Korean Fried Chicken Mixed 6 PC 4Wings 2 Drums
    Jamaica K.

I've always talked about how I wanted to try Korean Fried Chicken and I was at an appointment that way, so my husband brought me here for a date night. It's a beautiful place and we were seated by the waiter. We tried the chicken and it's the best chicken I've ever had in a while. It was crispy and thought I don't like legs, this made me want more! I heard of Kimchi, but didn't think I would want to try it, but it was different and not bad at all. The waiter suggested we try the rice with a protein in it and it was very filling. There was no wait and it was very beautiful inside. Definitely recommend!

Flavorful Wings & Fast Service! Talk about delicious, flavorful wings and fast service--Bonchon Pineville never disappoints! We decided to mix things up and go on Mother's Day, and it was the perfect choice. No long wait, just great food and good vibes. We ordered 20 wings (both flavors) and between the three of us, we still had five left--plenty of food! The wings were perfectly crispy and packed with bold, addictive flavor. The French fries were solid too--crispy and satisfying. BUT the cold slaw is a little subpar. If you're craving Asian-style wings and want something quick, tasty, and consistent, this is your spot. And don't forget the boba tea--definitely the cherry on top. Always a win!

The irony is that for a wing place, it's horrible. See pic. I think they get their chicken from Walmart. The Ostrich sized GMO "Chicken Legs" are what Walmart sells. It's gross. I grew up in K Town Los Angeles. I expected better, way better. Their bulgogi French fries and corn was good though but I went for the wings and what a letdown! For wings just head to Voodoo Wings. It's way better and the price is way cheaper than Bonchon. This place is way overpriced for the absence of quality. Do better.

    Mixed Chicken - 10 wings + 5 drumsticks

Ordered the mixed (10 wings + 5 drumsticks) fried chicken and a side of seasoned fries. I believe everything was made to order - all food was fresh/hot. You'll also have a decent wait for the food. I had soy garlic on the wings and korean bbq on the drumsticks. Out of those two flavors, korean bbq was my favorite. Everything was crispy, however the wings seemed to have more breading. The drumsticks were perfect - tender/juicy meat, with crispy skin and the sauce! No dipping sauce needed!! My previous review for the seasoned fries stands. If fries could be tossed in the seasoning for an EVEN COAT would be great. Service was okay. After receiving our food server didn't come back to check on us but arrived to provide the check.

I really enjoyed their Bulgogi Tacos, so decided to check out their Spicy Chicken Tacos this time... Well, all I can say is that these tacos did the trick for me. 2 large-sized, soft tacos with an abundance of spicy chicken, sauces and lettuce. Yummy! I would have liked it even more is if they added another veggie or so (maybe even Kimchi?). In any case, this 2-taco plate was priced right under 10 bucks...so only about 5 bucks each? Made for a super-cheap lunch! Service was always kinda iffy at this location. I can't say much about the waitress (she was a bit awkward...not communicative at all?), but the manager (I think?) was nice enough to come by to check on things. Also, this location made some renovations to make the place more colorful and comfy...with their new red booths. This place used to have somewhat of an uncozy vibe...so I totally welcome these changes! This may not be fine dining...but now, it's definitely what I'd consider comfort dining!

So I have never had food from this Bonchon. Not my favorite Ordered the Mopo Corn dog - was expecting a fun Mozzarella dog -- really just batter ans only about 3 inches long. Ordered Chicken fried Rice with extra chicken, really tasteless. Then 12 pieces of their Boneless Fried Chicken with Soy Garlic sauce - tasted like it was fried earlier in the day . So I was not pleased. The Park Road venue I loved - this one is a No. sorry ...

First time trying Korean BBQ, so I was cautious in my ordering. Restaurant located in, of course, a shopping mall. It's right next to Walmart. Right of Pineville Matthews Road. Wide spacious seating with a very friendly and helpful front desk person. You can order online or done in person. I did option 1. Very expansive menu, so I ordered the spicy chicken fried rice. Steaming hot and very fresh. I ordered the Korean Fried Chicken. Think of the chicken being fried twice. Ordered drums and wings. Did the half and half of soy garlic and Korean BBQ. No wow factor on this visit. But an A plus on service. I'll put them back on rotation and try something different on the food journey

one of our favorite spots to eat in Pineville, when we don't know what we want to eat we always go there, very tasty, clean, nice atmosphere. My favorites are chicken katsu and fried chicken.

This place has the best wings in Charlotte by a huge margin. They're not buffalo wings, they're Korean wings. They are massive and are so crispy that you can hear an audible "crunch" with each bite, yet, they are sauced and the meat is tender and flavorful. The 2 original flavors are soy garlic and hot which are both great, but they have added several more flavors including Korean BBQ and Yangnyeom (which is a sweet, savory, and garlicky). I simply can't choose a favorite--they're all so good. The Korean BBQ is quite sweet and sticky--Asian meat candy--which is irresistible. The wings are so large that 5 of them comprise a generous portion and an order of 10 is a massive feast. (They heat up nicely, retaining their crispiness, in the air fryer.) The wings are served with a side of sweet crunchy daikon chunks which is the perfect accompaniment though you can opt for cole slaw. Daikon is the way to go in my opinion. The fries are impeccable as well--coated fries that are crisp and fresh and without a bit of greasiness. We especially love the bulgogi fried rice as a side. The chicken strips are large cutlets and also crispy and impressive. Lastly, this location is tucked and hidden in the back of the strip shopping center. It's definitely worth finding. It's never as busy as it should be given how outstanding everything is.

While located in the back of a shopping plaza this place does not disappoint. We have ordered takeout and general stick to rice and chicken but as family came town we introduced them to Bonchon and ordered a few new items. The chicken sliders were delicious and very spicy. We tried them on two different visits they were so good! The japchea is a glass noodle dish and I was very surprised at how much I liked this dish!!!! Lots of veggies and packs a punch. The wings we had them in soy and hot. I will say this only get the hot if you are INTO spiciness. My family is and I enjoyed them but our table used the words pain and my lips are on fire a few times. Other notable items which surprised me and we tried where the fried rice, which had your usual egg, meat and onions. Finally the edamame Is a great appetizer to share with your table. You can also order Thai Boba tea from the shop and have it served at your table or get it to go. Try the honey dew milk tea! It's my favorite!!! Thanks for the hospitality Bonchon we will be back!!!!

I know nothing about Korean cuisine. Some dishes are exceptional in taste and others I have no reference for comment. I read all the reviews that my Korean Yelpie pal Rose E writes, and I'm still left wondering. Alas, a spicy chicken taco rescued me. We traveled to the Pineville-Matthews area to visit the Bonchon based on Rose's review (I have one nearer my home, but why chance it?). We ordered both the trio of Spicy Chicken Tacos and a plate of Beef Bulgogi. Easy. While both dishes were prepared well, the chicken spicy taco cracked it out of the park. Hot and spicy chicken perched atop a crisp bed of cold lettuce, cabbage, red onion, and mayo wrapped snugly in a warm, soft shell. Mmmmm. My kinda taco. The bulgogi, while delicious and hot, was too sweet for my liking (although I've learned that sugar is a key ingredient in the marinade). Not for me. Overall, the food was good (the tacos excellent) and the menu worthy of exploration. Our server, while attentive, was unable apparently of multi-tasking, handling only one table at a time. It was difficult to gain her attention unless it was your turn. Awkward. In the mood for Korean food? Follow Rose E's lead and "give 'em a whirl." Maybe you'll find yourself saying, "I'm ready to learn some more."

Our server Abby R was friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. We ordered a trio of appetizers for the table: Szechuan dumplings, wonton chips with crab Rangoon dip, and KFC (Korean fried chicken). The wings were as good as expected, great flavor, piping hot and crunchy. The real surprise was the wonton and Rangoon dip combination. Just a stellar idea, executed spectacularly. The Szechuan dumplings were a little spicy and tasty, but they were just warm, which gave them an oily mouth feel. I got a to-go order of pork fried rice, and I have to say, I could've done without it. Pulled pork just doesn't go with fried rice, flavorwise or texturally. The biggest disappointment about the meal was when I attempted to settle my tab. I walked to the front counter and was confronted by a young woman who snapped, "We don't take money up here!" Thankfully, Abby came out and took my payment, but the first young lady was so offputting, it will be a while before I go back, if ever. Definitely not how you convert a first-timer into a regular customer.

There were only 4 of us. They have 4 VERY low chairs at the front to wait. It was a Monday and there were only about 5 tables of people ... the rest of the restaurant was empty. A few minutes after my friend and I (walk-ins) ordered on the patio, I was asked to insert my card for a $50 pre-authorization. I've dined at many upscale restaurants and have never been asked to pre-authorize my card after ordering at a sit-down table. When the charge posted instead of simply dropping off, I called the manager. She apologized, confirmed it would be returned to my card (it was), and told me this was standard policy for all guests due to walkouts. However, I couldn't find any mention of this policy on their website or in the restaurant. A few days later, I called as a customer to ask about their payment policies. I was told that neither walk-ins nor reservations are required to pre-authorize a card, except for certain pre-booked experiences. When I explained what had happened, the employee was surprised, apologized, and said they had never heard of that happening. I have no issue with restaurants using pre-authorizations--as long as the policy is clearly disclosed and applied consistently. For example, VINYL in Charlotte explicitly tells guests that everyone is subject to a pre-authorization, so there are no surprises. Based on my experience, this policy was neither transparent nor consistently applied, and the conflicting explanations left me questioning why I was asked to pre-authorize my card when other guests were not. Because of that, I'll choose to spend my money elsewhere. Why was I asked to whip out my card & pre-authorize a $50 charge immediately after ordering when it's not standard policy and other guests weren't asked to do the same? How do you pick and choose which guests to pre authorize? What are you basing it on?
