we frequent Bojangles on Tiny Town Clarksville regularly, and on April 09 at approximately 9:42 PM we requested several times during our order to have light salt on our fries..They even repeated the request at the window and when the order was brought to the car after waiting on another item, they repeated our request for light salt..Bojangle is known for adding salt like they are crazy! I'm sure they run out of salt frequently!! Not only were the fries so salty we had to try to wipe it off, but to no avail... They were also very stale!! I'm sure they were trying to get rid of all leftovers. Cheap, cheap I called back and let the on-shift manager know and she agreed to more fries but for my time and inconvenience of messing up my meal I called the next day and spoke with the GM and requested 2 new meals but she refused! Once in a while, I like to grab a family meal deal to take home for dinner. This was the case recently and I chose to try Bojangles. Bojangles is like most fast food places. Depending on where you go it's hit or miss as to how good it is. This particular store wasn't horrible and it wasn't fantastic either. I ordered the family meal deal +10 extra biscuits. I never saw the extra biscuits. Highly annoyed about that one. But the meal deal wasn't bad. The fried chicken was hot and fresh. The coleslaw is not the best coleslaw I've ever had. The Bojangles fries were drab, and not as fresh as they could've been. The macaroni and cheese was passable. I think everyone in the family agreed the best aspect of the meal was the dirty rice. We also got iced tea in this deal, and it was decent for my likings. All in all, it wasn't a horrible deal. I just think it could've been better for the price. Bojangles on Tiny Town is not as good as it used to be. I'm guessing it is due to bad corporate decisions. The sides and biscuits have changed. Red beans and corn on the cob are gone. The good old southern green beans with bacon or ham are gone. The green beans are now covered in an odd greenish slime that has an artificial flavor. The old hearty biscuits that could be part of tomorrow's breakfast are now replaced with a very salty spiced clump that reminds me of bad Red Lobster biscuits. It was about 8:35pm and we had some more guests come to the house, so we ran out to get some food, every one wanted chicken and I had seen Bojangles on my way in, so I figured we could grab something there. We pull up to the drive through, I'm thinking it's like KFC so it shouldn't be a big deal, we place our order for two buckets, that's it, no extra sides or anything bc we just needed the chicken to go with what we already had at the house. Well they ask us to pull up and said that it would take 15mins to cook since it's all freshly battered and cooked. I thought, sure, 15mins isn't too bad, we can wait. I should have paid more attention, but there were three more cars waiting up ahead as well. Well 20mins pass and only one of those cars had gotten their food. I start to wonder... what the heck is taking so long? They didn't close until 10 that night, and there wasn't any one else beside the two cars in front of us. So another 10 mins pass and I start getting frustrated, at this point I get out to go check in with the servers inside. There's about five or six employees just kinda standing around, one or two of them are cleaning things up and it looks like they are closing. I get it, it was thursday night, almost closing time (I think it was around 9:20 at this point). I ask them how much longer it will be, the lady says only about another 5 mins. So i go back to my car. Wait another 10mins!!!! At this point only one of the two cars in front of me has gotten their food. So now I'm a little bit more upset, I calmly go back in and just stand waiting for one of the five employees to acknowledge me (I'm sure they were thinking I was pissed, and I was, but I wasn't about to flip out over chicken...). So finally one of them comes over and says "we had turned off the fryers because it was closing time, so we had to reheat the oil and freshly batter all of the chicken that you order, that's why it's taking so long" - no apologies, just excuses. Sorry hun, it was 8:35 when we pulled up, that's not "close to closing time"!!! They didn't offer any sides or any coupons. Needless to say, it took another 20 mins to get our order, we didn't leave until 9:55! That was over an hour for two buckets of chicken. Oh and it was RIDICULOUSLY over priced, I think it was $40 plus tax each, so we paid $80 to be stuck in our for for over an hour for some drive through chicken. I decided to try this place when traveling out because I had heard of it before and never tried it. I got a chicken tender plate with fries and it came with a biscuit. The Food The chicken was ok, it wasn't stellar, and I thought the fried coating was overdone. I could not taste the chicken, only the batter which tasted good, but it was overpowering. The fries were ok, they are not my favorite type, but the seasoning wasn't overpowering and I could taste potato which was good. The biscuit was a bit greasy I did not enjoy it much, but I could tell that the flavor was good, and maybe if I went to another place, I would like it better. I've come the last 2 Wednesdays for their All You Can Eat chicken, fixins, biscuits, and a drink for $7.99. (The Save-A-Mint coupon books have a $1 off coupon in them)! Each time you order, you get 2 pieces of chicken (white, dark, or mixed), 2 sides, and biscuit or bo-berry biscuit. You get a cup when you order the first time. I would go back for several reasons: 1. The food was hot, fresh, and pretty tasty as far as fried chicken and sides go. 2. They have a brown gravy which is truly fantastic. 3. The biscuits are good and you can get a bo-berry biscuit with icing instead if you want (you'll want to try at least 1!) 4. Going at 6pm the first time and 2 pm the second time, I found myself in an almost empty dining room. 5. Each refill trip, you can pick different sides so you have a variety to try. My wife was really craving a chicken sandwich and suggested Bojangles. I got the chicken tender basket. She seemed moderately pleased with her sandwich. My tenders on the other hand were about the same quality as crappy frozen tenders that come in a bag which are only eaten by picky children who haven't developed any sense of real taste. Our fries were literally hollow. Hard, crunchy potato tubes. I wouldn't be writing this review if my tender basket was $1.99. Even at that price, it would have been a ripoff. But would you like to guess how much it was? $9.35! Way out of your league there Bojangles. I would have preferred cold dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets to this basket. Honestly, I feel robbed. Total garbage. This is why I hate chain restaurants. Biscuit was good. Maybe it should just be a biscuit restaurant.
