Lauren and I from RI: The Pizza State decided to meet up at Little Country Pizza in Exeter for a holiday lunch today. Pierre Boutros and Jen Boutros joined our group as experts from day one and have become friends, and we wanted to visit with them before they close for the holidays. We started with a grandma slice because that's my favorite style and I haven't had it here before. The slice arrived with that golden-brown finish and leopard spots where Pierre's oven does its best work. I picked it up. Impossibly light. I tore off a piece to check the structure. Look at that. Those aren't polite little air bubbles. Those are irregular, cathedral-sized pockets that tell you this dough got the time it needed. Pierre knows his fermentation schedule and he respects it. Most places pull grandma slices early because they're watching the clock. Pierre's watching the dough. Each bite compressed down to almost nothing, then sprang back. The cheese browned in all the right spots without going bitter. The sauce stayed underneath where it belongs on a grandma pie, supporting everything else instead of announcing itself. Pierre's parents bought this place in 1988. He grew up in it. He could cut corners now and most people wouldn't notice. He doesn't. Then we ordered two pies. One grilled chicken with pepperoni, one straight pepperoni. The chicken pizza arrives with the chicken hidden under the cheese. Smart move. Keeps it from drying out. But here's what matters: that chicken doesn't disappear under everything else. The flavor comes through clear and distinct. It tastes like the chicken in your mom's chicken soup when you were growing up. The pepperoni pie is what I judge every place by. The pepperoni cups properly. Gets those crispy edges with little pools of oil that you're either into or you're not. I'm into it. The cheese browns perfectly without crossing into bitter territory. Pierre's sauce leans savory. Not sweet like most Rhode Island places. It's balanced but you can taste the tomato and the garlic more than the sugar. Unique. Works. The crust on both pies shows the same attention to detail. Most places get it right once in a while. Pierre gets it right every time. Then we ordered a Smokey and the Bandit Samzone. Half sandwich, half calzone. It's one of Pierre's viral creations. Inside: smoked brisket and mac and cheese. That's it. Bacon studded on top. BBQ sauce on the side. The smoke hits you before you bite in. Not subtle. That brisket spent serious time in the smoker. The meat pulls apart without resistance. The mac and cheese does what it's supposed to do. Creamy. Doesn't fight with the brisket. Just supports it. The dough holds everything together without turning into a soggy mess, which is harder than it sounds when you're stuffing mac and cheese and brisket into pizza dough. We finished with an apple pie dessert pizza. It arrives covered in streusel with apple chunks breaking through the crumble. The ice cream comes on the side. Vanilla scoops dusted with cinnamon sugar. This is your mom's apple pie. The apples are soft but not mushy. The streusel adds that butter and brown sugar crunch. The crust underneath stays crisp enough to support everything without turning into a wet mess. The ice cream with warm apple pie is exactly what you want. Pierre could've stopped at pizza. He's already making some of the best in Rhode Island. But he doesn't stop. He keeps creating. Keeps making things people didn't know they wanted. That's the difference between running a pizzeria and building something that matters.
Little Country Pizza never misses. The Italian Stallion was absolutely amazing -- hands down the best pizza creation ever. Perfectly balanced flavors, loaded with toppings, and cooked just right. You can tell real care goes into every pie. If you haven't tried the Italian Stallion yet, you're seriously missing out. This spot is officially in my regular rotation.
What can i say about this place. Had a steak and cheese calzone, STALIONIZED!!! Whatever calzone you make, make sure to add this option. You will not be disappointed!! Very clean place. Service was great, even when busy, you don't get ignored.

It took awhile to get here, and it was sooooooooo worth the trip! I ordered an Italian Stallion and it was fantastic!!!! The dough was so light and fluffy, delicious meats inside with lettuce, tomatoes, onion and banana peppers! I also ordered a pepperoni pizza, absolutely delicious as well! Staff was so sweet and friendly, Pierre the owner came out and asked how everything was, very nice man. If you haven't gotten it yet, get there it's definitely worth the trip.
Spacious inside, clean, excellent service and even better pizza!! The pizzas here are really good, whether you are getting a pep and cheese or the famous Italian stallion! They also sell different kinds of baklava as a treat! Everything that I have had here has tasted fresh and was cooked perfectly. It's nice to have a small business that hustles and serves good pizza so close to home! They also offer gluten free options.
This is gonna be long but they deserve this much attention! Made the trek from Boston to Exeter after hearing about Little Country Pizza and OH MY SWEET FREAKIN' BABY JEEBUS IT WAS WORTH THE DRIVE! The place is immaculate. Plenty of seating and every table is spotless. The small bar area is well stocked and they have a great selection of beers and beverages. The minute we walked in we were greeted with a smile and a warm welcome from Jen. Definitely A+ for customer service. We ordered 2 small Samzones. The Italian Stallion and the Greek Freak. A small is HUGE! There's is no skimping on fillers. These things were like works of art. Once we finally got done admiring then we took our first bite. When I tell you it's like biting into a piece of heaven I mean it. The dough was perfectly cooked and had the best crisp. It's not overwhelmingly thick so you really get an enjoyable bite of everything. Like I said before, they don't skimp on fillings. The side of taziki we got with our Greek Freak was absolutely some of the BEST I've ever had. Flavor was the perfect balance of garlic and cucumber and the consistency was thick, not soupy like some places. It was so good we bought a pint! When Jen came to check on how we were doing and asked how everything was I told her that it was like "sex in a sandwich". Yeah... perhaps a little crass but I meant it. That's how amazing everything was. After that statement, Chef Pierre came out to say Hi because appreciated the sentiment. We were lucky enough to get a taste of his homemade hot sauce. This stuff blows every other hot sauce out of the water. Perfect balance of savory, smoke, and heat. He definitely knows how to cook and you can tell he's passionate about every single thing he prepares. From the minute we walked in to the moment we left we experienced nothing but absolute greatness! I HIGHLY recommend everyone make the trek and fill your bellies with ALL of the deliciousness that they make!
Onion Rings were good. Italian Stallion was not worth the $25 price. Garden salad with chicken? The color of the chicken, grey, threw me off and couldnt eat it-greens were too wet as well so it was soggy and was thrown away. Not sure ill be back-$49 plus a $10 tip and I feel ripped off.

**November 2025: Sunday Late Morning Visit** I had ulterior motives to coming to Little Country Pizza as my friend and I had been Dambo Troll hunting all morning and I was in dire need of a bathroom. We walked in thinking we could probably grab a drink or patron the restaurant to use their facilities and were greeted by the host with open arms. I asked what their shop was known for and she immediately said the Italian Stallion was their claim to fame. My friend and I decided we could share one. The ambiance is very casual and homey. As we waited I noticed a table of self serve water along with some board games. I helped myself to a glass and was started by how crisp and clean it tasted. I drank 4 glasses of that refreshing water and even complimented it to our waitress. She proudly thanked me and said that it was well water and the same water was used to proof the pizza dough. We did wait a bit (maybe 20 minutes or so), but it looked like it was made to order and we demolished the pepperoni calzone, sandwich. I never thought to have a pepperoni pizza as the bread part of the sando and the crisp lettuce combined with the pungent raw onion gave ever bite a different texture and burst of flavor. We were happy campers. I'm still thinking about that well water even a week later. I would definitely come back again. read more
I can't express how pleased my family and I are eating at this wonderful restaurant in Exeter, RI. My family absolutely loved the Italian Stallion Samzone (half sandwich and half calzone). I am vegan so I ordered something that was not on the menu a pizza with spinach, olives, and mushrooms without cheese since I am allergic to dairy. I am happy to report that they gave me no problem whatsoever accommodating dairy and oil allergies unlike most restaurants. Owners Jen, Pierre, and Stavros said ch amazing human beings and were so welcoming and personable. They treated us like family. Great personalities. The homemade pizza crust is sooooo delicious!!! The cheese pepperoni and olive pizza ordered crispy was delicious! We can't wait to go back and try their sub sandwiches made with their homemade bread that is baked fresh and every day. Busy place but great service & a decent pizza. I'd say better than the typical "house of pizza" located somewhere in your town. The real deal here is the calzone. Try the Italian Stallion - it's really tasty and a must try if you're coming here. read more

This is a pretty decent spot if you happen to be driving by, but I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here again. It's cozy and seems like a real mom-and-pop type place with very nice staff. I enjoyed eating in the sun outside at the picnic tables. Tried the famous Italian stallion and it was good, but not rave worthy. The best part was the crispy pepperoni on top. The sandwich itself was a little too vinegary (and served with a side of vinegar which was certainly not necessary) read more

Camping in the area and decided to give this place a try. Ordered up 2 large orders of bone-n wings. Buffalo and Cajun dry rub. Wings are smoked and then fried...which means they are NOT breaded and yes, they are YUMMAY! Sauce and rubs are homemade, perfect amount of seasoning and spice. Crispy on the outside, meaty and juicy. Wife and son got the Gyro's and had nothing but good things to say. They make homemade tea, lemonade and even orangeade....which we got a sample of. Really good! Got some of their homemade Greek dessert treats and coffee to finish off the night. Also really good. Atmosphere is really nice. They recently remodeled the inside (see photos) and I highly recommend it for families, or if on a date, you can eat at the cozy bar. Owners are super friendly, and I have to say their food and drink has 'character' to it....so don't think this is just a typical NE pizza joint. Don't wait...go soon! Ordered two pizzas. One pepperoni, the other cheese. The two servers working the counter were the most perky and friendly that I have ever encountered. The ambiance has a more modern vibe while still retaining the feel of a small town pizza shop. read more

Perfect lunch stop driving from the Cape back to PA. We shared a large Italian Stallion stuffed grinder calzone. It was amazing and we will definitely stop back again. Also dog friendly with outdoor picnic tables. read more

Worth the trip to little country pizza! Amazing crust and fresh toppings. We've been twice. Tried the Greek pizza. Highly recommended. Spinach is seasoned just right. Another time we tried the eggplant calzone. Needed some extra marinara on the side for that. Delicious house made veggie chili with fresh cheeeese! Delicious. Authentic baklava in four varieties available for dessert for those with a sweet tooth! Friendly husband and wife team owners. Overall great experience at little country pizza! read more

This place was a pleasant surprise. From the outside it didn't look that promising. But when me and hubby walked in, we were surprised. Looks newly renovated with an old country charm vibe. Fresh flowers on the table. As you walk in you're greeted with fresh baclava and section of cakes pre-sliced cake; carrot, tiramisu and snicker/Oreo moose and a bunch of other ones. Oh! And a nice man that attended to us right away. As we waited for our order, we enjoyed a pistachio and walnut baclava, which was flaky, sweet and filled with a good amount of nut mixture. They were both tasty but I like the pistachio one better. We ordered an Italian grinder with a side of fries and shared it. The sandwich was super fresh, big and yummy. The fries were crispy and pre-salted in a brine. This spot surprised me in multiple ways which compelled me to write a review. Just as good as any other Panera bread if not better.
