I've been bringing my Mini to Bolts Garage for over 12 years now, and I honestly wouldn't trust it with anyone else. From day one, David has been nothing but friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely committed to taking care of both me and my car. What I really appreciate is that he's not the type to jump straight to replacing parts if a simple adjustment will do. He always takes the time to explain what's going on in a way you can actually understand, including what signs to look out for when a part might be nearing the end of its life. He also gives me a heads-up about what services or replacements might be coming down the line, so I'm never caught off guard. Didnt even get service here, stopped by to request service and the tech gave me advice on how to fix my problem. Even offered to show me in the driveway. Could of took me to the bank and cost me time and money but didnt. Shows real customer service and wit. I will for sure take my mini here any time it needs service from now on. These guys deserve the 5-star rating here. I'm very happy with the service. I bought a BMW on a whim over the summer and knew the rear wheel bearing needed replacing, among other things. I wanted to take it to someone who specializes in these cars and am lucky that the shop is close to home. David spent time diagnosing all the sounds and issues and spent a bunch of time on the phone with me explaining each in detail, including level of severity. He fixed up the wheel bearing and a handful of other problems that I wasn't aware of (some big, some small) and I immediately noticed a difference in handling and sound when driving it home. I now bring my BMW back every year for annual service and most recently a major service and it runs like a dream. read more

I'm giving Bolt's 2 stars, because they can't be reached, which makes them useless, and annoying! I have called twice recently, solidly during business hours, and got a message that they are open ~8-6, mon-fri, that I should call back during business hours, and that I could leave a message, which I did, and both times nobody got back to me (yes, I did leave complete contact info). I've used Bolt's before, and have had difficulty with them answering their phone before. Once contacted, they held up their end perfectly well, as far as I can tell, and they are nice enough to talk to, but this not answering their phone or replying to messages is a problem. I've moved to another shop with much better address and premises, the other independent BMW shop in my area, where I just had the 60K mile service done. I think they were significantly cheaper than Bolt's would have been... I think I've made the right move. read more

So much respect for this business. Went to a dealership was told I needed a full brake job immediately, which isn't a cheap job they Gave me an absurd quote. I called Bolts because I live close by they gave me a way better quote, made an appointment dropped my truck off and get a call a few hours later. They explained that my truck wasn't even close to needing brakes. 9 out of 10 places would have just done the job charged me the money and been done with it. They showed me how much life was really left on them and put everything back together for me and didn't charge me anything for it. Very very honest people, I will now be going there instead of a dealer ship from now on. read more

Do not get your Mini serviced at this garage! I had them do a simple oil change for my Mini Cooper. They topped off the coolant The heater stopped working and then the engine started overheating so I brought it to the dealership in NH because the car was still under warranty. Mini told me that whoever had serviced my car used the wrong coolant and did not put the cap back on correctly so the coolant had flown out of the car. Mini re-did the oil change for free to put in Mini parts and had to perform a coolant flush - $145. Mini suggested I present the bill to the garage. I asked Bolts to do the right thing, honestly thinking that they would, but they refused to take responsibility. Completely dishonest. I would never trust them with my vehicle! read more

Dave and his team at Bolts rock. They provide excellent, honest, affordable service - something that's very hard to come by in this trade. Bolts repaired my X3's suspension issues and replaced the tires a few months back. The cost was far more reasonable than dealer-based services I've been hosed with in the past and you drive away actually feeling like you weren't ripped off by con men. Being new to the area I needed a good independent mechanic for my BMW and MINI and went to Bolts on the strength of their reviews. I do not regret it at all--they take the time to discuss your concerns and are happy to give you a full report when the work is done. Most importantly though, you can tell they care about the work they do and their customers. They are less than the dealer but having paid dealer prices for so long I would gladly pay the same knowing that my cars are in good hands and that I trust the folks doing the work. The most honest group I have found in the area for car maintenance. David is an extremely knowledgeable mechanic The office staff is tops! All staff is friendly and professional. They seem selective about where they get their parts from as well. Mini's and BMW is there specialties but they do domestic cars as well. They replaced my water pump in my Jeep on-time and as promised. Then as a value-added service they proceeded to check out my vehicle head-to-toe for no additional fee. Found I was low on oil. They added premium quality "Castrol". Also they discovered other items I should repair/replace and let me know the priority of each repair. No hard sale or phony scary stuff like other shops. Shop rate is low compared to other local shops. If you are sick of getting the "corporate/dealer attitude" this could be your new home. All in all a wonderful experience A-Z. Met David years back where he repaired my beat up tin can for me. Did it for more than fair amount. He doesn't use cheap replacement parts, nor the most expensive. He replaces parts with what will keep the car running without busting your wallet. Never had an issue with his prices or his work. Will continue to use his services.
