Literally took 32 minutes to get my food. Crazy slow. If you don't have allot of time, do not go there.

I was pretty stoked b/c he had been bragging about it for years. Went here with high expectations and the wings we got were drowning in sauce and just not great texture. I can't place it but they were on par with the chain style wing places. When we dug into it a bit more, the original owners of the place sold it. It's unfortunate because the sauce itself was good. You can tell that there is/was something there. Now why the 1? I had to go to the bathroom... and they didn't put up a closed sign (should've) or had a plumber fix the issue. What I saw in that bathroom will be forever imprinted in my mind. I won't get super graphic - I'll just say that it made port-o-potties look like a 5-star hotel in comparison. I will never, ever go back here. There's the saying about a kitchen cleanliness in comparison to the bathroom. These new owners are gonna tank this place fast if they can't find the rhythm. Some Chicken pieces was heavy on the salt, but overall it was seasoned well enough that I didnt need to add much hot sauce to it. My group of 5 people all rate it 5/5. We were seated within 5 minutes after the table was cleaned off. We decided to get catfish with collards and mashed potatoes with gravy, and fried pork chop with Mac and cheese and potatoe salad. While waiting for our entrees, we received a biscuit with butter and strawberry jam on a small plate. It took about 20 minutes for our food to come out. We did get plastic cups to self serve our drinks. The catfish had a pretty brown coating but could use more seasoning. The collards tasted like it came out of the can of Glory greens. The mashed potatoes need salt and pepper and butter. The fried pork chops needed salt as well. The Mac and cheese looked like Velveeta and the potatoes in the potatoe salad was firm but had a decent taste. There wasn't a designated server for any of the tables. There were at least six other tables with two or more people at each table. It seems to be a little disorganized with serving people. We had to ask for a to go box to a woman who was walking around with her hands in her pocket. We just assumed she worked there as well. There was a jazz band scheduled to perform in the other area of the building at 6pm tonight. I'll stick to my chicken gizzards and fried chicken if I return again. The prices are reasonable for a soul food restaurant. The sweet tea and kool-aid was good as well. Everyone was nice and pleasant upon entering the restaurant.

The restaurant was clean and staff were friendly, making suggestions since it was our first time there. I got the 2 piece mixed chicken with mac and cheese as my side with their homemade strawberry lemonade. Hubby got their slider and tender meal with fries. His meal had the option to pick the spice level and he went with medium. The range goes from mild to atomic. My 2 piece was actually 3 pieces, seasoned to perfection, juicy and hot out of the grease. It was so good! Hubby's was just as delicious with a nice kick to it. His chicken on the slider and the tender had a red spicy dry rub. The fries were good, the Mac was ok but I would try something else next time. We also tried their special sauce which added to the flavor of the chicken. They had a decent selection of cake slices for dessert as well but we didn't get any. Overall we would definitely be back, I'm just glad we don't live that close because it could easily become a weekly stop.

Mac & cheese-not my favorite Now for the chicken! Chicken slider is more the size of a sandwich and it's delicious! Got the meal combo and it was plenty of food. The kale slaw and pickles on it were great and the slaw did not have too much sauce on it which is a great thing. Fries generous portion and hot, fresh and crispy. Chicken wings-nice and crispy! Fried Chicken-3 piece combo-also very good! It's not overly large inside but there are about 6 booths, and we ate there to eat it nice and hot! Service was kind and the gentleman answered our questions since it was our first time there. The sauce that they serve with the meals is very good! Will return!

I hadn't eaten there in over five years, so I was hoping the food was still as good as I remembered. My visit was on a Friday evening, around 6:00 or 6:30 PM. The dining room was relatively quiet, with only two other customers present, and I was immediately greeted upon walking in. I asked the cashier about the new menu item, the "Lamb Chops." He described them as pan-fried, noting that an order includes two to three nice-sized chops and comes with two sides. I decided to order the lamb chops to go, selecting the arroz chaufa (fried rice) which was a $1 upcharge and plantains as my sides. I was extremely disappointed when I opened my order and found that I had been served lamb shoulder for $18 and not the lamb chops I expected (typically rib or loin chops). To add to my disappointment the quality of the Lamb was very poor; it was tough, contained an excessive amount of connective tissue and fat, and was ultimately inedible. I ended up having to throw the entire portion away. The arroz chaufa also had inconsistent quality. While the flavor was good, the texture varied significantly, with parts being mushy and overcooked, and others remaining hard and undercooked. The Plantains were cut too thick and were also undercooked. Given the cost and the expectation associated with "Lamb Chops," I was extremely unhappy with my meal. I believe the cut of meat served was misrepresented, falsely advertised and the quality was unacceptable. I certainly cannot recommend this item to others and regret not ordering the chicken, which I know your restaurant prepares well.

We will be back and I want to try the other items on their menu too. Be sure to give this place a try, you won't be disappointed!
