The staff and the owner were very welcoming from the second I walked into the door! You can tell they take pride and love what they do. There is nothing like going to a family owned and run business that makes you want to keep going back to support them, but when you truly loved the food it makes it even easier to happily go back time and time again! This place is what Chipotle thinks it is in its wildest, most unattainable fantasies. Got a chicken bowl with almost every topping they have. The thing that really ties the bowl together and takes it over the top is the heaps of caramelized onions and roasted garlic. I could eat bowls of just that. Tried this place for the first time. We got here around 5pm and there wasn't any wait. The staff was very helpful and even accommodated my request to have the toppings on only half of my burrito bowl- I was going to share it with my youngest child. I got the beef and it was tasty and fall apart tender. The roasty boiz (whole roasted garlic cloves), the pickled Anaheim peppers and the pickled red onions were tasty additions to my burrito bowl. I recommend all three of them. I also got the spicy bean sauce and it has the perfect amount of heat. The only gripe I had was that the sour cream was in a squeeze bottle and it wasn't enough for me. Of course if I was paying attention I could have asked for more and I'm sure they would've happily squirted some more on. It might be perfect for those of you who love things evenly drizzled over everything. The crunchiess that are on the menu are broken up bits of their blue corn tortilla chips. Being that you can't order online yet- I had my older son's order written on a piece of paper. They made life so much easier by taking the paper. One worker worked on his order while another prepared my burrito bowl. My older son got a chicken burrito and it seriously was humongous! I sampled some of his chicken and it was one of the moistest that I have ever eaten! Good flavor too! I didn't want to spend $2 getting queso on my burrito bowl (I wanted to get my money's worth!) so we got the chips ($2) with queso ($3). This was on the "must try" list. On the first attempt, the line was quite long (out the door and 20 feet down the parking lot) and time was of the essence. On our second attempt, a Tuesday evening just after 6, we were lucky. Only two people ahead of us. There is a step by step digital board to guide you through your options, which is similar to that sub shop assembly line you are probably familiar with. The owner started out my burrito order with a friendly attitude and then passed along to other capable hands. We got our food and chose to sit at a table. The line never completely stopped and reached the door at 6:30. Even though they close at 7, they still took customers and didn't close their doors until 7:15. The staff was friendly and patient. The restaurant is neat and clean and has a good style to make for a pleasant visit. And of course, most importantly, the burritos are good. Just like the long lines would indicate, you'll want to come back for more. Kudos to any business that can withstand Covid delaying their opening and handling all the changes seamlessly. I ordered a burrito bowl with black beans, pickled onions and Fresno chilies, fajita veg and a really lovely corn/cabbage salsa. The helpings are generous (the Mr got a burrito that must have weighed two pounds), and they've got so many options that I don't think I'll ever get bored trying new combinations. I'm so glad Westerly attracts small businesses as opposed to big franchises, and Bomb Burritos is a great addition to a town without counter-service burritos. After what seems like forever, BB&B is finally open! We went at a very random time on a Saturday and luckily missed all the lines we've seen on social media. We were warmly greeted and then provided descriptions of each offering as we moved down the line. I got a bowl with a cauliflower base, which I was initially worried about before I saw it - but worry not! It was actual fresh roasted cauliflower that had been broken down, not the frozen stuff! The pico and guac were super fresh tasting and the queso was velvety and delicious. The pork had a nice flavor but was a little dry. I added some "roasty boiz" which are roasted, seasoned garlic cloves that packed an extra punch. The BF got a hefty burrito with the beef and even though it was packed with other things, the yummy flavor of the meat came through. After we finished our meal, we agreed to get some chips and queso to go since I had a little food regret from not trying the chips. Imagine our surprise receiving them on the house! I'd give Bomb Burritos & Bowls a solid 3 1/2 stars. They're pretty new so we understand they are working out the kinks- looking forward to when they get their online ordering up & working, but in the meantime the ordering experience works a lot like a particular Mexican-ish chain restaurant- start at one end & work your way down the line until your order is complete. We all enjoyed our burritos- the roasted garlic as an addition absolutely exceeded my expectations! Why hadn't I ever thought of adding roasted garlic to my burrito before? Genius! However, the queso is no bueno. It's not queso, but more like a dressing of some variety which is too bad because their blue chips are fantastic but would be better with something to dip them into. Ah well- at least the burritos are tasty. Looking forward to trying them again & seeing how the restaurant evolves. read more
