When your customer asks to confirm your order, start making excuses for why it hasn't come out yet (even if you don't think it sounds like an excuse, to the customer, it always will) 4. When the customer decides to cancel the order, say that there are still "only" a couple of orders ahead of yours and don't apologize For a place that is known for their chicken, tonight was a GREAT disappointment. I've heard such good things about Bonchon so I figured it was about time I try it for myself. I must say, this chicken was DELICIOUS. The soy garlic sauce is just perfection. My boyfriend and I got a medium combo of strips and wings with a side of House fried rice. We definitely had some leftovers since the strips and the rice portion were huge. No complaints there! Also, the pickled radishes and cole slaw were good too. The only thing I would ask is why they only have two sauce options. After many subsequent trips to Bonchon in Allston, I'm bumping my past rating up to 4 stars. This place consistently delivers top-notch Korean fried chicken (best in the area, in my book), and the spicy and soy garlic flavors are both equally awesome. Go for the bone-in variety (I'm a fan of the drumstick / wing combo), which in my opinion is more juicy and flavorful than the boneless option. I've tried some of their other appetizers over the years, and while they are always "good," it is clearly, unquestionably the fried chicken that you come here for. Bon appetit! read more

I heard the hype about this place so decided to order some takeout on a Sunday afternoon. Get there and order a bunch of wings in person, host says it'll be about 15-20 minutes. We sit at the bar to wait. After 30 minutes we're noticing a lot of takeout orders coming before ours from people who ordered behind us. Okayyy....wait 15 more minutes and finally ask where our food was, they said 5 minutes. Waited ANOTHER 10 minutes and had to ask again where the food was. Finally it comes out, cold. Used to love their chicken but it was definitely dry and too salty when we ordered a couple weeks ago. They also need to work out their online ordering system. We ordered the house fried rice and selected plain for no protein and DID NOT select the option to remove all the vegetables but still received just a plain box of rice for $13. Also ordered the combo 15 wings plus 8 drums and was missing 2 drums and 3 wings. Called and they said the manager would call me back about a refund but got no call back. Visited the sister in Boston. We ordered the half and half (sweet and spicy) and an order or dokkbokki and a beer. I wanted to get all spicy wings but my sister warned me not to and I'm so glad she did. We had the sweet wings first and they were so good! The spicy ones were quite spicy!! We got our dokkbokki after and they were even spicier!! The waitress forgot my beer and I had to ask her. She had that "oh yeah I forgot" look on her face but didn't say sorry or give me a discount. My favorite place to get korean chicken wings. I have eaten here so many times and each time i was impressed. I love their kimchi jigae and boodae jigae. Their bulldak is awesome, extremely spicy but also very delicious. Free water and good service. It gets very crowded at night. Each dish is well presented and taste is flavorful. Honestly really torn while writing this review. First of all, the food is pretty yummy~ i honestly like the one from NY better because the portions are bigger, but still good! But I didn't have an enjoyable experience because of the takeout I just got. I ordered a pancake, spicy pork, spicy japchae, and medium chicken combo; plenty of things went wrong with the order: 1) Spicy japchae was forgotten :( 2) I ordered the medium chicken combo, half soy garlic half spicy, that supposedly comes with 10 wings and 5 drumsticks. Everything was soy garlic, so I didn't get any spicy ones. Also, if you look at the picture, we only got 7 pieces of chicken...and there definitely wasn't 5 drumsticks in there. 3) I called Bonchon and talked to the supervisor, who actually was very polite about it and told me to call mix menu to get a refund because they couldn't find my order (which is weird)? Mix menu agreed to give me a refund for the spicy japchae, but that's it. So I paid $102 for the three (incomplete) dishes in the picture, paid tax and delivery fee, and tip that was tbh WAY overpriced. So overall, not satisfied with this experience at all. Definitely would not have paid $102 for three incomplete dishes and service. Kimchi and/or Seafood Pancake Both are good! There's not a lot of batter, which I love~ Spicy Pork & Kimchi Probably my favorite dish here! Satisfies all cravings! Spicy Japchae You get to choose your protein, so I choose beef, which was yummy! As a die-hard fan of fried chicken, there's no word that could describe how excited I am when I found this gem near my apartment. I come from Vietnam, and there are tons of Korean fried chicken restaurants, but I'd say Bonchon's chicken is on par with the top places I've tried in my hometown. The wings are meaty, juicy, and I especially love the crunchy, crispy skin! Soy garlic flavor is tasty - not too sweet, just the right thing. Their kimchi bacon fried rice is delicious too! I've only get delivery, first through Foodler and now through their text to order service (which is new, fast and efficient!). The food always arrive hot and crispy, never soggy. I'm not a fan of spicy food, so I haven't tried the hot sauce yet. The price is reasonable - especially when you get the lunch special. I got a combo today with a side of French fries for $8.95, a great deal for yummy chicken and for keeping you full all day (: Also, get their fries if you're a fan of fries. You won't regret it. Chicken is always good here. I prefer their chicken over other Korean chicken places and over the other bonchon locations. This is the only one with the crispy salmon salad which is so delicious. It is an avocado and cucumber ball with bits of tempura flakes inside, topped with a layer of seared salmon. Definitely worth it to try. Wait times are sometimes long on busier days but the staff does their best to facilitate the process and I think it's understandable for that area.
