Review: I had an awful experience at Bombay Salon on MacArthur Blvd. I went in expecting a proper haircut, but the entire service was rushed and finished in less than 2 minutes. There was no care, no professionalism, and absolutely no effort put into the haircut. Yet, they charged me the full price as if I received a premium service. What makes it worse is that my friends had similar bad experiences at the same location. This place is most unprofessional with terrible customer service and just treats the customer like shit. I called in before arriving and ensured they aren't too busy. Once I came in they made me initially wait for 10 mins, thought that I would be let in soon. I was there to get my eyebrows done. In the process of waiting, I was seeing that any one who came in, they were taking care of them first, perhaps just because they were getting their hair done and may be opportunity to make more money with them. They let me in after more than an hour. I was hoping they would be gentle with my eye brows but guess what, they were so harsh on my eye brows that it hurt terribly and they just didnt care (I have got this done at other places and never this bad). This is the only business that honors walk-ins over appointments. I called hours ahead, and was told I'd have to wait since rooms were occupied. In the meantime, other services were up sold ti make up for time. It would be funny if time weren't if essence on this particular day. I paid 30$ for a mask that was not mentioned on their menu of services. Assumably they have a mandate to extract a certain amount from customers in order to make it worth their while. Lash Extensions: 5-Star They are quick at applying them and they look great. With good care, they can last around 2 weeks. If you cry often or a lot, then they can come off sooner. Waxing: 3- Star The lady that did my waxing was very gentle and thorough. Soft wax can be painful, but she was speedy, gave great attention to detail, and was delicate with all my sensitive spots. Her service is 5-star worthy. The reason why I took off 2 stars was because it was pretty dirty. The waxing room bed was dirty with stains and hair. They also use an old, stained towel. But the most concerning is the double-dipping: they use the same wand over and over again in the pot instead of using a new wand to prevent contamination of skin bacteria. If they cleaned up the waxing area and used a different stick every time, it would be 5-star worthy. Location: It's nothing fancy but the staff is friendly. I will go back for lashes, hair styling, and other 5-star services, but will avoid the waxing until their hygiene and cleanliness improves. read more

Just want to mention that my review does not reflect the quality of their services; it has more to do with the customer service that I experienced. I made an appointment for a hair cut beforehand and I arrived a few minutes early (this was some months ago). Upon entering I took a seat and two other customers were already waiting. One lady in particular (not sure if she is owner or not but I think she was) approached me and asked me if I was the one with the appointment, to which I replied yes. She told me she was ready for me but at that moment, there were two other Indian ladies that started complaining that they've been waiting. The first one complained that she called the business and they informed her that they could take her in for her brow threading in 5 minutes at the time. The second one complained that she had been waiting for quite some time. I had an appointment so I understood why the employee would accept me first regardless of the facts of the other two ladies in wait. What upset me was the fact that the employee decided she would accept the two other ladies first. She accepted one of them, told the other that she only had to wait a bit more, and kept telling me to wait and wait. She would give me exact minutes of how long I had to wait and when the time surpassed, I asked her again regarding the time and then she gave me an exact number or minutes to wait again. The time surpassed another time and that made me very upset so I left. Just to be clear, I am only upset about the principal. If someone has an appointment, you honor them before the people who walked in- at least that's the way that I understand it. If I came in with an appointment, and you had to take care of the people with appointments before me and the clients that are currently being taken care of, I don't care how long the wait is- I can be very patient. This has nothing to do with the fact that I couldn't get my hair cut at the time I was promised. Anyways, I am at least going to provide two stars because I feel like the employee was just facing anxiety at the time and wasn't sure what to do next- I think she had good intentions. read more

I went for a layered haircut there yesterday. I usually go to ulta since my hairstylist moved I thought of finding another salon. I came to this place because I was in the neighborhood and they were open on sundays. Their service was okay. But I'm very upset with the haircut. My hair is curly so it was hard to tell at the salon. I came home, washed and straightened my hair and I see my hair is completely uneven and its short so theres no way to fix it. It looks like I gave a five year old a scissor to cut my hair. Both sides and bangs are completely uneven :'( What surprised me more is that they charged me $25 for this terrible haircut and shampoo was not even included. Really disappointing. read more

Bombay salon is really bad... I stop going this salon, I used to go for upper lip and eyebrows. If you ask them to use wax for upper lip surely they will burn the face . I mentioned this to staff and manager but they argue that it's not coz of waxing. First time I felt it's by mistake..!! But it repeated again and they don't care about burnt marks on face. They just ignore and argue. All they care is nice money (tips).I wish they should hire trained staff instead arguing or provide basic training..!! It's really pathetic n sad..!! I wanted to like this place as the name Bombay is a brand all over the world! I visited this place 2nd time last week with 2 of my boys and here is the summary of my experience. 3 of us needed haircuts, I was informed I had to wait as 2 customers are before me for which I had no issues. So I waited for about 45 minutes, in the meanwhile people started appearing claiming to have taken pre appointments. The 2 customers in front of me got offended and left. I still waited till my turn comes up. At this point the owner shows up and says I am next - I inform her I will send my youngest son first for which she says "oh! you are 3, you need to wait, I have to attend folks who have taken up appointments". After waiting for 45 minutes already what do you expect me to say or do - I just walked out - I ended up going to the competition about 0.5 miles away and boy - do they treat me royally! within 20 minutes I was out with haircuts for me and my boys - even though they had crowd at the other salon they managed it well. Tried this new salon in the town for my hair cut and glad I tried it. I had the best hair cut. Good thing is that, I dint have to explain too much. They understood what I wanted and made sure I got the perfect length and bangs. Both Binti and and other lady Parveen (I hope I got her name correctly) appears to be experienced in the field and they both worked together to make sure I had perfect hair cut.
