The highly anticipated asian/wings restaurant is finally here! Finally, I don't have to sit in Boston traffic just to sit in a line at Bon Chon for my chicken fix! Expect the wait time to be crazy for a while, the location is a little small. Not a lot of people know about it being open yet because it's been very vague regarding updates over the past year. When visiting Bon Chon, always get the spicy wings (or if you're a wimpy kid get the garlic soy). The wings here are the same as other locations, which is pretty much the only reason why people go to Bon Chon anyways. Be cautioned about the other dishes, and note that they do not have sushi. Would I rather go here instead of Boston for chicken? Absolutely. read more

I'm not sure why the ratings are so low but BonChon is bomb. I came in during lunch with a friend and ordered the lunch wings special. We both got 6 wings, one side dish each and also the salmon ball. Our server was wonderful and attentive but our food took a while to come out. Our salmon ball came out much later than our wings. Anyways, I was pleasantly surprised at how flavorful and crispy their chicken was. I had the soy garlic and spicy wings and they were both delicious. The salmon ball tasted and looked like a giant sushi roll - layers and layers of flavor. We devoured everything. I've only been here once but I'm dying to go back and try their more Korean dishes. Once I try BonChon a few more times, I can decide if they deserve the five stars or not. read more

Wings are delicious, obviously. Crispy salmon salad is also yum. The coleslaw is off, there's a strange aftertaste of aspartame. Why not just use regular sugar? The spicy rice cake appetizer had mozzarella cheese on top, which actually tasted good! The highlight of the dish was the 2 pieces of fried noodles wrapped in seaweed (meant as an accent?). I came in at 5pm for a to-go order (no one delivers to Centralville... womp womp). There were a few girls at the counter and they all seemed less enthused to take my order. Only the man- maybe the manager?- seemed willing to assist me. I ordered okonomiyaki, small order of half/half wings and a small half/half combo. With tip, this ended up costing me $52. The wings and drumsticks were ok and the seafood okonomiyaki was crispy and greasy. Definitely an upgrade from the last time I was here. read more

Often met with a "what's your problem" attitude when questioned why the food is significantly past the pick up time. Same reception was given to other customers. It was cold and we didn't feel like bundling up to brace the frigid winter weather so I browsed the Foodler website to scope out the menus of local restaurants. I was surprised to see that Bonchon in Lowell was on the list. We've only eaten at the restaurant but never actually requested door to door service. I called the restaurant to confirm the information on the Foodler website was accurate and the girl on the other end advised that the current delivery time was 45 mins to an hr. I was OK with that. I skimmed the menu, I knew we had to get the staple Bonchon Chicken but I wanted excite my taste buds and try a few different things from the menu. I placed the order at 9:33 PM and the restaurant confirmed it at 9:45 PM. ( I got a Google email notification). Foodler's estimated delivery time was 10:20 but I remember the girl saying it could be an hour. I called the restaurant to make sure they got the order and told the girl to tell the driver to use the side door due to our weather proofed front door. It's 10:20, no food. It's 10:30, still no food. It's been almost an hours. Alright, it's already 10:40, should I call to follow up? Finally at 10:46 PM, I hear the doorbell ring and a knock on my FRONT door, It's the delivery guy. I tell him to go to my side door and asked him if he ever got the message and he responded that the girl never told him anything. I tip him anyway and he's off on his way. Despite the food being wrapped in heavy duty aluminum foil, it was already room temperature. No, it's not because I was taking pictures of it. I actually touched the chicken with my fingers and it was not hot.. not even the slightest bit warm. The food was neatly packaged and disposable chopsticks, spoons, napkins and wet wipes were included in the bag. I was too lazy to reheat the food and expected an unsatisfying meal, To my surprise, everything was really good. *Disclaimer, I may have been ravenous by then.* The chicken house fried rice was really fragrant and flavorful. It was reminiscent of a Thai basil fried rice. The price was inline with many other local restaurants nearby. I wished they packed us a side of hot sauce or hot chili oil to sprinkle on the rice for extra heat. Of course, you can't go wrong with the Bonchon chicken. We went with the small combo with both soy garlic and hot sauce(6 pcs wings and 3 pcs of the larger drums). Although it was not warm, it was still crunchy and good. The chicken was served with its usual side of colesalw and refreshing pickled daikon (white radish) to cool the mouth. I really wanted jap chae noodles or the bim bim bap but I forced myself to try something new. The Bulldak looked promising, the menu described it as "Sir fried spicy chicken with rice cakes topped with scallion and cheese." At a quick glimpse, the Korean dish looked like an Italian American favorite, baked ziti. My original though was, Korean food + cheese? I was skeptical. The dish was very interesting, I couldn't decide if tasted more Korean, Chinese or even Indian! The savory dish had a kick to it. It sure was spicy and fiery! The rice cakes resembled al dente pasta. After a few nibbles, I decided I really liked it. It took a bit to get used to the different flavors and textures of the dish. We also got a small box of white rice and I assume it went with the Bulldak. We liked the food and will definitely eat at the restaurant again, I'm not sure if we will go the delivery route. read more

You can order online on grubhub.com, I find it more convenient to do so. $3 for delivery and $25 minimum purchase. My first time ordering from there so I got the half & half wings. One flavor was garlic sauce (I believe) and the other one was hot sauce. The hot sauce wings were incredible! It was spicy good. I should of got that instead of doing half&half. I really don't like the garlic sauce, it has no flavor whatsoever. I think the wings were a bit expensive. (About $1 each) I also got the seaweed salad, nothing special, it's just seaweed salad but good proportion though. I also got white rice....that taste like plain white rice. White rice obviously have no flavor so not much to say about that. I would recommend their spicy wings though, I like the flavor more than Simply Khmer spicy wings. That is all. Thanks for reading. We finally decided to try BonChon after passing by the BonChon in Allston so often and seeing how crowded it always was. I didn't have a high expectation of this place since I'm not crazy over fried chicken wings but my goodness was I in for a treat! We arrived around lunch time and were seated in a booth by the window. The menu was small and simple so it was easy to scan through everything. We ordered the (Sm) wings combo with half Soy Garlic and half mild spicy, and also the Crispy Salmon Salad. Soy Garlic Wings: SO delicious! Loved the light crispy texture and the tender meat was so flavorful. The Soy Garlic sauce? Oh My God I could just use it as a dipping sauce everyday on everything! Mild Spicy Wings: These were definitely not mild. Way too spicy for me to enjoy it, I took one bite and had to gulp down a whole glass of water. I have been to this place twice- both were takeout. 1st time I was waiting in the store for 50 min. 2nd time I learned my lesson and ordered online 50 min ahead. I love the presentation and includes a cast iron bowl that cooks and keeps the food hot/warm Crispy Salmon Salad- Amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The food is great, but if you're hungry, you'll have to suffer through the hunger pangs. The service is very slow. I went there 9:30pm the dining room was half full. And we had to wait about 15minutes to be seated. This is because the tables weren't cleared. I get it, it was busy and you just got slammed. I'm saying the recovery was slow. We get seated. The waitress/service was slow and at times we could not find her for 5-10 minutes and when we did, it was only to serve 1 person at a time and she didn't once look over at the other tables she was assigned to. Here's my takeout/delivery review: I usually order to go/delivery. Delivery fee is pricey but ya girl gotta treat herself sometimes right? The chicken is amazing. That soy garlic sauce is goddamn delicious. The spicy wings are too GODDAMN hot for me to handle haha, ordered it once, never again. They sometimes give you free pickled radish (right? Idk its white cubes) or cole slaw (dont even bother with that) and I think it's a waste. Save ya money bon chon, no one eats that stuff!! Their fries are good if fresh. I think their fries is one of the best kinds of fries, if fresh like I said before. I think having the food in boxes is ok, but in a plastic bag? It gets all soggy. Still, that chicken is finger lickin good. Here's my eat-in review: Don't bother eating in. Just order the food, take out, and eat at home. The waitresses suck (haven't had a male waiter) and don't return to make sure how you're doing. Idk if they are low on staff or what. I waited for a drink for the ill longest time and they never came to refill my drink so I was sipping on my partners drink. It was lemonade or something like that. It tasted very watery too. Obviously its watery no pun intended, but I needed some more flavor in my drink people!! We waited a long while after we were done with our food for the waitress to come.. These are not the reason I write this review. The reason is, people who also ordered online and whose pick up time is after me are all left before me. 3 Stars for this establishment is a understatement. The pork buns, although a little pricey for only three are magnificent. The chicken... thank God for chicken.. is bursting with flavor, crispy on the outside, with spicy goodness on the inside. So let me start off by saying that the food here is NOT the problem. My problem is that I've come here twice within the past month and the servers are terrible. They don't return to make sure you're doing okay or ask if you might actually need something. And on BOTH occasions, they messed up my order. Great for the chicken wings! I don't know how these wings stay crispy after being refrigerated, but I enjoy them. I love spicy food and their spice definitely has a strong kick! Usually when I order them, I'll get half regular and half soy garlic. Good place to meet with friends for beverages, I love that they have soju. read more

Had their Bimbimbap this evening. This dish is AWESOME!! The atmosphere was good and the food was better. They could turn down the cold air blowing from their overhead fans but other than that everything was excellent. Nara was extremely nice offering me ice water while waiting for friends to show up. I'll definitely be back there again. Maybe I'll try their gorgeous chicken wings as they looked awesome on other peoples dishes. The price point is a bit higher than other locales but I'd say the food so far has been worth it. Delicious food. Beef udon noodle soup was tasty and noodles and broth packaged separately which was great for maintaining noodle integrity. Chicken Katsu was crispy and good sweet sauce with hint of spice. I got wing combo spicy and sweet, sauces were great chicken a little overcooked, making the wings dry, legs had enough fat to keep moist. They were out of pork buns and I recommend ordering shu mai crispy instead of steamed- the texture was a little mushy. Rice was cooked perfectly. Would definitely recommend. read more

Ordered 20 piece chicken wings for takeout online. The order was ready fairly quickly and a little earlier than they said. The chicken was packaged well and was crispy, however it was basically flavorless. We've been waiting over THREE HOURS for $90 worth of food for delivery. The delivery time said it would be here in 90-100 minutes. We've waited almost double that. At 2 hours we called and she said "only a few more minutes they should arrive." Then at 2.5 hours we called again and they said "only a few more minutes." Now we're at three hours. Worst service ever. UPDATE: It never arrived. I called again with a grand total 3.5 hours of waiting. They had no excuse or apology. They were sassy. I asked for a refund. Starving. Just picked up an order from BonChon one Girl not wearing a mask at the desk and the other one wearing it under her nose.

I went to this location last night and the service was really prompt and great. They have a large bar and parking lot compared to the other locations which is nice. We moved our reservations for 8 people twice and they were very accommodating. The space is large.We ordered lychee soju, a mango mai tai and tsing tao beer. All tasted good. The lychee soju wasn't that strong. For the food we ordered the salmon ball, fried shrimp shumai, bulgogi tacos, large combo wings with soy garlic and spicy, fries, bibimbap, Cole slaw and rice. The wings were tasty and moist. The last time I went to the Allston location, my wings were dry. I was pleasantly surprised by the reading/sauce. It tasted slightly different but I enjoyed it. The salmon ball was just as I remembered chunks of salmon outside with a cucumber/imitation crab salad inside. It was probably an hour and fifteen minute drive but i thoroughly enjoyed it. They don't serve sushi at this location which is why I took off a star. read more

Local Bon Chon. I have to mention that the only thing I have eaten at Bon Chon is their SOY GARLIC CHICKEN TENDERS, rice and french fries. This is their most common sauce. It taste so delicious. Kind of pricey in general because you have to order rice and chicken separately but very worth it. If you go during lunch hours (before 2pm) you can actually get 8 piece chicken with a side for about $8. can't beat that deal! Full bar, nice staff, great music. read more
