    a box of fried chicken
    Dennis P.

Ordered 8 piece meal witch was supposed to be 2 breast 2 thighs 2 legs 2 wings and 4 biscuit received 4 thighs 2 legs 1 wing 4 biscuit. The chicken was hard and cold also. Went back inside to complain and the staff telks me I got what I paid for. Go back the next day to speak with the store manager as he tells me he wasn't working last night and walks away. They don't care about customer service at all.

Big J's Southern Cooking - Brisket with collards and green beans. YUM!

Hello my little yelplings! I'm not sure if I'm just lucky today after my past week of weird…read morecircumstances, but I actually landed excellent barbecue, in back-to-back visits of barbecue joints! For those of you who don't read my reviews, only about one in five barbecue joints I go to make the cut. The last one that didn't make the cut, was that fast food place Smokin Ds in St Augustine Florida. Anyhow, let's get to Big J's. I'm parked across the street, which I park at semi often, and throughout the years, and have only been next door at the vape shop in the strip mall. I think the other times I've came by they were closed, but they weren't closed today and I kind of expected them to be. I wanted to have supper here last night, but I had to go endure tragedy at the Mexican restaurant in the same row. I noticed they were open today, so I mosied it over about 1:00 p.m. The place is really clean, it's a family run outfit, and they are ALL SO nice. So I wanted a brisket plate, but the nice young gentleman behind the counter told me that it wasn't ready and it would be ready in an hour, so I came back at 2:00 p.m.. I ordered brisket, collards and green beans. Again if you don't follow me, you don't know my culinary history and that on the smoke pit, but this place was just about as good as my own. My collards were fabulous, green beans were off the chain, my brisket was hot, tender and moist. So good! They went above and beyond, the young gentleman at the counter asked me if I was a truck driver after placing my order, which I am an O/O, and I got something free or got a discount, not too sure what it was but I got something! That means a lot, we spend weeks and months away from our families to bring ungrateful people the things they want, so it's a little gestures like that that really makes a difference to us. Well they definitely have a lifetime customer. I just have to make sure when I pull here that they're open. But I'll definitely be back! ***DISCLAIMER*** This pure, uncut, honest review is federally protected under Federal Law by way of Bill #EO14149. The Trading Post Cafe is a spot where local folks come to eat. A visitor can easily spot the "regulars" chatting with their servers. The staff is patient, attentive and extremely kind. We were visiting the area and found The Trading Post Cafe via Google when looking for a breakfast spot. Our entire party agreed that it was the highlight of our day! Our server, Kate, to exceptional care of us. The menu had plenty of options for whatever size appetite. We were their for breakfast and enjoyed the southern comfort food...especially the pancakes, biscuits and apples!

When my server came back several minutes later, she asked how my breakfast was. I pointed to the corned beef hash's burned side and mentioned they. No apology offered. She asked with indifference if I wanted them to remake them. I said yes. She said it'll be a bit. I told her never mind, I don't have time. She said ok and walked away. At the register I was asked if everything was good. I said no. I was asked what was wrong. I said the corned beef hash was overcooked and crusty. She asked if I told my server. I said yes. She then gave me the total due without even offering to remove the burnt food. This food was seen by the cook and server at a minimum and nobody cared from those two moments till I paid.

First things first. How can your restaurant name be "El Tapatio", yet, you don't carry Tapatio hot…read moresauce!? So I've been coming through here for years, and I've never tried this place but I made it a point to today. I think I would have been better off walking to Burger King like I usually do. The place is bigger than it looks. Typical Mexican decorations and a ton of TVs. My bar spot was sticky tho. I sat in the corner of the bar. Some server came and brought chips and salsa and set it two seats over from me. I mean are they for me or? Well, they're still sitting there cuz I dunno. She didn't even acknowledge me. We were actually at 4 stars when I sat down and was greeted by the bartender, but here I am sitting, going on 40 minutes wanting to order another round of food as she makes drinks and waits on other patrons. Maybe she thinks my money ran out. I ordered a vodka Red Bull to start, and then I ordered a "Mezcalito", that was Mezcal and grapefruit soda, with supposedly a black lava salted rim. Nope, jist mezcal and soda tossed into a glass, no salt, even after ASKING for it, but they have plenty for margaritas, and micheladas, even chamoy. Its amazing how much effort she's putting into these cocktails for other people. I do know it's heavily influenced by locals, I talked to a really nice gentleman who came here with his wife every Friday night before she passed last january. Super nice fella. Oohhhh, If the bartender only knew I was a 40% tipper, eh? I won't be tonight. And I'm giving it about 5 more minutes before I pay my bill and walk out of here and go order food across the street. I ordered a "Texas" taco salad, that apparently had steak, chicken and shrimp. It was ok, but the white queso they plated it on is horrible. And it's a lot smaller than I had thought, or what the picture shows, henceforth me STILL sitting here wanting to order more food. They don't have tapatio, or Cholula if that's your thing. They have valentino, you know that hot sauce you put on churros. They don't have cucumber vodka, which really isn't a surprise, but they don't have mint either. The bartender told me people ask for mojitos all the time but they don't have the stuff to make them. Well whaddya know, she finally came back and checked on me after all this time. I'd say the greater of 25 minutes? And I ordered some soup so we'll see how that turns out. I really shouldn't have, but I'm still hungry after my little salad. I just ordered a single shot of Titos over ice, and she took it up on herself to make me another cocktail. I'm not drinking it. I'm seriously thinking about going to one star. As I still sit and wait for my soup. So my Caldo del Mar finally came out. I CAN say that it was piping hot, but I can also say that the flavor of the broth left a lot to be desired. I actually had to ask for probably an entire lime, and even put salt and pepper in it to flavor it up a bit. It had some tilapia and shrimp in it, and broccoli and cauliflower? I understand the carrots but that was strange. Anyhow, I just paid $86 before tip to let myself know that I'll never be back. It was okay, but just not good enough to go back. Looks like I'll be marching up to Burger King tomorrow! If you KNOW Mexican food, then you know this isn't good "Mexican food" if you DONT know, then you'll THINK it's good Mexican food. It's not. ***DISCLAIMER*** This pure, uncut, honest review is federally protected under Federal Law by way of Bill #EO14149. The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home, and even the other guests created a friendly atmosphere. The highlight, though, was the food. Everything was flawless. The salsa had just the right consistency, a touch of heat, and layers of flavor from the cilantro, onion, and spices--they definitely didn't skimp on quality. The chips were fresh, crisp, and the perfect companion. For dinner, I had the carnitas, and they were outstanding. The portion was generous, the pork was tender, juicy, and packed with flavor. The rice was wonderfully seasoned, and the beans had an amazing depth of taste with a perfect consistency. Overall, I loved every bite and would absolutely come back. Highly recommended.
