Honey chicken sandwich. Which I think is their original.

The chicken sandwich was amazing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is really cute and the owners are actually there running the place![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We will be back

Stopped by for a quick lunch and i wanted something good so I decided to try this place out for the first time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Inside was clean and had a good bit of room with dine in tables.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was friendly and helped with the questions i had about what i should get. I decided on the Mac, a regular fried chicken sandwich with a secret sauce. The chicken sandwich was HUGE i had to split with a friend. It was fried perfectly and was nice and crispy i really enjoyed my meal and the fries were perfect i just wish the sandwich had a little bit more spice but ill try the hot chicken sandwich next time for that extra spice

It was my first time going to Bonafried brick & mortar. I'm familiar with them from their food truck. I typically will catch them most times during Mardi Gras. The menu at the restaurant is primarily the same as a truck. I had the hot chicken sandwich with garlic chili oil. It definitely had ticked to it, I couldn't really taste the garlic tho. Still was pretty good. The fries just was a little salty for my likings. Customer service is always good! They even featured a lent seafood platter.

This place is definitely bonafide , the Service is exceptional and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the environment is so inviting and warm[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] the food omg , let start the sweet tea omg can we say just right let get into it the chicken sandwich -Hot. : spicy garlic chili oil it just the right about of heat and crunch and the chicken is so juicy and tender to die for I would recommend this place and apparently their social media let you know when they're having new food items it a must stop in Nola if you'rein city park area .

    Mack
    iscah s.

Only tried the Mack sandwich so far, and although it's not advertised as spicy, it definitely has about as much kick as a spicy deluxe from Chick Fil A. I'd say the chicken breading here is more refined tasting - you can taste the intricate flavoring, plus it's crunchier. The chicken breast itself is hefty and tender. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Cozy diner atmosphere inside, although I ordered Togo.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Service was quick and polite. Price point, you are paying almost $15 for a single sandwich (no sides included) so that's a bit high.. But it's fresh, it's local and it tastes better than the fast food alternative, so it's a trade off...less calories consumed for a better tasting sandwich!

I went in on a Saturday night before their official big big opening and they are SO GREAT. I had their food in food truck form but this was just as affordable and tasty. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The former laundromat location is really cute, there is a good selection of types of chicken sandwiches on the menu[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. I had the Southern - seasoned honey drizzle style. My husband had (and loved) the Hot - spicy garlic chili oil. Both very good, arrived to the table with crispy hand cut style fries, all piping hot. The owner came around and checked on us and generally was a delight to chat with. I am so excited for them to get lots of Jazz Fest foot traffic and attention.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Loved coming in and sitting at the stool at the counter for lunch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The sandwich is a BIG portion of chicken and so tasty! I got the Special and it was perfectly sweet and spicy. Food was hot and fresh. The staff were all very friendly and attentive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were laughing and talking all through lunch![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]From the little handmade pickles hanging from the window to the restored original tiles from the old laundromat, every detail is special.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This place feels like a warm slice of community that fills your heart and your belly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Best ever. After 65 years, I've had the best fried chicken sandwich of my life. On the street, sitting at the curb, around the back of the racetrack/ fairgrounds after a day of Jazz Fest. Incredibly delicious.

    Life changing chicken sandwich!

Guys, it was THE BEST CHICKEN SANDWICH I'D EVER HAD. It was lava hot, juicy, and greasy. It was also absolutely delicious. I was concerned that the thigh meat was going to taste different. But I could not tell. The fries were crinkle cut, but were seasoned well. Didn't even need ketchup for them. The place is very clean and they had 80s music playing in the background, my favorite decade of music. Not surprising, being an 80s kid. The damage all told, including a tip, was $25. Is it expensive? Yes. Is the quality and quantity of the food commensurate to the price? Also yes. Is it worth the hype? ABSOLUTELY YES. I was also informed there's a Hammond location. I will definitely bring my family there, as it's closer, to try them out as well.

If you get discouraged you cannot find a good parking spot. I believe you may park on back street? Do not hold me to that. Worst case, you can always get your order to go. It was our first time. We were curious about and not many restaurants offer fresh made pork cracklings. Usually you have to buy it at a local market or know someone. The staff is very friendly and helpful. They briefly went over a few recommendations. We started with of course, order of adobo fresh pork cracklings. Adobo or traditional** crispy pork belly, adobo sauce, topped with garlic peanut rub Southerns Queso burger - 6 oz. beef patty*, pickled jalapeño, queso, beer battered onion ring with order of fries. Tender meal - Choose your spice level. 3 jumbo chicken tenders, fries, and tender sauce. (Mild) Southerns Original Chicken Sandwich - Choose your spice level. Boneless chicken thigh, Yuzu aioli, slaw, housemade pickle. (Mild) I was curious about the Phuket Sauce. So I got an order too. This tastes great! Not spicy at all. Do not let the pepper fool you. It has a little kick but not spicy at all. All are well seasoned. Few of them you can choose your spice level. We all washed down with fountain drinks. They do offer catering services and possibly call ahead ordering. Please reach out to them for options. If you are in the mood for something different but great food. Give them a try if in the area.

Look no further, friend. Right off the bat, after arriving on a Friday around 4:45 PM we were seated promptly, given water and the tastiest little sweet yeast rolls ever (the tops actually crackled when you squish them you guys), and made our bevvie choices. Tonic with lime for me (I'm behaving rn) and an Old Fashioned for wifey. Killer. We skipped the appetizer course and ended up ordering off the specials menu for both meals. I can't rave enough about this place, and I wish it wasn't so dang far from Texas, but hey, it's just another in a list of damn fine reasons to come visit the fine folks of NoLa again.

Though pop-up showers were still lingering, my husband and I decided to take a gamble on courtyard dining--and I am so glad we did! Sheltered under the green umbrellas surrounded by historic brick walls, lush greenery, and rain-kissed citrus trees, the atmosphere was incredibly romantic and peaceful. The courtyard's intimate layout even brought a bit of extra magic to our evening. We sat near another wonderful couple (and their adorable daughter) and became fast friends, sharing laughs and conversation throughout the night. What truly anchored the experience, though, was the incredible service. The staff was remarkably personable, helpful, and welcoming. The dinner itself was excellent from start to finish, showcasing immense culinary skill across every dish. We started with the delicious brussels sprouts and a uniquely seasoned spring/summer gumbo that was unlike any version we've had before (oh, what I would give for the recipe). As for the entrées, the shrimp and grits were phenomenal, and the blackened catfish sandwich with a fresh salad was executed flawlessly...and the bread pudding was fantastic, too! It is rare to find an experience where top-tier hospitality, a breathtaking environment, and great food come together so (seemingly) effortlessly. Café Amélie is an absolute must-visit! The host was extremely welcoming and friendly. Our server and helpers were over quickly to drop off waters and greet us. I ended up ordered the salmon. With it being so early and only one or 2 other tables besides my friend and me, the food did take longer to come out than I expected it to. Both of us did thoroughly enjoy what we got. The salmon was crispy on the outside with a nice sauce over it. We thought we'd have time to get dessert so we ordered a couple but that too took a very long time. We finally waved down our server to cancel and get the check since we had to be somewhere and he apologized and said their WiFi was going in and out so it could be that it was registering on the kitchen side. That may have explained why our entrees took too long. If it wasn't for the service and the food being great - I would not be thrilled about timing. We got there around 5:30p and had to leave by 7:15p so an almost 2 hours experience that probably could have been 1 hour.

To make matters worse, there was open bench seating in the back where customers ordering to-go could sit. I offered to order food to-go so we could at least sit down and get started while waiting, and she told me if I did that they would remove our name from the waitlist because "you have to pick one or the other."
