It's a pretty run of the mill gaming bar in most aspects, they have your usual selection of drinks and a reasonably sized menu nothing too special. I ordered the Reuben and spam musubi as an appetizer they were decent the prices were also standard I would have paid 20 or so but I had an LVA coupon which comped most of the meal. Gaming quality is as usual bad but unfortunately normal for most gaming bars which is less than 97% return video poker. At the very least the players club is good another Jett gaming run club which gives $20 free play as a welcome offer, points and various free plays promotions while actively playing. As far as the service goes it was good for the most part they took my coupon, made me a card, were attentive and changed the TV channel to the game I wanted to watch which I appreciated. It was just two things that rubbed me the wrong way. First when you cash out you don't get your cents on the ticket which I didn't want anyway but seems odd to not even ask. The second is I paid cash for my food bill in excess of what I owed the female bartender took it and said nothing to me just going to her other customers, I was still watching the game waiting for her to offer me my change but she never came back. I then told her I gave her $10 for what was a $4.50 bill or so and that I wanted her to keep the change as my tip anyway just making sure she hadn't accidentally locked it up then she asked "what do you want your $5 back?" In a condescending tone to which I said she could keep it but I wanted to make sure to tell her because she never said anything to me or even asked she just automatically took my change for her tip which is a very sleazy thing to do and made me feel like I was being hustled by this broad. I've never experienced that at any bar or restaurant the polite thing to do is at least ask. Overall it's an ok bar I believe there are a lot of better options even in that area but it wouldn't hurt to stop by. Personally I wouldn't visit again unless promotions and mailers made it worth it to do so. read more

Hey I really like this bar! Plenty of screens with nothing but games! Hockey, basketball, there was an old football game on and I forgot what else. Excellent service and they have my favorite beer! Came here to watch some playoff basketball on a Sunday. Service was sup par the bartender was all over the place and forgot to place our order and had to remind her several times about things. Ambiance is a vibe and they have area to play darts and if you are watching any tv they give you a personal speaker to listen to the game. We got fried pickle chips - beware these are thick 4-5pc slices not the usual small cut chips. They were ok, Their sauces seemed to be made in house and seem to be a scratch kitchen We also got their chicken tenders- they were delicious. They have this sauce called spiteful that was amaizng! Also got a side of fries that were perfectly done! Joel saved the day by helping us with the food order and drinks. Unfortunately, this place has suffered since closing the original site. Scooter, the owner, is very welcoming, and a great host. We went over to the new location on Jones Street. Had a great time with a great waitress, Heidi. Very attentive and great waitress. We were allowed to smoke our cigars until recently when a new manager, Doogie took over We now we're not allowed to smoke our cigars, yer most of the other patrons are smoking cigarettes while everyone's eating. When we called to see if there was cigar smoking aloud, we were told that it was. After arriving and having breakfast, I proceeded to light up my cigar and within a few minutes, Doobie came over and requested that I stopped smoking my cigar and extinguish it. When inquiring of the cigarettes were gonna stop, he declined, and gave me no option. We left. This was in September. Yesterday, November 1, I called and inquired whether we were going to be allowed to smoke cigars. I was told we could, so I came in with a group of seven people I proceeded to eat. After we ate, we're preparing to smoke, but I asked ahead of time, and Doogie once again did not want us to smoke. I let him know that I had made a phone call prior and that we were told by the person that answered the phone that we could smoke. He reluctantly let us smoke a cigar The next day we returned, and once again, I called to see if we could smoke our cigars and we were told yes. We got breakfast and when we went to smoke our cigars, Doogie said that we could not do it. It was his bar and it was up to him to monitor what the client wanted. I reminded Doogie that we were there yesterday and that he allowed us to smoke , after I told him I had called prior. He stated that the only reason if you're allowed to smoke was because we had called and I've been told that we could smoke cigars. He finished our meal, when the game was over we left unhappily. The group was prepared to stay there for the rest of the day into the evening to watch football buy drinks and eat. We will not be returning. Scooters, if you read this, hope that you can get the rules and your staff on the same page. We were happy to be there watch the game, eat and drink, but indecision about cigar smoking in a bar smoking is allowed is a real bummer. Love this place! My boyfriend was a regular here last football season, and I finally got to see why. We came for breakfast on NFL's opening weekend and what started as a 2-top turned into a fun 5-top when friends joined, then more fans gathered around the big butcher block table near the bar. If you're looking for the best wings in Las Vegas, look no further than Sporting Life Bar on Robindale & Jones. The menu might just say "whole wings" with carrots, celery, and ranch, but don't let that fool you--this is hands down one of the most underrated food items in town. A waitress described them as "pterodactyl wings," and honestly, that's the perfect name. These are not your average bar wings. From what I was told, they're marinated for hours, dry-rubbed, and then deep fried in duck fat. None of that is listed on the menu, but it should be--because these wings are worth traveling across the city for. My personal recommendation: order them plain with sauce on the side. The flavor of the meat and the crispy skin stands on its own--rich, savory, and absolutely addictive. Then you can decide whether to dip into buffalo, ranch, or whatever you like. Our table ordered a variety--plain, buffalo, Asian-style, and the "Spiteful Buffalo." The name does not lie. That one brings the heat, and it lingers in the best possible way. Everyone at the table was satisfied, and every plate was clean by the end. Huge shoutout to the owner: please consider updating the menu description (or even renaming them "Pterodactyl Wings" as the waitress called them). These wings deserve the spotlight. This place, like Rawbery up the road, is nonstop five stars. I've had so many items off the menu over the years and they continue to impress. Everything is always fresh and tastes so good. We stopped in here on Saturday night after a party at a new friend's house. We were still a little hungry, and wanted to play darts, and had seen Sporting Life Bar a couple times over the last 2 weeks. It was about 7/7:30 on Saturday night. The bar is a lot bigger than I'd anticipated, and it was very full, but not crowded at all, if that makes sense. There was trivia going on over on one side of the bar, and they had a whole wall of dart boards, with a few people playing. We got darts and menus from our server (I really wish I'd gotten her name, she was very nice), and checked out the menu. Over the course of the evening, we ordered the following: 1 beer 3 Gin and Tonics 1 shot of gin (I know. I'm weird, but I needed to do a shot so I'd throw the darts better. lol) The beer mac n cheese Skins and balls bacon wrapped dates. First and foremost: All that (5 drinks and three food items) only came out to about $45. That is truly NOT BAD. The drinks were strong and very good. The food was actually quite good. We weren't huge fans of the bacon wrapped dates because they were deep fried. The texture was a little off-putting, but the flavor was still alright. The beer mac n cheese (Tenaya Creek Brown Ale cheddar sauce, bacon and Cajun bread crumbs) was really good. I'm a mac n cheese snob, and I loved this. Constructive criticism: I'd love to have it be just a touch creamier (it was pretty creamy for bar mac n cheese, but I think it could have been just a touch better) and needed just a pinch of salt. But it tasted homemade, and had some great flavors. Really well done. One of the better bar mac n cheeses I've had. The skins and balls: (potato skins and croquettes with smoked gouda, bacon, green onion and sour cream) these were the winners of the night. SO. GOOD. I will 100% order these again. The location is super open, and I loved how even with trivia going on, there was still music playing, and we didn't have to shout to hear each other. They have an upstairs which I'm assuming is for private parties. If I had one complaint, its that it was REALLY hot in the bar. Like...it was almost the same temperature as it was outside. With a bar that big, I imagine that it has to be pretty difficult to keep it cooler, which is understandable, but it was really difficult for us to want to stay past one game of darts and finishing the food we ordered. We definitely plan to come back, we just might have to wait until its a little cooler. (apparently, it was super cold upstairs, my 2 partners in crime snuck upstairs to take a look and said it was super cold up there.) read more

First: Ohio State game days, this place comes alive! It's crowded, it's hype, it's warm, and it's full of positive energy! My best friend (an OSU alum) was in town visiting me and they were playing Michigan. So, of course we went to THE OSU Alum bar in town. It was crowded (standing room) and the service was a little slower than you might've liked, but everyone was in good spirits, including staff. The bar owner was walking around to check on patrons and thank them for their business, so that was a nice touch. The chicken wings are really good...and I know wings! Four whole wings, fried until they have a crunch, coated in sauce, and the thickest blue cheese dressing I've ever seen (it was almost like a paste). Hawaiian food: they also have Hawaiian specials that they serve randomly on a weekly basis. I'm talkin' oxtail soup, chicken katsu loco moco, etc but you gotta catch them on those days. My friend lives in the area and came in on a Tuesday night and loved it. He said the drinks and food he got were good and that there was trivia! So when he asked me to come out on a Thursday to check it out, I was DOWN!!! We walk in, sit at the bar, start playing video poker. It took over 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge our presence. The bartender (who was directly in front of us) seemed to not even see that we were there. She served the people next to us and was eating out of her Styrofoam container, wasn't phased at all by our staring. Luckily, the other bartender stopped by, seeing we had no drinks, and asked if we needed anything. We decided to move on to play some darts and got much better service. Honestly, if we had just had Christina as our server the whole time, this review might be closer to a 3 than a 2. We ordered the chicken tenders, coated in the the Bourbon sauce with sweet potato fries and ranch on the side and the carne asada nachos. The chicken tenders were great. Super crispy even though they were sauced up. Very very good. The nachos were a bit dry even though there was lots of cheese. Could have used sour cream or something. I ended up eating just 1/4th of it. Christina had to come back to tell us there weren't sweet potato fries but that she would give us regular fries gratis. That was really nice. We had some normal drinks at first (beer and a margarita) but when we saw the menu we decided to order some specialties. Wish we didn't. The shandy was not good. Watered down so it tasted like lemon water with alcohol. I wanted to return it but my friend just downed it and tried not to taste it. We also got the watermelon drink. When the shandy was brought to us, Christina informed me that it would take a while for my drink as they were making the watermelon juice. When it finally came, it tasted just like watermelon puckers. There was definitely no real watermelon juice in there. Tasted like soap or kids perfume/lotion. It sucks because I did like the vibe of this place and Christina is a gem. It really does feel like a fun place to have a good time but I just can't overlook my first impression of the service, the really not good drinks and the ok food. Been here a few times and I promise that I actually really wanted to love this place. It is so promising being an Ohio bar with all the TVs man cavers long for playing every single sport. They even have darts in the back and booths with chargers. If you have been to places where the staff makes or breaks an experience for you, this would be one of those places. I can't recall any names but they can stand to be just a little bit friendlier. The menu has a variety of options but the last time we were there, our 2 sandwiches tasted alike (some kind of spice they both had we couldn't put a finger on), which was weird because we got a steak sandwich and a Reuben. We had stayed to watch UFC and the VGK game but felt like they didn't want us to stay any longer. I live all the way in Centennial and made the 45min drive just to check this place out. I had a great time! Specifically, I wanted to play steel tip darts and heard that they host tournaments and wanted to check it out. First off the bartender are very friendly and attentive. Neil went above and beyond to answer my questions about the tournaments and gave excellent service. So thanks Neil it was appreciated! They have an excellent and extensive beer selection that is wonderfully priced. Sometimes I go to bars and feel ripped off by their prices when you order something other than a draft. I was able to enjoy some dark speciality beers and not break the bank. Excellent food prices as well. My party ordered the giant pretzel and the pulled pork sliders and was it delicious. I really love their dart area. I brought my own with me but I did check out the ones that they have available and I must say they weren't bad. They have 4 dart board and it's free to play! One of the boards is a bit warped and needs replacing but the other 3 are in good shape. I'm also a fan of pinball and they have a Medival Times off to the right and it actually works. This is one of my go to places after hours to eat but recently, I noticed that the prices have changed each time I go there. I'd like to leave a tip, but at the end of the day if my cheeseburger is starting to add up to $20 by itself makes me think what are they doing to make $12 cheeseburger and fries. Started saving my receipts just to see the difference if you are my receipt show $13 another to show $15 food and last two receipts have added up to $19. Guess I won't be a regular anymore plus I don't drink, so no reason why my price should change. And if the Chef is not there, it makes the special burgers side, even worth ordering. No need to mention I don't eat pork and then they put bacon on my burger and only thing they did to remove. It was just take it off and serve me the same burger which kind of was disrespectful. Coworker introduced me to this bar because he knows I am a Ohio State Fan. So we have been coming to watch football almost every Sunday. Have to say the bar has a great ambiance inside. There are TVs everywhere and a huge flat screen towards the back. They also run great specials during football season and the staff is always friendly. My go to special are the beef sliders and chicken sliders with Bourbon sauce. The flavor is always amazing! I usually get the bloody Mary which is usually a hit or miss. My coworker always gets a pitcher or 5 of PBR that is only $2.75 I believe. Not my first choice for beer but you cant beat the price. They have other great menu options for $5 and other drink specials as well. I usually stick to the usual because I'm pretty basic and boring like that.
