Boyfriend and his friend (both black, both speak English with an accent) went to grab a bite tonight, driving from our apartment in Crown Heights just to go there; we had gone to a location and he had loved the bonchon chicken. He is on the phone with me while they enter and his friend says he has to pee and my boyfriend will get in line (of 2 people) to order. The gentleman at the counter freaks out and says he has to order to use the bathroom. My boyfriend steps up and says he's going to but his friend needs to use the restroom. The gentleman was very aggressive verbally with them, they feel it is a case of bias and decide that they don't want to give this business their money based on how they have been treated. While their are having this 90 second conversation the worker says that they are trespassing and says he will call the cops and does. They wait for over an hour in their car out front: the officer just tells them they can go. In short, the service and food at this location has always been worse than other bonchon locations but this takes the cake. In short, don't bother and know you might get treated like crap if you're a person of color or speak a language other than English. read more

This review is for lunch hour take out The front is understaffed during the lunch rush with only one person taking orders, answering the phone, and distributing orders. The kitchen staff also missed my order. I get it, it happens, but I've flagged down 5 different employees who all claimed to have gone back to check on my order. I ended up waiting 45 minutes for my food. Advice: Avoid coming during the lunch rush if you don't want to risk missing meetings because of inattentive staff. Customers are forced to actively ask about their orders before the cashier turns around to check if their order is there. read more

Food is great but service is the worst. I came with a friend here and ordered dinner at around 6 pm. Place was almost empty (2-3 groups inside). I got the food in around 20 minutes. (I ordered drinks, appetisers and main course). 20 minute after our food delivery, the waitress started hounding us every 2-3 mins. Asking if we were done or if she can get us something else or bring the cheque. We were out by 7 pm as I couldn't have stayed there longer without creating a scene. They need to teach some manners to their staff since they are clearly lacking in this department. read more

I invited a friend for lunch after this place was recommended. The place was empty and the waitress rushed us to order. After the 3rd time requesting our order, I asked her if the bibimbob was in a hot bowl skillet with an egg on top and not in a regular bowl like in the photo. She nodded her head and said it was hot. I encouraged my friend to try the bibimbob, I ordered the wings half spicy half soy garlic and the seasoned fries. He ordered a lemonade and they brought over lemonade in a can. The french fries was great, the bibimbob was served in a bowl not a hot skillet, the rice was cold and served with a chopped boiled egg and the wings, was wings. Very good Korean fried chicken and pretty reasonable pricing. It looks like a decently nice place to sit and eat, but I've never actually done that. Both times I've eaten their food I ordered from Doordash which seems to be the only way you can order from them online. Very speedy delivery and food arrived hot. read more

Korean Fried Chicken! Tried half/half, Spicy and Soy Chicken. Both were good in there own flavored way. Went back for the Pork Buns, was not a huge fan of it. Lot of more fat than meat on the pork. My first experience with Bon Chon is the on located at 329 5th Avenue. My experiences there are simply amazing the wings are always outstanding fresh, flavorful and a nice size. Always served piping hot. Which made me a instant loyal fan. So much that to travel from Brooklyn to Manhattan wasn't a chore but part of the experience to pure wing HEAVEN. This location although its all shiny and new lacks in a few key things: 1. Hands down the quality of the wings they serve is vastly different from the 5th Ave location. The wings are noticeably smaller and of a lesser quality. 2. The way the food is prepared needs improvement. The Soy Garlic wings I ordered tasted like wings that were fried and then refried. So yes they tasted old and stale. As well as being served at room temperature.The soy garlic that I associate with Bon Chon was definitely missing.There was definitely no wow factor . 3.The friendly welcoming warm customer service that one receives at the 5th ave location was not present here. The staff is a lil stiff and jaded. No one even came to the table after the food was served to see if everything was ok. I went on a Tuesday night that way it wouldn't be crowded and the staff would be on point. However it seems like no matter when I went it wouldn't have made a difference in the long run. Stopped by one day last week while keeping my sis company at the hair salon. Bon Chon in the city has always been one of my favorite places to go for wings. The flavors were perfect but it took a little longer than normal to get my order, also got fries and pork buns.... I would skip the fries next time. As for the pork buns the flavor was delicious, but the texture seemed all wrong, and there was a lot of fat on the pork pieces in the bun, not very enjoyable. The woman behind the counter was helpful and very nice. Waiting until they get their liquor license to go back so I can have to whole experience. very happy that they are in Brooklyn!!! read more

everything was so good! couldn't decide what to order from the menu because it was a huge selection. got the mango iced tea and it was so good. The food took a long time to come out possibly about 20 to 30 minutes wait but when it came out the french fries were extra crispy and good. I got the chicken combo with sweet crunch and soy garlic flavor it came with a side either coleslaw or white radish. very chill spot with a nice sports bar and lots of seating. come here if you want to catch up with some friends because this place takes their time and you can slowly enjoy the food as well. I've probably been asked to make a Yelp account since asking was invented. My love for BonChon and the shock from not seeing a single restaurant have a 4+ rating inspired me to share(first and last). I have eaten many times at the Manhattan locations and a few times at the Bk one. While the Bk one does lack alcoholic beverages, the food has been nothing short of delicious, similar to the Manhattan locations. This is not your average Chinese joint you got on the corner in Bk, it might take a little longer and cost a little more, but it's worth it and you truly get what you pay for. Furthermore, I've never had problem with their customer service, I order, I eat, I leave. If anything, they actually always provide service like I'm a renowned food critic, water/napkin/making sure food is good(with or w/out a group of people). It's truly good food and a good atmosphere. If you want food that's fast, get fast food, but don't lie to yourself and say you enjoy it more than this or that it's healthy for you, I am also not gonna sit here and claim BonChon is super healthy, but I'm sure it is healthier than your average Chinese or fast food joint. Of course, if your palate is accustomed to fast food, to each his own, but don't knock a place because they took a little more time to put more care in your food. With that being said, I was not paid for this review nor am I in anyway affiliated with BonChon(BonChon lmk though, I'm open for a marketing position with an average salary and free food). I just really think this place deserves more credit, they are a unique wing spot with only a few locations around, if anything, we are lucky to be able to eat here. Appreciate you BonChon! P.S. This place really knows how to do fried chicken. We ordered their signature flavor for the chicken wings, soy garlic and spicy soy garlic as well as Parmesan fries, kimchi fried rice, beef tacos. Very disappointed of this Bonchon. Went with coworkers to have lunch here. When we entered, all 4 staffs up front did not acknowledge us. We had to find someone to get us a table, we were rushed to order.... Tall asian male waiter was very rude to us the whole time. When we were finished ordering, he asked us to hand him back the menus instead of collecting from us.....They immediately collected the plates and bowls from us, even asked my coworker who was still eating at the moment...(got asked twice to collect her bowl which was still full of food....) what kind of service is this???!! Rushed us out.... Food was not good, very small, very little meat, chicken doesn't taste like the other Bonchon.... TL;DR: Food and service sucks. Do not go, waste of time and money. It's good food so I chose to wait. I wanted a drink from the bar and was ignored even after the bar tender checked on the party sitting next to me. There were 2 tables a mixed asian and white party on who was checked on twice since I sat at the bar. My coworkers and I came for lunch. We got there right when it opened at 11:30, so we didn't have to wait for a table, but the place was pretty much packed when we left - around 12:15. They have a lunch special, which is a pretty good deal. We got two orders of the wing and drum combo with half and half sauce, the tteokbokki, and the seasoned fries. The chicken is always made to order, so it was really juicy and fresh. The tteokbokki was good and the kimari on top was delicious, but I felt like the sauce was missing something (im not sure what though). The seasoned fries were perfectly seasoned, but I don't think it was worth the $5. read more
