I found them on Groupon and was so excited to change my hair style. I bought the full highlights. I called to schedule an appointment and was able to get it the next day which was super fast. I was very excited for the change. I came in at 10 am for my appointment and was greeted by a stylist who asked me to sit tight until my stylist arrived. Cindy showed up shortly after and I showed her pictures of what I wanted. She was super nice. She started working right away. It took about 2.5 hrs for the whole process. I was very happy with the outcome until I went home and saw that my roots weren't blended properly. I called and she was able to take me in the next day to fix. Well the fixing made it worse. I have never been to station 28 but my experience with Reyna was amazing! I normally wouldn't post pics of myself with such bad roots and grey but I want you to see how good she really is. She welcomed me warmly. I sat down and she told me to relax everything was going to be great and it was! She asked me if I wanted to smell the organic essential oils that she had and which one I liked better? I said I liked these two. The mint and lavender. She proceeded prep with the oils I liked and I took a deep breath in of the essential oils. It was so relaxing. Her shampoo was amazing like a mini massage! I'll book a haircut too just to have that scalp and neck massage! We talked about my hair what I wanted. She was a great listener. She asked what had happened before to my hair. She was amazing. I like to try different places to get hair cuts. I'm not a "Only 'BLANK' can do my hair" kinda gal. I called and made an appointment and my hair stylist was Ernie. He was really sweet and quick. I felt very relaxed at this salon it was nice and quite. Ernie did a fabulous job on my damaged ugly hair. I was in and out within an hour, which for me was great. I've spent 2 hours in hair salons before-_- and i don't always leave happy. BUT i was so happy with my hair cut this time. I wasn't going to write a bad review, but after being laughed at and never apologized to by the "stylist" Masaud after he left my hair spotted and a uneven haircut I decided to try and save anyone thinking of letting him touch your hair. He talks a big talk, but doesn't have the knowledge or experience, the mistakes he made to my hair was devastating and should never have came from a professional. And he should have done anything he could to fix the problem before letting me walk out of the salon, but instead he was cruel about it. I will post photos to show what he did to my hair. I will preface this with they are nice and the deal was a good deal if they even got close to what I wanted. I asked for highlights that matched my current natural ones but with maybe some more yellow added in to be brighter. I was assigned Cindy who was nice but quiet. I asked for it to look natural and then she proceeded to give me so many highlights that on the top it looks like a single process color. She also did not get close enough to the roots so I have a Halo of roots right around my face with an overly yellow dye job. After seeing the roots up close I cried. I called to complain and they said "sometimes you can't get near the roots" yet every other time I ever got my hair done this was never the issue. She offered to fix it but I'm too scared to ruin it even more. I will probably be going somewhere else to fix it but since it now just looks like a single process dye I can do it myself. Staff was stunningly rude, basically stating they didn't do hair like mine and then proceeding to half ass the job to the point that I just left. She couldn't tell me what was in the products she was using, didn't listen to me regarding my hair cut, refused to cut my layers, and then barely blow dried my hair. Was complaining and rolling her eyes the entire time like I was the problem! She eventually just said it was better I leave because she didn't know how to do my hair and clients like me never come there. So rude. My hair is barely curled and not at all coarse or super ethnic. I go to Yasmin every month for my facials. She is such an expert and truly understands each persons individual skin care goals. She does a variety of different masks, treatments and microdermabrasion on my skin each time I visit. She uses a cherry mask on my skin at the end of each treatment that smells heavenly! The stylist here are so kind and friendly. They listen to what you want and will fix anything you may not like. I highly recommend this place. I used to go to a fancy salon in Beverly Hills and got tired of crappy customer service. I found this place through yelp and it's fantastic! This is one of the worst salons I have been to. Not only did they fail to even out both sides of my hair. The same thing happened to my friend a week later when she went in. The stylist she had would not listen to what she was telling him at the end of the appointment. He didn't cut layers. The "framing" he did around her face was completely lopsided. Note: this review is limited to their service as I left prior to any actual cut or color. The stylists here may give fabulous cuts - I lack the information to properly judge on this front. I came here on my birthday after buying an $89 Groupon for a cut, deep conditioner and full highlights. I showed up and Massoud sat me in his chair. The first thing I noticed is that he REEKED of cigarette smoke. Not just his breath but his hands. It was intolerable and 40 minutes later my hair still smells of it. Then we went over highlight colors. I choose one and he proceeds to tell me there's an upcharge of $35 for highlights that deposit color. I asked which highlights are not subject to this upcharge and he points out two pretty hideous bleach swatches. I confront him on how the Groupon says it covers full highlights and he tells me to read the contract more closely as it specifically says color highlights are excluded. I was willing to suck it up and just pay the extra $35 but then I find out the whole process would take 3 hours- and that's when I bolted for the door. I don't have much hair and I wasn't seeking anything out of the ordinary- three hours is INSANE. And in the process of cancelling my Groupon I read the fine print- no mention of the deal only applying to "bleach highlights." I get the need to make $$$, truly I do. And I hate writing bad reviews because I get that real livelihoods can be gravely affected by poor Yelp reviews, but the dishonesty of this kind of thing really bothers me. read more

I went to Station 28 Salon for my first time yesterday and had Ernie as my hair dresser. He is so kind and has such a beautiful soul. I asked him for just a trim because my ends were dry but I still wanted to keep my long hair. He did exactly that and gave me a leave in conditioner treatment which feels great. My ends are saved, I still have my long hair and it's in much better shape. The salon is cozy but modern and has a parking lot too which really helps with LA parking. Also, it didn't matter I originally came to her Imwith a Groupon (she gives good rates so it's worth getting rates directly from her), she made my hair beautiful and spent her time making it perfect and it's lasted a long time!
