Bonchon's Soy Garlic flavored wings are one of my favorite wings spot in my area! It is conveniently close to my work, so I order and pick up chicken wings from here quite often. The food is always great, the crisp on the chicken and the soy garlic flavor is so addicting! I have tried the spicy ones as well, but I enjoy the Soy Garlic flavor more. I usually order before 3:00PM for their lunch special. The hostesses here are also very friendly, they even take down your number and call you when the food is ready for pick, I think that's a great service touch. I do think that the price are a little high. I wish it was just a little cheaper, it's quite over-priced compared to other chicken wings restaurants. That's where I took 1 star off. I've been to Bonchon, but in VA and i just thought the wings were the best. Just recently, we drove past a Bonchon in Las Vegas so we had to try it. We were not disappointed. The waitress who was there was crazy nice and patient with us. She explained what was good and how much was a usual amount to order. We sat down. They delivered the food then afterwards you pay. The wings there are probably the best I've had. They are SO crunchy and flavorful and juicy. We got half soy/teriyaki and half the new sweet chili flavor. I have visited their locations in NYC years ago. I was craving their dumplings with soy garlic sauce and wanted some of their Bulgogi tacos. Unfortunately they don't sell the salmon item anymore but it was really good! I ordered via a delivery service. The food was a bit cold when it arrived ... I live about 10 minutes away. So I'd suggest possibly packing it better. The Korean tacos tasted great. The dumplings were great too (aside from both being cold) however the dumplings could've used more sauce. The crust was on the dull side, the soy garlic sauce is my FAVORITE so I was hoping for more. It's a Friday night and I didn't feel like cooking plus Game 5 of the NBA finals was on so we figured wings would be a great choice. To change it up, we decided to go with Bonchon instead of the usual BDubs or Wing Stop. Door Dash saved my lazy self by delivering Bonchon right to my doorstep! We ordered the 20 pc soy garlic wings with pickled daikon (radish) as the side. Despite the wings traveling 15-20mins to my house, they were still hot & fresh with crispy skin when we dug in. The wings were phenomenal as usual! Wings here are super flavorful without being greasy and too saucy. It's perfect! Knocked one star off for slow cooking. Not sure what their cooking process is but even pre-COVID, dining in would feel like a painfully long process. We used to have a lot of difficulty with service from getting seated to ordering to waiting forever for the wings and then even waiting a long time for our check. I definitely prefer delivery over dining in because at least I'm home doing what I need to get done while waiting for my food instead of waiting in the restaurant for what feels like ages and having my hair & clothes smell like fried chicken afterward :) I recommend ordering about 1.5 hrs before the time you actually want to eat. We came in on a Thursday night, and they weren't that busy so we got seated right away. We ordered 30 wings, half spicy, and half glazed. The food came out a lot quicker than I expected, the other bonchon chicken that I went to in Santa Clara, took almost 30 min for the chicken to come out. The spicy chicken here is surprisingly spicy!!!! It actually leaves your mouth tingling, and your lips burn. The other spicy chicken I had at the one in Santa Clara wasn't spicy at all, so I was so happy that this place was actually spicy. The soy glazed is lightly sweet and salty and delicious if you can't handle the spicy one. We also ordered onion rings, the onion rings were huge and beefy. The pickled radish that the chicken comes with really helps to complete the dish, otherwise the chicken would feel too heavy. I guess I'm done with this place now. It's a shame because i really liked it initially and introduced several friends to it who also really liked it. First off, there's the cost. I understand that the recession has driven up prices but $140 to feed three people and there's no booze on the bill? Making matters worse, they make you pay nearly a dollar for a tiny cup of ranch or other dip after you're already paying $1.33 per wing! The wings were over-battered to the point where the batter to chicken ratio was nearly 1:1. That is too much batter and there didn't used to be that much. I feel like they're buying smaller wings and trying to make them look larger with the batter. I bit into one that had so much batter that the inch and a half deep bite didn't even hit chicken. Additionally, my wings were under-sauced to the point that you could barely taste the sauce flavor over the taste of the breading. The chicken strips were over-battered and over cooked to the point they were like breaded chicken jerky. Disgusting! Making matters worse, the service was crap. I had to keep getting up and going to the counter to request drink refills and napkins and then they wanted a tip for service. The final straw can be seen in the photo for my most recent visit. The thermostat was set to 90 on a day where it was 112 outside and there was a sign next to it telling customers not to touch it. Thanks for a crappy meal with crappy service in an uncomfortable atmosphere that you created and then charged me $140 for. This was my wife's first visit after hearing me talk this place up. Been here twice before, but the third time was definitely the worst. We ordered a combo and fried rice. I did not want the kimchi fried rice if it was actually bacon and not pork belly, and would have preferred the bulgogi fried rice if that was the case, but the one girl from the Midwest (Evellyn?) convinced my boyfriend to order it because they're both from the Midwest and there is a huge bacon bias. It. Tastes. Awful. Kimchi fried rice is salty enough as it is. Why add ridiculously salty bacon? Taste bud overload, I had to spit it out. They also super skimp on the kimchi... I think I counted a whopping 5 pieces! Chicken has gone downhill. It's very dry, not nearly as tender or moist as it used to be. It took almost one minute to chew one small bite to a point where it wasn't so dry that I couldn't get or keep it down. I would be hard pressed to return after three increasingly worse experiences. Minus one star for culture bias. Minus one star for dry chicken. Minus one star for poor customer service. If you love salt and want a heart attack, definitely go for the kimchi and bacon fried rice! I had a bite of a friend's one time, and I just kept thinking about it, so I went on my own; now I have had it several times for lunch and it's just perfect every time. The fried rice portion is intended for sharing, so I easily get two lunches out of an order. Their version of fried rice has red bell peppers instead of peas and carrots. The seasoning is also different, but similar, and oh so good! Carry out service is easy enough at their hostess counter, but the waiting area is a little cramped and awkward. We have been to this place a couple times. The first time we came for lunch and it was pretty good. We had some of the lunch specials. When looking through their normal menu some of the other items really looked good, even though they were a bit overpriced. We decided to come back for more chicken and try the Japchae, which is something we love getting at Korean BBQ. We ordered 20 pieces of wings and the Japchae. The wings were ok this time. The garlic was pretty good but the sweet honey one had a bad aftertaste and was hard to finish. Taste like they use cheap honey. The Japchae came out quickly. The texture and taste makes me think this was simply reheated from the day before. Very disappointed, especially for the price. Lets talk about the service. Our waitress was not good. She was on the phone the whole time she was serving us. Literally coming to the table, clearing plates, refilling water while she had her other hand with a phone against her ear. We ordered the family pack because it seemed like The Logical choice. If you ordered the item separately it would be more expensive. The family that comes with 6 drumsticks and 12 pieces of wings so we decided to make half mild and half spicy. For the side we ordered french fries and coleslaw and we ordered fried rice. The spicy chicken was a little bit hotter than I'm used to, as it made my scalp sweat. But the spicy one is the way to go. After eating the spicy one the mild one doesn't taste as good. Both the mild and spicy had a crispy outside that was drizzled with a sweet sauce. We ended up taking back some chicken to the room and eating it as a midnight snack. The fries are really good and it seemed like they were battered. The coleslaw and the fried rice were just average. Simply the best, better than all the rest. We are snowbirding (from Portland) and have really missed KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) since we left the Bay Area California. Orders are obviously cooked to order so expect to wait. After a decent wait the food arrived. I got the spice and garlic mixed. So, spicy is really spicy, be warned! It is hot but does have good flavor. I think I liked the garlic better. The rice is good, not sure why I thought it was so good, I think I typically make my rice too dry. This is moist fluffy and flavorful. I was concerned that the lunch special was not going to be enough food but it does fill you up. The boneless meal had substantially more meat, but the texture was bland. I'm not a fan of breast meat but my partner was happy so win win! I'm really glad we stopped here.
