Came across their Instagram ad and thought their concept reminded me of Cava so I had to give them a try! There was a small line when I arrived but it went by pretty quickly. They also had kiosks for self ordering but I recommend ordering at the counter because it seemed like it was much faster. People who ordered on the kiosks waited a while for their order. I love that they have a tofu option as I'm a vegetarian and so many delicious vegetables toppings! I basically added all their topping options but regretted adding their olives as they made my bowl extremely salty. If you don't like your bowl too salty, I would recommend skipping the olives. I chose their Tzatziki and Garlic Herb Cottage Cheese and both were delicious! I've tried most of their dressings and you can't really go wrong with any of their options! Great healthy on the go meal option in Elk Grove and extremely vegetarian friendly! I will definitely be back!! PRO TIP: sign up for their reward program and you'll earn a free bowl after your first purchase!

Heard of this place from my girlfriend amd was described as a new spin on Chipotle. Bohl has a modern, sleek and clean vibe, mixed with a counter culture type of art work. Which is a nice touch to what you'd expect in that type of environment. I noted the Banksy'esq print that was adorned on one of the walls, with the other nicely framed graffiti style pieces. My girlfriend and have been here a number of times, and our go-to's is the build your own bowl. Overall: I was pleasantly surprised with Bohl and their upgraded bowl vibe to Chipotle. The healthier and fresher ingredients, makes the Build you own bowl my go-to meal here.

Quick story: just came back from a Cancún trip, while there's realized that I hated my "mom" swimsuit and I didn't feel comfortable in a lot of the outfits that I brought with me, due to my size. So with that being said I'm on a healthy journey. I have been focusing on more Whole healthy foods. I have been looking for a quick healthy place to go, and BOHL was it!!! It's very simple and clean inside and they had interesting options. I was going to give it a 4 because I wish they had a tad more options but I gave them a 5 because I loved the pita bread, it had a sourdough taste to it. Check this place out very fresh and very good.

Finally checked out Bohl and thanks to their app, I was able to get a free kids meal already on my first visit! It was perfect for my kids to share. It's actually not a bad price at $7.95 since it also includes a drink! For myself, I chose to create my own bowl with romaine lettuce. If you have decision paralysis, you can pick from one of their signature bowls. I chose steak for mine so it was the priciest at $15, which seems quite high for a salad but I think that's probably pretty comparable to other similar places currently. I especially enjoyed the options for dips and dressings. I wanted to try them all! The tzatziki was my favorite part, along with the sweet potato topping. As much as I love kimchi, it just didn't go well with the combo of ingredients I picked, plus the spice blend overall has more of a Mediterranean feel and the kimchi flavor didn't have a place there. Other than that it was a delicious healthy option to have. They have tons of indoor and outdoor seating, although parking can be a bit tricky during lunch rush in this tiny parking lot.

I was so excited to try Bohl considering people were saying it's Sacramento's Cava, but I don't think I'll be coming back anytime soon. It's basically a glorified overpriced salad. I ordered a Build Your Own Bowl for pickup, and it was my first time ordering from here so I didn't know what everything was supposed to look like. Thankfully before I left, I stopped at the tables out front and opened my bowl to try to shake the dressing around... turns out they forgot the dressing. I was wondering why my salad looked so dry. I also requested the dips to be on the side, but as you can see from the pictures, they were just placed on top IN my bowl, lol. I will say everything did taste really fresh! The corn and chickpeas are a must if you're building your own bowl. The space is overall really modern, sleek, and clean. Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. They have a station for their drinks and utensils as well (similar to chipotle). The staff working the front actively preparing customers' bowls in store were also very kind and gave me my missing dressing on my the side without a problem.

"Feta Late than Neva" + Pita Chips

Bohl came up when I was searching for somewhere to grab lunch. Parking isn't the easiest to find at times in their lot. I felt a bit deceived by the portion size. The fullness of the bowl doesn't even come close to their display photo. I read some reviews saying the portions were good, so maybe they're compensating for their previous generosity by giving smaller portions now? I hope they have some better consistency as time goes on. Taste-wise it was fine. I had the "Feta Late than Neva" Bowl and Pita Chips. The pita was a bit oily for my preference, but my meal would've felt like it was lacking something without this add-on. Overall, it felt like a relatively light and healthy meal, which is what I was going for.

This place took a while to open, but I'm glad BOHL is here. It's a great addition to the area, especially if you're looking for healthier food options. The concept is similar to Chipotle, with a build-your-own style focused on high-protein, quality ingredients served as salads or bowls. I waited for the initial rush to settle after their grand opening and stopped by this past week. The place was busy, with people dining both inside and outside but not much of a line. Ordering is flexible. You can use their app, order at a kiosk, or go straight to the counter, which is what I did. I went with a salad base with steak doubling the protein since each scoop is about 2 oz. There's a wide variety of toppings, and I added spicy feta, tomatoes, cucumber, spicy broccoli, and pickled onions. For dressing, I tried both the house ranch and jalapeño avocado. I also tried their mint watermelon drink. My total came out to $26 with the extra protein. The portion size felt fair for the price, especially considering the quality of the ingredients and the convenience. Overall, I really enjoyed the salad bowl. Everything tasted fresh, the steak was flavorful, and both the ranch and jalapeño avocado dressings were especially good. Looking forward to coming back for another meal!

If you like Sweet Green, this place is similar, but with a smaller menu option. The seating is very similar to chipotle. You order on an iPad and everything is packaged to go in paper bags. All of the utensils and bowls are plastic and paper. I personally think that they should have an option for dining in or out so that all these paper bags are not wasted for those that are dining. I ordered off of their signature meal menu and decided to have the ranch bowl which was a salad. The steak cubes were not as tender as I would have liked it, but it was not bad. I chose the garlic cottage cheese for my dressing and it was very garlicky. It was a very good serving, but it is a bit more pricier than sweet green. Sweet green also has more topping choices. The drinks are soft serve you get a cup and you can go get whatever flavored iced tea you would like. I saw an employee refill the bins with water and a concentrate box of lemonade inside of the strawberry lemonade. The unsweetened black tea was on the stronger side, which I liked. Not sure if it is a concentrate as well. It was very nice and clean inside. I would definitely come back and try other bowls when I am in Elk Grove.

Excited to see bohl open up! Bohl is def their own version of the Cava food chain. You can order on a tablet or stand in line to get your bowl and order chipotle style. I made my own bowl with half mixed greens & half white rice with steak. Love the unlimited toppings and all the dip and sauce choices! For protein options they have chicken, steak, or tofu. Also got their pita chips on the side - it came with 4 pieces. They actually were more like pita bread- not crunchy like chips at all. I still liked it and would get on the side again in the future - sea salt on top was a nice touch. I really liked their drink options as well, I mixed the watermelon mint with strawberry dragon fruit. Very refreshing. My friend and I both liked it and would come back! :)

This place rocks! It's exactly what Elk Grove needs! Think fast-casual healthy salad eatery with a Chipotle-style serving line. The menu is simple; first, choose your base: romaine, spring mix, white rice, or brown rice. Then choose your protein: chicken, steak, tofu or veggie. Finally, choose up to two dips, up to two dressings and unlimited toppings. All ingredients are super fresh and high-quality. Portions are generous: my husband felt full after eating his bowl and I couldn't even finish mine. The pita "chips" (more like bread) are delicious. Service is fast, helpful and very friendly. The dining area has cute tables and chairs and the decor has a modern vibe. Everything is immaculately clean and prices are very reasonable. ($14-18). We enjoyed our dinner and will definitely be back soon. Way to go, Bohl! You knocked this out of the park!

Hair in bowl
Paulina L.

Tried this place out since I seen it looked like chipotle but a little healthier. I made my own bowl - steak rice and all the unlimited toppings they had and omg so good! I visited family here over the weekend and basically had this place everyday I was here and even took some back home- an hour away, unfortunately when I went home to eat it I found a hair in my bowl!. Anyways the times I did go I just did a mobile order since it's so quick and beat the busy crowd! Would come again next time I'm in town hoping I don't get another hair in my bowl! Also wish I could get a bigger bag of the pita chips. Love how they have different time of drinks as well!

Feta late than neva

Saw this new place open up on social media and decided to give it a try. Ordered one of the pre selected bowls, called feta late than neva. My favorite was the tzatziki sauce and pickled onions in the bowl, it really gave it a fresh wow with everything mixed together. Like a mediterranean style chipotle where you can build your own bowl too. Staff still also newly training and figuring out the menu. New, clean aesthetic inside. Tons of tables to sit at. Would recommend coming and trying this place out.

Finally came over on a monday afternoon place had a steady pace of customers . Clean and bright nice patio seating is a plus. Ordered a bowl with salad as the base steak and a bunch of their toppings nice selection and variety also got an order of their pita bread which was fresh and pillowy yummy dipping it in the red pepper hummus. Everything was fresh service was ok the customer ahead of me had alot of questions about the ingredients to the staff she seemed a little abrupt to him but not rude there was a line in back of him ready to order so hahaha i get it. Id come back again when i want something healthy and yummy

The iceberg wedge salad is huge and easily shareable between three people. It's light and refreshing. On my most recent visit, I ordered the seared scallops, which came with four generously sized scallops, maitake mushrooms, kale, parsnip purée, smoked hazelnut, and pancetta crumble. The scallops and mushrooms were excellent, but the parsnip purée was a little too sweet for my taste, and the kale leaned slightly bitter. Aside from that, I really enjoyed the dish overall. I also tried the bananas foster for the first time, and our server, Tamika, prepared it tableside for us. It was delicious -- sweet without being overpowering, especially paired with the cheesecake. Tamika was incredibly friendly and welcoming throughout the meal. The steakhouse itself is spacious, though getting into the booths can be a little awkward unless you're seated at the end. Next time, I'd probably request a table instead.

My husband & I live in the Monterey area, but our elderly moms live in Galt & Pioneer. So, with busy lives we decided to try & give them a Mother's Day they'd really like. I was searching up restaurants that were doing Mother's Day events in their area. I didn't want to do a buffet or be in a place that was going to be so packed no one could hear each other. Tough challenge. But I found the Mother's Day brunch event at the Brick House, so decided to make reservations. I personally liked that you had to leave a deposit to hold the reservation. That tells me they're serious about making sure it was not overcrowded. The menu was limited due to it being a special event, but the items to choose from seemed interesting. Plus the bottomless mimosas & bloody Mary's was a big bonus. Our reservation was at 10:15AM. I'll start off with the review by mentioning my dad. He is a grumpy old guy who doesn't get out much. I've had to "warn" wait staff to ignore him; that he's a grump & won't be paying the bill, we will, so to not let any comments phase them, & we will try to keep him in line. Luckily he doesn't know what yelp is! When we were reviewing the menu the night before, he made the comments, "weird menu, it will be crowded, bottomless drinks? That means they will come by one time with tiny glasses." So we arrive a little early but are immediately seated in a very quiet area with only a couple of other tables occupied. The Grumpy old man: "see. They stuck us where we won't get any service." As soon as we sat down our waitress came over & immediately wished us all a happy mother's Day & could she get us a Bloody Mary or mimosa & that they were bottomless. And that she'd also be bringing our pastry board. We ordered our drinks & my dad made the comments, loud enough for the waitress to hear, "ok girls. Your one small mimosa will be coming out along with cold donuts. you'll never be offered another one, so enjoy." Within a few minutes us moms got our mimosas. In large wine glasses, filled to the top. Grumpy old man got a Bloody Mary. Nice selection of Pastries were hot out of the oven. He Made the comment, "great, a weak drink." (He hadn't taken a sip yet.") We told the waitress we would need a few minutes to look at the menu, she said fine. No rush. She came back & saw my mom & dad were nearly done with their drinks. Offered another while she took our order. My dad replied: "no. I'm driving." Translation: it's a strong drink. We went to order & my dad ordered the eggs Benedict with pork belly. also muttering it sounded weird, and it would be a shame to throw out such expensive food. He ate every bite & told the waitress it was "ok." (He rarely eats all his food.) Translation: it was probably one of the best he's had. I had the vegetable quiche & it was very good. The mimosas kept being offered & were flowing for the moms well after our food was finished which for it being a special, reservation only event was a pleasant surprise. We finely told the waitress at round 4 us girls were done. The restaurant remained quiet & when we left, it was busy, but not overly so. The manager, Chris, was greeting people & wishing the moms a happy Mother's Day. We were there for a couple of hours & never felt rushed to leave. When the bill came & my husband went to pay it, my dad told him to make sure the tip wasn't included before not leaving one. The waitress had to put up with us girls Constantly getting mimosas without asking for them. Translation: he felt like he had a nice time, the waitress made sure us moms had a nice time & wanted to make sure she got a tip. Us girls decided that we wanted to come back for regular happy hour/dinner next time we visited. My dad grumbled that he'd have to come too so we'd have a ride back. Translation: he wants to come back. Lol It was pricey, but worth every penny for the wonderful Mother's Day we were able to give our older moms. I'd definitely do it again next year if they have it. Thank you!

I then asked if there was any chance of being seated sooner as a walk-in, and Aubrey told me they had room for two at a table in the bar area. I specifically asked whether it was an actual table where we could comfortably order food, because I did not want to be stuck at some tiny corner setup where only one plate could fit. I also made it clear that it was my birthday and that I wanted something a little more formal and comfortable. I was told it would be in the front by the bar, not shoved in a corner, though it could be a little crowded if people were in the waiting area. When we arrived, the first issue was parking. For a first-time guest, parking was unnecessarily difficult to figure out, especially during a rainstorm. Since the restaurant is set up like a small house, it was not obvious where to park, and there was no clear sign letting us know there was parking around the back. Once we walked in, I immediately saw the table that had been described to us. It was right near the bar against the wall, and it was much smaller and more awkward than I had been led to believe. My girlfriend was wearing a dress, and because it was such a high table, it made it uncomfortable for her to sit naturally and comfortably. As soon as we sat down, I looked at the table and asked if we were really going to be able to order multiple items and eat comfortably there. I was told they would "pace it" and "make it work." That should have been the warning sign right there. We started with two ice waters, and even that nearly filled the table. They brought a pitcher and poured the water into the glasses. I asked for a separate cup of ice, and because there was so little room on the table, I had to ask the waiter to take the glass back and pour it for me so I would not spill everything. That is how cramped this setup was. We ordered the chicken breast special and a half dozen oysters. First came the garlic bread, and now we had bread, butter, two waters, silverware everywhere, and barely any room left. Then the oysters arrived, and everything had to be shifted around just to make it fit. At that point, the table had bread, oysters, hot sauce, waters, and multiple pieces of silverware for each guest, and it felt like one wrong move would send a glass to the floor. After we finished the oysters and bread, they cleared the table and brought out our entrée. We ordered the shareable chicken breast after I specifically asked whether it would be enough food for both of us. The waiter said it should be. In reality, it was about four small pieces of chicken once cut, three asparagus spears, and two very small scoops of mashed potatoes. For the price, it was honestly disappointing. I cannot remember the last time I paid that much at a nicer restaurant and still left hungry. What made it worse was that they knew it was my birthday and did absolutely nothing to acknowledge it. No small dessert, no candle, no gesture, nothing. Ironically, the only people who made the night feel special were another couple who had apparently been dining there for years. They overheard us mention it was my birthday and kindly bought us two sparkling wines. That was thoughtful, but it also added even more clutter to an already ridiculously tiny table. The service overall was underwhelming. We were barely checked on, and the whole experience felt awkward. The hostess kept staring at us throughout the meal, and at one point, she rolled her eyes when she went to take the Tabasco sauce, and we told her we still needed it for the chicken. For the prices Boulevard Bistro charges, I expected much better service, better communication, and a much more comfortable dining experience. Instead, the whole night felt misleading, cramped, and disappointing. I will not be coming back.

I came across edamame under appetizers. Based on the description, I ordered it. I love me some spicy edamame, especially when it's seasoned very well. I got my order to go, got home and when I opened the edamame, it was not what I expected. It was sitting in liquid. The description of the edamame under appetizers says nothing about it being in any kind of liquid or sauce. So I revisited the establishment tonight, which is Friday (the next day). I explained to the employee taking my order what I expected based on the description on the menu and what I got. I even showed her pictures. She said she's never seen edamame made that way (not in sauce) even though there's a picture of it being made that way under their Yelp profile. There was no attempt to rectify the situation so I left it be but it is a bit disheartening to order something with a specific description, then you get home and your order is not what you thought it would be and then there is no recourse provided. Based on this experience, my tip for future patrons is to ensure you get clarification on an item if you are trying it for the first time because it might not come in the same way it is described on the menu. They poured a small portion of the curry on it but still the curry is very "weak". The piece of very thin beef was about 4"x4", very small portion...for $22. The $22 teriyaki chicken was the same...no flavor, just lightly deep in a teriyaki sauce. Luckily, we ordered two sushi rolls at $18 each. Otherwise, we would still be starving. The sushi rolls are good, not great, but standard. Any sushi restaurants can prepared the same. But, for the price of $18 per roll we ordered, we can probably get cheaper prices elsewhere. Anyway, we are very, very picky people and we love to eat. These were our first impressions of this restaurant, and our opinions. Your taste buds might be different than our, so good luck. But I would not recommend this restaurants for their entrée, their sushi is fine, if you do not mind their prices.
