This food truck sits on the corner of Market and Vineyard in Wailuku Town. There's lots of parking in the nearby structure. They make everything quickly and have a cute seating area. I wish they would make things spicier as even when we ask for HOT (Thai spicy kine hot), it's still pretty mild. Other than that, portions are great, ingredients are fresh and flavors are there!

Best Thai food truck in Maui for me. We came here before a show at Iao theater. They are located under a banyan tree at the corner and have pretty decent seating area. Met up with friends and had a quick bite to eat. They have a small menu so it's easy to choose and they're all good! My favorite is the eggplant basil with shrimps. Papaya salad is always good.

    Thai Beef Salad

Amazing flavor! Was so happy with this salad. My friend had the curry which was also delicious!

Had a nice evening planned at Iao Theater, so we went to town early and ordered dinner at HI Thai Food Truck. Parked in the Banyou Tree Park, it's one of the coolest looking vintage trucks and it looks like a permanent fixture in the park. It may be a permanent attraction here, because the food is really good. They were very pleasant and answered our questions about the menu and we ordered the Drunken Noodles with Chicken. Then came the choice of the amount of heat. We know that Thai food can be spicy enough to make you beg for a glass of milk. The cautious one of us wanted mild and the risk taker bumped it up to medium. It only took a few minutes to prepare the dish. We asked for soy sauce and got a small cup that was adequate. Chopsticks and napkins were provided, too. The park picnic tables were tipped up on end and chained to the banyon tree. That was an awkward position for us to use, so we left the park and found a bench further down the street. I was impressed that our food looked very nearly that in the picture on their menu (except that the menu pic had beef). We had a section of lemon to squeeze over the dish, too. The Drunken Noodle dish was delicious. The thick rice noodles had very good texture and flavor. The veggies were varied and plentiful. There was quite a bit of chicken that was a bit chewy but tasty. The level of heat was quite noticeable but didn't bring beads of perspiration, tears or a runny nose. I like that there was aluminum foil separating the food from the somewhat porous clamshell box. We'll be back to try other selections.

Authentic Thai food next to a Banyan Tree? Yes please. Stayed in the area during my vacation and saw this food truck on google maps. So happy I found this place because their food is so good!! Plus you can't beat the beautiful scenery. Got the thai fried rice, curry, and stirfried pork belly. Everything was delicious and so affordable! I still drool thinking about that crispy pork belly. Please support this small business, they 100% deserve it!!

We love this food truck. It's next to the big banyan tree on Main Street. There is only street parking which can be hard to find some days. When they're open they provide a few tables and chairs. The owner/cook is very friendly and helpful in what to order. They have specials most days. The portions are large and very flavorful. Everything we've had has been delicous. Our last time I ordered the Thai basil eggplant with chicken. We asked for medium spicy and it was perfect.

We found this place randomly after we did a hike at Iao Valley. This local food truck is a gem. It really gave me such an authentic Thai feel. Not only is the location so cool: the truck is surrounded by chickens and a gorgeous, old banyan tree. Quick and easy service and huge portions for the prices. Get the Thai chicken spicy basil eggplant dish. I love the symphony of flavors in this dish, ranging from the hoisin sauce to the basil.

The menu has all the familiar Thai favorites, but also dishes that are hard to come by in the States. We tried quite a few things, and everything was excellent. Our favorites were the Spicy Basil (pad krapow) and Mom's Sausage (sai oua). The pad krapow comes with ground meat, as it should, and has that savory, spicy, fragrant flavor I look for. Mom's Sausage is incredibly flavorful and definitely worth ordering. The Pad Mama is another standout. It's a simple Thai comfort dish made with instant noodles, but they do it perfectly. And don't skip the mango sticky rice! The sticky rice was warm, soft, and pillowy, and the mango was perfectly ripe. Everyone here is super friendly too. The interior is cute, creative, and full of little details that show how much thought went into the place. They even play Thai country music in the background. One tip for first-timers: when you arrive, grab a menu from the check-in spot outside the restaurant, to the left of the dining area. Then head into the dining area and they'll seat you. You order through the QR code at your table and pay + tip when you place your order. Food is served in paper takeout containers. I'd definitely come back the next time I'm in Maui!

They've done this twice and I can't even call them to ask them because their number doesn't work and there's no way of getting a hold of them. I wish their menu was more accurate or if that's the case, note that the fish could be substituted because what we ordered versus what we got, are definitely 2 different things. I know what tilapia costs versus pompano and if you're going to charge me $30 for fish, I would expect to get what I ordered. I messaged them through their social media since their phone doesn't work so hopefully they respond and do the right thing. We've been loyal customers and this isn't cool. Dinner takeouts are not cheap on island so when we splurge for the $30 fish, we hope to get just that.

Went with the quesabirria plate which came with 3 tacos & consome. Took it back to Kihei & it was still warm. The birria was very flavorful & that consome really elevated it. I guess they were out of radish that day, but it was fine as I dont eat that anyway. I didnt have to wait long for my food. It did seem a little pricey though $20 for the plate. I guess it comes out to $6/taco & $2 for the consome. Its definitely up there though for one of my favorite quesabirria tacos. Will have to come back again.

They opened a couple of months ago and have a small menu that consists of birria sliders, hermanos nachos, birria quesataco, 3 de camaron tacos, and a ribeye plate. My first in initial impression was just ok. I had been really digging shrimp tacos lately and so I went for the 3 de camaron tacos. Unfortunately I assumed it would also come with consomme, but it doesn't. That was my bad and I knew I should have asked. The tacos tasted ok though, but it was a little too spicy for my palate and I think I would have enjoyed it more with consomme. I saw them at one of the Night Markets in town a few weeks ago and decided to give them a try again. I went for the pork belly and my other half got the birria quesatacos. They were both ready pretty quickly and we dug in. My pork belly was very very tender and melt in your mouth. It seemed like it was sous vide with how soft it was. It came with a medley of tomatoes and onions and other spices and I really enjoyed it. It was a bit pricey though at $16 and one slice of pork belly. We all shared the birria quesatacos and enjoyed those as well. It's one of the better versions I've had on island with good flavor. I finally got my consomme and it made all the difference. I'm glad I gave them a second try and will hopefully see pork belly on the menu again. They are open from Monday to Friday and closed on the weekends unless you can catch them at an event!

Unfortunately, the current ownership and the state of the restaurant seems like a shell of it's Former self. Although the restaurant is clean and kind of has a busy cluttered look to it. The peanut sauce did not have distinct flavor, kind of brown paste with a slight peanut flavor. . It was rather mild. We did have the Thai soup with shrimp, which was good had an authentic flavor. The two main courses we had were just acceptable. Nothing more the pad Thai was bland no hint of chili powder eggs no bean sprouts definitely a pass. . The server that took our order didn't ask us if we wanted it spicy or bland just assumed we wanted a bland by looking at us. Although young lady, who actually put our plates on the table, was courteous. It could not overcome the blend boring dishes that were put on our table. The roast duck was really good actually. The general tsao's chicken and chicken lettuce was good, I've definitely been to other spots that were better but I don't have anything bad to say about it. What I really disliked about this place was the Seafood Bird's Nest. Initially, they thought I ordered a Seafood Delight, but my order was missing the noodles. But they basically just fried up some noodles real quick and threw it under. And that part wouldn't have been a problem for me, but it was honestly waaaay too salty (and I like really salty! so that says a lot to me) It was difficult to eat to be honest, but I of course didn't want to waste it. The seafood included 3 pieces of shrimp, about a stick of imitation crab meat, a couple small pieces of scallop, and A LOT of calamari pieces that were soooo tough to chew, we couldn't even really eat them! For the chicken lettuce, they gave us about 3 full pieces of lettuce that was cut up and then charged us $4.00 for more pieces of lettuce which is pretty pricey lol. The siu mai was mid.. but you get what you pay for. There was also a 3% additional kitchen surcharge which was weird...? Still not sure what that was for lol. And then on top of that there's another 3% charge if you use credit card, so just be aware of that. The service was fine, because there was basically no one else in the restaurant anyway. Also - my boyfriend told me they had no soap in the restroom at all which was inconvenient. Overall, the price of their food does not make sense for the level of quality. I wouldn't recommend to my peers to come here, except maybe just grab their roast duck to go.
