It was a little bit of a walk from the nearest metro. If it wasn't chilly out I wouldn't have minded at all. Looks like there was plenty of street parking nearby and may have been a parking lot in back if you're willing to come by car. Our server was very nice and attentive. The portion you get for the price was pretty reasonable too. My boyfriend and I had a hard time finishing a large order and we both can typically eat a lot so kudos for hearty portions. As others have mentioned the kimchee coleslaw and radish sides were refreshing. The two flavor choices of soy garlic and spicy weren't overwhelming which would be better for indecisive people like me who would always take forever to make a decision if there were too many options. First couple of wings and drumsticks were tasty but then it sort of got old. Essentially it felt like fancier General Tso's or orange chicken. The Potstickers are juicy and mouthwatering when brushed with Bonchon's signature soy garlic sauce. The Jap Chae's flavor varies on occasion. Sometimes it's flavorful and sometimes so bland, I've wondered if I could ask for their signature soy garlic sauce to add an oomph! So bad!!! I was visiting the Annandele Bonchon many times. But this Arlington Bonchon is horrible. The size doesn't meet with the price.

To be honest, I've ordered delivery more often than actually sitting in the restaurant, but the fact that they deliver alone makes me so happy. I used to have to go all the way to Fairfax for BonChon, meaning I'd only go once in a blue moon. Now that it's located 10 minutes from me, I'm much more inclined to eat from there. The physical location is a little small, so if you don't make a reservation during dinner time, you'll have to wait about 20 minutes. However, it's a really nice jazzed up atmosphere. It is hands down the best fried chicken I've ever tasted. I don't know what kind of chickens they use, because their drumsticks are gigantic in comparison to say Popeyes. It's great for groups when all you need to do is get a gigantic order of chicken for the table. Besides the chicken, their zucchini fries are great. Their pork buns are good too, though I wasn't expecting the display (I was expecting a bun stuffed with meat, it's more of a deconstructed pork bun that's fancy looking). I know it's a chain, but lots of times locations will have something going for it - bigger wings, special items on the menu, etc. In that regard, I don't think the Arlington location has anything standout about it. It's the standardized Korean Fried Chicken you'd expect, with the chicken albeit on the smaller side. I will say though that table service was pretty abysmal. Came with a party of 4, and it took forever to get our order in, receive our food, and to receive the check after asking for it. I get it's a weekday lunch so you're not really going to have primed service, but there were blatant times I saw staff members just chatting to themselves at the bar while I'm trying to wave someone down. It probably didn't help that we switched servers halfway through and didn't receive a notice. Unless I'm in the area and super dying for KFC, I don't think I'd come back. There's better options in DC or I can even get Bonchon delivered to my place. read more

Date of Visit: Many I've eaten here via delivery/takeout/dine-in 4/5 times over the past year, and have yet to be disappointed. I've always gotten the half & half (soy garlic & hot) strips, even though the drumsticks/wings are usually the go-to for most. The strips have all of the flavor, and a lot more white meat (in my opinion). The zucchini fries are outstanding, the pork buns are "meh", and the kimchi coleslaw is a great twist on an old favorite. I saw a couple of co-workers eating Bonchon earlier this week and it smelled amazing. I decided to give it a try and have eaten there twice this week. Atmosphere- clean, casual with a bar and plenty of seating. I went there about 30 mins before closing on a Wednesday and it was very chill. Parking was a little tight and I had to circle the block a couple times before finding a spot. Staff- friendly, and knowledgeable. Despite coming right before closing, they were willing to seat me and I didn't feel rushed or uncomfortable. I sat near the bar area and my server was the bartender. I didn't catch his name but he was super cute and provided great service. Food- OK, let me start by saying I am a chicken wing connoisseur and the crispy skin at bonchon is absolutely delicious. The soy garlic sauce did not disappoint. HOWEVER, the size of their wings was a huge turn off. THEY. ARE. MASSIVE. I'd really love to know where their chicken is sourced because these have clearly been given some sort of steroids. I couldn't finish them all in one sitting, but when I took them home I noticed that all but two of my wings was cooked all the way through. The largest two were still pink in the middle. I re-heated them in my Nu-Wave oven, which maintained that crispy skin. The seasoned fries are not remarkable. They are regular fries with grated Parmesan and parsley for garnish. I enjoyed the spicy mayo (which tastes like sriracha mayo). I placed a to-go order today with my co-workers to see if the super-sized wings were just a terrible accident, unfortunately our 30 piece was filled with unusually large wings. I am a huge fan of Korean fried chicken and beer, or Chimaek, which is super popular in Korea among other places, so I am glad I have a place I can count on within walking distance from my house. It's a pretty large space inside, good for large groups who just want to sit around and share delicious fried chicken (and maybe suffer a little in the process from how spicy it is). Even though this place is Americanized, the spicy flavor of chicken is actually "Korean-spicy" instead of "American-spicy". Which means you should be able to take a good amount of heat if you don't want to be crying for water mid-meal. Our group ended up getting a large order of boneless chicken first and then a large order of regular bone-in wings. We got the first order with half classic soy sauce and half spicy. The spicy was the better flavor overall because it wasn't as sweet, but you have to be able to handle the heat. I definitely liked the bone-in wings more because they were just more crispy and more "real". The large comes with 20 wings and they were actually a pretty big size for each piece. Each platter also came with pickled daikon, which helped with the spice. We also ordered some of the tteokbokki, the spicy rice cakes, which actually had fish cakes and cheese on them. They were pretty delicious, also mad spicy, and pretty filling. Most of my group was struggling with the spicy chicken, so they could not handle the tteokbokki that well, but it was good. I also recommend ordering a beer with your fried chicken because it's a damn good combo. Sapporo is my favorite, and they offered it there on tap. This is one of the best Bonchon locations in NoVa, in my opinion. Beautiful interior design, exceptional service and consistently delicious food. When you enter inside the restaurant, you'll notice the modern sophisticated ambience of the place. Lots of seating throughout--bar, dining area, and outdoor seating. Majority of the time we've come to this location, it hasn't gotten too busy that we ever had to wait long for a table. Service is phenomenal--friendly, courteous, and attentive. They do a good job of checking in every once in a while to make sure we had what we needed. Food is also delicious! We ordered the soy garlic wings, seasoned fries, and siomai. Wings are nice and crispy, covered in the sweet/salty soy garlic sauce. We got the kimchi coleslaw as the complimentary side, which is a little cool but spicy. I think it pairs well with the wings. We got the siomai for my toddler and he absolutely loved it because he finished the whole plate (comes with 8 pieces). The seasoned fries are nicely fried and are dusted with parmesan cheese and I wanna say some parsley flakes, too. It also comes with 2 dipping sauces: ketchup and spicy mayo. For families with young children, they have highchairs and a car seat cradle for infants. In the women's restroom, there are 2 stalls and the larger stall had a changing table. My one and only gripe about the place is that their floors are slippery. Like it's covered in some greasy residue (which is weird because I've noticed this at other Bonchon locations, too). Great chicken!! I've ordered takeout a few times and it's consistently yummy! First, I recommend getting the pork buns (they're wonderfully soft and tender, but not very spicy). Second, I always get the chicken strips which are my favorite!! I like the spicy and garlic flavors (the sweet crunch flavor wasn't very flavorful). But, be warned!! The spicy chicken does pack a kick! Everything always is delivered speedy and packed well. I really commend them for having the chicken separated, so that the flavors don't mix too much. I live out of town but my sister recommended this place staying that it was pretty good and it was super late at night and they were open. If you enjoy the pure honey flavoring then you will enjoy this, but for us it was too sweet and it tasted too much like honey for our liking. Service was great until I tried returning some chicken...... I ordered a 15 pc mixed chicken and a 10piece. After seeing the amount of chicken I asked the manager if I could return one the answer was no, which was upsetting but I understand that..... On top of that one wing had a strand of hair in it. I understand not returning chicken if I was unaware of the portion sizes but nothing being done about the hair is quite grotesque and to switch from saying don't touch the plate it is on, to I can't see it, to oh well it's probably just a brush bristle is wild and unacceptable. I've been going to this particular Bonchon for almost two years. Majority of the time I get it to go and it's delicious. However, the last few visits have been a huge disappointment. The strips have consistently gotten smaller. They are half the size they use to be. This wouldn't be that bad if they tasted the same. Not only are they a little larger than a half dollar now, they have been extremely overcooked. To the point where they're hard to bite into. Definitely not the Bonchon I remember. It should be noted, the staff are always very nice. But that's not enough to keep me as a customer. Unfortunately I won't be returning to this location. read more
