This was more like 4.75 stars. Came here around 9 pm and even though it says they're open until 11 pm, they actually begin closing at 10 pm and that includes the kitchen just FYI. Was pleasantly surprised by the variety of combos they had. The banchan was DELICIOUS. They all tasted of high quality. The meat quality was similarly good. Brisket was not super fatty and the short rib was really juicy, almost like wagyu without it actually being wagyu. Even the leftovers were good and the portions were very generous. Left feeling so full, including with the sides. The service was very friendly, but things didn't seem super organized in the back as our included sides didn't come out until we were almost finished with our meat courses (and then by that time we were stuffed so could barely eat it). Sometimes we asked for things and then it would be forgotten about. I think maybe we came at an off time or off hour, but definitely made our dinner a little longer than we anticipated. The music was also at a good level and parking was easy.

Honestly, the absolute highlight of our night was our server, John. Hobak was pure chaos because of the BTS Arirang promo, but John could not have been sweeter. I was so impressed by how efficient, courteous, and professional he was while running around in such a crazy environment. The entire staff is working so hard during this BTS run-I seriously hope management is giving them some sort of holiday pay for this! LOL As for the rest of the experience, expect a wait. We waited about 2 hours, but the friendly staff made the time pass a bit easier. The Arirang menu was super cute and a lot of fun, and the souvenir card was a great touch. We got the large combo and most of the food was pretty good, except for the bulgogi at the very end, which was way too salty to finish. The only other bummer was the ventilation at our table. It wasn't working the best, so I left the restaurant with really stingy, watery eyes. Overall, it's a bit of a mixed bag with the smoke and the salty bulgogi, but the fun BTS perks and John's incredible service made it worth the trip. Thank you, John!!

I absolutely love this place! Wonderful place to celebrate birthdays or anniversaries! The staff here is always very attentive and friendly. Their food is always absolutely amazing. Of course Korean barbecue with a group is best but if you're flying solo or it's just a couple of people wanting a good lunch definitely give their $20.99 lunch specials a try! Depending on how much you eat, you could possibly share them!

Loved the meats, service was good considering it was BTS concert weekend. Banchan was delicious, they also have ice cream for dessert. A little tricky for groups of 5. The meats were tender and flavorful. Highly recommend!

Never judge a book by its cover. From the outside, Hobak, which means pumpkin in Korean, looks like your standard KBBQ spot. Step inside, though, and suddenly you are transported somewhere that feels straight out of the Euljiro district in downtown Seoul. The welcome sets the tone. The mostly non-Korean staff greet you by shouting something in Korean. I had to ask my Chinese server what it meant. He laughed and said, "Hobak imnida" which translates to "We are Hobak." Kind of silly, but honestly part of the charm. What we did not realize is that Hobak is celebrating its tenth year in business. In Las Vegas, that is no small feat. Restaurants here disappear faster than a weekend bankroll, so a decade says a lot. Also worth noting, Hobak is not AYCE. They offer set menus and à la carte options. We went with the set menu for two, and it was more than enough food. That said, if you are strictly a meat-only person, this might not be your ideal spot. The seafood pancake and kimchi stew deserve just as much attention as the meat! The real surprise though: while it is not AYCE, they quietly rolled out AYCD all you can drink for $14 back in November. Yes, you read that right. So plan accordingly. Bring a DD or call a Lyft because things can escalate quickly. We ended up with two bottles of soju and two large Cass beers, which would have easily been double the AYCD price. Sodas are also included. One of the better deals you will find in this city. Service was excellent across the board. Tyler, who is half Japanese and half White, handled the brisket and short ribs like a pro. Our tattooed Chinese server, who looked intimidating at first glance, turned out to be incredibly friendly and grilled the pork jowl perfectly. Everyone else kept the banchan coming with a smile. By the time we finished, we had to walk laps around the shopping center just to recover. We left full, slightly buzzed, and, fittingly, feeling like a couple of very giant hobaks.

OMG. Really good food for a great price. Surprising that we are not compromising quality for price. Got the small combo for a party of two. It was way too much food. We stuffed ourselves and still had one plate of meat left. We got the bento box as a side. That was almost a meal in itself. Had Kim chi, spam and eggs in it. It was delicious. Added bonus of not having to put in the work yourself. Would advise small parties to just a couple plates of meat. Try to come after the lunch crowd, it can fill up.

Hobak Korean BBQ absolutely delivered! We came in with a very large party, and I was genuinely impressed with how smooth and efficient the entire experience was. The staff was moving fast in the best way, constantly bringing out food, cooking the meats perfectly, clearing plates, and checking in without ever making us feel rushed or forgotten. The attentiveness was truly 10/10. The meats were delicious high quality, well-seasoned, and cooked just right. The vegetables were fresh and crisp, which made the whole meal feel balanced and satisfying. One of my favorite parts was being able to try all the different Korean side dishes. It was such a fun and interesting experience tasting everything, discovering new flavors, and sharing them around the table. It really adds to the whole vibe of Korean BBQ. Great food, incredible service, and an atmosphere that can handle big groups without missing a beat. This place knows what they're doing, and I'll definitely be back.

As far as KBBQ experiences go, there aren't many places in Las Vegas that do it better than Hobak. The festive atmosphere, fabulous service, and quality food make it such that they've become my first option whenever I make it to LV. They're not just one of the best restaurants in Chinatown, but certainly in contention with the best of Korean establishments in the entire city. Unlike the mom-n-pop bizes in the area, it should come as no surprise that Hobak is stems from South Korea, where it is a celebrated and successful brand. This location in Las Vegas is their first in the US. Because they're so popular, it's almost always guaranteed there's a wait. Inside there is ample seating for groups and plenty of options for carnivores. The restaurant feels clean and the smells/odors are quite mild for a restaurant with grills going in all directions. #ventilation So much of their quality steps from the fact that you USDA-certified black angus beef and heritage pork. Their banchan feels standard but is high quality in terms of offerings and variety. I'm quite impressed with their aged short ribs, pork belly skirt, steak, brisket, and pork belly. Highly recommended is also there can she cheese, fried rice, and steamed egg. It won't be a total sticker shock for KBBQ enthusiasts, but it won't have the same value as an AYCE spot either. It will however, remain an excellent experience due to food prep, stellar service, and deliberate old school vibe.

Hobak Korean BBQ is easily one of my family's favorite KBBQ spots, and we've been to quite a few. This place consistently delivers on quality, flavor, and overall experience. The food here is absolutely amazing. The meats are fresh, well-marinated, and packed with flavor. The prices are great for what you get, the portions are perfect, and the menu has a wide variety of options to choose from, so there's something for everyone. Whether you're going with KBBQ favorites or trying something new, you really can't go wrong. While it's a great spot year-round, my family and I especially love coming here during the fall and winter seasons. The atmosphere has a cozy, cabin-like feel that makes it extra enjoyable when it's cold outside. Sitting around the grill with warm food cooking right in front of you just makes it the perfect cold-weather dining spot. The service is also amazing. The staff checks on you often, makes sure everything is running smoothly, and they're always ready to help cook if needed. They're attentive without being overbearing, which we really appreciate. Definitely a place I'd recommend everyone try at least once -- and most likely you'll end up coming back again and again.

I have been coming here for some time whenever I visit Las Vegas. It's my go-to Korean BBQ. The meats are amazing, usually get the aged Korean BBQ and the pork jowl. Recently they changed their menu slightly so actually works in my favor as previously could not get what I wanted from the combos offered. Now with the build your own, makes it possible and it is a value versus me ordering a la carte what I want, since already know from many visits. I really enjoy the value of going off strip for my eats; price, quality and service is so much better to stretch your $ and get the most. That's why I always rent a car when flying in. The $ I save and quality I get after the cost of the rental is so worth it. I definitely will be returning. Enjoy!

Wow oh Wow! Hobak has now made it into the top 5 best KBBQ places I have ever been to. Located in Las Vegas Hobak is a cute themed Korean BBQ restaurant with vents that extend into the table to suck up any smoke. Hobok is not all you can eat but the sets are decently sized and one set which was said to serve 2 people fed me and two others (3 people) with leftovers! When we went we decided to order the beef set which came with beef brisket, cuts of ribeye and marinated meat at the end. It also came with soft tofu soup, steamed egg and tons and tons of banchan which you can get refills on. What was the best part was that the waiters cook the meat for you, and they cook it to perfection so that every piece you get is juicy and perfectly seared. I cannot recommend Hobak enough. The meat, the sauces, and flavor were all incredible!

Hobak BBQ offers an impressive Korean barbecue experience with a few standout perks that make it especially memorable. The $8 all-you-can-drink option is a fantastic deal and pairs perfectly with the meal, keeping the vibe relaxed and enjoyable without breaking the bank. The private, semi-enclosed ambience creates a comfortable setting that's great for conversations, small groups, or date nights. It feels cozy without being cramped, and the staff does a great job of checking in while still giving you space. Most importantly, the meat quality is excellent--well-marbled cuts, fresh flavors, and consistent tenderness across the board. Each grilling round feels satisfying, and the sides complement the proteins well. Overall, Hobak BBQ delivers great value, great atmosphere, and great food.

Hobak Korean BBQ Reviews in Other Languages

Ask the Community - Hobak Korean BBQ

    Do they take reservations?

    They do not.

Do they accommodate for a large group like 10 people?

Yes they can. But they do not accept reservation. Just all walk in and all party arrive together.

Do they have a bar where you can sit or only tables?

    Unfortunately only tables are available

Is this grilled via charcoal or has? Do you offer the egg ring around the grill?

    Gas and no egg ring

Can you detail the Vegetarian options? Large party with one vegetarian. Thanks

Our options that are vegetarian are dongchimi noodle (noodles with cold broth the base being Koran radish)…

Do they have any seafood or shrimp options?

I'm fairly certain this one doesn't, typically Korean BBQs don't. There are several vegetarian options, tofu, no meat etc. but Korean BBQ usually revolves around pork and beef.

Any options for vegetarians? Can i get the soup with no meat?

No , primarily a meat focused restaurant. Not a good option for vegetarians.

Can one person go alone or no?

    Yes definitely

Do they have table for 8?

Yes in one of the booths from what I remember

Do they allow pets? (cats and dogs)

Unfortunately we do not allow pets. However, service animals are accommodated.

Do we need to make a reservation during this covid era?

I called yesterday...walk ins only .. we go in mid afternoon so not a problem..

Looking at the photos looks like there are different grill options ,one's a flat plate with slots and the other is a square mesh, what meats or combos come with what grill type?

It doesn't really matter and anyways, they grill for you so they will grill it to perfection

    Any rice paper?

    No rice paper

With covid, do we need to make a reservation to be able to dine in or walk ins are welcome?

    Walk-ins only

    Is this place wheelchair accessible?

I'm not sure. You should call them. I do remember they had no steps or obstructions leading in.

Is there a two person minimum to have a grill table or can I come here alone?

    You can go alone.

Do they cook the food for you and do they just stand their afterwards?

They cook it for you and then leave once it's cooked.

Are there different side that you can order other than the ones that come prepped on the table? If so what are they and are they on a menu somewhere?

Yes, there are many other side dishes on the menu you can order.

Do they take reservation for a large party?

I had a party of 8 And they said no. But you can go in early to hold your spot

Does this place have "all-you-can-eat" option?? And if so how much is lunch?

No, its not all you can eat. If it were, it would probably lower the quality of the meat.

If you are looking for your "halmoni's" (grandma in Korean) authentic, homemade, caring, handmade flavors and can ignore the no-frills, don't -care, terrible location and zero curbside appeal, this is your place. Imagine going to an old neighborhood Korean home where the kimchee to the broths and banchan are made with love. The scissors are sharp so you can easily cut the perfectly fermented, primly pickled kimchee and the cucumbers (oi kimchee) are fresh and the beef broth deeply steeped and rich with flavor. My favorite chicken soup tasted and looked very very very much like pre-packaged broths (similar to the one I buy at Hmart), rather than the authentic, made-from-scratch meals I'm used to here. The tonkutsu pork also tasted and looked like packaged fried food. The staff was incredibly friendly, though I personally felt a bit over-served and monitored to the point of being uncomfortable. That said, my friend loved the constant attention from the servers. I'm leaving this feedback constructively because I genuinely love coming here and hope the kitchen improves!

Hey, y'all…read more Y'all... I guess I've been living under a rock because I'm just now finding out about Cheongdam Food Hall! Where have I been?! Anywhoddles I ordered from Eki Ramen, and when I tell y'all this ramen was RAMENING! Aka delicious. Aka... fire I ordered the Black Garlic Ramen, and as you can see from the menu, it was only $12.95. I added an extra egg, extra pork belly, and extra black garlic oil because... why not? Anywhoddles with the extra "trimmings" it came to $18 dollars. Let's get back to the review Now lean in so I can tell y'all about this broth. It tasted authentic to me. It was rich, velvety, silky smooth, creamy without being heavy, and bursting with savory goodness. Every sip had me closing my eyes The noodles had the perfect bite--not too soft and not too firm. The pork belly was tender, flavorful, and had just the right amount of char around the edges. And those eggs? Whew! Perfectly jammy with that beautiful golden yolk. So... if you're a ramen lover--or if you've been thinking about trying ramen for the first time--I highly recommend giving Eki Ramen a try. And while you're there, take your time and explore Cheongdam Food Hall because there are plenty of other restaurants waiting to be discovered. Until next time... y'all already know what time it is! I'll be doing a boomerang back to this spot because there are way too many restaurants in this food hall for me to stop at just one!

Inside is bright, clean, and inviting with a relaxing atmosphere, great seating, and good music. Ambience is casual and laid back with sounds of instrumental jazz playing in the background, setting a vibe that's so peaceful and calm. I enjoy kimbap, it's always a great option for light, healthy, and nutritious snack, has fresh ingredients, a generous portion, and is very filling! I had Chamchi Kimbap ($12.99) which is delicious with tuna mayo packed with carrots, egg, veggie root, spinach, and pickled radish, so good! Japchae Fried Mandu (4 pieces, $10.99) is also good! Dumpling is fried light and crispy, it's filled with stir-fried glass noodles and veggies, and served with a tasty dipping sauce, yum! The owner makes good Cappuccino ($3.99), it's delightful and she adds a lovely sweetness topped with milk foam, really good! Service is wonderful and exceptional! Everyone in the staff, especially the owner is very kind, attentive, friendly, and welcoming. The cafe has a nice cozy vibe and is family-friendly, they make good food and yummy drinks!
