We placed an order to go here after reading reviews. Overall we were underwhelmed. The Pad Thai was bland and barely had any tofu included. The chicken yakisoba was also bland. I will order accordingly in the future.

Quick ordering and short wait time for food. Nice staff. I ordered the Panang Curry. It was delicious! I will definitely come back. I got their Thai Iced Tea as well. Very yummy!

The pad Thai I had was quite delicious and yummy! No feeling of malaise afterwards! (I've had pad Thai which left me feeling meh in the stomach, and this isn't it.) The sticky rice was good and paired well with the mango, which was also good, and the mango wasn't slimy or gross. (Canned, fake, plastic-y feeling, slimy fruit-think some canned peaches out there-are the worst, and this mango is not that!) The coconut ice cream was refreshing and good. The Thai iced tea was good as well. This food truck has won a new fan with me! I ordered from an app, so I can't say much about service or ambiance. I'm impressed with this food truck!

We found Chaiyo on Yelp. Delicious food prepared with care. Portions are ginormous! Service was fast, friendly and efficient.

    Drunken noodle, chicken, medium spice

Walked down to try Chaiyo again, midafternoon so wasn't busy and didn't have to wait. Tried the drunken noodle again, with medium spice level, and the potstickers. Food was quick and boxed up well, side note for myself that I should have had a bag to carry it back to my office, the food was hot! Anyway, potstickers were good but not the best I've ever had. Plus the sauce they came with was strange, wasn't a flavor I liked. The drunken noodles, my previous post mainly remains the same however, it was not at all spicy. I added some sriracha, I thought it almost tasted a bit sweet this time. That was unfortunate. I do like all the veggies they put in (nothing I need to remove) and the chicken is good too. Its decent, I would choose Chaiyo over the other Thai food truck around the corner.

Decent Thai food but nothing to write home about. Their spice level is quite heavy on the side of heat, or at least was the night we ordered. My husband's "medium" pad thai was closer to hot (American hot, not Thai hot) and my Panang curry that had no spice level indicated was the same and had me reaching for a glass of milk! This review is based on a delivery (Grubhub) but I feel Thai food in particular travels well. Since it was delivery, I also didn't have the advantage of how cheap the food is (based on other reviews) since there's a markup for the service. My one real complaint is the way the curry was packaged (see photo). From other restaurants when I order a curry, it comes with the curry in its own sealed container with the rice separately. From Chaiyo, it was put in one of those three-compartment lidded plate types of containers, so in transit, the curry went all over the rice and out into the delivery bag.

You can smell the delicious aromas coming from this truck before you see it! I visited Chaiyo around 5pm before the dinner rush. The service was pleasant and fast and the area clean. I enjoyed the Chicken Pad Thai ($8) and the spring rolls ($4) and would highly recommend both. My food was cooked perfectly and the presentation was nice.

Found another great place to get Thai food in Eugene. The Chaiyo Thai Food Truck, currently parked in the lot of Sessions Music Hall, was easy to order with, had reasonable pricing, and delicious food. You can order online through their website using the Grubhub service. I decided to call in the order. Incredibly easy process and my food was ready within 20 minutes, which is about the length of time it takes me to get downtown. All of their dishes are $9. Which I think is a fare price, especially based on the portion sizes of the meals. The food though! I ordered the green curry with tofu and it was very yummy. But spicey! Not spicy enough to deter me from cleaning my plate though. I also order the mango with sticky rice. This was the perfect follow up to the curry as it help cool the heat. Highly recommend Chaiyo.

The two working were both very kind and helpful. I know nothing, literally nothing, about Filipino food. So I asked if any of it had seafood in it, as I don't eat seafood. The answer was no, so I just picked one of the four options, and pointed to the picture. I always feel like an idiot when I have to point at something to order it, but the woman taking my order reached out the window to point at the same one so we were on the same page. She was very accommodating to me and I appreciate that. I'm still not entirely sure what I ate, but it was delicious. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Prices were pretty decent too. I am full and still get to take some home to my husband. Ambiance is a food truck pod on River Road that I'd never been to before. It is bigger than I expected, with several other nearby trucks that I want to try. Would I return? Yes! Definitely yes. This friend has never steered me wrong when it comes to finding amazing small local business to support, and this is a great one. I'll definitely come back again. Review 32 of 2025.

It's a fairly plain looking truck and the options were straight forward. I got the brisket mac and cheese. The gentleman running the place was the only one working it so we were prepared to have a bit of a wait, it cannot be easy to run a whole kitchen all by yourself. He was very friendly and helpful. We didn't have to wait nearly as long as you would think, definitely quicker than a sit down restaurant. Thankful that he wrapped my meal in foil within the recyclable cardboard container so I didn't have to worry about leakage or the thing falling apart. I loved this. The mac was creamy and flavorful, the brisket was melt in your mouth and so good. I also appreciated that he didn't drown the whole thing in BBQ sauce (too many supposedly good BBQ places do). Couple things that count against this place - price can be a bit high for people but you really get two meals for it. A somewhat unclear operating schedule. And for the mac, I thought, at first, it would have been nice to have the brisket broken up into the mac. But considering how easily it comes apart, it isn't a huge deal. Try this place!

Had been wanting to try Thai Chin Gon (located in the pod in front of Eugene Electric Bicycles) and they are on my way home. A few other people were waiting ahead of me and got their food in good time. Service was friendly and quick. I chose yellow curry with chicken and it arrived in less than 10 minutes. Customers are given a buzzer to notify when the order is ready. There is ample seating available directly in front of the trucks or a few steps away in a covered area that is nicely done. I brought my order home to eat and it was a generous portion that made for two meals. Excellent yellow curry served very hot and delicious. Good amount of chicken ratio to veggies. I ordered a container of Tom Kha Gai (Chicken Coconut Curry Soup), and they made it fresh right there. Came with a nice portion of Jasmin Rice also. Got home and put it in the fridge for later. Around dinnertime, I heated it up slowly in a pan... and nuked the rice after adding a little bit of water to it. The soup was very good (no heat at all, as I did not ask for it.. but the proprietor did ask if I needed chili oil. But I have Nam Prik Pao at home - Thai chili oil - I used a teaspoon of the Nam Prik Pao to add a nice level of spice to the soup.) Nice sweet sour flavor in the coconut milk both, decent amount of chicken, onion, etc. Rice was good also. I suspect he may have used a pre-made curry paste for the soup broth, as there was no galangal or lemongrass in the soup, although the flavor was there. Still good! I would definitely order it again. And I look forward to trying some of the other dishes here.
