I love stopping by Bomas while I'm waiting for my dog at the groomer, and the customer service is always top tier. Tracy is truly the highlight. She is so personable, remembers me every time I come in, and consistently provides great service that makes the experience feel warm and welcoming. We went in and thought it was a cute place, even wondered if they rent out the extra space they have for parties. We went in sat ourselves, took a few minutes for the waitress to greet us. she was busy. We ordered our drinks with Natalie, took her about 10 minutes to bring our drinks. Again, busy. I get it. She was by herself. She actually took our drinks off the check for the long wait. We ordered fish and chips and a bacon cheeseburger, burger was a little undercooked but still good. Fish was crispy. Supporting our local businesses requires some effort and Bomas is in the area. It's early evening on a Sunday and there's probably one other party dining there when we arrive. I go with the Chicken Piccata "Chicken breast sauteed with white wine, garlic, lemon juice, capers and fresh mushrooms. Served with roasted red potatoes and vegetables." for $14.95. I was actually surprised with how tasty my chicken was, and for it being the breast part, it wasn't dry at all. My potatoes were quite the red ones that were advertised, but it served it's purpose. The Big F ordered the Ribeye Steak "A 14 oz. steak with cracked black pepper and garlic then broiled to your specifications, served with baked potato and vegetables." for $22.95. It was actually too big for him and he had leftovers! Our dinners also came with soup or salad. Soup of the day was cream of mushroom and it was a tasty soup alright. Lots of cream in it and I almost regretted that I chose the salad instead. I had requested for the dressing on the side, but it ended up on top. The vinaigrette was pretty tasty over my salad though. The Caesars salad is an option too. Service was standard. Our waitress looked like she may have been handling something else other than the two tables because she looked overworked. Typical bar and grill. Food was ok but just bar food. The nachos were made with bag chips, bag cheese and missing guacamole. The sour cream sauce was excellent. What a great little bar! Very updated design-wise (felt contemporary, yet comfortable) with a good variety of food stuffs on their menu. I went with the crispy chicken salad and I loved it....loads of spinach, perfect crispy chicken (not just a cut up chicken tender) and a delicious dressing ( come to find out they make all of their dressings in house!). Some better than average Pinot's on their list too. You can tell by taste and quality that someone thought hard about the food in this place and wanted to make this a highlight to an otherwise gaming bar. This is our neighborhood bar and we are regulars only because of the convenience and because bartender Janice is awesome. However bartender Kristen is usually rude and dismissive. One day she asked why we think she hates us and when we shared with her that she greets us with distain, she denied it and slammed a glass, instead of apologizing. When we've discussed it with other patrons, others comment how she's rude except for her favorites. Someday I hope management cares enough to tell her consistency is important especially with those who spend thousands of dollars a year there. Many days I refuse to go there if she working because I don't need her shitty attitude to ruin my day worse than it was, when I need a drink. Do They wonder why Bomas is empty when every other nearby bar is full. Get a clue and treat regulars with a smile and respect or keep flailing. The food is inconsistent at best. Some days ok and some days burnt and salty. Nevertheless bar food is bar food. You go to a neighborhood bar to unwind after a hard week, and attitude is uncalled for. read more

I attended an event here and was pleasantly surprised by this little bar. The service was excellent, and considering that the event was quite a large number of people, the staff managed to keep everyone's drinks full and get food out at a very reasonable pace. I had chicken fingers (hot) and french fries, very good, and excellent ranch dressing. If you eat hot chicken fingers with ranch dressing like me, you know that good ranch is key. This place isn't close to my house so I don't see myself just stopping in, but if I am in the neighborhood, I will definitely come back. read more

Had a good time with Dave bartending the 1st time I stopped in and wasnt charged for drinks after gambling a good bit. Had good conversation and felt welcome. When back a week later and had John as my bartender/server and was charged full for every drink after gambling at the exact same rate as I did last time and the guy could be less hospitable and friendly which was too bad because I was hoping this would be my new place to hang in but I wont be back. Like I said I will not be back again which is too bad because its so close to my home I could practically walk there. Get better staff if you want locals to want to come here and not go to the many other bars in the area. You can't miss this place either you are coming from 215 fwy or Blue Diamond blvd... It is in ISLAND FLAVOR's plaza, a big sign of BOMAS on the building! This place has two part: bar and restaurant, but both of them are quiet (maybe because I always check-in at lunch time). I like their wraps... I like their breakfast menu... Since we had a Restaurant.com gift certificate, we headed here the other day for a late lunch. Now this place seemed totally fine for drinking, but this review is based on the food. The service was ok, though very slow. And the food just seemed to take way too long to come out. We started off with the appetizer combo platter. It definitely all seemed like it was something that was just popped in the microwave. The wings were decent. The jalapeno spinach dip was actually pretty tasty. Everything else was a fail. For entrees, we had the BBQ beef sandwich and the BBQ burger. The sandwich was ok. Not too bad on flavor. And I even enjoyed the pasta salad that I chose as the side. The burger, however, was barely edible and the fries were left almost completely untouched. Now, there could be other menu items that are great. The BBQ flavors were decent enough that I would try other BBQ menu items. And the breakfast part of the menu did have some tasty sounding things. But based on this one experience and the food we had, there's no way I can give it more than 2 stars. read more

"A-ok" for me considering it was a spur of the moment "what's open at midnight?" food grab (with restaurant.com offer) What's weird in this town is that a couple of bars that actually had great food went out of business and those that serve the typical burgers and appetizers maintain a steady clientele, go figure. Anyway, I ordered the ribeye steak medium rare, it came out medium well. Sweet potato tots were good, baked potato- alright. Shrimp scampi and the angel hair pasta a little dry...I think you could go to a second rate buffet that has a live cooking station (Red Rock, Silverton) and get a better shrimp scampi over angel hair. I guess my mistake was to go for the entrees expecting a good dinner when it's really a place to grab nachos and burgers and other finger food so I won't really burn them for it. If you want a truly terrible takeout experience, order from Bomas. We ordered a few simple sandwiches from the menu, had a few simple requests (hold the mayo, hold the onions, mushrooms etc). Every single food item was wrong. Cup of chilli was hotdog chilli quality, cold and loaded with raw red onions, two of the sandwiches had mayo and onions, neither sandwich listed mayo as an ingredient on the menu, but NEVERTHELESS we made sure to let them know that we don't want mayo or onions on ANYTHING. There was mayo and onions on EVERYTHING and awful little rubber mushrooms on the dog food quality steak. The soup was also cold and quite boring. On top of that, this bar is an absolute dump, the staff is completely disinterested in everything, and the bar is loaded up with career drunks and gambling addicts who stare daggers at every unfortunate female who happens to come through the doors, like a bunch of date-rape predators. Do yourself a favor and go literally anywhere else. If I could give 0/5 Stars I certainly would. The fries weren't the worst ever. read more

Bartenders get 5 stars! I have been going to Bomas for over a decade and used to love this bar. Ever since the new manager was hired, things have gone downhill. Examples: Parties: Bomas parties used to be amazing. The food, the atmosphere, the decorations were all great. The last party they had was on a Monday night (most of the Bomas crowd are business people) from 6-11 pm. There was a few small snacks, prizes were few and far between, and the grand prize was not given away until 11pm. They are not even doing Halloween this year. The decorations used to be very cool. Food: the food used to be really good. Now it is very inconsistent. I ordered a taco salad and the meat was cold. Never even heard of that before. Sunday morning I ordered eggs over medium and they cane out hard as a rock. Second set was the same, with cold toast. My husband's eggs Benedict was perfect: however. I do want to give credit where credit is due. Football: Bomas has always had the football package where you can watch all of the games. Not this year, though. Gaming: I have been watching the board. Jackpots are down. I do know the owner has been made aware of these issues (I asked the bar tenders to voice my concerns). Nothing has changed. I am not sure what is going on. I am hoping things change soon. As I said, the bartenders are fabulous! read more

Just went in with the Hubs for Happy Hour. Had a couple of Blue Moons and nachos. Blue Moons, great, nachos not so great. This is a great local bar but the food for years has been subpar at best! This place has the rudest bartender! Her name is Janice. Every time we go here she is rude and very unprofessional! She is clearly unhappy with her life and her career and takes it out on her customers. She doesn't wash her hands and sits on the side of the bar smoking her cigarettes and doesn't wash her hands before touching everyone's drinks. OSHA needs to come in and see how unsanitary Janice is. I will make sure to pass it on to all my family and friends to never step foot in there. read more

I really, REALLY wanted this place to be better. I have a feeling I got it on an off day. I've passed by Bomas for over a year now; it's so close to my house and I finally went in for breakfast today. I'm a huge fan of the cracked egg, but I wanted something fast and close to home since I was starving. I ordered eggs over easy with bacon, sausage patties, sourdough toast. Bacon was crispy, sausage was fine, toast is toast... the eggs were really runny. It looked good coming out, the service was excellent, but my dish was cooked improperly. I was so disappointed in the food. I'm definitely going to try it again, though, because I actually like the bar and the ambiance. Look for an update in the next few days from me! read more

I'm going to admit, we came here solely because of a restaurant.com certificate. This is just an ok place to catch a bite and a beer in the area, but if you stay within the confines of spending $35 bucks here (including your beer), you'll actually get away with a pretty cheap meal. I went with my usual wings + side salad no carb meal, and the wings were nothing special. Flavor wise they were good (but it's hard to screw up hot sauce and butter), but crunch wise they were a little soggy. My husband's food was forgettable, so much that I forgot what he ate. The highlight was the beer, game in huge chilled glasses and was really refreshing on a warm summer night. With tip we paid less than $15 which for what we had was a bargain, but even at these prices with the certificate I'm not really itching to go back. read more

I must say that I am so disappointed that the food quality has gone down tremendously. Who in the heck puts mushrooms in nachos but no jalapenos?! Who has tacos but has no taco sauce available?! The prime rib is terrible! And the rib eye is not even a rib eye!! The food at Bomas used to be very good, but not now?? I thought maybe it was just a mistake, but no this place has horrible food now! It's a mystery....Why??And how is this so?? The place on the other hand is very nice and clean, the machine are very good and the bartenders are great but the menu needs a major overhaul and the person in-charge of the kitchen needs to do better than that. This is the first time I have gone to Bomas. A very relaxing atmosphere. My wife and I stopped in for dinner about a week ago. They have a nice dining area, separate from the bar. A few minutes after we were eating, the cook approached us. I think his name was William. He asked how everything was. I told him the food was delicious.. He thanked me for my input and walked away. What a great happy hour! I've passed this place a ton of times but finally decided to stop in a see. The decor sorta feels like a living room, which is a little strange, but it was comfortable so it works. We saw the happy hour appetizer menu and with everything $5, decided to pick three. Pretzel bites with cheese - SOOOOO GOOD. That cheese is out of this world. Artichoke dip - Definitely not like any I had had before but it was really good as well. It also comes with chips and pita bread so it's nice to have a choice. Chicken Skewers with Peanut Sauce - Pretty simple but had a little kick. Good as well! The waiter was a nice guy and overall, while the set up of the place is a little different the food and service was great. Next time we want to try the nachos! THAT CHEESE SAUCE. The service is definitely spotty. Depending on the bartender (I have been here 4 or 5 times) it is either really good or really bad. I do have a food review, however: $5.95 Steak Special- This is a monthly special that seems to not expire. For a very reasonable price you get a very poor cut of meat (appx 6 oz), but it is wonderfully seasoned. I opted for the Mashed Potatoes and Gravy and it also included a healthy portion of brocolli, carrots, and squash. Excellent meal for the price. I was quite impressed. My better half had a Veggie Sandwich and she complimented it more than once. She made it clear that she would definitely order it again, so a decent option for the more health conscious. I've eaten here plenty of times and I can honestly say that I love the food! The hamburgers are always good! The fries....THE FRIES!!! SOOO GOOD! Chicken fingers are good too! The sweet potatoe tots are really, really good! I always go during the day so not to sure if it's a different crew at night. The only thing preventing it from 5 stars is that if you want prompt service, you have to either sit in the bar area or let the person know that you are in the regular dining area or else you could be waiting for awhile until someone comes and checks that area at first. read more

Here's my update. I still love the bartenders even though Christin hates me. They got rid of they horrendous kitchen manager and the food has gotten much better......... This bar manager Bret though. If one was trying to lose patrons, this is your guy. It seems he's another guy who is looking for his own bottom line and interest and not trying to make the experience for us loyal patrons worth coming back for. Getting rid of the football package is as boneheaded as it gets. People are simply going to go to PTs or distilled and this includes big time gamblers. And his influence on the kitchen is what's keeping this place from being the great place it was when I started coming here. I'm still very loyal, but only because of bartenders Janice, Brian, Tracy, Barker etc. as they are very fun,attentive and good at their jobs. I know I'm not the only patron who feels this way and don't understand why ownership doesn't see it. I think I came in here with the right expectation. I wanted a burger, some kind of pub appetizer, and a few beers, and that's exactly what I got. service, good. beer, good. burgers, great! and all for a fair price. my bf and I both ordered the Bacon Avocado Burger, and I asked for the burger cooked well done. it showed up looking tasty, charred on the outside and juicy on the inside. bacon on the burger was crisp, and the avocado was fresh and tasty. I had the sweet potato tots, and bf had the fries, I ate all mine and cleaned his leftovers. they were both SO good, just about the perfect sides for our burgers. we also ordered the pretzels, and while the cheese sauce was thin, it was packed with flavor. we sat on the bar side, wasn't too smoky and we could vape at the bar. very friendly!! will go back when I'm craving a burger again. read more
