Out of towner hunting the local favorite and this was top of the list. It's on a Lafayette food tour and had a nicely designed interior with a rustic feel. The wait staff recommended the Crawfish pot pie, a unique dish to the area. I am a fan of crawfish, so I could not pass this opportunity up. Crust was crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. I have lived in Lafayette for 30 years and this is one of my favorite places to eat. My favorites are the Shrimp and grits, it has the best sauce. Also the Boudin Plate, my brother who still lives way up north had it and says "now i get Boudin", and another appatizer I like is the frog legs good sized well cooked and the gravy is amazing. read more

Came in with a party of 6... Could only accommodate us at bar table because of the way the tables were seated on the floor (there were only 3 seated but were staggered so that tables could not be put together for a larger party). Bartender waited on us which resulted in poor service because he was busy serving drinks & waiting on customers at the counter. Ordered steak medium rare, it was served seared & cold in the middle. Ended up asking the hostess for ketchup, dressing, etc. Suggestion: if you seat a larger party at a bar table, assign a server, not the bartender who was very nice & tried but was far too busy. Was there for dinner Thursday and can't wait to go back. We had crab cakes, shrimp and grits and frog leg appetizers. We couldn't get pass the appetizers since we ordered so many but it was so good. All I can say is Wow! From the moment we stepped inside the door to when we left our experience was nothing short than phenomenal! We found this place using trip advisor, its a smaller bar & grill but the atmosphere was family friendly, waiter was very knowledgeable about the food and made some great recommendations. Ordered frog legs for the app, and our waiter brought extra garlic bread...i could have licked the plate clean of the sauce if I knew no one would see me. Main meal he ordered mahi mahi and cheesy grits...tasted like mash potatoes, loved it since im not a fan of grits and I had the fish tacos...so delicious i couldnt stop licking my fingers! I enjoyed the waiter and the owner was so friendly and gave us tips on other local restaurants to try out. Definitely make it a point to stop and eat here! read more

Nothing fancy about the looks of the place but......... Great food and excellent service. Starting off with the sausage and boudin board (which is a meal all by itself!) we had the daily special and crawfish pot pie with the cranberry pecan cake for dessert. Incredible Cajun Restaurant! Charming decor, impeccable service and scrumptious food! We stopped for lunch on a road trip from FL to Dallas, a little off the beaten path from I-10 on some challenging roads - but worth every inch. Based on previous reviews we ordered the crab cake appetizer - huge, full of crab and creamy!?! Yum! My husband and I both had the crawfish etouffee pot pie. When it came out I thought we'd made a mistake by not sharing it, but it looks bigger than it is due to the incredibly flaky crust. My husband almost licked the bowl clean! I finished all but the 1 inch crust around the edge of the bowl (crust is only on top, not under so it was not a heavy dish at all). At the end of our meal the manager even came over to say hello, make sure everything was satisfactory - and gave us a card for a free appetizer on our next visit! We'd go back in a heartbeat - highly recommend it! read more

Great service and great food. My husband and I were traveling through on our way to Tampa and decided to give it a try. Everything was fantastic. I had the apple and Tasso stuffed pork. It was so tender and slightly spicy and very moist and delicious. My husband had the grilled sirloin Caesar salad and it was great also. We were really disappointed. The stuffed fish was really bland and the stuffing was mushy bread. The oyster Poboy was dry with rubbery bacon. For the price we could have had much better food in Lafayette. read more

One star was earned for the clean, casual surroundings and prompt service. Downhill from there with the shrimp remoulade appetizer. As soon as it was set down the stench of spoiled shrimp came wafting through the scant brown mustard "remoulade" sauce. Any server or chef should have smelled that before serving. A closer look showed translucent, mushy rotten smelling--probably imported and frozen- shrimp. I called the waiter back and asked him to smell it, which he did and apologized, saying he would speak with the chef. He returned to the customer area but never returned to the table. There were only about 6 customers there on a Friday lunch. I got up and told him we were leaving, cancel the rest of the order. When we got outside, the manager caught up to us saying he hoped we would come back and give them a second chance. Not on my life! read more

Blackened Thai Chicken Lettuce wraps were delicious and are a MUST-order! It's an appetizer here, but plenty for a full meal and is what I enjoyed for dinner. I wanted to get a real Cajun experience and I was not disappointed. Actually I was blown away by the excellent service and mouth pleasing food. I started with the sausage and boudin roll appetizer which was amazing. I then ordered the crawfish pot pie--the crust was thin and melted in your mouth and the filling was spicy but not too spicy for my northerner mouth. It came with some grilled zucchini with mozzarella melted on top. Included was some garlic bread that was very good. I saw another customer that ordered the steak and it looked very good, but I was there for Cajun soul food.The service was super friendly. I have been a Lafayette resident my whole life and I've never experienced a restaurant that serves true down home South Louisiana Cajun food like Bon Temps Grill. If you're new to south Louisiana or just visiting and you want to get a taste of the culture, this should definitely be a stop on your list. Grab an appetizer and start with the crab cake. You're not going to get a crab cake that's mostly filler or have you on a scavenger hunt for crab. The second you bite into it you know that is the homemade crab cakes loaded with crabmeat and cajun seasoning. For dinner I would suggest the Crawfish Pot Pie and then finish it off with their homemade banana fosters bread pudding for dessert. The New York Times name this bread pudding one of the top 50 foods you must eat before you die, so it's definitely worth a try. Aside from the food the service and management is top-notch. 90% of the serving staff was born and raised in south Louisiana and it's very well-versed in the culture and the area. You must ask for Lauren, Kira, or Amanda and you are guaranteed a great experience!!! read more
