Ok wow! Québécois food is traditionally very meat heavy, so I was super excited to try out this all vegan place in the heart of the old city. The restaurant is small but it is SO CUTE! And I was not disappointed with the food! It was hard to choose what to order on the extensive menu, but I ended up getting a paloma mocktail, beet tartare, and the dumplings. Everything was incredible! I looove beets and thought it wenr so well with the crusty bread. The dumplings were very flavorful and came with a good dipping sauce. Everything came out pretty quickly. The servers were all very nice and attentive! I highly recommend trying this out. Even if you aren't vegan, the food is incredible!

Wow!! Great food, location and service. As non-vegetarians, we felt as though we were taking a chance... what a great roll of the dice. As should be expected of French cuisine, each bite demonstrated attention to the balance of flavors and intentional use of ingredients. Lunch special was a three course meal ($15 CAN !) of rutabaga and maple soup (shocked at how good this was!), asparagus risotto (each flavor came through, including the peas that might have just been decorative at another restaurant) and a berry crumble with chocolate drizzle (delicious). The linguine with mushrooms was excellent and the appetizer of artichoke & spinach dip was delicious (the flavors of each ingredient came through). Located on a curved corner with outdoor seating available; jazz band set up on the street; fun design inside and out.

Great experience at Le Don. I ordered the cauliflower and sashimi and both were excellent! My partner doesn't like watermelon however the sashimi was well flavored and prepared that she couldn't tell based on the texture. She had the coconut soup which looked very good, however said it was the most bland spicy soup she's ever had. Staff was above and beyond as one of our drinks was spilled right after it was brought to the table and was replaced without having to ask (the bartender witnessed the accident and made another drink). We ate outside as the weather was lovely, however I'm unsure what they do in the winters as the inside looked very small to accommodate more than a few tables.

This place is so busy! The wait staff were constantly on the move, tending to the patio, inside seating as well as making the drinks at the bar. The kitchen staff were very proficient in getting meals out in a very timely manner. Everything we ordered was incredibly amazing! Also, dress is very casual.

Great find with this vegan restaurant in Quebec City!! Food was fantastic and fun location. Servers were friendly. They do have impossible meat for people wanting the meat flavor.

    Crispy panko fried cauliflower. Delicious!

Excellent food and service right in the heart of old Quebec City...convenient and delicious!

My first time in Quebec and we went to try this vegan spot that I saw online. I was absolutely blown away by everything! We were greeted by the sweetest server who gave us great suggestions, was asking about where we were from, and made sure we were doing okay with everything pretty frequently. He even supported us having a photo shoot with the interior and gave us props (the pumpkin) to enhance our photos! Now for the food. We got the two squash risotto with the vegan shiitake chicken and it was amazing. It was seasoned to perfection to where it didn't just taste like butternut squash, and the "chicken" was made so well - very airy and crispy, and i feel like getting that texture right from shiitake mushrooms is so hard! So this was our favorite. We also got this vegan platter so that we could try a little bit of everything- it included Beet Tartare, Caesar salad, artichoke dip, Ravioli, dumplings, and Panko Cauliflower. I would say the Caesar salad and ravioli were my favorite out of everything, because I don't understand how they were able to make the caesar salad dressing that good but all vegan! Everything else was just as impressive because it was completely plant based , and the only thing is I found to be the Cauliflower to be a bit dry but i think it was intentional to replicate it as popcorn chicken. Overall, amazing place and amazing sharing portions- you guys truly made our day trip in Quebec so memorable! Thank you to our waiter for being so sweet and making our experience lovely. I hope to come back sometime in the future!!

Incredible! We started out with the Summer Salad (strawberry, watermelon and beet salad over an edamame and sesame spread). This dish was flavorful and refreshing. On top of this, it was beautiful. We then moved on to the Mushroom Risotto with shitake, portobello and oyster mushrooms. The risotto was topped wit a fresh salad of spring creams and a slighly sweet dressing. The combination is something I would not have thought of, but loved. And then we finished with the Poor Man's Pudding for dessert. My response was literally...OMG!! The texture, the flavors, the moistness, the satisfaction - I want more. Finally- from our table outside, it looked like a reverse of Van Gogh's Cafe Terrace at Night (see the pic). Do not hesitate to go whether a carnivore, a vegetarian or a vegan you be.

The best food so far we had in the Quebec City. Being vegetarians, it was hard to get vegetarian friendly restaurants as most of them either had burger or pizza/pasta. But this place amazed us with options. It's vegan and there were plenty of options to choose from. Reservations are recommended.

We had an amazing lunch here at this vegan restaurant. No one in our party was vegan per se but we lived all the food we tried. Don't miss the dumplings- I usually avoid fake meat but tree were delicious. I had the special lunch fixed menu- salad with cauliflower lentil and corn as an appetizer and gnocchi for main course- they were both great! The bathroom is a bit weird but clean and in good working order. The service was very attentive!

Delicious! GLUTEN-FREE AND VEGAN REVIEW Discovered this little jewel on my last trip to Qc city. Absolutely a must for vegans! Unfortunately, misses gluten-free options. Would have loved to see some gf croutons or bread and or pasta. Yet we had a blast and one of our friend who is a meat eater loved her pasta dish. Had the burrito bowl: succesful! Great fresh ingredients and mix of tastes. Great terrasse and amazing cool decor insude. Tiny bathrooms on first floor ( no stairs)

The service was attentive and speedy! As a tourist in the area it was super helpful that the menu was in both French and English. The restaurant is a bit tight but has hip decor. The food we received was delicious. Highly recommend a risotto.

If you need an excuse to visit Quebec City the Don is it! Hidden off the beaten path in Old Quebec City, the Don offers a variety of vegan and vegetarian dishes. While diverse the dishes have an Asian vibe from salads, soups, noodle and rice dishes. This trip we ordered the two way risotto, Caesar Salad, and Dumplings and all of us were satisfied. The flavors were incredibly delish and one would never know that they were dairy and meat free. The staff was friendly and service was quick however the dining are is small so consider making a reservation.

All crepes are freshly cooked on traditional billig iron griddles, available in both savory and sweet flavors. I tried the duck confit with goat cheese, and it was incredible. The duck meat is tender and juicy, paired perfectly with crispy yet soft buckwheat crepe crust. Caramelized onions blend smoothly with rich cheese, bringing out such a savory and satisfying taste. Pair it with local cider or fresh Guinness draft beer, and your taste buds will be totally satisfied. A well-loved spot on Rue Saint-Jean in Old Quebec. Expect a short wait on weekends. After your brunch, you can easily wander around nearby bookstores and vintage shops for a nice stroll. Rating: 5/5

The meal was mostly a hit with the shredded duck savory crepes a big hit. The French Onion soup was also very delicious! I did debate whether to try the dessert versions but ultimately stuck with the savory. The only miss was the La Cannoise, with ricotta, spinach, olives, tomato sauce, egg and pesto which was not a hit. Just a weird combination of flavors that I guess I don't find mesh well, this dish was mostly left behind. Service was really friendly and helpful.

Personally, it was a treat for me trying out something different, but I do not think everyone would appreciate its almost raw meat and liver-like texture. The Tartare comes with fries, a salad, and crouton to round up the order. We upgraded the side of fries that came with the Tartare into their Tout Cochon poutine. I was happy with that option that way I was able to sample their house poutine without needing to dedicate a full meal order for it. I can say this was among the best poutines I have had. The gravy was rich and flavourful. The poutine was also loaded with a variety of different proteins like the Gaspor farm ham and the bacon-wrapped sausage. The perron cheese curds also perfectly topped off the whole dish. Our last order was the Quebec pork chop marinated and grilled with maple and tamari. It was served with apple chutney, sweet potato mash, and seasonal vegetables. It is exactly as you would expect with the ingredient details of the dish's name. You get a lot of different flavour profiles and textures with the meal order. Some saltiness with the pork chop then some sweetness with the apple chutney. Meaty tenderness with the pork chop, mushiness with the potato mash, and then some slightly crunchiness with the seasonal vegetables. We dined on Sunday lunchtime the day before Family Day. There were people waiting to be seated by the time we arrived, but fortunately our group of only 2 people has a table spot available so did not need to wait. We were led down flights of stairs to the lower floor which was level with the street below. The whole place with its classic walls and decor exudes with classic charm.

I ordered the half rack of ribs, which was a mixed bag. The flavor was good, but several ribs were so burnt they were completely inedible--straight to the discard pile. They came with a well-dressed Caesar salad featuring seasoned croutons and delicious shaved bacon, plus sliced fried potatoes that were crispy and not greasy in the least. The thick layer of BBQ sauce wasn't quite my style--I'm a dry rub girl--but I was too hungry to care much. No photos because I devoured everything. My dining companion had a chicken sandwich she raved about. She ordered a Nordic spritz while I indulged in some Quebec cider. Honestly, I expected more pork options given the restaurant's name, but they fed us quickly and efficiently, which was exactly what we needed. No real complaints except for those burnt ribs. The interior has eclectic, cool-looking decor that's worth checking out. Our waitress provided quick and efficient service as well.
