We chose a sunset seating and the pictures are unreal. one of the most beautiful restaurant views because the water is right there- if you sit on the lower patio you might get sprayed a little! I asked for a creamy espresso martini and the bartender got it perfect- I ordered two! The other cocktails were good as well. The hot crab dip was amazing! I loved that the pumpkin pasts wasn't overwhelmingly pumpkin- it was just perfectly balanced. All of the vegetables and sauces on the Buddha's feast were delicious, but since it was just vegetables, I wish there had been more volume because event after sharing an app I was still hungry. We got the rum cake for desert, and we LOVE rum cake. However, if you had told me this was just chocolate cake, I would have believed it. It needed much more rum/syrup! Still a great meal in a fantastic setting, and we will be going back!

The food. MEH. I love carpaccio but this was underwhelming and didn't have enough acidity to balance the plate. I ordered the lobster pasta. Wow -what a disappointment. The lobster was over cooked and chewy. The sauce (bisque) was flavorless and needed salt and a bit of heavy cream badly. The pasta was way past al dente. Had to ask for bread- was told "had to see if they had enough for a side of bread." Ran out of risotto for a 730 pm reservation. Offered two specials but I had to ask the price. (Pet peeve--tell me the special price). And then the server wasn't sure and had to go ask. Go only for the location and view --not the food. The mocktails were both delicious. Points for having a mocktail list!

Fortunately for us,…read morewe got a great table in the grotto, and we were warmly welcomed individually by all of the staff. Service from top to bottom was outstanding. Attentive without being overbearing. And then there's the food and drink. First off, I love red wine and once upon a time amassed a pretty legit 800+ bottle collection. They had gems from my cellar on the list! On an island in the middle of the Caribbean! What?! I've not seen Turley on a wine list outside of the mainland in a decade, for example. And they had 4 different Turley options. Including one by the glass. Amazing. The food matched everything that preceded it; simply outstanding and captured a sublime balance of island and haute cuisine. The Lazy Lobster crawled mercilessly into our bellies, melded with plush mashed potatoes and perfectly al dente asparagus and a delicate sauce. The Lamb Shank masterpiece, served over gnocchi and the most wonderful au jus, melted over the palate, delivering a resounding umami "whoa" tingle. Both paired beautifully with our wine selections. Dessert was a rum strawberry masterpiece, complimented by one of the best espresso martinis we've ever had, and a generous pour of Angel's Envy bourbon. One of the best meals of our lives, anywhere, and we've been to some of the best restaurants on the planet. Maybe it was the sea breeze, maybe it was kismet, but regardless, we loved it start to finish and highly recommend Savant. We're no idiots!

Around the back of the restaurant is a covered outdoor courtyard with lush plants, a full bar, and lots of seating (extra points for the fans, the air circulation is phenomenal). Next the service. Impeccable. Every person that we encounter from the host, the bar tender and the waitress were so very friendly. I appreciated the recommendations that they had to offer on food and drinks (because everything looked so good). Some of the best service I've had on the island so far. Now finally, the FOOD!! You could tell it's was going to be good just from how the staff spoke about it. We had three appetizers (lobster egg rolls, ceviche, and calamari). Each were very unique and flavorful, great size for sharing, everything you hope for in good appetizers. For my entree I was torn between many different things, but with the help of staff I decided to go with the bacon wrapped double pork chop. And WOW I'm so happy I did. I always fear with pork chops of a dry, hard to chew meal but this was far from reality. The cut of meat was so juicy and easy to cut and chew. The flavor was fantastic. Cooked to perfection. For dessert I decided to go with a classic vanilla rum cake and it was perfect. I loved Savant, it was an experience from start to finish. 10000/10 recommend that you try this restaurant when on St. Croix!

We started with the grotto salad and conch two ways ! Wow we were off to a great start and the portions were perfect to share. We then literally dived into the seafood grotto. A large bowl filled with local seafood and an amazing broth to complement the variety of fish . We could not stop there as we went for the plantain foster and what a way to end a special and delicious meal. The staff were welcoming and friendly and totally on point taking great care of us! We had a chance to chat with Chef as he came out to ensure everything was up to our expectations. So nice to meet the wizard behind the menu and the kitchen. We will surely make a point of returning in the very near future. Highly recommend!

There is a beautiful outdoor dining courtyard option. Inside is open concept where you can see the chefs preparing the food! Our severe was phenomenal and knowledgeable about everything on the menu. Speedy and attentive and just so friendly. For appetizers we had the Octopus, the baked Brie, and the Conch Ceviche with fritters. Truly each of these dishes had something special about them and were all FANTASTIC! Presentation, texture, flavor all amazing. I still think about the Brie five days later writing this review. I wish I took more photos! For entree I had the steak. It was a New York Strip with house made chimichurri, and a sweet potato mash. Wow it was the best steak I've had in a long time. All the flavors on the plate complimented each other so beautifully. Again, I wish I took more pictures!! Dessert was a delight all on its own. The Crème Brûlée was smooooooth as can be. Not a single lump or bump. The plantain foster really did steal the spotlight on the dessert. It was warm and gooey and flavorful and perfect! There was some foster sauce left over that we ended up mixing with some crème brûlée and it was heaven. One of the intriguing aspects of this place was the chef was on the TV show 'Beat Bobby Flay'... iykyk. I definitely can see how he beat him. If you're on STX it's a must that you dine at 1756 Grotto! I will 100% be returning. More pictures next time ;)
