    Truffle fries.... This was $10.....

Paid $10 for what felt like a handful of fries. Smelled like truffle oil heaven, but the portion size was laughable. The flavor was decent, but for that price, I expected more than a small paper cup's worth. Bottom line: Great aroma, underwhelming portion, not worth the splurge.

I was served raw chicken, i ordered from door dash. I use to love this place back when they first opened. but it has become a bit pricey. I ate 4 chickens before realizing that it tasted funny and started picking at some of them and realized it was raw & undercooked!

Been here several times since they first opened in Lowell. A dimly lit place with a bar to watch sports, and several booths and tables to accompany parties or dates. When it comes to crispy and spicy fried chicken, this is the spot to go. Granted they had their years when the spice was not up to par, but lately everything is starting to taste really well, just like during their grand opening. The chicken is so crispy, yet so juicy, and the spicy is spicing. I wasn't a fan of their fried rice before, but it was bussing that night. It's not like Chinese fried rice where the grains don't stick to each other, but like most Korean rice dishes, the rice is moist and mushy and just exerts flavor better. The takoyaki is my favorite! The sauce is zesty and sweet, mixed with the soft and oozy texture of the takoyaki balls, and octopus legs is just perfection. I like that our waitress didn't check up on us every 5 mins, so we were able to gobble up food and converse with each other for an ample amount of time. She has a good sense of when we're almost finished eating. Overall, it's nice to have Bonchon nearby.

I never heard of this chain before, on a recent trip to the area I passed this place on the way in and picked it as my dinner joint after a Yelp search. It's fun food and wow the portions are generous. Delicious fresh and creative is a good way to describe Bonchon. I will definitely hit one any opportunity I can. This particular joint had a wonderful friendly staff, the place itself is a neat location and they even have a bar. Nothing goes better with spicy crispy loaded fries like a cold beer. Enjoy!!!

I loveee their pork belly buns! It comes with 3 per order and I am just in love!! The meat is so juicy and soft and the cole slaw mixture they put inside it goes perfectly together. Definitely my favorite place for pork belly buns! The Korean fried chicken with soy garlic flavor were so juicy and crispy. They were drumsticks and they were big! I liked how the skin stayed on with the drum stick and didn't fall apart after one bite. Definitely my favorite 2 items from here!

Love bon chon it never disappoints. We got the spicy chicken which had a perfect balance of flavor and the chicken was nice and crispy but then coating. The fried rice was flavorful. But the tacos... those are THE BEST. The spicy chicken mixed with the slaw was a perfect combo. Shrimp shumai was like any other nothing special. The drinks ehre are also delicious and strong.

Love the wings and the convenience of not having to go to Cambridge to order. This place is not as good as Cambridge and former Brighton (closed) location. Seems like they don't make their fried chicken as Cambridge locations. I still enjoy it but I know I'm missing out on the "real" bon chon ck wings. I don't bother ordering anything else. My husband and sister usually gets the tteok-bokki.

We mainly come to Bonchon Lowell for the Salmon Avocado ball. We've never seen this item on other bonchon locations' menus before and it is definitely a great item. It's crunchy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The sauces they used had a lot of great umami flavor. Another dish we tried was the bulgogi friend rice where the meat was chopped up into small pieces which allowed the bulgogi flavor to be in every bite we had. It was a different way of making fried rice and we enjoyed it, not to mention the portion was very big. The wings were pretty decent but I have seen better wings in other locations/chains. The only dish we didn't like as much was the ttekbokki, it was pretty spicy but the sauce seemed more watery than I've had at other places and didn't stick to the rice cakes as much. The salmon avocado ball is what we came back for but it is pretty pricey for an appetizer. Overall the service was good, our waitress was very nice and it wasn't as busy when we visited so it wasn't too loud.

Take out orders were done haphazardly, food seemed to be thrown into the container and the food were bland. I have not gone back since.

It was also, apparently, less salty, presumably for the same reason. The amount of kimchi in the "sample" was so plentiful as to almost fill up the mini cup we used for takeout. They have a large selection of vegetarian and vegan food, as well as some gluten free items, though they lack the staff and kitchen size to accommodate celiacs, so it's really more of use for people on elimination diets or with poor digestive capabilities. The owner had prior training in Italian cuisine, which is the reason such food is on the menu, and while neither my father nor I had occasion to try it, it is apparently a passion of the chef's, and the shared discussion of their mutual interest in Italian cooking may be the reason my father was given a free "sample" of kimchi, which was larger than the paid order of kimchi at most other restaurants. The food portions, in general, are massive, with the leftovers of an order of wonton soup not fitting in a to-go canister, with other orders being similarly large. Their jasmine tea is unusual for its slight fruity flavor, and ability to "overbrew" without becoming bitter, instead maintaining its delicate flavor. Each table has condiments, which in addition to including the "normal" chili crisp, and fish sauce often found at Asian restaurants that provide table condiments, have the more western pepper grinder, as well as garlic salt. Curiously, there is no "normal" salt as often found at western restaurants, though bottles of sriracha are found at every table. Perhaps the garlic salt and sriracha are the restaurant's "unique twist"?

Still excellent, still sweet (though now more noticeably spicy too), and still important to remind that the dishes here are not necessarily attempting authentic cuisine of specific regions (even though specific dishes are named), but more of a freestyle approach. The wings have improved in recent visits. More plump, more crisp, more juice, more flavor. Still good value. Still a little weak on the service (more about being young, unfocused and lacking initiative than anything approaching rudeness). Still highly recommended.

This place is none of those things---the interior is simple and dare I say, well worn. But that's the whole point, you feel like you're in an authentic immigrant family restaurant, which it appears to be---a very very sweet and kind lady seems to be the only server in this place (we went on a weeknight, so maybe on a Friday/Sat/Sun it's more crowded and there are more staff) and her husband mans the cash register by the door. Old school! Food is solid and authentic, and refreshingly gimmick-free. What you see is what you get. Shockingly, the prices are about the same as in the Korean places in the food court at H-Mart down the road in Burlington...but you get more and better quality food! And they don't appear to have an alcohol license, which is kind of a good thing because they don't try to upsell you with their drink menu, which in Asian restaurants tend to be pretty lousy mass-market water-beers (sometimes just with Asian labels on similar swill) at craft-beer prices anyhow. Bimbibap was quite unique: rice was served on a separate bowl, while the actual main bowl was full of veggies and meat and egg. Very nice contrast to most places' bimbibap being 80% rice and 20% veggies/meat. Came with a small side of miso soup. UPDATE, one week later: Came back to try out the Korean BBQ. For 3 people, we ordered 3 of the BBQ menu items, came out to a reasonable $100 or so before tip since we just had the complimentary toasted brown rice tea (hyeonmi-cha) and ice water. It was just the right amount of food for an evening meal (more voractious eaters would probably want an additional 1-2 dishes) and the lady came to our table to cook the food for us, ensuring that nothing would be overcooked. The short rib was easily the best, followed by the bulgogi, and the squid with pork belly and veggies was pretty good not great (it was interestingly cooked over the open flame on a square of aluminum foil). Everything was perfectly marinated, tender and juicy. Ventilation was good, so our clothes did not reek of roasted meat afterwards---some places have weak fans, this one did not. Service was again impeccable, gracious and speedy...very nice warm vibes, not cold or perfunctory like some places. Will definitely be coming back for more!
