It's true. My little dog is a tramp. She sluts it up on the streets, in the parks and on her walks. Because of her slutty ways, she picked up a doggy STD. Okay, okay, maybe it's not a traditional STD, but she did contract the doggy HPV virus from another dog. I took my pooch into Columbus Circle Veterinary Hospital because I noticed a large growth on her paw. Of course I thought it was a tumor, but Dr. Walsh assured me it was just a plain ol' wart. I really liked this place because Dr. Walsh is the only Dr. that works there. We sat in the exam room for at least 20 minutes while she played with Zoey and examined her. She asked a million questions about her diet and exercise. The prices weren't too crazy. Definitely expensive, but not out of line with other vets. I generally take Zoey to the Humane Society for her annual visit and shots, but for emergency needs, I will be returning here. I called and got an appointment the next day, it's 4 blocks from where I live, I was seen immediately and the vet was super friendly. Unfortunately, at the Humane Society, you have to wait about 3 weeks for an appointment and when you go in, you generally have to wait about an hour to be seen.

Best vet in the area. Go here, not blue pearl unless it's an emergency or after hours. Super friendly and responsive with lots of expertise.

Walsh has been my older dog's vet for about 9 years, and I literally trust her with his life because he has a heart condition.

These are the people you want caring for your pets…read more I have been seeing the doctors here with my older rescue dog for years, but we just had our first health crisis last week. They got my boy in for an appointment quickly, treated him gently (he is wildly anxious in the best of circumstances), and they treated me gently, too (also wildly anxious in the best of circumstances). They were clear, communicative, and Dr. Macri ensured I fully understood what was happening with my little friend and what next steps were. A week later, Gomez is back to normal. I know what to watch for, and if (god forbid) anything else happens, I'll be heading back to MHPH with full confidence my dog will be treated with kindness, compassion, and the best veterinary care available. Thank you to the doc and the entire staff. We are so lucky to have you!

Our 4 very senior poodles have been remarkably healthy throughout their lives. Dr. Dan has been there for us during their senior years as we navigate typical aging vs actual illness and respectfully supports our choices for testing and vaccinating sparingly. Shout out to Joan at the front desk as well, she always makes the wait in the waiting room less stressful.

I had heard many good things about VEG and went in with high expectations. Unfortunately I was very…read moredisappointed by my experience. On Sunday evening, I took my senior Chihuahua to VEG Chelsea. A vet tech quickly took her weight and temperature but did not ask why we were there or take any other history. We were placed in a room in the back with a window to the main area where I could see lots of staff members. After 45 minutes of waiting with no updates or anyone checking on my dog, I went out to ask if they might have an estimate of when the vet might see us and was told a few minutes, but this proved not to be true and I watched that vet leave for the evening. Around the two-hour mark, I heard a staff member tell the new vet that everyone was triaged. I was surprised because no one had asked what brought us to the ER. I spoke with a staff member in the hallway and explained that we'd been waiting for two hours with no one taking my dog's history or checking on her, and I told her that I was disappointed by the lack of communication. Before we could discuss it, another staff member interrupted and told me that my dog's temperature and weight were the triage and she asked what I expected since one veterinarian had just left and another had just arrived. I understand that ERs have to prioritize certain patients, and I was not upset about waiting. However, I felt dismissed when I waited for two hours with no one providing us updates or checking on my dog. A little bit of communication would have gone a long way. I found the staff member's response to my concerns very condescending, and so my dog and I left. For those reasons, I would not recommend this ER and next time will visit one of the many others available in our city.
