Coming here since 2017, "frequent flyers" driving from Rocklin... Food: OK, when compared to previous dining experience over the years. Ambiance: Always good Service: Great, until we received the bill and the Server's response to our request for a correction We ordered the Pork Fusilli, and a Sicillian pizza, added a $5 Salad (pix attached). Server gave us the bill, upon review, we noticed a "1/2 Caesar Salad" and a corresponding $13 charge, not $5... Certainly NOT what we ordered . We explained to the Server the error and she apologized, said the bill will be corrected. Upon the Server's return, she said she was sorry and informed us we ordered the Caesar, not the regular $5 salad. Really? Instead of correcting their mistake, we now found ourselves having to explain to the Server, twice what actually happened while she took our order, I pointed out to their menu and I said "we wanted to add the $5.00 salad". That was it! We never asked for the Caesar, and specially a "half-order". The Server emphatically refused to correct the mistake. Obviously her decision would have never be my choice, had I been the Server, or the owner of the restaurant. Appetizers! [Elk Grove CA] Came here with a friend for some drinks and apps (we just missed happy hour). We sat at the bar and ordered a Combination Pizza and Bocce Balls. Um, sorry, I didn't expect for these balls to be that big but I was good with a pair. My friend had one and I had the last three to take home and enjoy later. I'm not doing too good with the wordings here so forgive me. LoL! These are made of lightly fried pizza dough, garlic butter, parmesan, and basil. Yes, they were delicious. I'm not a pizza fan but I liked the pepp, Molinari Italian sausage and cremini mushrooms on the Combination pizza. I plucked out the onions and olives. The gal tending the bar was amazing. I had never been to this location before and we had a family birthday so we tried it. We were able to get a table for 5 immediately at 6:00pm on a Thursday. Unfortunately the only table they offered us was immediately inside the front door and hostess table so our meal and celebration were interrupted by large parties, baby strollers, heat blasts from the front door being held open by patrons coming and going and waiting. Very poor placement of a large table for 6. Food was adequate, it was ready quickly. The service staff were good. Really enjoyed my experience at Paesanos! I got the fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken and it was creamy and flavorful without being too heavy. We also tried the calamari fritti, which was crispy and came with really good sauces. The portions were a good size and everything came out fresh. Our second time coming here, the food is delicious and service is just as amazing! They offer indoor and outdoor seating, we chose to sit inside which is dimly lit, multiple tvs, such a nice ambiance for a dinner date or even casual. The outdoor seating is shaded, little fans to avoid any bugs, they're so courteous and the overall vibe is just great. The bocce balls are our favorite appetizer, Fettuccine Arrostiti is my favorite. Came on a Wednesday for dinner and love that they do all day happy hour on Wednesdays. It was busy with a wait of about 30 minutes for an indoor table or the option to sit outside right away. It was a bit chilly so we opted to wait for an indoor seat. Got the usual Polenta Fries and Fettuccini Arostitti with a house salad w/ their house made balsamic vinaigrette. I had the Fettuccine Arrostiti and it was really good. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the flavors were rich without being too heavy. Definitely one of those dishes you keep eating even after you're full.Service was friendly and laid-back, didn't feel rushed at all which made the whole experience better. We were craving italian on a random monday and when our usual spot was closed, we almost went home. Glad we didn't! Paesano's is one of those places that's been around forever, but that for whatever reason we just never got to try. There is indoor and outdoor seating with heaters for the cold months. We sat inside, and while it was noisy, we had no issues talking to each other without being detracted. I started with a Blackberry Sidecar, and Abigail warned me that it was more bourbon forward. I don't know what others are expecting for her to have to warn me, but it was PERFECT. The fried ravioli is their most popular starter for a reason. It's basic, with a clever spinach flavor, but the sauce carries it to victory. My wife got the lemon and pistachio linguini, and was able to substitute chicken for the prawns without a flinch from our server. It was tasty, but a bit light on flavor. Adding some salt and chili flakes helped a lot! While my hot honey pizza could have used some extra basil, it was incredibly flavorful. Abigail recommended I try it with their house ranch, and while I wasn't initially not on board, it grew on me! This is the perfect place to satiate an italian craving without worrying about an overly complicated menu or paying an arm and a leg. Sunday dinner with mom, it was super busy! Got a low-top table indoors as the booths and high-tops were full, and the patio was too breezy (a.k.a. allergies). We each started with a mocktail, mom got the prickly pear agave one and I got the ginger peach sweet and sour one. To each their own, I thought mine was great, but the prickly pear one was sweeter, prettier color though. Mom ordered the Italian Cheeses teak tri tip sandwich with a cup of the tomato basil soup rather than salad. I had the pork fusilli and man the habanero was kicking! We ordered the Vodka Parmesano Sando (parm chicken was a bit thin), Italian cheesesteak Sando and a simple pizza with only beyond meat crumbles, artichoke hearts and cheese. The sandos were good (killer French roll) and the pizza was ok (toppings were skimpy and the crust lacked the crispy edges; could've been in the oven another couple of minutes). I always love this location more than their midtown one. The parking and crowd is less overstimulating, and they have an outside waiting area if you're waiting for a table. The food here never fails me too! Everytime I come here, I like to try something different. Yesterday, I tried the tortellini formaggio. It was flavorful and creamy inside. I love crispy thin crust pizza with wuality toppings...like Monilari sausage (as I lived for years in SF North Beach a few blocks from the Molinari Deli). I couldn't decide where to take my mom for Mother's Day. The request was to find a place closer to her house. Her favorite is Thai food and pasta. I wanted to take her somewhere special and I came across Paesanos. And boy, was I glad I picked this place. Google says it opens at 11:30 and being Mother's Day they opened a little earlier. Our server Donna was simply so amazing. She checked up on us all the time, gave us a movie recommendation, helped us pronounce Italian words. She was great. The food was delicious. The outdoor patio was nice, however, there was a bunch of little bugs flying around- but I can't complain much with all the plants around. Our server was great, very nice and friendly. I originally ordered a lemon pasta that wasn't my taste, and they were able to get me another dish that was quite tasty- the carbonara with grilled chicken. I asked our hostess for a recommendation and she recommended the Pork Fusilli. That dish is a must try if you're looking for something spicy! I would definitely get that again. We ended the dinner with tiramisu, which I thought was good. Paesanos is a place that just doesn't miss when it comes to delicious Italian cuisine. For many years I've dined at the downtown location and tbh I did not realize they also had a spot in Elk Grove. I recently checked out the EG location with my family for a birthday party and I was happy to enjoy the same delicious meal I've come to love. My favorite go to is the Spaghetti Carbonara. So rich and creamy and you could never go wrong with bacon amiright? This with a side of bocce balls and then another side of bocce balls (just keep them coming) and you're guaranteed to leave this place full to your desire. Our service was great. Our server was friendly and was happy to participate in our family's dinner shenanigans. Revision: Thankfully, we gave Paesano's another chance after our bad take-out experience during the COVID and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner on their lovely patio. Service was fantastic, food was wonderful, and the patio is exceptional. We constantly love our experiences at Paesanos. Elk Grove has few a restaurants that are as consistent with the quality and flavor of the food that Paesanos has. We have chosen to go on many date nights here for this reason and it is our go to. We love to sit outside and when the heaters are needed the staff is more than happy to accommodate. We always have a friendly waiter or waitress who makes great recommendations. Drinks are always balanced and the bill is never more than expected. Overall a great pick for the location.
