Not your traditional style, Korean wings, super crispy with a very generous amount of meat. Great flavor and stays hot on your to-go order. Placed the request over the phone and it was ready right when we arrived. Very clean space with tables to sit at if you choose to dine in. Drink case and fountain soda available. Packaging was well done all except for the fries. Fries came in a bag and once we opened the food they were soft and had lost its crisp texture. Very friendly staff!

This small bag with barely any fries in is $8!!! Yes $8!!! This is a LARGE BTW! you can get a burger for $8 this is honestly ridiculous! We bought 50 wings it should come with a side of fries for goodness sake!

I just found out that this branch is the only one that offers MEALS. Meaning whatever you order, just make it a meal and it will come sides and drinks. But other branches dont do this. Service is always great. Especially when Zach is there! The dining area is a bit smaller, limited number of seating. But still ok. This is one of our regular place to go on Monday nights because they are open later than most places. They will be open later on weekends so it would be good for late night snackin! Korean donuts is a MUST TRY! Happy eating!!!!

Spicy Wings "6 piece"... because there were only 5. ‍

OMG. Avoid and go to Glenview location! I love Bonchon. Loved it in NY, loved it in Chinatown , loved it in Glenview. But this Skokie franchise location isn't up to the standards. I'm not usually a 1-star reviewer.... A few things wrong with my order. 1. I ordered a 6 piece. I got 5. Wtf. See the pic. 2. There's clearly a half-ass tossing job. Lots of sauceless spots on the chicken. I've never had this issue at other places. Again - pic. 3. It was COLD inside! The chicken flats wouldn't even come off the wing. It was rubbery! So bad! See below. * Clearly the wings are either frozen or prepared in advance and left to sit before tossing. They are NOT made to order. I'm comparing this to Glenview because once I ordered pickup and was several minutes late, and they wouldn't serve me my order because by then it was soggy and they would only serve it fresh. That location def cooks wings to order. * I ordered at 11:14 and it was done in about 16 minutes (see the email). We picked them up on time and by the time we got home and ate they were room temp if not fridge temp inside. Super suspicious! My wife got sick the first time we ate here (this is out 2nd) and now I'm wondering if this is why. Cold and Undercooked?! * Crazy thing is our fries were piping hot. So obviously only one thing was made to order. It was not the chicken. I am not going here or giving this one another try again. I do not recommend it and I think anyone who wants good Bonchon should go to a different location. And that's because I want you to enjoy your food. PS - a bad to go order is the worst feeling because you're not at the restaurant to fix it. ‍

Excellent Chicken Super crispy

I love Bonchon Chicken Wings. I first had them in Manila about 8 years ago @ The Mall of Asia (MOA). When I came back to Chicago I checked Yelp for a Chicago location. At the time there wasn't a Bonchon in Chicago. At the time I found one in New York. The closet thing I found at the time was Crisp @ 2940 N Broadway. (Excellent chicken wing.). Bonchon fries their wing @ a low heat, cooled, and then fried again at a higher temperature. "It makes the outside really craveable and crunchy and keeps the inside really moist,". I love the garlic Parmesan & soy garlic wings. Bonchon double fries their wings making them super crunchy. They mix potato starch w/flour. The chicken wings I had in MOA were probably the b at wings I have ever eaten. Unfortunately subsequent trips the Philippines & the ones in Chicago & Subarus are very good but I have never been able to find the level of the wings I had the first time in the Philippines @ MOA. They're are fairly expensive but they do provide an excellent product & definitely worth trying. They now have multiple locations in Chicago in Chinatown, on Division Street, on Touhy in Skokie, Naperville, Aurora & Bolingbrook. If you like fried chicken this is among the best I have tried. Following a disappointing experience with carryout from Bonchon in Glenview, I was not so eager to dine here. But the Skokie restaurant is much closer to home and my Missus and her sis wanted to give it a go, so I was outvoted. This location is primarily carryout, but there are a few tables for those who would rather dine in. The décor is bright, cheerful and clean. The kitchen is Zabiha Halal - they do not serve pork. The cashier who took our order was pleasant and most helpful, and our food arrived in a matter of minutes. My Missus enjoyed her japchae (glass noodles stir-fried with meat and veggies). Her sis had spicy chicken wings (rather incendiary but she is okay with heat) with a side of edamame. I had a fried chicken combo (4 wings + 2 drumsticks) brushed with soy garlic sauce. The wings were very good but the drumsticks had been prepared earlier and were neither piping hot nor juicy. Extra sauce might have helped but the only condiment they put out is tomato ketchup (Ottogi, perhaps?). Thumbs down on the onion rings. Although freshly prepared and crunchy, they were 80% breading-to-20% onion and the dominant flavor was fryer oil. Menu prices are north of what I would consider to be a good value for fast-casual chow. Quite honestly, I have experienced better Korean fried chicken spots in the area. Update: Bonchon's Customer Service responded soon after I posted the above review (scroll down to see their message). I promptly replied but never heard back from them (ditto my experience with the Glenview Bonchon). Businesses that offer to "make things right" but neglect to follow through are both deceptive and indifferent about customer retention. I've adjusted the star rating accordingly.

I'm a big fan of Bonchon's Korean Fried Chicken. You want crispy fried chicken? Bonchon double fries it so it is a crispy, crackly crust, not breaded. Honestly, it's almost like the crust of a crème brûlée. You choose Soy Garlic, Spicy or Half & Half sauce. I like the Soy Garlic -- just enough sweet and salty and not overly garlicky. It's sticky, messy, almost like candy and it's soooooooooo gooooooood! I had to keep wiping my hands (the pros eat Korean wings with a plastic glove) and I wiped off all of my makeup. (I should have gotten this to go). This is served with a complimentary side of pickled radish or coleslaw. This small location has a few tables and you order at the counter and they bring out your food. It look less than five minutes but the chicken was not piping hot. Still I loved it! The meat is zabiha or halal if that is important to you. There's another location in Glenview but pop in here! It was not overly busy at this location.

Fantastic service, friendly and kind. Incredible fried chicken, bulgogi japchae and bulgogi fries. This is the only halal location of bonchon. The chicken wings and legs were alarmingly huge in size, but I'm not complaining!

After seeing Bonchon open, I was super excited about finally getting here. Depending which direction you're going, this is not the most convenient plaza to get in or out of, but there is plenty of parking. I stopped by here around 6pm on a Saturday for a take out order for two. The store front is well lit, and walking in the space is clean and bright. I love the artwork on the front wall. Unfortunately, it's been a long time since I've had this poor of a customer service experience. I try very much to be kind, and understanding, of service industry workers, but the two working just were absolutely miserable. Walking up to the register, I wasn't greeted. I said hello with a smile and asked how she was. She didn't not answer and asked what I wanted. There was one customer in the restaurant, already ordered and waiting for their food. I apologized as it took me a minute to read the menus on the wall letting her know it was my first time in. Instead of taking the opportunity to offer suggestions, or any thing else, she just stared at me. It was actually pretty uncomfortable. I ordered the Korean tacos with spicy chicken and seasoned fries, and an order of the Korean fried rice with Bulgogi beef. I was very surprised at how long it took for the food to come out from a counter service restaurant with no other orders, although I don't mind a wait for quality food. My order did come out packed really nicely in plastic Togo boxes, all stacked nicely in a bag. I would definitely feel comfortable ordering delivery with hoe they package their Togo orders. I live only a few minutes away, and the food was still plenty hot when I got home. I was a little surprised at the pool of sauce in the tacos, and the spicy chicken is definitely very spicy. They were fresh tasting, flavorful, and delicious. Three tacos come in the serving, which was plenty. The fried rice was actually delicious, as well. The description says it comes with a fried egg on top and you can see in the photos mine did not. That was disappointing, but I would still order it again. This is not a place I will likely go to dine in, or necessarily order in store for takeout. The service experience was poor enough for me that I'm not interested in that when there are so many amazing local options with great service. I would consider ordering if I saw them on Uber Eats and it sounded good, because the food quality was surprisingly top tier.

Overpriced and underwhelming franchised Korean KFC with slow lackluster service. Insult to Korean spicy honey chicken wings and drumsticks made from baby chickens? Not about paying a dollar a wing for 2 slivers of meat. It's anti-Korean thrift. Wtf is wrong with this picture...ugh

The food here is very good and workers were very polite. The inside was very modern and clean as supposed to. I recommend getting the strips and fries because its a good combo and cheap. The deals for food is affordable. Overall I enjoyed eating here.

Quite fantastic, loaded with super fresh leaves that cook down into the wok in 10 minutes and if you are in the know, put off the rice until the very end when, if you eat nearly almost all of it, leaving a scrimp of meat and leaf and a few tablespoons of broth, ask for the kimchi rice, which the staff will prepare at your table with the namesake and an egg. You will feel healthy. If goat is not your thing, the seafood pancakes with green onions are a treat, the chap chae is yum-yum time, and the dol sot bib bim bop is a deep satisfier. I love the skinny little pike makerels (Kkong Chi Gui), especially for lunch. The service is excellent though causal, no pressure. It is often busy with every table eating one of the stews. And, if you are lucky, go in the early afternoon, the place is yours with Chilly Willy and Tom And Jerry cartoons. Tops on my list for overall comfort, taste, cozy, causal dining. Banchan a plenty.
