    BBQ Tri Tip Sandwich
    Edwin C.

Service 2.7- straightforward ordering and friendly service Food 3.0 Sunday night dinner before putting my daughter back on a plane. So she chooses Jack's. We arrive and it was perfect weather to eat outside so we quickly order: x2 BMLT sandwiches, BBQ Tri-tip sandwich, and Urban fries, then waited til food arrives. The urban fries show up first (like an appetizer), then a 10-15 wait until the sandwiches are served. IMO our food should have arrived together or at least a few minutes apart not 10-15 minutes. The BMLT were nicely toasted and my girls enjoyed their food, while my Tri-tip sandwich was overall cold except for the Tri-tip (warm but not hot) which was a disappointment. The bun was cool and not toasted or warmed up on the grill top and the slice of cheese used was cold like it was just pulled from the refrigerator while the lettuce and tomato was more at room temp; so when eating the sandwich that warm, then cold in one bite confused my taste buds or was the kitchen just ready to go home? The best part of my meal was spending time with my family while eating the fries because it was warm and crispy, even though served earlier than expected.

I enjoy coming here for the salads, especially the Chinese chicken and the Western BBQ steak. The portions are generous, and each salad is loaded with a great mix of ingredients. The Jack's Urban Fries are also excellent--definitely worth trying. Service is quick, and you can conveniently order online for pickup. There's also plenty of seating available, both indoors and outside.

I'm so so on this one. The salad was fine. It wasn't bad. Just didn't think it was something I'd likely crave. The chicken texture threw me off, it was crumbly and mushy at the same time. The salad mixture was fine as well wasn't terrible and the salad was fresh enough. The dressing was pretty good. Honestly I'd most likely stick with the urban fries, I've had them before and they're not bad at all. Service was like any fast food place I guess, just took the order and went on about our day. I will say the place was pretty clean.

Haven't had lunch here in awhile... the place is always so nice and clean. Plenty of booths and seating area both outside and in. Service is always so nice and quick. You order and find a seat and they'll bring your order to your table. We had shared the family urban fries .. that was ok.. I felt like the fries could be better.. it wasn't as freshly fried so it felt cold ... My Chinese chicken salad though was great! I don't know if they've changed something about it but it was so refreshing and the dressing was delicious! My hubby had the bbq steak salad .. that one is always really good. A refreshing side to lunch for sure.

This review is for the new Delta Shores location. My first time at any Jacks Urban Eats and wasn't impressed. Ordered garlic fries and they were undercooked and greasy. My friend had two overcooked turkey wings without the drum piece? Served cold and the bones were showing through the skin which indicated uneven cooking. I had the tri tip sandwich on brioche which I had to return twice due to being cold and missing g ingredients. I lost it when the server literally dropped the plate in front of me and said "enjoy"after I explained my dissatisfaction. I was told they would remake the order but instead they warmed the same sandwich and returned it to me. Servers and buss staff gave us rude looks while we ate. Being a new location is no excuse for the sub par food and rude behavior. Do better.

Stopped in for late lunch. Found parking easily on this visit. Ordered at counter. Grabbed drinks and utensils. Food arrived shortly after. Tried the steak salad and tri tip plate. Love their salads. The tri tip was seasoned well. Mashed potatoes were yummy. Their garlic fries are better. Will be back!

Not sure why this restaurant has an overall rating of 3 stars. The restaurant is clean, service was fast, and food was delicious so I gave it 5 stars. I made my own salad and added avocados. It was very tasty and had just the right amount of dressing. Portion size was perfect too! My group also got the spicy buffalo chicken sandwich, turkey plate, tomato bisque, garlic fries and urban fries. All very tasty and portion size was great! Will definitely come again to try the other items!

I haven't been to Jack's Urban Eats in years, probably 7-8 years. This place always appears to be busy with a full parking lot. Inside you order and pay at the counter, staff members prepare your food orders and bring it to your table. I think the order took 10 minutes. I ordered a turkey, cranberry sauce, green apple, Brie cheese, mixed greens and onion sandwich on thick, toasted wheat bread. Sandwich was huge, tasted fresh and all the ingredients were flavorful. I ate half. I also ordered Garlic FrIes which were superb, again very generous serving size for the small order. I brought half of the sandwich and half of the fries home; my eyes were too big. The restaurant is organized with drinks, silverware, napkins and condiments along the east wall. Friendly, professional staff members, kitchen staff and table bussers. What a good experience with great food.

Consistent food, good service, loud during rush hours. I wouldn't sit indoor if you're trying to have a conversation over lunch, it is too loud. Outdoor is nice, but can be hot. The chimichurri steak sandwich is delicious, but I had to ask for extra pickled onions because they only put like 3 inside. Literally. The urban fries are my favorite. It's such a delicious combo. The tri tip sandwich you can't go wrong with. The kids meals are delicious, not pictured. My son loved the chicken strips and the turkey and mashed potatoes. I love coming here for their sandwiches, but the star of my cravings are these fries. Would recommend you give it a shot if you've never tried it & like a little kick.

Haven't been here in awhile but I enjoyed my salad. I created my own with no protein. I added up to 6 toppings - mushrooms, beets x2, corn, jicama, caramelized seeds with arugula and dill dressing. Loved the caramelized seeds were really good. Staff were friendly. Parking is ok but it gets busy around lunch. Love their outdoor seating.

This is my first time coming here and the food was pretty good for its price. I got the Chimichurri Steak Sandwich which had decent flavor and everything tasted fresh. However, the sandwich could've had more flavor and the meat was slightly too tough to chew. The server and cashier both had good hospitality. I would've gave this place a higher review if I came here more often to try the other options they offer. This place has a clean and nice ambiance since they offer both indoor and outdoor seating and the restrooms weren't dirty at all.

Came here on a wednesday evening around 6pm. When we arrived, it wasn't too busy. We were able to get served quickly and plenty of seating was available. It was a warm spring evening. So the outdoor seating was enjoyable. We had a tri tip plate with mashed potatoes, cheesy bread and mac and cheese. I don't know if it's me or the food at jack's.Just doesn't seem to be flavored. As well as it used to be. I found the tri tip without too much flavor the mac and cheese was not cheesy and it also came out cold. And the mashed potatoes were good, except the gravy didn't have a lot of flavor to it. The cheesy bread was excellent. We also had a salmon cobb and a chicken teriyaki salad. Heard the same thing about the salmon and the chicken. More flavor/spices please.

All staff members were very helpful! Give this restaurant a chance, you won't be disappointed! We enjoyed our lunch!

Is the Elk Grove location dog friendly?

Yes, for patio seating they are.

Been trying to call this place to see if they are OPEN Easter Sunday 04/21/19. I try 5 times no luck. Please let me know?

They are not opened on Easter

They do not answer the phones ever, at least in my experience. They get really busy and there is no one appointed to answer calls...

Oh my, the French toast is a huge portion and beautifully presented with a side of whipped cream and strawberry compote on top. It's not as sweet as it looks (perfect for my taste) and the toast had crispy edges. Sausage was good but needed to be cooked just a bit longer, so you get that snap when you bite it. Scrambled eggs were good too. My husband got the chorizo burrito with tater tots on the side. He liked the burrito but said it did have little kick to it. The tots were fried to perfection and not oily. My brother ordered the "Dad's Mash Up," all kinds of stuff (breakfast meats and cheese) served on top of tots and covered in gravy. It was a pile of food, no complaints from my bro. Service was great and welcoming as soon as we walked in. No wait on a Wednesday morning, but I imagine there is on the weekends. I let our server know it was my brother's birthday, and after we were finishing up our meals, they brought him a complimentary small plate of the strawberry French toast! That was a fantastic way to end his celebratory breakfast. My only complaint, which is more of a suggestion, is to have flavored cream available besides half and half. The coffee is strong and delicious and our cups were never empty. Thank you, Jamie and staff, for a wonderful and yummy first visit. We'll be back!
