Bohl is like Chipotle only with salads instead of burritos. They have lots of meat choices, lots of vegetable choices, and everything seems fresh. They have lots of fountain drinks, plus juices and teas. Their soda machine has Fresca! Such a nice surprise. The interior of the restaurant is clean & modern, but they keep the temps in there too cold. It's FREEZING. That's a common restaurant trick--they make it too cold so people won't stay too long. It keeps the tables open. But on my visits, there hasn't been anyone else. It's been empty, and it's been too hot to eat outside. They have lots of outdoor seating. They serve pita chips with the salads, and they are the best pita chips I've had in a long time. They are soft, a bit chewy, and flavorful. They even provide a plop of hummus on top of your salad for dipping! This place is great for a quick light-but-filling meal any time of day. read more

Bohl focuses on customizable or signature salad or rice bowls. I appreciated there are some curated options or you can build your own bowl. I ordered from the kiosk and found it easy to use and navigate. I opted to build my own and was easily able to make selections add toppings, protein, dipping sauces and dressings. There were different protein options: chicken, steak, and even tofu. The starting price is based on the main protein. You can choose two base options from white or brown rice, romaine lettuce or spring greens. From that point you can add most toppings for no additional charge. I was able to choose so many different toppings: black beans, arugula, crispy chickpeas, roasted beets, roasted zucchini, roasted sweet potato, spicy broccoli, kimchi, fire roasted corn, pickled onions and even more options. liked that there were plenty of different texture choices too. My order was prepared after a few minutes and my name was called out. I also saw a shelf where your order may be picked up. If you prefer one may also order at the counter and have the bowl prepared. There was plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The seating areas are a more modern sleek wood design. There was plenty of parking available outside. Just know the restaurant is in the corner lot of the shopping center. Everything I chose was fresh and delicious. I was easily able to "eat the rainbow" for dinner. OHMYGOODNESS! What a great surprise!! We were going on a road trip and the family brought home lunch from Bohl before getting on the road. We had the Ranch Hand with double protein! ( grilled steak extra steak with additional cost ). The salad consisted of spring mix, sweet potatoes, pickled onions, tomatoes, cheese, avocado, cottage cheese, and ranch dressing. It was a refreshing surprise! We do something similar at home, but good to know we could order something and be on the healthier side. As far as the roasted sweet potatoes, it was chopped so small that I felt like I barely had any! I know it's all supposed to fit in the bowl so chopping it smaller pieces probably made sense. My boyfriend and I decided to give this place a try after coming back from a road trip. Interior was bright and nicely decorated. Seating available indoor and outdoor. Order at the counter or from the kiosk. Since it was our first time, we ordered at the counter. I went with build your bohl with the Japanese steak. The steak was salty. For the dressings, I went with the Japanese bbq and sriracha vinaigrette. The Japanese bbq sauce was on a salty side. Sriracha vinaigrette was tangy with a bit of heat. I asked for the dips to be on the side. Everything tasted fresh and healthy. Besides the steak was salty, the whole bowl was good overall. I got a Tofu Build-your-own bohl. My Build-Your-Own Bohl had a base of Half Spring Mix-Brown Rice, Tofu, crispy chickpeas, tomato, cucumber, carrot, zucchini, broccoli, pickled red onion, jalapeno. Sauces were spicy cottage cheese & the non-spicy one + Green goddess dressing & jalapeno ranch. My honest opinion is that it is good, but not life changing. I like seeing that there is a local competitor for other places such as Cava or Chipotle, so I would much rather support this establishment over bigger chains. The protein portion amounts were well done. I think this is a great place for those trying to eat healthier and count macros. Located in the Laguna plaza and idk how I even pass by this place all the time and haven't been here til now!! Plenty of parking in the plaza. When you walk in, you can either stand in line or there's a couple of kiosks to the left of the door upon entrance. Service is very quick, our order was ready in under 10 minutes and we got three "build your own" style bowls. When I found out about this place, I was so elated! It reminds me of cava or like a healthier Chipotle. You select your base of greens, grains, and you can 1/2 portion them as well! Then select your protein. I got the herb chicken and it was good but I liked the spicy blackened chicken more. I tried the Japanese bbq steak and it might've been a little overcooked in my opinion, but the flavor was good. And tons of assorted veggie toppings! It also includes up to two sauces and two sides. I really enjoyed the red pepper hummus and the peri peri sauce. I also got a watermelon mint beverage and it was unsweetened but I still really enjoyed it :) There's plenty of outdoor seating as indoor seating is pretty limited, especially for large groups. The place is nice and clean, modern, and a place you can take someone on a lunch date. They have napkins and utensils for you to grab after you pay. There's indoor and outdoor seating. ! ALSO ! They have an app, if you add what you got, the app will generate macros for you - coolbeans! This is what I got: 1/2 Spring Mix 1/2 Chopped Romaine, 1/2 Japanese BBQ Steak (flavor is not too sweet), 1/2 Grilled Steak (a little dry because it is well done), Black Beans, Fire Roasted Corn, Crispy Chickpeas (crunchy), Roasted Sweet Potato, Diced Jalapeño, Pickled Onions, Kimchi, Roasted Beets, Diced Cucumber, Tzatziki dip (good!), Spicy Cottage Cheese dip (has a lil kick!), Sriracha sauce, and avocado jalapeno sauce. Total, the macros were ~44 grams of protein, ~20 grams of fat, and ~43 grams of carbs. Location is in the plaza of Pho Ivy and Five Guys. Heard of this place from my girlfriend amd was described as a new spin on Chipotle. Bohl has a modern, sleek and clean vibe, mixed with a counter culture type of art work. Which is a nice touch to what you'd expect in that type of environment. I noted the Banksy'esq print that was adorned on one of the walls, with the other nicely framed graffiti style pieces. Came across their Instagram ad and thought their concept reminded me of Cava so I had to give them a try! There was a small line when I arrived but it went by pretty quickly. They also had kiosks for self ordering but I recommend ordering at the counter because it seemed like it was much faster. People who ordered on the kiosks waited a while for their order. I love that they have a tofu option as I'm a vegetarian and so many delicious vegetables toppings! I basically added all their topping options but regretted adding their olives as they made my bowl extremely salty. If you don't like your bowl too salty, I would recommend skipping the olives. I chose their Tzatziki and Garlic Herb Cottage Cheese and both were delicious! I've tried most of their dressings and you can't really go wrong with any of their options! Had a great experience ordering food at Bohl then taking it to go to enjoy at home! It's a large establishment that's similar to Cava and Chipotle! You can order through the staff by waiting in line or ordering through their self service iPad kiosks. I ordered a signature bowl of their Feta late than neva which had white rice, cucumbers, feta, grape tomatoes, pickled onions, and spicy cheese. I got honey mustard as my dressing. It's packed to the brim! So much chicken so I can ate around 30-40 grams of protein with that bowl. Lots of flavor from the sauces and the veggies were so fresh. Very filling and delicious. Finally checked out Bohl and thanks to their app, I was able to get a free kids meal already on my first visit! It was perfect for my kids to share. It's actually not a bad price at $7.95 since it also includes a drink! For myself, I chose to create my own bowl with romaine lettuce. If you have decision paralysis, you can pick from one of their signature bowls. I chose steak for mine so it was the priciest at $15, which seems quite high for a salad but I think that's probably pretty comparable to other similar places currently. I especially enjoyed the options for dips and dressings. I wanted to try them all! The tzatziki was my favorite part, along with the sweet potato topping. As much as I love kimchi, it just didn't go well with the combo of ingredients I picked, plus the spice blend overall has more of a Mediterranean feel and the kimchi flavor didn't have a place there. I made my own bowl with half mixed greens & half white rice with steak. Love the unlimited toppings and all the dip and sauce choices! For protein options they have chicken, steak, or tofu. Also got their pita chips on the side - it came with 4 pieces. They actually were more like pita bread- not crunchy like chips at all. If you like Sweet Green, this place is similar, but with a smaller menu option. The seating is very similar to chipotle. You order on an iPad and everything is packaged to go in paper bags. All of the utensils and bowls are plastic and paper. I personally think that they should have an option for dining in or out so that all these paper bags are not wasted for those that are dining. I ordered off of their signature meal menu and decided to have the ranch bowl which was a salad. The steak cubes were not as tender as I would have liked it, but it was not bad. I chose the garlic cottage cheese for my dressing and it was very garlicky. It was a very good serving, but it is a bit more pricier than sweet green. Sweet green also has more topping choices. The drinks are soft serve you get a cup and you can go get whatever flavored iced tea you would like. I saw an employee refill the bins with water and a concentrate box of lemonade inside of the strawberry lemonade. The unsweetened black tea was on the stronger side, which I liked. The food is unbelieva-BOHL! We came here on a Saturday just after opening and there was a line, but it wasn't too crazy yet. There are 4 tablets you can also do ordering on your own. We probably waited about 10 minutes in line. The staff were very friendly and energetic. There are so many different options. You can select either their signature rice or salad bowls, or you can create your own bowl. If you create your own bowl, the price will depend on your protein selected. Essentially toppings are unlimited! My partner bought Bohl to-go for my first experience, and I had the Romaine Empire. That was delicious and very fresh! It was a very generous serving, and I could not finish it in one go. I really enjoyed the chicken--it was well seasoned and not dry at all. I also really enjoyed the tzatziki, as well. This time, when we ordered in and I got Steak Me Outside. The steak had decent flavor, but I think I liked the chicken better. The steak also was cut in different sizes (some smaller, some larger) and it was a bit chewy. This was a rice bowl and I liked that they had basmati rice as their white rice option, so that it has a lower glycemic index (if you're into that). I added their spicy broccoli (it added a bit of a kick but not too spicy at all). Unfortunately they forgot to add the grape tomatoes to my bowl, so I was wondering why my bowl didn't have the acid factor for balance. I also liked that there was a large scoop of jalapeno avocado in there (I think I overheard that this is an extra charge if it's not already included in your bowl). We also got sea salted pita chips on the side. There were 4 pieces. I was expecting it to be like the bagged pita chips, like super crunchy, but they were actually more like deep fried bread and it was nice and salty, just how I'd prefer! I'd totally get the salted pita chips again. By the time we left, which was about 1 pm, the line was nearing out the door and there was no indoor or outdoor seating, so I would recommend waiting until the hype dies down or going earlier rather than later in the day. I'm hoping they will expand their hours soon, because for now they're mostly open 12-5 pm, which is unfortunate if you want to have dinner here. You can sign up for their rewards program. Overall, the experience was just okay. Nothing was necessarily bad, but nothing really stood out either. The staff didn't seem particularly enthusiastic or engaged, which affected the overall vibe. The biggest disappointment was that many of the meats and toppings were on the colder side than I expected, which took away from the fresh-made experience I was hoping for. That said, it's still a newer business, and I know there can be growing pains when a restaurant first opens. I didn't bring my concerns up during the visit, even though I probably should have, so I'll keep that in mind next time. Recently open so the spot was super busy on a Saturday. Luckily there's ton of kiosk available to order so you don't really have to wait in line. Went to the bookstore nearby while we wait for our food. Got two different bowl but we add a bunch of extra stuff to it so it doesn't look very pretty. If you order a drink there's a cup in the bag so make sure to get your self serve drink before leaving. We thought the food was decent but wasn't wow yet. They're still new so I'm sure things will develop. I do like the customizable options they have. Will try again maybe later. Great service, but the food texture needs work. I had the Lettuce Enter the Dragon and my son had the Steak me outside. While the staff was amazing--remaking a bowl immediately when I noticed a sauce error--the vegetables were a letdown. Both the broccoli and sweet potatoes were chopped so small they felt mushy rather than fresh. The flavors are good, but I'd prefer larger vegetable cuts and the option to get sauce on the side to keep the bowl from getting soggy if you aren't eating it all at once. read more

So helpful, sweet, which created warm atmosphere and a great experience. Good amount of indoor seating, however, all pretty close knit. And loud inside while there's a rush of customers. I only heard about this place from my friend, who used to work for the owners here. When I was told it would be potential competition for Chipotle, the place I have been loyal to since high school, I just had to give it a try. Overall, I loved my experience. I showed up about 15 minutes before they opened, and there was already a decent line. Once they opened the doors, it moved at a steady pace. I'll admit it wasn't the fastest, but it was their second day open, so I'm obligated to show nothing but grace for the staff, who were very welcoming and eager to help explain how things worked. The puns on the menu really caught my attention. I elected to build my bohl from scratch, but got a Feta late than neva for my husband. I got light rice and the rest as greens for my base, and then chicken for my protein. I was debating getting a double portion, but when I saw how much I got initially, I was immediately convinced not to (huge plus). The variety of toppings here reminded me so much of a poke place. They advertise unlimited toppings, but recommend 6 as the sweet spot so you can still put a lid on your bohl. Since it was my first time, I still asked for a little bit of everything since everything looked so fresh and delicious. I was particularly fond of the roasted sweet potato since it added a nice texture against my feta, roasted red pepper hummus, and spicy feta. You get up to 2 dips, and I ended up getting them added on top, but if you can, I'd recommend getting them on the side, especially if you're taking the bohl to-go. My husband's bohl sat for a while before he ate it, and the dips and dressing really drowned everything. I only tried the green goddess dressing this time around as well, and was hooked. I have not had the time to come in so I did a Doordash order as I saw that it was slow and the service would be fast. I placed my order online and it got to my house so fast that my food was in stellar condition! I was so impressed with the to go bags, plateware and utensils. The food was good! However, it was frustrating that the in-store kiosk orders are placed in the same queue as online pickup orders like DoorDash, UberEats, etc. We waited 30 minutes for our food. The service was very quick and while the a/c was clearly in full blast, the decor is lighthearted and the outdoor patio with huge umbrellas was wonderful to enjoy lunch at. They have several pre-selected options to choose from but I went for the build your own option. The chicken was perfectly spiced and calmed down with the addition of the veggies. The corn was a little mealy but everything else was cooked to perfection. especially the roasted zucchini. I added the red bell pepper hummus that was amazing just in its own and the tzatziki which had well balanced fresh flavor was good! Put the chipotle sauce to top it off. They have a very broad menu across several cuisines so the options are endless. Will be back. Was easily two meals for $16! Skip the pita chips. Tried out this place the first week it opened when it was still busy. Decided to get a preset one since I wasn't sure what I wanted in my bowl but ended up customizing it anyways. I think because staff was still new and it was crowded, they might have gotten overwhelmed and confused because as I was going through the line telling them what I wanted, they almost charged me extra for avocado when it already came with the preset toppings. Anyways, the food was actually really good. We tried the pita chips too and enjoyed those.
