After a few weeks of driving it, the check engine light came on. I took it to a Ford dealership mechanic. The history shows this engine light has been an issue. There is a known problem with this specific motor. We contacted the owner at Xtreme Auto Sales to see what could be done. The owner Kyle told us they would replace the motor for $4800. They wouldn't charge us labor. (A brand new motor can be put in for $7000). After further talks Kyle told us that for the $4800 they would be putting the same motor in that is known to fail but with less miles when we said no they offered just the bottom of the motor even after it had overheated and affected the top of the motor (I don't think they expected us to have researched the issue). Once we said no they will no longer answer our messages or phone calls. We have now messaged multiple times with no response and have called multiple times without a return call. This whole situation has been going on for weeks!!! I am very disappointed with the lack of professionalism this situation has been handled. They even admitted this was their 3rd time dealing with the same Ford motor with this problem. I will be asking our work lawyer for his advice and be filing a complaint with the BBB. Xtreme Auto Sales do not follow thru with customer service!!!! It's very disappointing that their profit margin is more important than doing the right thing. In my business, ours is the opposite.
