There's fried chicken and then there's Korean fried chicken. Popeyes and Jollibee aside, the Korean fried chicken industry makes love to their chickens. At this joint, the wings used are nice and fat and not skinny, the buns are better than cbao or Bao buns, and as a side note, if you have a chase card, you probably can get a 10% cash back every now and then! Taste: 5/5 Service: N/A did pick up Ambience: N/A did pick up but it looks not bad inside Value for money: 4/5 We had: 1) Fried chicken (of course): spicy and soy I.e half and half, soy is your classic and you can't go wrong 2) Pork buns: these were phenomenal 3) Takoyaki: they taste as they sound, octopus in fried dough 4) fries: great! 5) coleslaw: as expected

I love Bonchon. I had first come across their business on TikTok and shared a video of really crunchy chicken with a few friends. We ended up getting the food soon after and it lived up to the hype and then more. Although the yangnyeom flavor is no longer available, which was a great hit at the time, the Korean bbq is a next favorite. Soy garlic is still very good, but the Korean bbq in my opinion is better. Fries are pretty good as well and friends have enjoyed the tofu and katsu as well. They always have great service, and are very timely. This location only offers in-store pickup and delivery, the one in bayside offers car side service which is a great help. Also, the Brooklyn location has Shirley temples although it's unavailable to order online. Automatically extra points on my end! The location itself seems fairly nice for a quick bite in a convenient area near the train. Long bar with a lot of drinks available!

Bonchon is one of the few places in the area open on Christmas Day and thus our regular spot for lunch on that day. The seasoned fries are particularly good and I love their takoyaki. The services was fast & friendly.

This is a nice change of pace to eat here for lunch though with some caveats. You will need to order in advance if you have a tight schedule. It takes approximately 25-30 min to make the fried chicken since they do so many orders so I would suggest calling it in advance or ordering via app. Despite the long wait time- it was obvious that they made all the orders as they came in and ensured the food was fresh. Inside is nice to also sit for lunch but they also had seating for people waiting for to go orders. Lunch special prices were reasonable and so was the amount of food and the taste. The wings were crunchy and the drumsticks ginormous and tasty. Spicy flavor was good but not like Thai level of spicy- so moderate. I would come again.

Bonchon is on my favorite restaurants but i was disappointed this time. I used go for wings but i decided to get the boneless chicken for lunch with fries and my friend got boneless half and half with white rice. I feel like it was dry and the wings taste so much better. We didn't finish our meal but the fries were good.

Generally, I love chicken wings, but I REALLY love Bonchon chicken wings, . Order me the soy garlic with house fried rice and and I'll tell you all my secrets,LOL. I tried the pork buns, just to switch it up...very tasty! Sad to see they are only open for takeout orders due to that ratchet chick Covid, this location has a really nice vibe with the dine in option.

Absolutely mouthwatering fried chicken. We had the classic plain and the soy sauce, spicy chicken.

I was always so hesitant to come here because the ratings, but everyone kept raving how good it is and they don't lie! Got the 8 piece combo- half half with pickled radish When I say the chicken was CRISPY and JUICY, it was! I'm still dreaming about them. So flavorful too! I prefer the soy garlic over the hot (and I like spicy)... the hot was more of like a Tabasco spicy just a kick and not a flavorful spice if that makes sense. So filling for 8 wings only! The fries were so good too! So flavorful and crispy! The lychee tea was so good and not artificial. But why the 4 stars? It's the service man... took 5 mins to be acknowledged and seated. When there was just a waiter standing at the end of the bar doing nothing and made eye contact with us. That waitress then sat us and was so cold and didn't smile at all and barely said anything. Didn't check on us once or fill our water. We had to ask for the check from a diff waitress and when they grabbed the check when we left they didn't say thank you or anything. - restroom for customers only - takes card - has a lunch menu with some cheaper items - bar inside

Wings are great just wish they added more sauce like other Bonchon locations. All aspects of the wing should be covered with sauce.

Anyway, I was at this pretty long running Thai restaurant a while ago with two others for an early dinner. We sat outside as the weather was very nice and the inside was a bit too cold for one of the other people which was fine as they have a very nice outdoor space. As it was early, they still had happy hour and I ordered a Lychee Mojito which I think it was $8 or $9 instead of $12 or $14 or so. I don't mind at all that it was a tad boozy and there were a handful of lychees in there. This was nice. Speaking of nice, the best thing here were the appetizers. We had some type of fried dumpling to begin with though I'm honestly not sure which one as none of them really match the description and we definitely did not have the Andaman one as it contains pork and one of the other people doesn't eat it. Whatever it was, the dumpling was actually excellent being very well fried but not oily with a nice tasty center that had some basil or some other type of herb for an extra bonus. The dish had a slightly sour sweet sauce below which was fine of course. Whatever dish whatever it was, I would recommend it. There was also the pretty tasty Isan Papaya Salad (or rather Somtum for $13.95) consisting of green papaya, string bean, peanut, cherry tomatoes, and a cherry lime dressing. There was plenty of papaya for crunch and there was a bit of heat to it though less some than many other places. It tasted fresh overall with the lettuce absorbing a lot of the extra sauce. It is good but it's hard to order it here when it's literally a block away from one of the best papaya salads in the city at Zabb PuTawn's BK location. My main dish was pretty regrettably the Pad Kra Prow listed as your choice of meat stir fried with onion, garlic, bell pepper and basil in spicy basil sauce. I chose chicken (or in other words pad krapow gai) which was one of the cheap options at $18.95 and ordered it spicy and the dish arrived and tasted very differently than what I expected and not in a good way. Usually, chicken or whatever meat it is in this dish is chopped into small pieces to absorb the sauce and the dish has good kick to it making it one of my favorite Thai dishes as I like a lot of heat. The meat arrived instead in pieces which is fine as some other spots do this and as there was plenty of them but they were pretty tasteless and lacked texture with some of them being a bit gummy. There was also a brown sauce on the bottom which had a hint of holy basil but not really enough which didn't help the bad chicken. I don't mind Americanized Thai food as long as it tastes good but the main dish was atrocious and there's several places nearby which make versions which can run circles around it. I wouldn't recommend it at all. Outside of that awful dish, I tried the Chicken Pad Kee Mao/drunken noodles which was the same price which was definitely better which didn't really take much. There was plenty of meat again but the wok hei lacked with the noodles but at least it was decently spicy. The last person I believe got a fish which was fine. In a sea of Thai spots littered around Cobble Hill, this definitely falls under the "Could've Been Better" of the bunch though honestly if it wasn't for the dumplings, I might be giving this place a 1. Stick with the appetizers.

Taylor's Tayke: Cafe Chili offers a fun introduction to Thai…read moreflavors through both its afternoon tea experience and its full dinner menu. What stood out most was the variety. From savory bites and traditional Thai dishes to tea service and desserts, there was plenty to explore throughout the visit. The afternoon tea service in particular offered a unique way to experience the menu beyond a traditional meal. My Taysty Tayke: Get Down & Dirty, Expeditiously: Fish in the Boat One of the most memorable dishes from the visit. Fresh salmon paired with bright flavors and a subtle kick of spice. It almost gave salmon salad vibes while still feeling distinctly Thai. Egg Tart Soft, creamy, and incredibly smooth. The texture was outstanding and easily one of the strongest items from the afternoon tea selection. Crying Tiger Skewer Tender, juicy, flavorful, and everything you'd want from grilled beef. Simple execution done extremely well. Hot Chai Tea Excellent on its own, but the addition of cinnamon elevated it even further by adding warmth and complexity to every sip. Shrimp Bite Loved the texture here. Fresh shrimp with a bright lime flavor and none of the chewiness that can sometimes hold shrimp dishes back. Duck Salad Fresh, juicy, and tender with great balance throughout. Macaron with Grape The grape added a fruity sweetness that complemented the macaron nicely without overpowering it. Pork Pastry Flaky, savory, and satisfying. Dumpling Solid texture and flavor throughout. Curry Puff Enjoyable curry flavor but could have used a little more punch. Thai Wings Well executed with good flavor throughout. Rice Ball Sweet, sticky, and compact. A nice contrast to some of the savory items. Chicken & Shrimp Fried Dumplings Enjoyable but didn't stand out as much as some of the stronger offerings. The Experience: The afternoon tea service was a pleasant surprise and offered a creative way to sample multiple flavors in one sitting. Pairing that with the dinner menu gave a well-rounded look at what Cafe Chili has to offer. Best For: Afternoon tea, casual lunches, catching up with friends, introducing someone to Thai cuisine, or exploring a variety of flavors in one visit. In Conclusion: Cafe Chili shines when it leans into dishes that balance freshness, texture, and bold flavor. The Fish in the Boat, Egg Tart, Crying Tiger Skewer, and Duck Salad were the standouts for me, while the afternoon tea experience adds a unique element you don't often find at Thai restaurants. If you're looking for variety and a mix of savory and sweet offerings, Cafe Chili is worth a visit. Stamped by Elajas

Maison Sun is an intimate dining space where guests are seated around a stainless-steel counter with an open-kitchen concept. They offer a Vietnamese fusion tasting menu for $185. I appreciate the growing recognition of Vietnamese cuisine and its elevation into the fine dining space. Unfortunately, this meal didn't quite hit the mark for me. Many of the flavor combinations felt disjointed and often clashed rather than complemented one another. Shrimp Mochi: It was good. Duck Egg Custard with Caviar: Delicious! It was creamy and well-balanced. Bread with Sea Urchin Butter: The butter was unique and tasted amazing. I could probably eat a whole stick of it. Foie Gras Katsu with Passion Fruit Candy: The foie gras itself was great, but the passion fruit candy felt awkward and out of place. NZ Hiramasa with Wood Ear Mushrooms: The wood ear mushrooms overpowered the fish, which was unfortunate because the hiramasa itself was quite good. I loved the lemongrass sauce. The lemongrass flavor was very subtle. Dry-Aged Moulard Duck with Black Rice and Makrut Leaf Curry: This was the standout dish of the night. The duck was deeply flavorful, and the curry paired beautifully with it. Tiger Prawn Phở: Very mushroom-forward in flavor. It was decent, but not particularly memorable. Secret Flavour Ice Cream: Fish sauce ice cream sounds unusual, but it was unique and surprisingly good. Opal Basil and Chrysanthemum Tea Infusion Sorbet: Refreshing and light--a nice way to end the meal. There's clear creativity and intention behind the menu, but the dishes lacked the harmony needed to make the experience truly memorable.
