    a bowl of food

Located right in Quebec City in the shopping area. This place was the only restaurant open by the time I arrived in Quebec so I was glad to see some fresh fish as I needed something light with lots of flavor. They have a good spread and options of Poke bowls and you'll find something that you like here. I love salmon so I ordered one that had this Hawaiian style flavor!

Situated in Quebec City, this is one of the first restaurant we went when we first arrived in the city. The restaurant is very clean and cozy. I ordered one of their popular bowl the " Porke! ". It was quite good. The Nagano pork was delicious, juicy and tender, the veggies were fresh, and the noodles were good. However, I wasn't fan of the jerky; it was too hard. I had trouble chewing. I understand jerky are dry and hard but the ones I get was too much. It was not edible. My jaws were hurting. The bowls all seems pretty good otherwise. It's very vegetarian friendly which was awesome. It is more on the pricy side though. Overall, good little vegetarian friendly poke bowl place. Fun fact: they have seasonal menus, make sure to check out their winter noodle soups.

Grilled pork bowl with spicy seaweed on the side - delicious!

I had the grilled pork bowl with the spicy seaweed on the side - it's delicious! Super fresh toppings, all the ingredients just taste so good together. Highly recommended. I would like to try the marinated salmon next time - will definitely return!

We all ordered different bows, and everyone liked their food. The island one seems a very good deal though.

Super fresh and flavorful poke bowls. A nice change of pace after several savory but heavy French Canadian meals

The food here is great here if you like Poké. The restaurant wasn't busy so we got our food relatively quick

The pear martini with gin was bright and elegant, lightly sweet with a clean botanical finish that felt refined rather than sugary. The MSG with mezcal cocktail brought a smoky, adventurous character with depth and balance that made it stand out. The chili con carne was pure comfort. Rich, slow-cooked flavor, hearty without being heavy, and perfectly complemented by fresh greens and crisp bread. What truly elevated the experience was the amazing service from our waitress. Warm, attentive and effortlessly welcoming, she made the entire meal feel relaxed and personal, the kind of hospitality that turns a good dinner into a memorable one. A charming local spot with thoughtful drinks, satisfying food and genuinely exceptional service

Great French Bistro experience off Rue St. Jean…read more Food, service, & ambiance was great, the owner Louis is a great photographer as well. LOL. Started with a few favorites from the fabulous waitress who took great care to go over the menu with my group before we ordered. The French Onion and Creamy Tomato were both excellent. In particular, the French Onion might be the best iteration I've ever had. The crusted cheesy, bready top held up well to savory broth and caramelized onions. The Buvette, Tartare, and Escargot were all also very delicious. The Buvette was tender and beefy on top of a bed of cream of corn, roasted corn and tomato caramel for a slight sweetness. The Tartare was a classic rendition, beefy and mustardy, and one of the few times I've had tartare that was filling. After our meal I was snapping a photo of the restaurant and the owner Louis saw me and took a few photos for me. He's an excellent photographer as well!

We found Le Don on Yelp. Nice interesting decor…read more Le Don has an inexpensive lunch special. We also ordered the signature dumplings : delicious with pleasant ginger notes. The broccoli soup was excellent. Same for the house salad with crispy chickpeas. We enjoyed the Impossible burger and the mushroom risotto: the mushroom risotto is one if the best risottos we've had the privilege to enjoy. The meal was capped with a delicious blueberry crumble and vegan soy latte. Service was fast, friendly and efficient.

Le Don is a serious vegan restaurant with a chill yet lively atmosphere. We visited on a Monday…read moreevening and the place was packed to the brim -- after about a 30 min wait, we were luckily the last couple to be seated! We started with the panko-fried cauliflower, a creative take on the veggie served with a vibrant green herbaceous sauce that added an interesting layer of flavor. For entrées, I really enjoyed the tostadas -- well-executed Mexican flavors loaded with veggies, cheese, and surprisingly satisfying plant-based "meat" chunks. The Thai tofu and vegetable soup was warm and hearty, although the flavors were a little too subtle for us and could have packed more punch. For dessert, the eleven-layer chocolate cake certainly looked decadent, but unfortunately the vegan interpretation of this indulgent classic didn't quite hit the mark for us. Service was warm and friendly, though a bit slow -- perhaps we're just spoiled by the pace of NYC dining! Overall, Le Don impresses with its creative concept, varied menu, and cozy atmosphere. Set moderate expectations & it's definitely worth a stop for a relaxed vegan meal in Quebec City.

To put that in perspective, you can get a 14 oz steak for $70 at the fancy steak joint nearby. Come here for the vibe, the $5 hand made taffy roll (that you can get for $3 in the corner store) but watch out for the waiter's upsell recommendations. If you bring the kids, may be the kids plats is the way to go as you get the Taffy included.
