I really love this place!! I recently got a hair cut with Bernard he did an exceptional job. He really listened to what I wanted, I have long hair and like to keep the length he gave me the right cut with really nice layers. They have a special for $45 for new clients which is great for the quality of service they provide. I also got a mocha ombré/balayge with Eric he was great as well. I wanted something subtle not so drastic. Eric is really great with coloring when we were done the ombré was a little too subtle so Eric asked me to come back to add more tint. 2 days later he fixed it for no charge and left it perfect, beautiful!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place !! I have been in three times now and every time I walk out looking and feeling amazing ...Bombshell is definitely the perfect name for it. Frist, the Salon is adorable ... and the people there are fantastic. I always feel like a VIP. Plus they sever sparkling water and popcorn .. who doesnt like that ??!! Second, they know hair !! I have dark curly unruly hair and Eric Torres took to a fabulous lighter "coffee with cream" color [as he calls it] that I just love. And not to mention he gave me the best blow out I have ever received at a salon ... even better that Dry Bar !! It was the first time in the history of getting my hair cut that I didnt run home to fix or straighten the styling. Third, they use and sell PHYTO products ... which I am not sure if you know about them but they are amazing. They are all natural products that do wonders for your hair.PHYTO 9 is my al time favorite hair product. BombShell is the BOMB. Having grown up working in my father salon for years in Hollywood, I learned a lot, and it takes extreme care, passion and love to run a salon. Eric does a terrific job of that. From the moment you make your appointment to the end where your greeted good bye, you feel like a king/queen. The place is visually stunning. The care is impeccable. Friendly and sincere. Its centrally located, easy to find, and best of all, it feels as if your right at home. No one's pretensious and stuffy as are a lot of salons. Its like good ol' down to earth home cooking'. It doesn't get better. Eric and his staff make it very difficult to be satisfied elsewhere- no one else compares. As for the one negative review from a 'Jenny H' on here. The worlds greatest hairdresser can't make you beautiful. You might need to inquire about a different type service. Something I learned as a child..when I was at a flea market..I wanted to buy the Lucille Ball Babaloo 45 collection. One of the records had a scratch on it. I was a bold little child, and therefore asked the seller if he would knock off a dollar. His response was, 'Boy...is a dollar gonna make that scratch go away'? Ill never forget that. Hence...to people like Jenna H. whom want everything for nothing, and expect a hair cut to make them beautiful....You have to realize that the art of hair cutting is just that..an art...and you have to respect it for that. Every dresser has a different signature cut, style and technique. I personally think that Eric and his staff beyond exceed my every expectation. Love Love Love this salon and Eric Torres is MASTERFUL with both cut and color! If you can schedule your way in between their celebrity clientele, I guarantee that you will be treated to the A-list custom styling that every La starlet and hipster are desperate for. He gave my tired baby fine hair a fresh makeover that took 10 years off and gave me an easy to manage look that will be effortless to maintain. I have followed him from his West Hollywood location and would follow him to the end of the earth. I do not trust anyone else to do my hair and I trust his advice implicitly! I almost don't want to share this little gem for fear that everyone will come and ruin the easy going, eclectic down-to-earth, fun vibe. Lovely, lovely salon with welcoming, attentive and talented staff, and great products for sale. I found this place on Yelp, it had great reviews, so I gave it a go and I'm so glad I did The person who helped me with my booking was really helpful both in communicating with me on here and also when I called to make an appointment. When I walked in I saw a lady with a great cut and though 'I want my hair to look like that.' As luck would have it, she ended up being my hair stylist! Brigitte has all the qualities you want in a hair stylist/dresser: great hair herself, put together, thoughtful and curious during the consultation, knowledgeable about the products available and which ones would work best on my hair, personable, good with her hands (during shampoo/conditioning), and really great at what she does, i.e. cutting and styling hair. I will absolutely be back to see Brigitte and all the nice people at Bombshell. Eric is a total genius! I've been a client of his for years. I have thick, dry, curly hair that very quickly devolves into a big ball of frizz without the appropriate care, shape and product. Eric was the first stylist I've had who really knew exactly what to do with it. Not only does he make my hair manageable and show me how to maintain it, but he always makes it look incredible! Eric has been at this for years (which would be hard to guess from looking at him!). But those years account for his incredible knowledge and skill with hair. He really listens to what I'm looking for and follows through. If he doesn't think something would be a good fit for me, he always explains why. He'll ask me questions about what I want and then figure out a way to give me exactly what I'm looking for, even if I didn't necessarily know what I wanted to begin with. Before taking away any length, he always shows me what he's planning to take off. Most importantly, he never makes you feel like he's rushed. While you're in that chair, Eric's entire attention remains focused on you. I've never had that age-old problem of total miscommunication where you look in the mirror at the end, horrified at what's been done to you! To the contrary, I'm always amazed at how great my hair looks when he's done. Eric just understands aesthetics and beauty. He's a master! In addition, Eric's just got great energy. He has an incredibly deep understanding of people and human behavior so he gives the best life advice, too, if you happen to be in need of some while you're getting your hair done. Not to mention he's kind, warm and funny: he's never once laughed at the mess I've made with my hair in between appointments through sheer neglect. Rather, he'll say something lovely and then MAKE IT PERFECT! BombShell Salon is gorgeous. It has an open and airy feeling with lots of light and great colors. It's in the Edgemar Building on Main Street in Santa Monica which is a great space (not to mention there's validated parking!). They use a line of high quality products that are all natural called Phyto. I'm very fussy about the products that I use, not just because my hair is so difficult, but also because I don't like chemicals. And the Phyto products exceeded my expectations! If you're a guy, I recommend having Krishna do your hair as she has experience with cutting mens hair and because she did a great job on mine. I have NOT had good experiences here. Wouldn't even normally take the time to write a review, but am going to in this case. I was a young new client and new to Los Angeles. I did not have a ton of $ to spend on my initial appointment but was excited & wanted to work with them and get some simple services done. The owner was blatantly put out, condescending and not happy to have to spend time on me whatsoever. He was so pretentious and I felt so humiliated that I regretted ever going. And ironically, I did not even like what was done. Regardless of what line of service you're in, that's not a good approach. Never going back. And found somebody else who is great. read more

I have now had my third haircut with STEPHANIE at bombshell and could not be happier. I have very difficult hair to cut because of the texture and no matter I say to most hairdressers they all want to cut my hair and style it the way they think it should look, not what I want. I have gone to some very trendy expensive salons and had the"master stylist" and still was not happy. She is excellent at cutting hair with layers and EVERYONE I see since she started cutting my hair compliments me. She takes a lot of time and works in a precise manner. She listened to my concerns and fully explained how and what she was going to do to my hair for the desired result. She then explained in depth how to acheive the same look when I am at home. FINALLY, a cut a color that looks great! I have been all over LA looking for a salon that could make my hair look amazing. I arrived in a panic at BombShell with orange-ish blonde highlights from a downtown salon. I now have a perfect blonde color for me and the haircut I have been spent years searching for....who knew my hair could be so challenging? I've been to see Eric twice now and his men's cut is AMAZING!! The second visit prompted me to write the review because that's when I was feeling like getting more creative with my hair and Eric was the person for that. My first visit was the boring typical guy's cut (taper and short blah blah boring) and as expected Eric could of done that with his eyes closed. But his real skills came out when I told him my ideas for what I wanted next. He encouraged me to print out pictures before my visit, which I did and when I showed him he took a quick look and said, "I got it." And yes, he got it! He took his time, which I appreciated, taking my hair down and shaping it to my head. I was looking for a more model-y high end sorta taper, like skin short around the ears and then blended increasing lengths going up my head (I thought I was being creative, but apparently as I have now noticed, it's a popular haircut). Anyway the cut was awesome, it brought out my face more, the lines of my jaw - it was just cool, very very cool. I told Eric I was writing this review cause I was so pleased - he deserves it. Oh and of course it does help that he's very easy to talk too and not weird like some folks who've cut my hair in the past - he's just a cool normal guy that gives a damn good haircut.
