You order and find a seat and they'll bring your order to your table. We had shared the family urban fries .. that was ok.. I felt like the fries could be better.. it wasn't as freshly fried so it felt cold ... My Chinese chicken salad though was great! I don't know if they've changed something about it but it was so refreshing and the dressing was delicious! My hubby had the bbq steak salad .. that one is always really good. Consistent food, good service, loud during rush hours. I wouldn't sit indoor if you're trying to have a conversation over lunch, it is too loud. Outdoor is nice, but can be hot. The chimichurri steak sandwich is delicious, but I had to ask for extra pickled onions because they only put like 3 inside. Literally. The urban fries are my favorite. It's such a delicious combo. The tri tip sandwich you can't go wrong with. The kids meals are delicious, not pictured. My son loved the chicken strips and the turkey and mashed potatoes. Not sure why this restaurant has an overall rating of 3 stars. The restaurant is clean, service was fast, and food was delicious so I gave it 5 stars. I made my own salad and added avocados. It was very tasty and had just the right amount of dressing. Portion size was perfect too! My group also got the spicy buffalo chicken sandwich, turkey plate, tomato bisque, garlic fries and urban fries. All very tasty and portion size was great! Love the food, love being about to sit outside an enjoy the weather. The service is always great no complaints there. The only problem is the constant Uber Eats and Door dash pick ups and they park in the red zone right next to the outdoor seating so as we eat we get to enjoy their exhaust and their loud rap music with swear words while they go inside and get their pick up. I haven't been to Jack's Urban Eats in years, probably 7-8 years. This place always appears to be busy with a full parking lot. Inside you order and pay at the counter, staff members prepare your food orders and bring it to your table. I think the order took 10 minutes. I ordered a turkey, cranberry sauce, green apple, Brie cheese, mixed greens and onion sandwich on thick, toasted wheat bread. Sandwich was huge, tasted fresh and all the ingredients were flavorful. I ate half. I also ordered Garlic FrIes which were superb, again very generous serving size for the small order. I brought half of the sandwich and half of the fries home; my eyes were too big. The restaurant is organized with drinks, silverware, napkins and condiments along the east wall. Friendly, professional staff members, kitchen staff and table bussers. Came here on a wednesday evening around 6pm. When we arrived, it wasn't too busy. We were able to get served quickly and plenty of seating was available. It was a warm spring evening.So the outdoor seating was enjoyable. We had a tri tip plate with mashed potatoes, cheesy bread and mac and cheese. I don't know if it's me or the food at jack's.Just doesn't seem to be flavored.As well as it used to be. I found the tri tip without too much flavor the mac and cheese was not cheesy and it also came out cold.And the mashed potatoes were good, except the gravy didn't have a lot of flavor to it. This is our go to place on our weeknight dinners post work out. We love the many salad options, especially the create your own which you can mix it up with whatever 6 ingredients you desire, so you can literally have a variety of different salads every day if you desire. We met a friend for lunch here at Jack's Urban Eats. We came in and it was busy. We grabbed a menu and looked it over while in line to order. You get to watch the young chefs make other people's salads and sandwiches while waiting. As you make it to the cashier, that's when we made our order. We paid and received the order number sign so they can find you! The inside were completely full of people. We ended up eating outside!! We enjoyed our build our own salad options. You get to pick your greens options and then six other add ons. Then you may pay for the protein of your choice option. Our friend had the blackened salmon salad. We were told it was excellent!! We built our own and it was delicious as well. We were done eating and just catching up on life when a young man came and asked us if he could take our dishes. We came on a rainy Friday afternoon. They were busy but not crazy. Plenty of parking with lots of room for eat in or to go. You order and then they give you a number and take to your table. They have soda machine, teas and wine as well as beer. We ordered the mac and cheese as well as garlic fried. Buffalo chicken sandwich and the Asian chicken salad. The small fries plate was big with lots of garlic and crispy. The Mac was and cheese was creamy but did need more salt and pepper in our opinion. We ordered the Urban fries to share and I got my own Chimichurri Steak sandwich. The fries were too salty for my taste, but they were crispy and blue cheese was good. Friends from Sac just loved to Vegas have always talked about Jacks urban eats. It one of their favorite local spots to each. So just happen they back visiting and able to have lunch with them post race day. Guess only local chain. They have few locations throughout Sac. I went to the Elk Grove location. Sometimes I try a Place that has average to lower ratings to see if folks are being petty or not fair to establishment. Unfortunately, these lower Reviews are accurate. The service not the best. Love seeing a fresh whole turkey on the cutting board vs. processed meats. Carved turkey and tri -tip sandos were moist and the Chinese chicken salad was good, especially the dressing; love the jicama! When I said I do not want the edamame, they rolled their eyes and deleted it. I'm ok if you need to substitute but let the customer know. And no people, edamame and peas are not the same thing! We haven't been here in forever. I ordered a make your own salad with turkey. Dark meat. It was good. I was feeling salad and it was good for that craving. My wife got the turkey club sandwich which was ok but they forgot the pepper jack cheese. I had to ask for it and they brought out a side for her. We tried the two lemonades. Jack's urban eats has normally been one of my favorite places to eat over the years and I've been to several locations. Laguna being one of my favorites, however, I have to say in recent times at least the last two times including this one so let's say the last three times I've been disappointed. I feel like for what they charge for the food. The portions could be better. The quality could be better as well. The staff is great don't get me wrong. They always have been very friendly and normally I order to go. However, for the almost $27 that I spent including the drink that I did not take a picture of, I feel like I should've had way better quality food. The side of roasted veggies for the portion given, and what was charged as a joke. The quality of this chimichurri steak sandwich, I probably can't even give this portion away to a homeless person. For me to give such a bad review, it really hurts, because I really like Jack's. I normally get to go, the create your own salad with tri-tip added. But when I looked how the portions of the tri-tip have even been more of a sample side. It's led me to not wanna order that because for $18 I'm mainly getting lettuce and even the veggies portions have been minimal. Reading the other reviews it seems that the overall theme is the quality has gone down however the service has been great. I understand prices have to increase, but can the quality at least be there? I haven't been here in years but I'm glad I came again. Jack's has plenty of indoor and some outdoor seating. It's very open on in the inside and spacious - good for groups, couple of friends reuniting, or even solo dining. The staff here remind me of the staff at Trader Joe's, they got the chill unbothered vibes, but are also friendly. This time I got the Santa Fe Chicken Salad which I have never tried here but it was perfect! I love all the veggies incorporated in there as well as the dressing. It's not a typical Santa Fe salad like at other restaurants but it was really good. The chicken was so tender. Most places that have chicken in their salads are usually dry but not here (': Also got the jack's urban fries which are a classic, still tastes the same and good.
