The food here is really great especially if you are looking for something different and new to try. I ordered Bonchon to go and it was the first time we've been here. It was on the spendy side but we wanted to try an assortment of menu items! I recommend getting the fried chicken! The regular spice level was spicy and the hot was hot! Haha not for baby mouths. First time also? Try the wing/drumstick combo. We actually preferred the drumsticks... which I was surprised of! The chicken is crispy on the outside and juicy inside! Yummy flavor too. For sides we tried the coleslaw and radish. These are to help with the cool down of your mouth from the spice. I preferred the radishes. It added a really nice new level of flavors when eating with the chicken. So good. We also ordered the fried rice and bulgogi. The fried rice was good but not super crave-worthy. The bulgogi was a nice balance of flavor and spice. It has a kick. All and all... it was fun to try a new place but a little spendy for a chain. May get again in the future. read more

i'm not sure where the flavors at with the plain fried chicken... just tastes like fried chicken with no seasoning not even a little salt.. the crunch is there though! the hot flavor had medium kick and tasted a little sweet. i like my pickled stuff to be more acidic than sweet so the pickled radish wasn't for me. the fries were soggy when my order was delivered but tasted like regular decent fries. i used to like bonchon but the last few times i've had it has been really disappointing. read more

A nice little addition to the Maple Grove food scene. They have a lot of dishes to try. Not quite fast casual, but almost not quite full-on sit down meal either. On this visit, I had the combo fried chicken (Drummies and wings). I liked the style, but the Soy Garlic flavor was relatively bland. The spicy was solid. I also had the pork buns (because how can you not?). They were good, but the combination of flavor took away from the actual pork itself a little too much. We stopped in to Bonchon's Maple Grove location and I have to say for a big chain, these folks make pretty good grub. We ordered Half & Half Wings, Spicy Potstickers, Chicken Katsu, Buldak, and sides of coleslaw. Everything was tasty but the chicken is definitely where it's at. Each piece is covered in sauce but loses none of its crispy crunch. There's real heat in that spicy sauce too - if you only do "Midwest hot" be forewarned and consider the soy garlic sauce. read more

I've been to a few Bonchon locations, but this was my first time at Maple Grove with a friend for brunch. We loved it! The staff were super friendly and made our experience awesome. When at Bonchon, get the fried chicken! I usually go for the combo, which means both wings and drummies, and get half-and-half sauce, which means half is spicy and half is garlic. You can get just wings or just drummies, but I prefer the combo - mixing it up a bit :) The wings are my favorite because of their flavor. The chicken is so juicy and the outside is perfectly crispy. Tried this place for the first time tonight and it was pretty good. My only complaint is based off the pictures I've been looking at, you seem to get bigger portions if you order there and sit down rather than takeout which isn't cool. The Bulgogi was light, it looks half the size of what you get for dine in. for $22 (doordash price) they should fill the container up more, its not like the white rice it comes with is breaking the bank for them, but it tasted good. Fried Rice was delicious especially after I added my side of Kimchi to it, but you'll need a microscope to find the portion of meat they add to it (I chose spicy chicken.) 3/5. This place was on my radar for a while but we never went. Finally brought the family (3 kids, 2 adults) and it was a hit, even for our picky picky eater! We ordered a medium chicken combo, with half and half of each flavor. 2 orders of chicken fried rice and 1 order of pork bun. Everything was DELICIOUS! The hot chicken was pretty hot, and I probably would skip that next time- not that it was bad, it was just past my threshold of heat. The pork bun almost caused a divorce for us adults fighting over the last one (3 to an order) . Service was great, everyone was kind and quick. Food came out quick. Bonchon has become a frequent Friday night favorite for us. Big, juicy crispy wings make everyone in my family happy. I particularly love the seasoned fries and the pork buns are OMG yummy. I think we've almost worked our way through their whole menu. We always end up with wings but have also really enjoyed the Takoyaki, chicken Katsu and Bulgogi. A years ago, I would give this restaurant 4 or 5 stars. Recently, the quality of the fried chicken has been very disappointing. Last time we went, the chicken wings flavor soy garlic is overly salty and very soggy. There is absolutely no crunch. I ordered take out twice both times via postmates (online)-pickup. My experience both times went well. I like that you can track the progress. Due to Covid-19 at the time I ordered, the only option was take out. They only had a small area open to pick up & it's a little hard to tell if other customers are inside waiting unless you go in, but I will say they had everything ready so it was super quick. The tiny view I did get of the inside of the restaurant, it was clean and the decor was mostly the same as the other locations. This location seemed a little bigger than the uptown location. My go to order is wings half and half (half spicy, half soy garlic) and fries (also comes with a side - which I usually just get coleslaw) with spicy mayo. The food was good, despite the super greasy paper bag the fries were in, I thought they were going to be soggy but they were actually still crispy and good - same with the chicken. Pretty upset. I come eat here pretty often. My 3 year old son ate this raw chicken. Didn't notice it was raw until he was almost done with it. Told the waiter but she only offer to remake a new batch. At this point I don't even want a new batch. I'm sick to my stomach. My child will probably get food poisoning after eating this.
