We met Taylor, the bar manager and Chef Lori's daughter, and she figured out I was the one who wrote the 3 star review. She invited us back to have the salad again and it was as awesome! UPDATE: Updating this 2018 review after receiving repeated requests from the new owner to change or alter my original feedback. I believe honesty in reviews is important, so I am leaving my overall assessment intact while clarifying a few points. To be fair, the food quality here is good, as shown by the majority of higher reviews. The burgers are large, easily half a pound, and the prices are remarkably friendly compared to the C'stad boardwalk. This is a prime location with a lot of potential. However, basic expectations were missed on service. Expecting a simple, uncooked appetizer like chips and salsa to arrive promptly shouldn't be a big ask, yet we had to request it twice. Furthermore, waiting nearly an hour for two of their namesake dinner items with very limited check ins or interaction from the staff and management is the primary reason for this lower score. Cheeseburgers is one our favorites on the island. Always great fun but trivia nights with Kyle Barth are the absolute best!!

The place has expanded beyond the bar and kitchen capacity. Location is great but on Friday we waited forever for a simple can of beer and two burgers. After almost 2-hours the burgers arrived way under cooked and were sent back. On a positive note the live music was good and our server stopped by repeatedly to keep us posted and apologize. We had a most terrible experience here in 2025. The food quality and quantity was poor not to mention the service. This place had been closed for a few years until a new management team reopened. FAST FORWARD TO 2026. Looks like ANOTHER team came in and took over as everything was improved 100%! They built a new deck, must have hired a new cook, and the bartenders in the bar were the best I've seen on island! Food was good, drinks were good, and atmosphere was good. I'm giving them four stars purely on faith. I wrote my original review in 2017, which is more than SEVEN YEARS AGO. Things change. As did the ownership of this cute little establishment. Imagine my surprise, then, when i got a message from the new owners asking that I review my review. I really can't do that, as I'm nowhere near St. Croix, nor do I have plans to be. What I CAN do is urge YELPers! to apply some common sense. My original review is ancient, so please take it with a grain or several of salt. The new owners said they're determined to provide a five-star experience, and I wish them well. I hope they're successful, but I can't vouch for any of that myself. Food is great. But they added a deck in front and it now has no handicap access. They claim they are waiting on permits. I call bs. This should have been done from the beginning. No railings. No hand railing on the stairs. No ramp for wheelchairs. They tell you you can eat in the back area where the smoking area is. That that is handicapped accessible. But it's not. It's too far to walk for those with a walker. The ground is covered in rocks so a wheelchair can't go over it. They don't really care either. read more

This place is IT. We got there after a long day at the beach and cheeseburgers literally brought us back to life. Charlotte was our server and she was THE BEST. Super witty, kind, gave us advice on what else to check out on island and made sure our food came out promptly and everything was right! The food was on another level as well. i took my mother to Cheeseburgers last night to eat and enjoy the Moko Jumbies and Purafire. The kitchen seemed overwhelmled by the turnout and so our food was very slow in arriving, but worth the wait. I had the cheeseburger and my mother had fried shrimp. Both of our meals were excellent . Our waitress, Corie, was amazing. She was cheerful, kept us updated on our order status as we waited, and checked on us often to make sure we had all we needed. We went on Bingo night on a Monday and it was quite busy, such that there were no menus available. So we had to wait for a menu to be passed around. The busy ness also meant it took a while for a server to come by. Eventually we ordered brussel sprouts & fried mozzarella for appetizers, a margarita and dry martini for our drinks. The drinks were standard, nothing special. Brussels sprouts were quite good though and chunks of mozzarella well breaded and fried were very good. We ordered smash burgers, pimpin chicken burger and a Caesar salad for all of us. Salad was just okay. The smash burgers were great though - juicy with good edges. My son loved his chicken burger and scarfed it down. We also ordered rum cake for dessert but the cake was bit on the dry side. Arriving at dusk time means you will get bit by mosquitos, so maybe better to come later in the evening. Open air vibe and nice breeze makes up for it though. It takes a while for Bingo to start and starts slow, so we had to leave after few rounds. Lot of locals come in for bingo night and stay around till the end of bingo. read more

Man o' man, what a find. I was in a bit of a time crunch, so I called in my to-go order. It was very simple and easy. I ordered the Triple da Meat Burger with a side of potato salad. I got a piece of their key like pie to top it off. My order was ready by the time I got there. The place has a huge outdoor covered dining area. There was a lot of seating available. They also have a huge private parking lot to park in. The staff there was very friendly and helpful, got me in and out. They use to have live music here. I do not know if they are still going that though. You are greeted by the aroma of fresh grilled burgers when you arrive. They have like a barbecue joint feel to the place. My burger was amazing. One of the best that I have had in a while. It was juicy and pack with flavor on top of flavor. It was huge too. Very filling. I will admit that it was a bit messy, but more than worth it. The potato salad was the same way. I had not had potato salad that tasted like that in forever. I highly recommend it. My meal was 3 for 3, because the Lime Pie was the same way, scrumptious. This restaurant is a tad off of the beaten path, but well worth the trip. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and hope to make it back there real soon. read more
