The BTS hype is real! Typically not a à la carte KBBQ guy, but this place was legit. Forewarning it's on the pricey side but it is premium so the quality meets expectation. From the meat selection, to the overall cleanness of the restaurant and vibe it's a very nice spot. The lighting and tables were a nice touch. Austin! I've been to Hobak a couple of times because the food is genuinely good, but unfortunately, the service has been consistently disappointing. On our visits, it took a very long time for someone to take our order. We also had to ask multiple times just to get our water refilled. What made the experience even more frustrating was seeing employees joking and playing around with each other while customers were waiting for service. I really wanted to like this place, which is why I gave it more than one chance. The food is good, but service is such an important part of the dining experience, and unfortunately it has fallen short each time. It's sad because this restaurant has a lot of potential. We tried it more than once hoping things would improve, but after experiencing the same service issues again, we've decided we won't be going back. read more

One of my favorite KBBQ places I've been to hands down. Came here with 4 starving people after a full day of waking around Valley of Fire and Hoover Dam. Got here on a Friday at 6pm and wasn't an issue getting a table. However, it filled up quickly within the hour. The staff was super friendly and the atmosphere was really cool- felt like being at a night market. We got the giant patter for 4-5 people where we chose 6 meats, 4 sides, and a dessert per person. Between that and the unlimited bonchon we left insanely stuffed. And satisfied- everything was delicious. Special shoutout to the kalbi (marinated and non marinated), as well as the bulgogi. I also really enjoyed the giant pot rice cakes and the seafood pancake. Barely got a few bites of the tasty dessert (churro with ice cream) before calling it quits. This was more like 4.75 stars. Came here around 9 pm and even though it says they're open until 11 pm, they actually begin closing at 10 pm and that includes the kitchen just FYI. Was pleasantly surprised by the variety of combos they had. The banchan was DELICIOUS. They all tasted of high quality. The meat quality was similarly good. Brisket was not super fatty and the short rib was really juicy, almost like wagyu without it actually being wagyu. Even the leftovers were good and the portions were very generous. Left feeling so full, including with the sides. The service was very friendly, but things didn't seem super organized in the back as our included sides didn't come out until we were almost finished with our meat courses (and then by that time we were stuffed so could barely eat it). Sometimes we asked for things and then it would be forgotten about. I think maybe we came at an off time or off hour, but definitely made our dinner a little longer than we anticipated. Never judge a book by its cover. From the outside, Hobak, which means pumpkin in Korean, looks like your standard KBBQ spot. Step inside, though, and suddenly you are transported somewhere that feels straight out of the Euljiro district in downtown Seoul. The welcome sets the tone. The mostly non-Korean staff greet you by shouting something in Korean. I had to ask my Chinese server what it meant. He laughed and said, "Hobak imnida" which translates to "We are Hobak." Kind of silly, but honestly part of the charm. What we did not realize is that Hobak is celebrating its tenth year in business. In Las Vegas, that is no small feat. Restaurants here disappear faster than a weekend bankroll, so a decade says a lot. Also worth noting, Hobak is not AYCE. They offer set menus and à la carte options. We went with the set menu for two, and it was more than enough food. That said, if you are strictly a meat-only person, this might not be your ideal spot. The seafood pancake and kimchi stew deserve just as much attention as the meat! The real surprise though: while it is not AYCE, they quietly rolled out AYCD all you can drink for $14 back in November. Yes, you read that right. So plan accordingly. Bring a DD or call a Lyft because things can escalate quickly. We ended up with two bottles of soju and two large Cass beers, which would have easily been double the AYCD price. Sodas are also included. One of the better deals you will find in this city. Service was excellent across the board. Tyler, who is half Japanese and half White, handled the brisket and short ribs like a pro. Our tattooed Chinese server, who looked intimidating at first glance, turned out to be incredibly friendly and grilled the pork jowl perfectly. Everyone else kept the banchan coming with a smile. By the time we finished, we had to walk laps around the shopping center just to recover. We left full, slightly buzzed, and, fittingly, feeling like a couple of very giant hobaks. read more

I don't have a lot of experience with Korean barbecue, and at first glance the prices looked more expensive at Hobok than the other places. In fact, because the other places are all-you-can-eat, we almost switched our reservation and went somewhere else. But as it turns out, even though it's not all-you-can-eat, it's more than you can eat, so it works out. There were five of us, and we got a build-your-own platter plus a few bottles of Perrier. The total bill, with a 25% tip and a cash discount, came out to $45 per person. We were stuffed, and the food was delicious -- everything was so great. We ordered six different meats and four different sides, and it came with a multitude of endless little accompaniments like kimchi, noodles, and salads. The only criticism I had was the dessert. It was ice cream, and it tasted cheap -- just wasn't good. But who cares, because we were stuffed and happy with our meal. We left the ice cream there; none of us ate any of it. The service was exceptional. I thought it would be busy, so we went early, but we were one of only two tables, so we had everyone's full attention. They were friendly and spent a lot of time at our table helping us and making sure we were taken care of. read more

As far as KBBQ experiences go, there aren't many places in Las Vegas that do it better than Hobak. The festive atmosphere, fabulous service, and quality food make it such that they've become my first option whenever I make it to LV. They're not just one of the best restaurants in Chinatown, but certainly in contention with the best of Korean establishments in the entire city. Unlike the mom-n-pop bizes in the area, it should come as no surprise that Hobak is stems from South Korea, where it is a celebrated and successful brand. This location in Las Vegas is their first in the US. Because they're so popular, it's almost always guaranteed there's a wait. Inside there is ample seating for groups and plenty of options for carnivores. The restaurant feels clean and the smells/odors are quite mild for a restaurant with grills going in all directions. #ventilation So much of their quality steps from the fact that you USDA-certified black angus beef and heritage pork. Their banchan feels standard but is high quality in terms of offerings and variety. I'm quite impressed with their aged short ribs, pork belly skirt, steak, brisket, and pork belly. Highly recommended is also there can she cheese, fried rice, and steamed egg. It won't be a total sticker shock for KBBQ enthusiasts, but it won't have the same value as an AYCE spot either. Honestly, the absolute highlight of our night was our server, John. Hobak was pure chaos because of the BTS Arirang promo, but John could not have been sweeter. I was so impressed by how efficient, courteous, and professional he was while running around in such a crazy environment. The entire staff is working so hard during this BTS run-I seriously hope management is giving them some sort of holiday pay for this! LOL As for the rest of the experience, expect a wait. We waited about 2 hours, but the friendly staff made the time pass a bit easier. The Arirang menu was super cute and a lot of fun, and the souvenir card was a great touch. We got the large combo and most of the food was pretty good, except for the bulgogi at the very end, which was way too salty to finish. The only other bummer was the ventilation at our table. It wasn't working the best, so I left the restaurant with really stingy, watery eyes. Overall, it's a bit of a mixed bag with the smoke and the salty bulgogi, but the fun BTS perks and John's incredible service made it worth the trip. Thank you, John!! read more

First night we had the $199.00 Wagyu dinner for 2 to 3 and it was plenty of food and WOW the Wagyu galbi was amazing and so was the Wagyu briskets! Second day we went to have the $20.99 lunch special and the rice with the nooroongji had hobak inside the black rice and their galbi with dwenjang jigae or the soondooboo jigae were awesome. Wow oh Wow! Hobak has now made it into the top 5 best KBBQ places I have ever been to. Located in Las Vegas Hobak is a cute themed Korean BBQ restaurant with vents that extend into the table to suck up any smoke. Hobok is not all you can eat but the sets are decently sized and one set which was said to serve 2 people fed me and two others (3 people) with leftovers! When we went we decided to order the beef set which came with beef brisket, cuts of ribeye and marinated meat at the end. It also came with soft tofu soup, steamed egg and tons and tons of banchan which you can get refills on. What was the best part was that the waiters cook the meat for you, and they cook it to perfection so that every piece you get is juicy and perfectly seared. I cannot recommend Hobak enough. We got the small family combo 1 which had brisket, pork belly, skirt steak and pork ribs. the menu indicated that it was good for 2 people but could have easily fed 4 adults. We ended up only getting through the first two meats and had to pack the rest to go! The meats were really fresh and they gave you an abundance of side dishes, including rice balls, soybean soup, and steamed egg, all of which were delicious! I have been coming here for some time whenever I visit Las Vegas. It's my go-to Korean BBQ. The meats are amazing, usually get the aged Korean BBQ and the pork jowl. Recently they changed their menu slightly so actually works in my favor as previously could not get what I wanted from the combos offered. Now with the build your own, makes it possible and it is a value versus me ordering a la carte what I want, since already know from many visits. I really enjoy the value of going off strip for my eats; price, quality and service is so much better to stretch your $ and get the most. That's why I always rent a car when flying in. The setting is very cool, looks like an authentic Korean BBQ restaurant you would find in Korea. Restaurant was very clean and the service was very good. We shared a meat combo that came with 4 different protein choices and three sides. Very reasonably priced for the amount of food we got. We had Prime rib-eye, marinated short rib, pork belly and tiger shrimp. All the meats were very good. For sides we had seafood pancake (5/5), soybean paste stew (4/5) and nangmyun w/ broth (4/5). Hobak has become one of my favorite KBBQ spots when I'm visiting Vegas. I was back this back weekend and brought a friend with me who had never been to Vegas before. This was our first stop off the plane for dinner and I think it was a great introduction to the city's food scene. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the staff and offered slushies from their machine while we waited. They were tasty and a nice touch for the customers. We went with the beef dinner for 3-4 people and it was so much food. We had brisket, ribeye and short rib along with steamed egg, the soybean soup and the banchan which was all so amazing. I was so impressed and then on top of that the dessert that came out was so good but we just didn't have the capacity to finish it, but I really enjoyed the bite I did get in. Coming here on New Year's Eve, I was a little bit worried about not having a reservation, but since we came earlier (5:30pm), it wasn't busy at all. There were plenty of tables open. We had called earlier and they said that they typically don't get busy until 7pm, which is exactly what we observed when we were there. With a party of 3 adults (although relatively small eaters), we ordered the small combo and it was still a lot of food for us that we ended up taking a fair amount of leftovers home. In that regard, it was pretty good value compared to the price. They provide quite a bit of sides (banchan) too and you can always order more of what you finish for banchan. I liked that they had a fair amount of fresher/vegetable sides as well as non-veggies. The cuts of meat were mostly good quality, although the brisket had a lot of fat. We don't really drink, so we didn't take them up on this offer, but they were also offering a $14 all-you-can-drink option. Considering that a bottle of soju is close to this amount, this is a great deal if you're drinkers. The service was amazing. They cook for you and everything came out relatively quickly (we actually had to ask them to slow down). We had an issue with our first table and they did not hesitate to re-seat us and refreshed everything (banchan, utensils, water, etc.). They also comped us a bit on our bill, which they didn't have to, but we greatly appreciated. All in all, great customer service, great value, and amazing food - we found our go-to KBBQ spot!! read more

A friend of mine recommended this place and it did not disappoint! We went for an early lunch and it was nearly empty... however it did get busy during the dinner hours. Cute interior, spaced out nicely, and it was cool inside despite it being 100+ degrees outside and with the BBQ grill going. We ordered the combo for 2 (but really it could feed 4 people easily). The meats we chose were beef belly, pork jowl, and beef tongue... the pork belly was already included. Every single thing was amazing! Was really surprised me was the beef tongue. I was full after the first order of meat but everything tasted so good that we couldn't stop eating! The banchan was also great! Truly think we were so full by the time the meat came because all the side dishes were delicious. Dessert is also part of the combo and it was the first time I've ever had something like that! Side entrees, almost good enough to be standalone restaurant fare. Banchan is a little weak, but you aren't here for the banchan. The large build-your-own combo comes with 6 meats and 4 side entrees, and will reliably feed a party of 4 for $150. Bang for your buck much? No scrubs here when it comes to service either. We took our international group of 9 here and it was very much the highlight of their Vegas meals! My hubs and I go to Hobak with our adult kids and US relatives. We love that the man the grill for you. I feel badly for the people in our group that do the grill because they end up focusing on not burning the meat instead of being able to be part of dinner conversation (ask me how I know that-LOL!).
