2 hour wait....Believe it! Keep in mind that it is a soft opening. I'm sure once they are open full-time, the wait will become more bearable. The restaurant itself is kind of small which doesn't help. Tip -- Most likely you will wait about 2 hours, so I advise coming early to pick up your number inside and then head out to Pacific Commons to chill. That will make time pass by really quickly and you won't feel as bad. Food -- It's worth the wait, I promise you. Good portion sizes and I think it's just really fun! It's not the traditional hot pot that you are use to. The menu is pre-set and when the food arrives, they turn on the pot and you can start eating. If you are looking for the "Cook your own" hot pot, this is not the place for you. **At lunch, they give you a free green/black iced tea. Dinner they do not. Dessert -- I noticed a lot of people ordering the macaroon ice cream while they waited. (Probably because they were getting hungry). To be honest, I did not think it was that good. The presentation is beautiful but I wouldn't recommend ordering it for the price. You can find better elsewhere. Service -- As good as it can get since it's so busy. Me and my friend came here after a football game, so of course we were hungry and what better to get something soupy. They weren't open when we arrived so there was a wait. People came by the flock, so be aware! The restaurant isn't that big, now I know why the line would end up being 2 hours. I had no idea what to get, so my friend recommended me the #8. She described it as "hot as hot cheetos." Let's all face it, hot cheetos are NOT that bad. I'm not sure what kinda hot chips she get, but #8 was FIRE. Just by looking at the soup, you could tell it looked dangerous. It literally look like something contagious, dark red, FIRE. Every bite was just painful.. although it was good. This place is basically like a shabu shabu. I went here with my girlfriend and sister one day to try it out. The first thing we all noticed was the aroma, it was very strong due to the stinky tofu. So be prepared. My girlfriend and I ordered number 4 which looked the most basic to us and didn't have much seafood since we don't like seafood. Amazing hotpot. When I first walked in, I was impressed by the cleanliness and tidiness of the restaurant. The servers were very polite. I ordered the curry fishball soup priced around $16. The menus depicted what you would receive in your order. The hotpot also came with a bowl of rice. There are also add-ons listed on the back of the menu. While this was not an AYCE hotpot place, I preferred this because I didn't feel overstuffed and I enjoyed all the items already in it. The presentation of the hotpot was also very nice. As a curry lover, I enjoyed the curry flavor very much. What kept me from giving it five stars was the lack of variety of sauces available. This is one of my favorite place in SoCal and I'm glad they brought one up here even though it's a tad of a drive for me. The concept is simple - individual hot pots. I always get the same thing - the lamb hot pot. It totally hits the spot. It has so much stuff in the hot pot, I can't even list it all. Most of it is veggies and random stuff and thin slices of lamb which is soo good! It comes with vermicelli noodles and you get a bowl of rice as well. It's actually a lot of food, but somehow I manage to eat the whole thing by myself. The broth is really good and actually taste like lamb. I love soup so I'll keep drinking mine and luckily they can refill your broth as you run low. Overall, it's a very filling, satisfying and flavorful meal. Yes of course the food isn't going to look like the pictures on the menu, but it's such a small portion and so few ingredients! Everyone always complains that there is a super long wait, but it might have been the weekday that we went that resulted in not having any wait whatsoever. I had previously been to Tasty Pot and I had an awful experience and I am so glad that this place was WAY better. I was debating between the Lamb or the Taiwanese Spicy, but I ultimately got the Lamb (napa cabbage, vermicelli noodles, sliced lamb, enoki mushrooms, imitation crab, Kamanoko, pork blood rice cake, maitake mushroom, clams, mustard greens, firm tofu, tempura, fried tofu skin, egg, green onion, cilantro). It was super yummy and the soup base was really rich and flavorful. The only downfall about this place was that the servers were a little slow and did not give very good recommendations. I asked how spicy the Taiwanese Spicy was and their response was "yes it's spicy". It may be a language thing, but every question I asked them they looked at me funny. Oh well. Good hot pot but you can find a tastier fix elsewhere--and with better service. I came with a group of six people early on a Friday night (5 pm). The restaurant was only half full and nobody was waiting. The hostess was quite rude to us and made us wait outside (where it was freezing btw), even though we obeyed all of the rules--don't block the entrance/walkway, entire party was present, etc. At one point, she indicated that our table was ready. We quietly followed her, only to be scolded and told to go back outside. We ended up getting seated at that table anyway. The only difference is that they had not put down the utensils and napkins yet. It was also hard to get their attention once we were seated and eating. -1 star for that overall service experience. The food itself is what you would expect from an individual hot pot restaurant. The menu is almost parallel to that of other restaurants with the same concept: beef hot soup, lamb hot soup, spicy Taiwanese style, curry, Korean/Japanese/Thai hot soup, etc. Prices are about $13 per bowl, which is pretty average. Our group ordered a few different types, and they all came out looking similar to the pictures shown on the menu. I went with the Japanese Miso Hot Soup which was filled with udon noodles, vegetables, some meat (pork), assorted seafood, and raw egg. It was yummy but I thought the flavor was a bit lacking. Also, medium spicy didn't seem to have any kick at all. As for drinks, the Old Time Delight Milk Tea (50% sweet + boba) was delicious. I loved the taste of the milk tea and the tapioca balls were the perfect chewy consistency--highly recommend! For dessert, they bring out a little basil seed lemonade concoction with the check. I love basil seeds but the juice was too sweet for me and I had to dilute it with water. It was still a pleasant surprise though. I'd definitely return to Boiling Point. Came on Monday around 12 and expected a huge crowd and long wait. Sure, the wait seemed long because there were 5 parties of 3-4 ahead of us, but surprisingly I only waited 20 minutes! Ordered the beef (mild) hot pot, which is my favorite. Also ordered the holy cow, which is one of their new appetizers. I didn't entirely love it but I'm not mad at it either- probably won't order it next time though. Piece of advice for first timers- download the Boiling Point app! An EXCELLENT place to get your hot pot fix. I was pleasantly surprised by the hipster deco of the place. My family came here for my sister's graduation dinner. We were all thoroughly impressed by the hot pot quality and service. I got the #2 Seafood Hot Pot, which was DELICIOUS. The extra garlic soy sauce and paste made the soup so much more flavorful. Actually, don't even get me started on the garlic soy sauce and paste - I could eat that alone in itself because its SO GOOD. The servers will add more soup to your hot pot periodically if you want! I LOVE that about this place, since I tend to drink all the soup before I eat the actual content of my soup. The portions are huge, so the leftovers can feed you for another meal. Okay. I don't know why but every time I'm sick or hungover or even just sad, I think of going out and eating Boiling Point and it just makes me happier. I know I'm probably crazy but to me, the hot pot at Boiling Point is the ultimate comfort food. The prices are definitely more worth it at lunch so I suggest coming here and trying it out then if you're not too sure if you'll like it or not. There can also be a wait depending on what time you come so that's a hit or miss. If you do end up coming and there's a 30-45 minute wait, you can go next door to Gong Cha or One Tea to grab a drink (both are so good!!). I came here back in June for dinner with my best friend that actually doesn't like hot pot and she found the food here pretty good. We split the larger Japanese miso hot pot. The serving size was pretty on point for sharing since it was a larger size. I've had this pot a couple of times here and in the LA location and I enjoy everything in this pot at this Boiling Point except for some of the seafood which tastes overcooked, flavorless and as if it's not fresh. I recommend this pot if you're not really into trying more exotic flavors like the stinky tofu or different spices and want a more standard hot pot. You can always ask them for more water or to relight your pot if it goes out. After we finished our hot pot and ordered one of the macaron ice creams at the end. When it got brought out, it was actually kind of hilarious since we expected it to be a lot bigger and were completely surprised. It was still good but just be warned that it's $5 and probably going to be smaller than your hand, about 4 bites. I've also had the hokkaido milk tea here which is RIDICULOUSLY sweet. I like sweet things but man, this one had me drinking water to wash it down. It tasted like it was a quarter tea and the rest was creamer. The drinks here, overall, are definitely not the best. This is the first and newest location for this franchise in the Bay Area. There are numerous locations in the LA area. I was here on the second day of opening. They basically serve dinner starting at 6pm. However if you want a seat be sure to lineup at 5pm to get on the sign up sheet which is released at 5:30pm. This location is brand new so I'm sure there will be even more people lining up earlier as the word gets out. I ordered the Japanese Miso Hot Soup which was amazing. They serve the big bowl on a burner which shuts off automatically within an hour. The dish comes out like hot pot style but he difference here is that the meat and vegetables are already cooked in the super tasty soup! You no longer have to wait for it to be cooked. The soup is amazing and starts off at just the right temperature too. I topped that off with a honey milk green tea (they make boba tea also!). One of my favorite hot pot spots! I've been here at least +5~times and I've finally gotten the chance to write a review for them. I usually order the #4 Beef with extra meat :) In my opinion it's the best one they have! It comes with a variety of ingredients like veggies, seafood, clear noodles and steam rice on the side. That's enough food to get you full and satisfied! When the soup gets too hot you can ask the waiter to turn the fire off. I usually leave it on and keep eating it even when it's boiling. Have you ever given your life to someone you loved so much, only to have your dreams shattered when they change and turn their back on you? For me, that person was Boiling Point (BP). You see, I used to be one of Boiling Point's most avid customers. When I first visited their location in San Gabriel, CA, I was instantly hooked. There was something so addicting about having a pre-made, gigantic hot pot of soup that kept me coming back. In fact, I remember a period of time when I went THREE DAYS IN A ROW. I loved their Taiwanese, Curry, Miso, and Lamb soups. They were SO GOOD! And when they finally opened up their first NorCal location in Fremont, I waited THREE HOURS for the soft opening. I then came back a week later to wait several hours yet again. Talk about desperate! But that's how much of a fan boy I was. Was it worth? Yes, because Boiling Point was my life, my everything. But over the years, Boiling Point has gone down the pooper scooper for a number of reasons. First, they stopped selling what I considered their best soup: The Curry Fish Ball. Then, their service got so bad. With all the hype and popularity came mediocrity. But I continued to come. Because when you love someone so much, you don't give up...that is until the straw finally breaks the camels back, which it did during my last visit to this Fremont location. And here's why: -LOCATION (7/10): Let's start with the only positive. The Fremont Boiling Point is located on the always-popular Warm Springs Blvd. The really nice feature about this spot is that BP is NEXT TO several freeways (i.e. 880, 680) as well as a BART station, making transportation extremely easy. In terms of parking, it used to be pretty dismal on the weekends back in the day because EVERYONE came here for BP, Gong Cha, or 99 Ranch. Nowadays, it's gotten a bit better. Even during peak hours, I have been able to find a parking spot. -PRICING (1/10): Now the bad. When I first started dating (I meant eating at) Boiling Point, one quality I appreciated was the pricing. On average, it was like $12 a pot for lunch and $13 for dinner I believe? And for the premium items (i.e. Taiwanese Spicy, Thai, and Miso), it was $18. That's a really good deal, especially in the Bay Area. However, The most recent time I came, PRICES WENT UP! Now, it's $14 for lunch, $16 for dinner, and $22 for premium?!! What restaurant increase their prices BY LIKE 15% AND GETS AWAY WITH IT? I guess Boiling Point can...but that's outrageous capitalism. -FOOD (4/10): Since Curry Fish Ball has long since disappeared, I usually get Japanese Miso now. $22 aside, the quality of the food here is really average at best. This most recent time, I thought that the broth was just okay (not that flavorful), the ingredients were meh (they just didn't taste that fresh), and the portion size was pitiful. Like, if I'm ordering a premium pot, why do I get so much cabbage and so little meat? And are you calling that CRAB?? IT'S LIKE HALF A LEG. If I ever return, I will probably just order the normal options. Because the food does NOT justify the pricing. -SERVICE (3/10): Service has always been bad at this BP because the employees always look like they don't know what they're doing. I can't believe they took it up another notch when I last came. DUDE, there were FIVE TABLES AVAILABLE, but no one seated us! What's the point of having a fancy ticket machine IF IT DOESN'T GET YOU SEATED?! YOU SAW THE OPEN TABLES! And when I waived a waitress to shut off my flame, she LITERALLY IGNORED ME FOR SOMEONE ELSE. YOU SAW MY HAND. WHAT THE HECK! If I sound like a clingy significant other, then I've done my job because that's exactly how I feel about Boiling Point now - specifically for this Fremont location. Jesus, the food is meh, the service is trash, and the pricing is atrocious. Due to this, I have to rate this BP a sad "Ugh; ask yourself why you are here" rating. After a mission peak hike we decided to garb some Asian food. We walked into boiling point and food look good from afar. However, the service was horrible. There were tables empty everywhere but they still had people wait in long lines. Groups left not wanting to wait before us. I get that probably they're understaff but people got upset when they saw one employee wrapping a pre-packaged chopstick in napkins when he could be used as a server. Kind of ridiculous when the chopstick is already covered. We left to eat at Mom's tofu that s in the same plaza. after waiting for more than 3 and a half hours I don't think I can enjoythe food anymore. First of all, let me start with they said the waiting time is 2 hours when I got there. 2 hrs went by, only 10 tables had been seated. And I was 40 tables away!!! Another hour later, maybe couple tables have been called...so we ended up (3 of us) have to split the tables so that we don't have to wait for another 2 hours, one of us has to eat by herself which they cannot even arrange us to sit closer. (they have an opened table right behind us.) if you don't know how to estimate waiting time after 2 weeks of opening then the business should review their strategy. I understand the varies of waiting time but 2 hrs vs 4-5 hrs?! The girl didn't know how to seat people so they ended up have a lot of 2 people tables opened. So my total wait time was 3 hrs 45 mins. Quality of food: was okay, not very special. Similar to HIT at milpitas. Will I come back? NO.....there are a lots of places out there serve better food and worth the wait. read more

I've been waiting for the day that Boiling Point would open near where I live. I always make sure I go to Boiling Point whenever I'm in SoCal, so now that there's one here, I'm super happy! The line does tend to get long (very long). We got here at around 4:45 with a group of 5 and ended up near the front of the line. We did a tag team type of thing and took turns waiting in line while some of us wandered around the plaza. It worked quite well, and I would suggest this if you guys are waiting in line. They start taking people's names down at around 5:45. The tea place next door provides seating and free tea as you wait (after you get your number or else you'll be out of line). We got in at around 6:05 PM. Our waiter was very attentive! I ordered the Beef Hot Pot, and it was very similar to what I had down in SoCal. The prices are slightly more expensive, but this is NorCal, afterall. The macaron ice cream is good, but it's pretty expensive. They were out of the snow cubes when we went, unfortunately. I really wanted to try them! The flavors are different from the ones in SoCal. It was a pretty good experience. If you come, I suggest you coming an hour earlier than the opening time. I believe they're still in their soft opening. Oh, and for all those people complaining about how Boiling Point is "making them wait," really, they aren't making you do anything. You decided to come here, and you should be aware of the lines (from the reviews). If you don't want to wait as long, come earlier. It's obvious the line will be long from how popular this place is. read more

The wait was insane. We wrote our names down and they told us it would be around 30 minutes of a wait. We waited for almost 2 hours and it was lunch time! Whatever though, we were finally seated at a booth. I ordered the lamb hot pot very spicy and my boyfriend got the beef hot pot very spicy. We also got a free green or black tea with our meal since it was lunch time. I wanted green tea with no sugar, but our waiter told us that they can't adjust the sugar level on the free tea, I guess that's understandable. We ordered one black tea and one green tea. They were really sweet :( but the hot pot was delicious!! Such yummy broth and mine came with an egg on top. There was a lot of cabbage in my soup, but I avoided them. Overall, it was great!! I definitely wanna come back, but the long line isn't very fun. The food makes up for it though. read more

Get there EARLY, I'm talking right when they open! We arrived 40mins after they opened and there was already a 1 hour wait... But it was worth the wait. Pretty good hot pot but on the pricier side. We got the Beef Hot Soup and Japanese Miso Hot Soup. I thought the Miso was a little salty but both were good over all. There is a new boba place that opened up next door so we went there while we waited. BUT either finish the drink before you're called since they won't let you bring it in, get boba there, OR just get it after. They were nice enough to let us put our drinks in their fridge while we ate. They also give a complimentary drink of green or black tea with your meal that's damn near like getting boba but without the boba. read more
