This was my first time actually eating on the strip. Not sure why I was surprised the food was so good. Our waitress explained the menu thoroughly and made some amazing recommendations. there was a line starting to form when we entered and sat down . Flavorful was an understatement. The drinks were the food was ,

Olde Nola Cookery offers excellent fried seafood and New Orleans staples right on Bourbon St. My group of 5, shared the seafood platter and Taste of New Orleans sampler. The seafood platter includes jumbo gulf shrimp, oysters, a catfish fillet, french fries and hush puppies. The fry batter was well seasoned and gave everything a perfect crunch. I didn't even need a dipping sauce. The crawfish etoufette deserves a special shout out for being a flavor festival in every bite. I've already planned to stop again before I leave :)

Do not eat here....unless you want to be on the toilet and have bad gas! Honestly one of the most disappointing meals I've had in New Orleans. We ordered the redfish special and the fish was extremely overcooked and dry. The rice was dry too, and the fried crawfish on top was just okay. We also got the alligator tails half fried and half blackened. The fried pieces tasted burnt, and the blackened pieces were chewy and hard to enjoy. Then we ordered the "Taste of New Orleans." After eating it, I was sick all night with stomach issues. The etouffee was watery and lacked flavor, the gumbo was overly thick and mushy, and the roll that came with it was stale and dry. The only decent thing was the red beans and rice. Based on my experience, I genuinely do not understand the high ratings. The food quality did not match the reviews at all. Unfortunately, I would not come back or recommend this place. Staff was nice

Olde Nola wins for the best red beans and rice that I had on my trip to Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. Located in the French Quarter, this restaurant had great service and a fun vibe. Sophie was the sweetest server! Attentive and adorable, she made the evening. Here are the dishes we tried: Fried alligator bites: yummy -- like chicken, but more greasy. Sampler Platter of crawfish, étouffée gumbo, jambalaya, and red beans and rice. My favorite was the red beans and rice, though all were tasty. Sophie made me a dang strong Hurricane. Whoa, Nellie! Olde Nola Cookery was a fun introduction for our evening in the French Quarter.

The very first stop I made when I last went to New Orleans was at Olde NOLA Cookery, and it set the tone for an amazing trip! This place is awesome! Located in the heart of bourbon street, this is a New Orleans as it gets! The service is friendly, the vibes are on point & the food rocks! A Po'Boy in NOLA is a must, and Olde NOLA is a great spot to get one! The French bread has the crispy outside and fluffy interior you're looking for; the shrimp & crawfish are so fresh & seasoned wonderfully; & the rest of the accompaniments top it off to make this an incredible sandwich that you won't be able to forget! I'm a big fan of gator and their blackened gator tail bites have the right amount of spice & seasoning & are cooked perfectly! You need to make this a stop any time you're in New Orleans!

After having a false start trying to get waited on at a nearby restaurant, the Yelp review brought us here. We sat at the empty bar for a late Saturday lunch and had a sweet, attentive waitress see after us. Saving ourselves for a daiquiri later, we passed on beverages and settled for the barbecue shrimp appetizer and the blackened fish entree. Everything was perfectly prepared. The shrimp was served with a plain mass produced roll, which made it easy to pass up - a slice of toasted French bread would have been an upgrade. But the shrimp was great, the redfish moist, and the greens were tasty. So much for eating light - we needed to have bread pudding before leaving NOLA and this was a good choice. Loved the rich rum sauce. Smallish place, by comparison, friendly staff. Good choice!

The food was good. The service took a very long time though. We ordered Daniel's po boy -which was flavorful, the shrimp was really good, and there was a decent amount of shrimp. The fries were very crispy and delicious. Not very seasoned but still tasted great. The alligator bites were also crispy. The Mardi Gras pasta had good flavor, the portion size was decent and filling for the average person. The Egg plant was very seasoned, has a little kick to it. As someone who doesn't like spicy I thought it was really good though. We came around 9:30 and the service was very nice and friendly but it took about an hour for us to get our food. The restaurant is a bit small and the tables are pretty close to each other. There's also only 1 restroom (for men and women)

We had a reservation on New Year's Day (which was HUGE), and I'm so glad we did because the place was absolutely packed! Even with a full house, the service felt like we were the only table in the restaurant. That level of attention on such a busy day really stood out. Our server made fantastic recommendations. I added extra crawfish to my étouffée, and I'm so glad I did -- it was rich, flavorful, and loaded with that authentic New Orleans taste. My wife ordered the Mardi Gras Pasta and loved it. It had a great balance of flavor and was packed with plenty of seafood. Overall, it was a great experience and an even better meal. If you're in New Orleans and looking for quality food with top-notch service. This is the spot for you and your group of friends!

Small venue....ordered some pecan pie. Did not stay long enough for a beverage. In the heart of Bourbon Street.

Dined in on a Wednesday night walking in with a party of 8 people. Food was delicious. THE RESTAURANT GAVE NEW ORLEANS VIBE. Right on Bourbon street, food has FLAVOR and the ambiance was good. Too many of us to remember what we ordered but I got the blackened Alfredo and it was good, a little too much lemon for me tho. My cousin still ate it all This the type of place where you don't get refills on your coke cola tho lol

Definitely will come back. Loved the gumbo and crab cakes. Yummy food, . The flavors of the dish were truly exceptional and thoughtfully combined. Presentation was also a highlight, making each plate a work of art. Service was attentive and friendly, enhancing the overall dining experience. I would certainly recommend this establishment to others seeking a delightful meal. It was a pleasure to dine here.

If you're coming to NOLA, come hungry. This city is a culinary playground, and Olde Nola Cookery is a must-visit. I was lucky enough to get a recommendation from a former local who treats this as his 'home base' whenever he's back in town. Every bite was a winner--it was easily the highlight of a trip filled with amazing meals. Gumbo - 4s Shrimp ETOUFFE - 3.5s Red Beans and Rice - 5 s Fish and Shrimp Platter - 4s Return Factor: 80%

One of the very few spots open on Christmas Eve, and we're so glad we chose this place! With so many restaurants closed, they were smart enough to stay open and feed hungry folks like my hubby and me The atmosphere was welcoming, the waiters were incredibly kind, and we were accommodated super fast -- which was much appreciated on a holiday night. The crab cakes were hands down our favorite Absolute must-order. We also paid the extra $5 to add crawfish, and trust me... totally worth it. Don't skip that upgrade! We also tried the trio plate with jambalaya, gumbo, and red beans & rice with sausage. Everything was solid and a great way to sample a little of everything. The only miss for me was the red beans & rice -- not bad, just my least favorite of the three. Overall, a great Christmas Eve find with good food, friendly service, and the perfect solution when everything else was closed. Definitely worth a try if you're in the area!

When you walk in you're greeted and told to get a menu and place your order at the counter. They will bring your food to your table. You pick any available table. That seems to be a thing in NOLA. The place plays contemporary jazz in the background so nice ambiance. They also have TV screens playing sports. I ordered the fried chicken, cabbage and jambalaya. Everything is WELL seasoned! I love seasoned food but this was too much for me. If it was a bit less seasoned I would have enjoyed it more. My wife got the shrimp platter with corn and mac & cheese. She felt her food was good and seasoned well. She wants to go back for lunch. To be fair I'm not a soul food person. It's not my first choice of food since I ate a lot of this food at church.

It was one of the most yummiest mac n cheese, I've tried. We also had the greens that were also yummy but a little salty for my taste, still I would return just to eat those. The corn bread was amazing, I was so happy with the texture, as it was not dry. My husband highly enjoyed the mashed sweet potato, they were his favorite as he enjoys sweets. The fried chicken left me wanting more, however, the ribs were not my favorite although they were tender, and had a good tangy flavor. I should have taken a picture of our plates because there was no leftovers. We had lemonade and the sweetest of teas. Honestly I highly enjoyed our meals The service was amazing, and super friendly. I also took an amazing peach bread pudding to go. The restaurant was golden and welcoming, they even asked if we wanted our table candle lit. Thank you to the ladies at Susie's. It was great.
