Came here for lunch and was absolutely blown away by the flavors and quality of the food. The menu had a fantastic variety of Thai dishes, and I couldn't resist trying a few different ones. The Tom Yum soup was delicious , bursting with the perfect balance of spicy and sour flavors. The Pad Thai was hands down the best I've ever had - the noodles were perfectly cooked and the sauce was incredibly flavorful. But what truly stood out was their Pad See Ew. If a restaurant is good, it should be consistently good at any time of the day. Ordered from the Street Over Rice category. Selected the quartered chicken with rice and tamarind sauce. As I unpacked it, I thought I was in for a treat. Upon poking around, there were 3 tiny chicken pieces and not a full half as described on the website. One piece was the wing which has no meat to it. This place is a newcomer to the rather big Thai food scene in the area (case in point the much larger Thai place across the street.) The place here by comparison is much tinier and they specialize more in street food. I went here have a pretty cheap lunch special and I ordered the Kao Gai Ka Tiam / . This comes with sliced chicken in garlic sauce over jasmine rice with a fried egg and sriracha for added flavor. The chicken portion for the special was generous and the rest of this was good also with the sriracha adding some pleasant spiciness once added. The lunch special also came with two other things; a choice of soup or salad and an appetizer. The soup was the common cabbage soup you find in a lot of little stalls which makes perfect sense judging by their other food. In terms of appetizers, I was choosing between the fried chives or the tofu pocket and the friendly cashier recommended the former. The deep fried Chinese chives or kui chai/ is something not common enough in most Thai places and it has a wonderful chewy texture and I'm happy they have it here. It was served with the usual soy dipping sauce which compliments it. If this place was older and more well known, I'd probably give it a low-mid 4 for the good lunch deal and friendly people but at they are new and they definitely deserve business, I'll bump it up. Stopped in yesterday for lunch, because I wanted to take advantage of their lunch special and eat outside. The place is teeny. A few tables inside and a couple right outside on the sidewalk. You prepay at the counter and the nice lady brings your packaged food (plastic takeout containers w/ plastic utensils- the only negative) to you. They have a few noodle/rice options as well as some rice over protein options. Each special comes with soup or salad ( soup is a light veggie/seaweed +savory clear broth) and choice of chive pancake, 2 spring rolls or a mysterious tofu puff thing. The food was prepared quickly and I was surprised by the HUGE amount you get for the price. I was very happy with my basil chicken special and even had leftovers to take home. Really disappointed. I've made much better pad thai at home than what we got. The dumplings were fine though the meat was not the texture I like. They delivered the wrong salad (which was really wet). But the worst part was the chicken satay, a real staple for a thai menu. Lunch special at Huge Thai = excellent food for the price & portion size. This week I tried the Thai green curry lunch special with jasmine rice. I was impressed by both the quality and flavor. The only thing I can say (just so you're aware) is that it was very hot and spicy - just like the food I had in Thailand. Green curry is usually a hot curry - more so than the red version. When I want something milder, I usually go with a massaman curry. But I really wanted a super hot curry sauce and this green curry delivered. Despite the name, I'm convinced this place isn't just Thai, but also some sort of Asian fusion. I will do absolutely no research to back up this assertion, however. I will say that the Kao Nar Moo Dang Moo Krob (rolls right off the tongue) was like a combination of Chinese, Thai, and Filipino dishes. You had Chinese char-siu style pork, crispy fatty pork similar to Filipino lechon, with sausage, a hard boiled egg, and seasoned rice. It was like a tour of Asia! Plus amazing portion sizes. Really enjoyed my food from here! Ordered pickup and it was ready really quickly. I got the chicken Thai fried rice (extra spicy), huge Shumai and fish cakes. The star of the meal was the fish cakes. Pros are that the lunch special here is a great deal. You get a lot of options for an entree along with a side and soup or salad for around $15. The service is also pretty fast so you don't have to wait long if you're on the go! Food is pretty average. There are better Thai places in the neighborhood, but this isn't bad. The only Thai place I order from for takeout in my neighborhood. I've never dined in however so this review is for takeout. Simply amazing. Portions are generous. Food is flavorful. We always get a pad see yew, green curry, or one of the over rice dishes. The apps are great too - papaya salad, curry puffs, and chive pancakes are my go to's. I finally tried this new-ish little Thai place about a month and a half ago, and I think I've ordered from them another 4 or 5 times. The items I've tried so far that I've all enjoyed have been the Por Pia Tod (crispy veggie rolls w/plum sauce), the Pad Kee Mao (similar to a Pad See Ew but w/a spicy kick, I think from the fresh Szechuan peppercorns, and the aromatic flavor of Thai basil), the chive pancakes (not like typical flat ones), Keaw Waan Curry (Thai basil green curry), Kao Ka Praow Moo Krob (crispy pork belly w/a fried egg and rice), and their green papaya salad. All were tasty and delicious and much closer to the authentic taste of Thai food compared to other Thai places in the neighborhood. It's a small unassuming place with just a counter and a few tables. I just ordered take-out through Seamless and I have to say this is hands-down the best Thai food in the neighborhood. First, it came piping hot, and fast, too. The Tom kha was everything it was supposed to be. The pad see ew and mango salad were great, and I'm saving them for tomorrow's lunch. Also got tofu song kreung and it's an excellent dish.
