Heard many positive reviews, but I was left with sole disappointment. I was here on a weekday afternoon around 2PM. There were no customers other than me, but the banh mi still took 20+ minutes to come out. As for the actual sandwich, the bread is toasted but not in a good way- I could tell it was stale and they masked it by toasting it. There were also very few veggies inside and when I asked if it's possible to get more than 2 pieces of radish, the worker insisted I need to pay for it. Maybe the other dishes are better, but do not get the banh me here!
We came here for lunch and it was quite busy. The drinks came out quickly, but the food took a little longer. The banh mi bread is the best in the NOVA area. It was fresh, fluffy on the inside, and perfectly crispy on the outside. Honestly, I'd come back just for the bread alone. It was great with the banh mi chao and and bo ne.
I like this place. Bon Bon's is another entry to the growing number of cafes serving Asian focused beverages and Viet cuisine. Located a few min from the Fairfax Circle off of Rt. 50, Bon Bon's resides in a nondescript strip mall with a small-ish parking lot. I've had this place bookmarked for a while, so it was perfect for catching up with a friend who is also a connoisseur of Asian coffee and tea beverages. The interior is quaint, and definitely gives off a "coffeehouse" vibe; albeit IMHO, the counter area decor is a bit too busy with too many tchotchkes clutttered up the space. White tile flooring, with semi-uncomfortable wooden seating (suggest opting for the low tables/chairs) complete the decor. From their new menu, I got the cold coconut matcha foam latte. Orders are placed via a touchscreen tablet, which allows for customizations; My typical customizations are no ice and 35% sweetness. After about 5 min, my beverage was ready...and it was really tasty! I was instructed to give everything a good swirl, which combined allowed for the refreshing coconut juice to mix with the aromatic matcha flavor. I enjoyed the foam more than I thought, and used a spoon to scoop up any residual in the cup. My friend and I enjoyed our drinks (she got a lemon kiwi tea with popping boba pearls), while we chatted in a comfortable setting. I'm convinced if Bon Bon's was more visible from the Rt. 50 or another main road, it would be MUCH busier. I observed a few customers ordering food, which smelled amazing - so note to self to come back to try some of the savory offerings.
I came here to study and have a little lunch and the people here were so nice. The service was very quick and they were able to make a special ordered egg foam matcha, since I don't drink coffee. The matcha is strong/prominent and not bitter and the egg foam sweetens the matcha well. food review: Bo Kho The bread was amazing, so fluffy and perfectly crisp 10/10. Bo Kho was really good and flavorful too but nothing compares to my gma's.
My friends and I stopped by to try their Bo Kho, Bo Ne, and Banh Mi Chao. I've heard about their Bo Ne being good, but honestly it was pretty average. Their pate sadly isn't that great and coloring looks pretty old as well. The Bo Kho broth tasted similar to pho for some reason. I would personally come back for their baked goods only. They also recently added a self kiosk machine, so you can order on the kiosk without interacting with anyone.
This was my first visit here. We were already on a caffeine marathon, so we decided to stop here to check it out. The Cafe itself is very cute with the greenery, colorful menus, sale items, wall art, etc. Very spacious with plenty of seating, however the place was empty when we came around 1: 30pm on a Sunday. Their menu is very cute with the different images and they offer quite a selection of beverages (teas and coffees) and food items (sandwiches, platters, soups). We hesitantly ordered Bánh mì bò nướng and bac siu. The bac siu was too milky, We probably should have ordered regular Vietnamese milk coffee. Unfortunately, they did not offer non-dairy milk options. The Bánh mì bò nướng was pricey and not the best, the sauce was a bit gritty and bread was very chewy. The service was not great, she didn't seem happy or interested in helping us or explaining the different beverages to us. We were the only customers there at the time. There is parking available in front, shared by neighboring businesses. Would I return? Most likely not
Cute little locally owned Banh Mi shop that also offers a bunch of drink options like teas and smoothies. My friend and I got the Bo Ne, which is essentially a deconstructed banh mi and arguably their most popular dish. I thought the bread was good and seemed pretty fresh. The meat was nicely marinated and juicy, the eggs were perfectly cooked, and the amount of pate was generous. The only thing that didn't really make sense to me was the fries on top, but I love fries, so it didn't ruin the experience. One thing I will say is that it's pretty pricey. My friend and I got two Bo Nes and two drinks for around $60 (including tip). Considering a banh mi is usually $10-15, that felt a little crazy to me, but I guess you're paying for the experience. I also got the Red Thai Tea, which I was a bit disappointed by, but no points docked since I know I'm picky about Thai tea. Service was good.
This has been my go to Bánh mi place! The fresh bread here is amazing and I will buy half dozen of just the bread rolls each time I visit. The service is super friendly (especially the girl with the short hair) and helpful when you ask questions. The place itself is a small cute little cafe. There aren't many tables so it can be hard to dine in during busy times on weekends.
Update 6/22/25: The past few visits have unfortunately been a little disappointing. The service is still super great and friendly but the banh mi has been mid. The bread feels a little stale and overly chewy. I think they used to toast the bread as it used to be warm, but these few times haven't been the case. Hopefully it's just a one off as I really like this place :(
I came here on a day trip to Virginia and stopped here for breakfast. Around opening time on a weekday, you will have this place entirely to yourself. There is free plaza parking available and the food came out quickly. There is exclusively indoor seating with 7 tables + counter space + a large family table. Bò Né 4.5/5, this was super yummy and filling! I loved the steak and eggs, the liver (?) pâté was lovely and a nice flavor and texture difference from the other proteins. I do wish this came with a little butter to better enjoy the side baguette however. Vietnamese White Coffee 4/5, ok so I got this on recommendation when I asked what was the sweetest coffee they had. To be clear; I am not a coffee person that said; I like the try out what a restaurant is known for, in this case Vietnamese coffee. This barely tastes like coffee which is how I personally enjoy but if you want a coffee-r drink; order something else.
*3.5 Order a few things: oolong milk tea with boba, cold egg coffee, banh mi chao, and banh mi combo. The boba in the oolong milk was HARD and inedible. Our fault for ordering milk tea at a place not specialized in milk tea. Egg coffee was refreshing! The foam is so fluffy and with a nice amount of sweetness. Recommend if you haven't had egg coffee before. Banh mi chao was decent. I really l liked the pate and the baguette. They must make their baguette in house because it was FRESH. Loved their baguette. The meats in the dish I thought was okay. For the entire thing, I felt like $16 was pricey for what it is. Though I understand that the location is probably driving the price. Banh mi combo was good. The fresh baguette was again a plus. The pate on it was also generous, which I love.
A simple and cozy café with great food and drinks. Perfect for grab-and-go or relaxing with friends. Service is always wonderful!
Bon Bon is a cute shop and everything is "homemade" at the shop so you know it's fresh! Located at the old Cent Taro in fairfax. This place have lots of childhood food and snacks that you can't find at other places. I like their stir fry corn, flan and also their banh mi! ***Stir fry corn tasted great and seasoned well. Good portion. ****Flan: soft, creamy and very delicious. Always my go to dessert here! ***** Banh Mi: Their banh mi is great! Price is not too high, average price and plenty of meat for their combination banh mi. Would order this again when I crave banh mi. Owner is super nice and sweet!
It is SO good. We got the Bo Kho and Grilled Pork Banh Mi. The Banh Mi was loaded with meat and pate. While the Bo Kho was so flavorful and the meat so tender. The Bo Kho came with a fresh and warm baguette which was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. We also ordered two Vietnamese iced coffees, one with sea salt foam and one without. If you like your viet coffee creamy get the one with sea salt foam. The interior was so cute and tastefully decorated. It was super easy to order as well with a tablet at the front and the food comes up super quickly. We'll definitely be back! read more

bon bon cakery & cafe was definitely worth the visit! i ordered the bò né with a tiramisu coffee, my friend had the bánh mì chảo cá mòi, my cousin ordered the bò kho and they both got the banana coffee. everything was so delicious, and the food came out surprisingly fast. by the end of the meal, we were already talking about coming back to try more of their drinks. i'd definitely recommend checking this place out if you're looking for tasty vietnamese food and drinks! read more
Banh mi's up here are crazy expensive. Coming from Atlanta and comparing prices up here has been eye opening. So, looking for banh mi's we wanted to still look for a place where we would enjoy and also to find something that we couldn't have in Atlanta. We landed here at Bon Bon's a couple of times. The first time we came, the restaurant times said it opened at 8, but when we came at 8 AM on a weekday, lights were off and everything was locked up. Sadly, we couldn't get to try it. The second time, we came during a brunch time on a Saturday, they were open! So we finally got to try what they had to offer. We ordered the bo ne and also the banh mi chao. And honestly the bread here was by far I think the best that we've had since being here in DC. It was freshly baked and it was fluffy. With the bo ne, it was a wonderful pair where you could dip into the sauce and still have that fluffy bread soak it all up. The food did take a while to come out because they made everything fresh. They also did a lot of takeouts when we were there. I enjoyed our visit here and could see ourselves come back when we have time. read more

Another great place that opened after I moved away! WHY. It's a pretty prime location in Fairfax and you don't have to fight for parking which is always a plus. Cafe itself is spacious as well, so you won't be crammed up. Ideal for brunch/lunch/coffee dates, or school/work meetings. I think I'd really enjoyed going here for some banh mi/smaller meals, coffees, and drinks. I finally got to try Bò Né and Cà Phê Trứng! While Houston does have a good selection of Vietnamese cuisine, I have yet to see Cà Phê Trứng anywhere. The Bò Né was better than what I imagined what it'd taste like-- there's a few places in Houston that have it on their menu but I just never got around in trying it till now. It was perfectly seasoned and went so well with the bread. It was just a bit pricier than what I'd like to see. I was pretty disappointed my drink came 1/3 filled, I mean what gives? But besides the point, I think I had to concentrate to really get the "egg" taste. My friend that was with me kept asking me how am I liking the drink, and for the longest I was like "This tastes like my normal coffee...?" So yeah, not so much of a difference from my usual, but it didn't set the alarms of my taste buds off either. read more
Wanted to check out this place when I was in the area. Definitely had a locally owned vibe to it. I don't think there were more than 3 people working. I ordered the fresh squeezed lemonade which definitely wasn't freshly squeezed... I saw the employee open a sparking water and put lemon flavoring in it lol, so I wasn't a fan (especially because it was $5.50). The banh mi was good--not the best i've ever had but solid. Their Bo ne and other items are outstanding. I really enjoy their milk drinks (pandas) and coffee. I was impressed by their stir fried beef noodles. It's a mixture of fast casual and self service. But the staff have always been accommodating and helpful. I like the convenience of being a little farther from Eden center but you get the same authenticity. I would definitely be back! read more
Been looking for an actual coconut smoothie and viet coffee with toasted coconut on top and I finally found it! Venturing for this was a struggle. Downfall? It's quite a hike for me-.- I would be there everyday if they were close by. Taste? Loved the non artificial coconut smoothie. It actually tasted of real coconut! Thank goodness I'm so tired of fake tasting candle like coconut smoothies! And the coffee on top with the coconut? 10/10! The Bahn mi i got was the BBQ pork. Pricey than most banh mi places i go too, but it was good. Lacked the mayo, but I would do it again. 8/10. Wish they would open one near springfield! read more

FOOD We had their banh bi bo nuong, which was a great sandwich for the amount and cost. The vegetables were fresh and the meat was juicy and flavorful. DRINKS We had their cafe sua da and their thai tea. The staff member taking our order mentioned that their cafe makes their drinks less sweet than other places and offered additional sweetener in case we wanted it sweeter, but I found their drinks to be perfectly sweet already. The coffee, especially, is to die for, and it's something I'd definitely get again in the future! SERVICE The staff are kind and friendly! Wi-Fi is available when asking for the password at the register. A punch-in loyalty card is also available at the front. AMBIANCE The interior is neat and tidy. The tables are spacious and numerous outlets are available as well. PARKING Ample parking is available in the lot in front of the store. read more
I absolutely LOVE this cafe! Their banh mi is arguably the best one I've had in the area. Some places just don't get the bread right, but this place has perfected their baguettes. They're crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and just wraps the sandwich with love. The egg coffee is a must try as well! I recommend trying some of the foam on top alone before mixing it. Everyone that works here is super nice as well, and the restaurant and bathroom are always clean. It has typical cafe vibes - laidback, chill music, just a good vibe. They deserve so much more traffic than they're currently getting and they're the type of ma & pa shop I will always support! You can truly taste the love and effort they put into their food. read more

Quaint spot with fresh food and juices. I was obsessed with the miniatures made by the lady who took our order, I'm assuming the owner. She was kind and shared information about the delicate piece she made during 2020. I loved the Bahn Mi Pork and the berry tea. read more
Yay, I was excited for a vietnamese cafe to open up in the area! I really like how they designed the menu on the wall. Its very aesthetic! I ordered the bo ne and it was good! I do think the meat could be softer and marinated better, but it was still yummy! I was surprised by the portion, so I took the rest home cause I am light eater haha. I suggest adding maggi to the eggs and eat it with the bread! Salty and eggy goodness. I normally don't drink coffee so I went with the mango tea. This drink was really refreshing and was a good drink to pair with the bo ne. It was not too sweet and had a slight fruity taste to it. I would get this drink again. I wuld probably stop by again to try their other drinks! read more

TL;DR: new spot in FFX that is Vietnamese inspired and had unique drinks and some food options Came here with my friend mid morning on a Saturday, and there was a steady flow of people coming in and out. Their menu had a lot of options for coffee, smoothies, teas, and some snacks and real food. Service was patient when we asked questions. Drinks and food also came out fairly quickly. My friend and I just got a drink each and one pastry. ~Iced americano (5/5): Very good and strong (but I just drink black coffee) ~Egg Caffe, Hot (5/5): very interesting drink that you have to mix up. Was very tasty and actually tastes like egg (in a good way) ~Salted egg croissant (4/5): texture of the croissant was really good. Nice soft and fluffy with crispy edges. The salted egg part was very small in proportion to the croissant. The flavor is also much more mild than other salted egg pastries, so take that into account Overall, I definitely want to come back here and try their food and update my review! read more

Love this place! We initially wanted to work here, but there is no free Wifi, FYI. The customer service was great! And the wait was reasonably not long. I ordered the beef Banh Mi and the Viet coffee. Man is the sandwich stuffed! I have no complaints for this place! I've gone here two times. The second time I got the Banh Xiu Mai and it was very good! If I had all the money in the world, I would come here everyday. read more
The place is so cute! They are a cafe that also has lots of Vietnamese food options. We originally came inside for some drinks but had to try out the food too. The servers were all super kind and helpful when picking out a food menu. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. Starting off with the drinks. We added boba to our milk tea and smoothie. Usually, some boba places will skimp out on the boba but not here. They gave us heaping portions of boba and even the mango smoothie was overflowing. The mango smoothie was delicious and tasted like they blended real mangos and not artificial flavoring. The milk tea was also super good and not overly sweet. The food was equally as amazing! The banh mi breads were hot when they came out and were perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The dishes themselves were not overly salty and was hefty in portion sizes. The sunny side up eggs were perfectly runny and a great compliment to the bread. The Bo Ne was especially delicious with perfectly tender steak pieces. All in all, I will definitely come here again to try their other food items and drinks! read more

Gotta love a place that has a clear vision and does an excellent job of executing! Not sure why they call it a "cakery" but their bread is for sure the standout here. I would even double every bread offering because it's so damn warm and crispy and fluffy on the outside. Ugh! ++ Service: They did a nice job answering our questions (e.g. macchiato = foam topping while milk tea = mixed in milk) and I appreciated that the lady suggested we get another piece of bread if we were sharing the soup (...see note above re: bread) ++ Drinks: Fresh (e.g. mint on stop of strawberry tea), well-brewed and balanced, and customizable re: sugar and ice + Beef stew: Simple and comforting with plenty of thick stew to shlop up with that bread I mentioned. Will definitely be back. I want to try their entire menu! (Like, I've never seen egg COCOA on a menu before!) read more
New Vietnamese casual cafe and eatery in Fairfax! My friend and I stopped by after work for a quick dinner this past Tuesday. Fortunately, the cafe was pretty empty when we arrived and it didn't take too long to get our drinks and food. EGG COFFEE - 7 Between hot and iced, the server recommended hot so I was down to try it. The egg coffee has a thicccc layer of egg foam and some Vietnamese coffee on the bottom. I was told to stir it in an up and down motion to mix it together. Very creamy!! A bit too sweet, but it was good so I didn't mind. The coffee was strong and I loved the hints of egg yolk flavor from the foam. Expensive drink for the size, though. BANH MI CHAO - 16 This came with a baguette, two sunny side-up eggs, pate (a spread-like texture traditionally made with liver?), cha lua (Vietnamese sausage made of pork), BBQ pork, and xiu mai (Vietnamese meatball) -- all of this on a tomato/egg based sauce (I think). I enjoyed eating all of it with the baguette and the sauce was homey and flavorful. The pate was definitely my favorite part, but all the other toppings were super good, too. BO NE - 18 This came with a baguette, two sunny side-up eggs, pate, filet mignon, and fries. And a side of iceburg lettuce and tomatoes with a simple vinaigrette. The filet mignon was very tender and juicy with a light sweet flavor. The fries weren't crispy but I liked that they weren't very greasy and still seasoned well. Again, the pate in this was so good and creamy. The best part about the food here is how homey and clean it tasted. Both entrees were delicious and I'd recommend both. Been here twice already! Love their drinks, and the owner is so nice to explain the menu. I've gotten their sea salt coffee (pictures here) and the oolong milk tea. About a 1-1.5: Bon Bon's took over what was once a Chinese dessert place; we were craving for some banh mis, so we decided to give them a try. Their menu offers various beverages (coffee, macchiato, tea, and smoothies), and a food menu that includes banh mis, banh mi chaos, xoi mans, xiu mais, bo nes, ca vien combos, and bo khos. We ordered: +a Banh Mi Ga Nuong - with grilled chicken +a Banh Mi Bo Nuong - with grilled beef +a Lemongrass Orange Peach Tea Note that the banh mis automatically came with pate, so for those who don't eat pork or not a fan, be aware; I usually like pate, but Bon Bon's version was super runny and did not taste good; it didn't complement or add to the sandwich at all, and we tried scraping it off to no avail. The meats, such as the chicken and the beef, were either super dried out or had too much cartilage stuck to it. The Lemongrass Orange Peach Tea, which was stated to be on of their popular drinks, was not tasty - the tea didn't seem to have been steeped enough, and it tasted like a watered-down liquid. I needed a quick caffeine pick me up before heading into work and this place came up. I looked at a few photos and reviews and decided to try it out. The cafe upon entering is nice and bright and the perfect spot to work from home away from home. There was a display case of delicious pastries and a lovely scent of freshly ground coffee. They serve coffee, fruit drinks and a handful of Vietnamese bites. I ordered the iced cafe sua da and it had a nice layer of milk foam on top. The coffee was not overly bitter or milky, it was perfectly balanced. Next time I might ask for less ice, but overall it was delicious. The barista was very sweet and even asked if I wanted to get any food as she saw I was headed to work. She told me to come again next time when I am not heading to work. Review based on one visit for a drink only. I have been seeing their egg coffee online and was really looking forward to trying it. Their location is not the easiest to access as you can only make it there through one entrance. Their space is simple, but clean. Upon arrival, I was greeted by two fairly friendly employees. Their menu is quite extensive when it comes to food and drinks, but I just wanted to try the egg coffee. I ordered it hot and "for here". While waiting, I noticed the barista was preparing it in a to-go cup, so I pointed out to him that the order was "for here". To that, he answered in an annoyed tone "Did you want the pretty glass? That's what you should have said at the front". I'm sorry, I didn't realize that I had to specify wanting a "pretty glass" when clearly ordering "for here".
