    Steak Salad
    Amy T.

Stopped in for late lunch. Found parking easily on this visit. Ordered at counter. Grabbed drinks and utensils. Food arrived shortly after. Tried the steak salad and tri tip plate. Love their salads. The tri tip was seasoned well. Mashed potatoes were yummy. Their garlic fries are better. Will be back!

Consistent food, good service, loud during rush hours. I wouldn't sit indoor if you're trying to have a conversation over lunch, it is too loud. Outdoor is nice, but can be hot. The chimichurri steak sandwich is delicious, but I had to ask for extra pickled onions because they only put like 3 inside. Literally. The urban fries are my favorite. It's such a delicious combo. The tri tip sandwich you can't go wrong with. The kids meals are delicious, not pictured. My son loved the chicken strips and the turkey and mashed potatoes. I love coming here for their sandwiches, but the star of my cravings are these fries. Would recommend you give it a shot if you've never tried it & like a little kick.

Not sure why this restaurant has an overall rating of 3 stars. The restaurant is clean, service was fast, and food was delicious so I gave it 5 stars. I made my own salad and added avocados. It was very tasty and had just the right amount of dressing. Portion size was perfect too! My group also got the spicy buffalo chicken sandwich, turkey plate, tomato bisque, garlic fries and urban fries. All very tasty and portion size was great! Will definitely come again to try the other items!

I haven't been to Jack's Urban Eats in years, probably 7-8 years. This place always appears to be busy with a full parking lot. Inside you order and pay at the counter, staff members prepare your food orders and bring it to your table. I think the order took 10 minutes. I ordered a turkey, cranberry sauce, green apple, Brie cheese, mixed greens and onion sandwich on thick, toasted wheat bread. Sandwich was huge, tasted fresh and all the ingredients were flavorful. I ate half. I also ordered Garlic FrIes which were superb, again very generous serving size for the small order. I brought half of the sandwich and half of the fries home; my eyes were too big. The restaurant is organized with drinks, silverware, napkins and condiments along the east wall. Friendly, professional staff members, kitchen staff and table bussers. What a good experience with great food.

    Chimichurri Steak Bowl - New!

Service was awesome! First dinner here while visiting family here in Elk Grove. My chimichurri steak bowl was amazing! The garlic fries had fresh garlic & the portion size was huge!! Only reason I'm giving it 4 stars was because my brother's medium rare tri tip (not pictured) wasn't super pink. My steak didn't have an option on how to cook it and it was more pink than his. Still great place to eat.

Haven't been here in awhile but I enjoyed my salad. I created my own with no protein. I added up to 6 toppings - mushrooms, beets x2, corn, jicama, caramelized seeds with arugula and dill dressing. Loved the caramelized seeds were really good. Staff were friendly. Parking is ok but it gets busy around lunch. Love their outdoor seating.

Tri tip with mashed, mac, and cozy bread

Came here on a wednesday evening around 6pm. When we arrived, it wasn't too busy. We were able to get served quickly and plenty of seating was available. It was a warm spring evening. So the outdoor seating was enjoyable. We had a tri tip plate with mashed potatoes, cheesy bread and mac and cheese. I don't know if it's me or the food at jack's.Just doesn't seem to be flavored. As well as it used to be. I found the tri tip without too much flavor the mac and cheese was not cheesy and it also came out cold. And the mashed potatoes were good, except the gravy didn't have a lot of flavor to it. The cheesy bread was excellent. We also had a salmon cobb and a chicken teriyaki salad. Heard the same thing about the salmon and the chicken. More flavor/spices please.

First time here and it was a great menu and selections. The service was very quick and professional. They were quick putting together our lunch! The ambiance is very modern and clean. All staff members were very helpful! Give this restaurant a chance, you won't be disappointed! We enjoyed our lunch!

We met a friend for lunch here at Jack's Urban Eats. We came in and it was busy. We grabbed a menu and looked it over while in line to order. You get to watch the young chefs make other people's salads and sandwiches while waiting. As you make it to the cashier, that's when we made our order. We paid and received the order number sign so they can find you! The inside were completely full of people. We ended up eating outside!! We enjoyed our build our own salad options. You get to pick your greens options and then six other add ons. Then you may pay for the protein of your choice option. Our friend had the blackened salmon salad. We were told it was excellent!! We built our own and it was delicious as well. We were done eating and just catching up on life when a young man came and asked us if he could take our dishes. He was very friendly and said he also enjoyed the salads here as well. Overall, a refreshing healthier options for eating out for us. Friendly staff. Shared parking with other businesses. Clean bathroom was a BONUS for us. Prices are competitive with other eateries. We will be back....

Let's call this visit our "Do Over"! Food was much better this time. Hubby had his usual favorite Turkey Plate with mashed potatoes, & Mac n cheese. He had to tell the cashier Chris 5 several times that he wanted dark thigh meat. Another cashier explained it & showed carver what to give us. He said it was the best he's had here. I had a chicken club and it was perfect! I added your bomb cranberry sauce to it & devoured it. The ambiance was the usual, good but a little loud. Thank you!

We came on a rainy Friday afternoon. They were busy but not crazy. Plenty of parking with lots of room for eat in or to go. You order and then they give you a number and take to your table. They have soda machine, teas and wine as well as beer. We ordered the mac and cheese as well as garlic fried. Buffalo chicken sandwich and the Asian chicken salad. The small fries plate was big with lots of garlic and crispy. The Mac was and cheese was creamy but did need more salt and pepper in our opinion. My Asian chicken salad was light and juicy yet very filling. We had some Chardonnay with our food and the chicken sandwich was great. Nice staff and efficient service.

Very spacious restaurant with a bunch of seating. You go in and order at the front and you pick your own table. I thought the place was very clean and maintained. We ordered the Urban fries to share and I got my own Chimichurri Steak sandwich. The fries were too salty for my taste, but they were crispy and blue cheese was good. I really liked the sandwich, it came with a fair amount of meat. Everything paired nicely together with the acidity of the onion and bitterness of the arugula with the steak, cheese, and aioli. I also like this spot because it's next to Handels, and you could get ice cream after.

Is the Elk Grove location dog friendly?

Yes, for patio seating they are.

Been trying to call this place to see if they are OPEN Easter Sunday 04/21/19. I try 5 times no luck. Please let me know?

They are not opened on Easter

Is there a different number? Ive been trying to call for an hour now--- no answer.

They do not answer the phones ever, at least in my experience. They get really busy and there is no one appointed to answer calls...

Much of the interior consists of plain, single-color walls without much décor, giving it a blank and somewhat incomplete feel. Service: Friendly but slow and somewhat disorganized. * At check-in, the host added my name (Lin) to the waitlist and said I would receive a text when my table was ready. However, the notification arrived under a different name (Nancy), so I had to double-check whether the table was actually for us. * Our server was pleasant, but service felt scattered. She stopped by to check on us, but before we could respond, she walked over to another table and continued a conversation there. When she returned, she said she would bring water, even though we were already ready to order. It took a while for the water to arrive. * Later, we requested a water refill, which she acknowledged, but it appeared to be forgotten. The refill only came when we were getting ready to leave, at which point she apologized. Although it was a Sunday brunch service, the restaurant did not seem busy enough to fully explain the level of disorganization. Food: Breakfast is available all day. I recommend the Eggs Benedict (weekends only), which comes in several varieties: A. Bacon, spinach, and tomato Benedict B. Traditional ham Benedict C. Cali Benedict with avocado, tomatoes, and arugula D. Smoked Salmon Benedict The Club Sandwich also comes with a generous portion size. A nice convenience is that the restaurant allows split bills, and guests can pay individually through the Toast app.

My husband & I live in the Monterey area, but our elderly moms live in Galt & Pioneer. So, with busy lives we decided to try & give them a Mother's Day they'd really like. I was searching up restaurants that were doing Mother's Day events in their area. I didn't want to do a buffet or be in a place that was going to be so packed no one could hear each other. Tough challenge. But I found the Mother's Day brunch event at the Brick House, so decided to make reservations. I personally liked that you had to leave a deposit to hold the reservation. That tells me they're serious about making sure it was not overcrowded. The menu was limited due to it being a special event, but the items to choose from seemed interesting. Plus the bottomless mimosas & bloody Mary's was a big bonus. Our reservation was at 10:15AM. I'll start off with the review by mentioning my dad. He is a grumpy old guy who doesn't get out much. I've had to "warn" wait staff to ignore him; that he's a grump & won't be paying the bill, we will, so to not let any comments phase them, & we will try to keep him in line. Luckily he doesn't know what yelp is! When we were reviewing the menu the night before, he made the comments, "weird menu, it will be crowded, bottomless drinks? That means they will come by one time with tiny glasses." So we arrive a little early but are immediately seated in a very quiet area with only a couple of other tables occupied. The Grumpy old man: "see. They stuck us where we won't get any service." As soon as we sat down our waitress came over & immediately wished us all a happy mother's Day & could she get us a Bloody Mary or mimosa & that they were bottomless. And that she'd also be bringing our pastry board. We ordered our drinks & my dad made the comments, loud enough for the waitress to hear, "ok girls. Your one small mimosa will be coming out along with cold donuts. you'll never be offered another one, so enjoy." Within a few minutes us moms got our mimosas. In large wine glasses, filled to the top. Grumpy old man got a Bloody Mary. Nice selection of Pastries were hot out of the oven. He Made the comment, "great, a weak drink." (He hadn't taken a sip yet.") We told the waitress we would need a few minutes to look at the menu, she said fine. No rush. She came back & saw my mom & dad were nearly done with their drinks. Offered another while she took our order. My dad replied: "no. I'm driving." Translation: it's a strong drink. We went to order & my dad ordered the eggs Benedict with pork belly. also muttering it sounded weird, and it would be a shame to throw out such expensive food. He ate every bite & told the waitress it was "ok." (He rarely eats all his food.) Translation: it was probably one of the best he's had. I had the vegetable quiche & it was very good. The mimosas kept being offered & were flowing for the moms well after our food was finished which for it being a special, reservation only event was a pleasant surprise. We finely told the waitress at round 4 us girls were done. The restaurant remained quiet & when we left, it was busy, but not overly so. The manager, Chris, was greeting people & wishing the moms a happy Mother's Day. We were there for a couple of hours & never felt rushed to leave. When the bill came & my husband went to pay it, my dad told him to make sure the tip wasn't included before not leaving one. The waitress had to put up with us girls Constantly getting mimosas without asking for them. Translation: he felt like he had a nice time, the waitress made sure us moms had a nice time & wanted to make sure she got a tip. Us girls decided that we wanted to come back for regular happy hour/dinner next time we visited. My dad grumbled that he'd have to come too so we'd have a ride back. Translation: he wants to come back. Lol It was pricey, but worth every penny for the wonderful Mother's Day we were able to give our older moms. I'd definitely do it again next year if they have it. Thank you!

We waited 30 minutes to get our order. Cell reception sucks so you can't really play with your phone while waiting for your food which it made it more excruciating. Had to step outside. The worst part was when I got home. Sweet potatoes fries were super soggy so I had to air fry it. What's unforgivable was that on my Po boy, they gave me a tiny strip of burnt chicken!!! It was super dry too The tartar sauce on the sandwich was good so I give them that, and Country fried steak was decent... but when you mess up the one thing you should be good at and you make guest wait 30+ minutes for burnt food, that's something you can't overlook. We had the chance to try them when they were good but the quality has gone downhill while price has increased. I won't be coming back. Tip: call in advance to order or expect to wait a lifetime. Maybe ask if it would be faster to dine in? They close at 3pm too. Check your chicken before you go home. $16 for po boy not worth it. Don't upgrade to soggy sweet potatoes fries.

The menu is customized to say our names and 5th anniversary on top. My Husband's name was misspelled, but we had a good laugh about that. Drink were yummy. The location was beautiful. Only other thing was that we were told they take a photo of us and put it into a keepsake, which we didn't get to unfortunately experience. Someone offered to take a photo of us on one of our phones.

We had checked online and even called and were told no tables, but figured maybe we could grab a spot at the bar. When we walked in, I thought, " What's the harm in asking"...and somehow a table for two had just opened up. One of those meant-to-be moments. I started with a martini, which was great, and I ordered the macadamia crusted halibut special with asparagus and mashed potatoes. The fish itself was really good. The potatoes needed a little help, though. I definitely wish I had asked for extra sauce and a little salt and pepper, but I did appreciate that they tasted homemade with those bigger chunks. We also got the French onion soup to start, and that was so good. It had little tips of filet in it, and honestly, that might have been my favorite part of the whole meal. My husband ordered the stuffed chicken, and this is where things kind of went sideways. The chicken was really dry, and then halfway through, he bit down on what looked like a cherry pit. Definitely not something you expect, and kind of a mood killer. We called the waiter over, and they were very apologetic, and the service the entire night really was great. But between the dry chicken and that surprise, we were kind of done at that point. We were planning on dessert, but just didn't even feel like it anymore. That said, we've been here before and have had really great meals, which is why I wouldn't write it off. The service was great, everything was clean, and it still has that nice, classic feel. Also, a side note, I used the restroom before we left, and I have to say, as a mom, seeing an actual changing station with drawers and supplies made me so happy. I remember those flimsy fold down tables and being nervous using them, so this felt like such a thoughtful touch. They even had a bidet, which I tried to check out, but it wasn't working. Helpful tip: Get the French onion soup, and if your dish comes with a sauce...ask for extra. Not a perfect night, but enough good here that we'd come back again.
