The pad Thai I had was quite delicious and yummy! No feeling of malaise afterwards! (I've had pad Thai which left me feeling meh in the stomach, and this isn't it.) The sticky rice was good and paired well with the mango, which was also good, and the mango wasn't slimy or gross. (Canned, fake, plastic-y feeling, slimy fruit-think some canned peaches out there-are the worst, and this mango is not that!) The coconut ice cream was refreshing and good. Everything was fine, kids running the cart were nice. I described it as good state fair level Thai food in smaller quantities. I don't believe most of the products were made in house. It was a little over priced for what you get and we chose not to keep leftovers in the fridge. We're making our way through all Eugene Thai food and this was one I probably won't go back to. Walked down to try Chaiyo again, midafternoon so wasn't busy and didn't have to wait. Tried the drunken noodle again, with medium spice level, and the potstickers. Food was quick and boxed up well, side note for myself that I should have had a bag to carry it back to my office, the food was hot! Anyway, potstickers were good but not the best I've ever had. Plus the sauce they came with was strange, wasn't a flavor I liked. The drunken noodles, my previous post mainly remains the same however, it was not at all spicy. I added some sriracha, I thought it almost tasted a bit sweet this time. That was unfortunate. I do like all the veggies they put in (nothing I need to remove) and the chicken is good too. Decent Thai food but nothing to write home about. Their spice level is quite heavy on the side of heat, or at least was the night we ordered. My husband's "medium" pad thai was closer to hot (American hot, not Thai hot) and my Panang curry that had no spice level indicated was the same and had me reaching for a glass of milk! This review is based on a delivery (Grubhub) but I feel Thai food in particular travels well. Since it was delivery, I also didn't have the advantage of how cheap the food is (based on other reviews) since there's a markup for the service. My one real complaint is the way the curry was packaged (see photo). From other restaurants when I order a curry, it comes with the curry in its own sealed container with the rice separately. From Chaiyo, it was put in one of those three-compartment lidded plate types of containers, so in transit, the curry went all over the rice and out into the delivery bag. read more

Had an amazing experience last year and was back for more on my yearly visit to Eugene. Location has changed, but I managed to find Chaiyo on DoorDash so of course I had to order. Found another great place to get Thai food in Eugene. The Chaiyo Thai Food Truck, currently parked in the lot of Sessions Music Hall, was easy to order with, had reasonable pricing, and delicious food. You can order online through their website using the Grubhub service. I decided to call in the order. Incredibly easy process and my food was ready within 20 minutes, which is about the length of time it takes me to get downtown. All of their dishes are $9. Which I think is a fare price, especially based on the portion sizes of the meals. The food though! I ordered the green curry with tofu and it was very yummy. But spicey! Not spicy enough to deter me from cleaning my plate though. I also order the mango with sticky rice. This was the perfect follow up to the curry as it help cool the heat. Amazing quality thai food for $8? It is such a good deal that I am honestly torn between telling people about it or keeping it my little secret. The serving sizes are large and each dish is very tasty. I love the panang curry and their basic pad thai is very delicious. The parking lot next to this food truck is very small (maybe fits 5 cars) but is easy to arrive by foot since it is in downtown Eugene. Being in a hurry, we called in our order on the way there and it took shorter than they said it would. We got the green curry with tofu. It was the perfect ratio of rice to curry. The pad thai taste pretty good. sweet but not too sweet (not like the panda express orange chicken that dipped in syrup) But I would suggest them to add a bit more bean sprout. - yellow curry: this is my favorite! Creamy sweet. If you know the diff between yellow green and red curry then you understand what I mean. They gave a lot of sauce which I appreciate So Much! You can even cook a bit more rice for the curry. - thai tea: the sweetness is a bit over. I would suggest also adjust a bit the tea & milk proportion. But in general it's acceptable and not bad. Price: super super reasonable! $9 for a pad thai. $9 for the curry. And super tasty! Another kudos for this food truck is that they are super friendly!! Ask them if you have any questions. I tried the green curry for lunch from this food truck, and it was good, but pretty spicy for a spice wimp like me. The flavor was great, and they gave the perfect amount of rice to soak up the curry, and there were lots of fresh veggies, which I really appreciated. However, if you're not good with spiciness, think twice before coming here, since it took me a while to eat it since it was so spicy. I have been here a few times now and everything I have tried I have liked. I like the ke mo, but I like it with out the baby corn. I also like the bamboo basil dish, but I want to try the yellow curry next. That looks pretty good. I still have my favorites in town that are my go to for certain Thai dishes but this truck is now making it on my list. I almost always can't pass up a Thai iced tea. It's one of my favorites! I was driving by and had a immediate want for some pad thai. Since I haven't tried this place and they had the said pad thai the decision was very simple. The location can be tricky with parking, so you may have to park on street or the parking garage across the street. I ordered my pad thai and stated that I wanted the heat to be between mild and medium because I am a weakling when it comes to the spicy. I paid and waited a short time until I had my togo box and headed back to my car. I immediately opened it and started to dig in. The taste was there, but also a level of spice that I wasn't expecting which was on the I can't go on level. One of the best food trucks from my Oregon trip. It was slightly difficult to find as it comes up fast being in the parking lot of the music hall. We actually drove past initially and had to come back up through the side streets. I could tell that the food was made fresh because we waited about 15 minutes for our food. At first I thought it was taking a while. But really waiting15 minutes isn't long for restaurant quality which is what this food was. Man, I'm too used to the fast fast world we live in! We ordered the green curry with chicken. The portion was huge! Definitely enough food for my hungry boyfriend and myself. $8....very good value. My only complaint is that there was not enough rice.
