them when I was in college. Now everything seems greasy and blah. Lots of other stuff on the menu as well. Pizzas and Tex-Mex. All about the same quality. A greasy spoon that is a filling and fun place to visit. So disappointed. This has been my favourite Red Lodge spot for years. Years! The pizza has always been amazing, Mexican great and margaritas fantastic. I had heard rumours that the ownership had changed and so had the menu, but I thought it would still be good. Wrong! We stopped in this past weekend and ordered a few kids meals for the kiddo's of the group, and the adults all had Mexican. The kid meals were cold, rubbery chicken.
