We got there before 3 other larger groups arrived and the space is pretty small so sometimes it was hard to hear each other. I got the 2 wings, 2 drums combo with Half & Half flavors - Spicy and Sweet Crunch! I really enjoyed both flavors and they really balanced each other out. I also asked for a side of ranch to dip them in (yes, I'm that person haha) but the flavors are tasty enough that you don't need any side dips either. This restaurant is a Korean fusion that sell Korean styled fried chicken and other Korean dishes. We have been dining at Stapleton's location, in the shops of Northfield, since its grand opening in 2018. Bonchon is another awesome Korean chicken shop that sells everything Spicy, Soy Garlic and Half & Half. It reminds me of another Korean place in Havana Shopping Center called "Angry Chicken." I think they opened up around the same time as well. I like restaurants like these, because I cluck for double-fried chicken! Another helpful tip to mention, is that this franchise has an app available for Google Play and Apple Store!! I like that it allows you to order through your phone. Perfect for those who are interested in contactless interactions. What I love about this place is their menu has multiple choices from the Korean Tacos, to Bibimbap bowls to soups/salads. The Korean Tacos had called my attention because I felt a friendly comparison to my native "Latin community," tacos. The shell of the taco was super cute and honestly thin. We got a choice of spicy chicken or marinated ribeye. I wasn't feeling bold to try the ribeye, but the spicy chicken seemed more of my style. The chicken was safely wrapped over three flour tortillas. The inside was interesting! The chicken was topped with lettuce, coleslaw, buttermilk ranch, spicy mayo and these yummy red onions. Summary: The restaurant is both messy and dirty. It has a terrible smell. The service was not great, and the food was not up to the Bonchon standard. I tried to call ahead to place our order because we were in a hurry, but the server declined to take it. The first thing we noticed when we arrived was the terrible smell. I never figured out what it was. The second thing we noticed was how dirty and messy the restaurant is. There were no other guests and at least four servers in sight, doing nothing. There should not have been tables that needed bussing. There were sodas stacked off to the side and all manner of restaurant supplies in plain site. The floors were in disrepair and the bathrooms were also dirty and messy. We sat down and quickly decided what we were ordering. When our server arrived, we asked her about the happy hour, the hours for which were written on the specials board. She mumbled that it was for appetizers, and gave one example. Located in the northfield shopping center near the east side of the movie theater. I remember using Yelp to navigate but it kept showing the wrong spot for the restaurant. The restaurant is a little smaller than I had expected. I know this place has the potential to get filled on any given night. We just happened to show up during happy hour. They have deals on food (no chicken) and drinks. We ordered the medium order with half regular and half spicy. Had some fully loaded fries, takoyaki, and margaritas! I was actually anticipating to wait at least 30 min for the chicken because that's how it is at other KFC joints. I was surprised when our chicken was out in 15 min. Must've been lucky that day. Bad Ethics and Bad Business. It was date night and their app crashed when creating our order for pickup. We relaunched and reordered but the app defaulted to a different location. We noticed the mistake and called this location within minutes only to be told that there are no refunds for any reason. At least return my generous tip and taxes! To this day I cannot get a call back from anyone at this location or the franchise company. I have since disputed the order with my credit card company and we will see how they reply. Their pickled radish that comes as a side with the chicken compliments so well! Be prepared! This place is tiny and it gets packed because it's just so good! I've never really had an issue with the staff taking too long or anything. This comes from someone who was addicted and going there at least once a week! Also, their kimchi is excellent, highly recommend it as another side! However, the place is small and cramped with tables as the other reviews say. When we walked in, we were greeted by someone sitting at the bar on their laptop who told us to sit at a table. Not the best welcome, but our waitress's service made up for it! Mmm I love chicken. I've been to bonchon on the east coast and in Georgia. Colorado's bonchon is definitely better than Georgia! We brought a group of 8 or so on a Sunday night. Not a huge space, but it's not tiny... The servers were nice and they were really interactive with us. Our main server made sure we got what we needed and was really sweet too. We ordered a bunch of food but I didn't take photos of them all. The tteokbukki was spicy! I couldn't handle it. The bulgogi dish was flavorful. Seasoned fries were pretty seasoned but a little too crunchy for me! I got it for my 16 month old son to nibble on but I was hoping it'd be a little softer. Still good though! We also got the tenders/strips and I loved it! Maybe a litttttle dry (for others) but that's actually how I like my chicken lol. I didn't get to taste the fried wings but everyone else said they enjoyed it. Bacon kimchi fried rice had a nice spicy kick to it! Lastly, I looooved the salmon avocado!!!! Possibly the best wings you will ever have, but the dining experience there is a little tough. I have had Bonchon before, in DC, where it was a pretty big sports bar, lots of space, was a place I felt like I could hang out in all day. The one here in Stapleton is one that I was itching to get in and get out. The dining room is tiny and the tables are on top of each other. It's tough to get from one end of the dining room to the bathroom and vice-versa, you will get into someone's way. I was just uncomfortable. I ate here for lunch today with my sister, my 4 year old and 2 year old and they didn't offer a high chair for my 2 year old. I asked them if they had one because I saw another table with one. They told me that was the only one but could give me a booster chair. She is still a little too wiggly for a booster chair, so we rolled with her sitting in a normal chair and just prayed that it wouldn't take 30 mins for the wings to come out. Then, I take my sister to the bathroom and I see 2 high chairs stacked up in the hallway by the bathrooms. So I am not sure what the deal was with them not wanting me to have a high chair for my kid. I didn't say anything. That said, the food was as good as I remembered. The lunch specials are a great deal: 4 wings, 1 side for $8. I love both sauces and recommend you do half and half. I can't really speak on the other menu items other than the Kimchi, Fries, and Edamame. I saw other people eating stuff like Bibimbap, but this is a spot you go to for wings end of story. The other stuff might be good, but if you aren't at least trying the wings here, you are doing it wrong! While I am a huge fan of the chain and love their wings, it isn't set up for me to come back in eat with the whole family. The high chair situation is dicey, and I felt really cramped in dining room. I have been to Bonchon many years ago in New York, so when I found out they opened one in Stapleton, I had to take my wife there. Atmosphere and Service-A+ The place is located near a mall and movie theatre, so if you want to do a little shopping or catch a movie, you should definitely stop by this place before or afterwards. We stopped by on a busy Saturday night. The place was jumping, the music going, and the restaurant had an awesome vibe to it. We waited for less than 5 minutes and were seated promptly. The waitress was on top of her game, she brought us water right away and took very good care of us throughout the night. Food- A++ Anybody that has read any of my reviews, knows it's all about the food. In this day and age though, it's rare to have the trifecta where the food, service, and environment all is on point, but this place truly excelled in all faucets of the game. So after reviewing the menu for several minutes were ordered several dishes. When we entered the establishment our host was mediocre, she had little to no energy like she didn't want us here and was rushing us out. While waiting for our food they forgot to give us plates once the food came out and the plates they gave us were even dirty. I was so excited when BonChon announced they would come to Denver. So excited that I basically called once a week until they finally answered, a human and not a voicemail message! BonChon is a Korean Fried Chicken chain. while they are known for their Korean Fried Chicken, one of my favorite dishes is the kimchi bacon fried rice. I have dreams about this dish. It is spicy, has crunch, pork belly, and kimchi all in one. I make kimchi fried rice at home and while I think it can use more kimchi (but let's be honest I want more kimchi on everything) it is definitely something I crave over and over. Their chicken is crunchy and juicy. Be careful ordering the spicy if you are not a huge spicy person. I love spicy food and put extra spice on everything, yet the spicy wings still burned my lips and mouth. These wings are the slow simmering spice that sneak up on you. The other wing option is the honey garlic wings but these are just okay in my opinion. We also ordered the spicy chicken tacos, and just like my warning above these are spicy!!!! Maybe I should capitalize that so you get the point. SPICY!!! But I also love the burn so I will order this again and again. Our server was sweet and attentive. The sauces tasted slightly inconsistent from dish to dish. The dining area is way too small for the number of tables crammed in the space. I was bumped repeatedly throughout my dinning experience. I would recommend ordering to go or going when the business volume is slower. The chicken is the main star of the show and rightfully so. It is very crisp and the sauces are good. If you are a novice to spice order the coleslaw for a break in the spice or order ranch (the chicken does not come with a sauce). I would say as someone who loves spicy food, the spice level for their hottest is about a 6-7 for normal people. About a 4 for spice lovers. read more

A rare case when a picture on a menu doesn't look as good as what you get. I wanted to try this place for such a long time (even though I don't eat chicken, Bonchon has tons of other interesting options for pescatarians like myself). I got their salmon avocado ball, and it was a true explosion of the most delicious flavors! It was very filling - of course not the most healthy option but so worth it. I was a bit worried that I wouldn't be able to find a table for two at 5:30 pm as it's a very small place but they had tons of open seats. However, by the time we were leaving around 7 pm, the place was packed and you would have to wait to get a table. A lot of people were getting to go orders, definitely a way to go if you live nearby. We came in Saturday night and noticed there was a few groups waiting outside. The place is sort of small compared to the other locations but there also tables outside. Outside seating wasn't too bad until it got really cold. They could use some heaters outside during the colder months. Service is exceptional! Everyone from the host to servers were helpful and nice. Recommendations from our waitress was on point. In terms of the food, we ordered the large wings half/half, shrimp Shumai, sliders (chicken and rib eye), Korean bulgogi tacos, and kimchi fried rice. Shrimp shumai could have been better, barely tasted any shrimp except for the few chunks inside. Probably pass on it next time. The sliders were perfect, both cooked perfectly. In terms of flavor I would prefer the chicken over the bulgogi because the nice flavor and crunch. Bulgogi tacos yum! Perfect combination of flavors on a flour tortilla. Kimchi fried rice with bacon was fire! Perfect portion for four people. The chicken wings sort of took awhile to come out but it was definitely worth it. Food: What we ordered and how they were: 1. Wings, boneless strips, and drumsticks. We ordered 1/2 spicy and 1/2 soy ginger. Delicious. Seasoned well, light batter, crisp and flavorful. The spicy was well seasoned and had a definite kick, and soy ginger was delicious too. We would definitely order the wings and strips again; the drumsticks were a bit too big but that's just a personal preference. 2. Japchae: lots of meat and fresh veggies in it, and came out piping hot. I would maybe add a bit more sesame oil to increase the flavor, but would overall order again. 3. Bacon Kimchi fried rice was only okay. It either needed more salt or more kimchi flavor, and was too much like regular bokkeumbap with bacon added. Otherwise it was ok. 4. Dumplings: by the time they came out, we were full from our other 6 dishes. They looked good but had sauce drizzled on it that was too much (teriyaki or something?) and would have been better on the side, I think. 5. Seasoned fries were good for our toddler. He kept demanding we put it back next to his seat at the table. I think they were battered; standard fries. Pickled radish and coleslaw were good accompaniments. We placed our order the minute we sat down and our food came out fairly quickly; I think other tables were waiting a while. Updated June 22- Since this place opened we have returned at least 10 times and I also catered my office's holiday party from here and now all of my meat-eating coworkers go out of their way to get BonChon. So yummy! Our go-tos are the half and half wings, soy garlic strips for the kiddo, japchae (soo good), pork buns, salmon avocado ball, and chicken fried rice. Average. Ordered fried chicken (half and half) the crust was just ok not like your typical Korean fried chicken. The soy garlic one it's delicious though not salty or bland. It was perfect. The spicy one is not that amazing. Ordered the kimchi fried rice and again NOT your typical traditional Kimchi fried rice. The flavor of shrimp was sooo strong and had red peppers? Had scrambled egg in it. I didn't like it. But if you are in to non traditional kimchi fried rice that taste like some other culture made it, this is for you. Got as well the bulgogi and it was delicious. The meat was tender the flavor was there. White rice it was meh. The pork buns were everything! Very good. read more
