Holy Bo Sauce!!! WTF is that made of and how can I buy BoJugs of it? I was on a drive from Charlotte to Roanoke and this was a good place to stop for a bite to eat. I adore their Mac n' Cheese as it reminds me of the old Franco American Mac N Cheese in a can when I was growing up (the cans suck now. So it's a must for me. I got the combo meal with some tenders as I hadn't had them before. They were pretty good, nothing spectacular... until I dipped them in the Bo Sauce and I felt like David F'ing Blaine tricking my mouth into salivating profusely with how good it was. I made it this far and parked only to find that the dining room remains closed. Covid or staffing issues, I suppose. Back into the car, I placed my order at the drive through and picked it up from a polite lady. I'm not eating fried chicken in my car, so it took me a bit to find an appropriate stop with some fresh air. When I unwrapped it, the order was correct with two properly cooked pieces of chicken, double cole slaw and a biscuit that I tore up and tossed for the birds. Hooray for keto diet. Stopped here today (10-14-24). The product/Food did taste good and I do want to start with that. From a person who works in this industry the service was appalling. The employees did forget multiple items and then replaced those missing items with broken ones. When we kindly asked for what we paid for to be filled, the manager felt necessary to not only snap at my fiancé but also to roll her eyes behind the counter at our concerns. Never have I ever - until a trip down south where chicken joints are about as common as the white strips on a highway. I had heard about these, eaten at Raisin Canes, Zaxbys, etc - so we decided to stop. It was a good welcome to the south in terms of food - though the place was very underwhelming when it came to cleanliness. The woman who helped us was very friendly but again the place seemed very worn down and aged inside. Like it had been open for 15years as a __________ then quickly turned into a Bojangles. I went with fries and tried the Mac and cheese as well, and we also ordered some of the berry biscuits as I was informed it was the best part. Staff was very friendly. So don't blame them. But some of food was even bad by fast food standards. The chicken tenders were tiny and extremely dry. Freezing cold inside this not very clean air conditioned restaurant. Service was slow--guess they were busy with big orders with it being Fathers Day. There weren't many people at the restaurant. This is the slowest, worst Bojangles I have ever been to. The wait was over half an hour and they just were not taking the orders of people waiting inside. The staff were not using gloves and they refused to give us fries from the new batch and instead we got stale ones that had been sitting out. Would NOT recommend at all. read more

I asked for extra seasoning on my fries when I ordered in the drive through. I had to go back inside and ask for them to be correct and they put the fries in the container and shook two shakes of seasoning on top. Which, first of all is nothing and second of all only gets the top 3 fries sticking out. Not only that but they didn't even make the biscuits and gravy correctly. Born and raised in California for over 30 years. My boyfriend told me about Bojangles and we decided to try it for dinner before heading home. I tried many friend chicken so far. From KFC to Popeyes and even Church's chicken for those who know what that is. The location of this business is up a hill and hidden if you're not from the area. The bathrooms were very clean and the staff was pleasant. We looked at the chicken and it looked like it was under the heat lamp for a few hours. We almost decided to leave until the cashier mentioned they can cook a fresh batch of chicken for us. That was very sweet of her to offer and we are glad we took her up on her offer. The chicken was piping hot and fresh. We tried the mac and cheese, dirty rice and cole slaw. Best dirty rice I ever had!!! The pricing was also decent. I didn't pay...so that was wonderful and I would consider that a steal!! Overall, I love this place and the staff was very helpful! I've been told many many times by a fellow yelper that Bojangles is the place to go for fatty fried chicken. It was pretty good. I will be honest, it wasn't too much different than Popeyes but it was still pretty good. Beware. They are sometimes not open as stated. Stopped on Saturday 4.13 and the doors were locked at 10am. Stopped again on 4/19 and it was open but left after waiting 15mins and our order was never taken. Workers just walked by and ignored us. This is an easy off I 81 n and easy to get right back on. This is the cleanest fast food fried chicken place I have ever been to. I have traveled cross country and stopped here. Chicken was fresh. One thing if you are taking it to go, check you bag and make sure you have all your items. They forgot to give me the cup for the drink and the 6 biscuits that I ordered. Quick stop for lunch off Route 81. Staff was accommodating and the restrooms were clean. Our puppy enjoyed the grassy picnic table site while we ate our lunch.
