Yum!!!! I came in for an early dinner with Meg M the other night, and I'm so happy that we did! For starters, there is a huge parking lot and the restaurant is super clean - great first impressions! We each had tasty cocktails and ordered some appetizers - shrimp shumai and two specialty sushi rolls. The sushi was so fresh and delicious! It made me do a happy food dance. For our entrees I ordered more shrimp! I had the basil shrimp with noodles and Meg had the crispy peanut chicken with noodles. I love that you can upgrade to noodles instead of rice! The food was so good!!! The peanut sauce was to die for too. Meg tried the fried ice cream for dessert too and it looked bomb! The food and ambiance are all amazing but the staff were so nice. Taylor S and I came here the other day for as we like to call it, a 4 pm grandma dinner! We like to eat dinner early and beat a dinner rush! It's our fave! We really loved doing this because we had the place mostly to ourselves and got to ask lots of questions about their massive, and highly impressive menu! We each got a very fun cocktail, split some sushi and a shrimp appetizer than Taylor thought i would like! We loved everything! We then got entrees that fit our food preferences! I am a chicken gal and Taylor loves shrimp! Hers looked amazing, and I was obsessed with mine! Their noodles are to die for and I could literally drink their peanut sauce like a soup. It is SO tasty! I decided to get the fried ice cream for dessert, and aside from being way too full when i left, i have zero regrets! The spot is absolutely stunning. I literally gasped when i walked in. Tried out Bon Asia Bistro as we were looking for places with availability and it wasn't bad. Although it's Saturday night we were able to find a table with no issues. The restaurant itself is actually pretty beautiful. It's appropriately lit and has a large koi pond in the middle of the restaurant. We were sat next to it and enjoyed watching the fish. Our waitress came over and she was friendly and attentive as well. We ordered the tempura shrimp and for sushi rolls I had the spicy scallop, Rhode Island, and yellowtail with jalapeño. The tempura starter was okay. I thought there would be more vegetable options and the shrimp was pretty heavily coated but not bad. The yellowtail and jalapeño was good (didn't find it spicy though), Rhode Island was standard, and the scallop was by far my favorite. While it was all good I prefer my sushi to be a little cooler as well- these rolls felt room temperature. Overall it's a pretty good sushi place for Johnston but you can definitely find better in the Providence area (such as Nami). read more

The salad dressing was different from what I'm use to but it was fresh. The miso soup was good. My rice and noodles I requested without teriyaki sauce and like it without the sweet taste. The steak was very tender and the shrimp was very tasty. The chef ( Leo ) was very good at his job didn't overcook anything he was friendly and he was concerned about how all our food was cooked but I would never recommend ViVi as your waitress!!. We go here every year for my birthday as we travel home from Logees green house. It's a hike from where we live (1+hr each way) but it's worth every mile - I'll tell you that for free. I know a blue crab quesadilla sounds strange but it's probably my favorite item on the menu! The servers are kind and quite attentive so that's always nice as well. The restaurant itself is a bit dark and probably more suited to dinner rather than the lunch we do each trip but it's very cool and more importantly very clean. This has been my go to since I moved to the area. The staff is amazing, friendly, and always ready with a smile. The food is always good, and I am working my way through the extensive menu! I love to sit at the bar and have a relaxing drink, sampling the variety of well portioned selections. They do Hibachi Grill the right way, and again you won't go away hungry because of the portions! The manager/ hostess was not very friendly when we arrived. Almost bothered when we asked to do the Hibachi. With no one in line she gave us a 20 min wait so me and my 3 guests took a table. Then we decided to do the hibachi and after a huff and puff we were moved in 5 minutes. Then the waitress disappeared and that host was kind of rushing us. Her customer service was annoying. But let's get to the good.... The chef was awesome and delivered good food with great entertainment. He did however tell us that we did not order noodles and then they ended up on the bill!! Overall the food is good- a bit salty - pricey but to be expected however they do not give a shrimp appetizer with the meal! The food is really good here. I got the habachi fried rice lobster and fillet mignon, and another order of the lobster and steak combo. The filet mignon is much more tender and worth the extra money versus the regular steak, but both were really good. The gyoza was delicious and the sauce was better than average. The lemon drop martini was very bitter but strong. The service from the waiter was mediocre, but Cook was great I am definitely coming here again! The yum yum sauce was good and a bit Spicy. I went back for a second time and got the same dish but a pomegranate martini instead and that drink was strong but tasted much better than the lemon drop. This is one of my favorite sushi restaurants. While I've yet to try their hibachi experience, it's always busy and lively, with patrons having a great time. I go for the specialty sushi rolls. My preference is a roll with a warm center. Paired with the wasabi, ginger, and various sauces provided, it's always an explosion of fabulous flavors in my mouth, which is watering just thinking about them. The decor is also very nice. I went here for a birthday a few weeks ago where we sat at the hibachi tables. I have a gluten allergy and had heard that they were gluten free friendly so I was excited. I've been to hibachi before at other places, and knew they would probably have to cook my food in the back; which I'm okay with. At first, the waiter sounded very confident, and expressed that almost everything on the hibachi menu can be made gluten free. So I was excited and ordered the scallop hibachi dinner (and specifically ordered everything gluten free) which came with soup and salad. They brought out the soup with fried onions in it! Even though I specified multiple times of my gluten allergy. Luckily I noticed and I didn't eat it. They cooked my food in the back as I thought, but then the gentleman who cooked the food at our table kept trying to get me to catch food from the cooktop in my mouth. Even though I told him several times that I can't because I have an allergy, he kept saying "no it's okay". I had to finally say sternly "no, I have an allergy and that will make me sick!!" before he understood. Don't even get me started on how inappropriate he was. He kept making sexual jokes and comments the entire time he cooked at our table while doing his tricks. Completely not okay! I'm not a prude but this is a family restaurant and no one asked for that. To top it off, I couldn't even eat the scallops because they weren't cleaned properly and still had the rubbery connective tissue on it! It turned my stomach immediately and I was unable to continue eating as I also have issues with textures. This is cooking 101 when it comes to scallops and I would never expect that from a restaurant. Never again will I step foot in this place. They clearly do not take allergies seriously and didn't even try to understand. If I wasn't so diligent, I would have easily gotten incredibly sick from their lack of sensitivity for such a serious situation. read more

I had reservations for 30 people in the party room - booked two months prior and confirmed multiple times (including the day of) and they gave our tables away before our arrival time. Booked a party of 12 food was excellent service was good BUT front end manager (very militant) reprimanded us when we walked in literally yelled at us twice. Then the chef came to the grill late by 25 mins (but they were busy as it was a Saturday night so no harm at being backed up). We had a cake ready for a sweet sixteen. That manager kept coming to our table looking to pounce on us. She kept coming in and staring at us. She wanted our table but we were not even done w dinner. She yelped 'Time's up no time for cake!' If this is the owner: food is good but because of you, no one from our party ( all working adults And not shy to tell of our experience) would ever put another dollar in your pocket. She was even terrible to our wonderful server. The server was great and of course we didn't take it out on her she was worth the 20% tip. Chef was on point, food was excellent too bad that one militant woman could not had a good or neutral attitude instead she was unkind and rude. Btw I have never given a bad review on yelp.
