First time Yelp reviewer here. Let me preface this by saying that I have worked in restaurants and as customers my fiancé and I are always extremely polite and friendly to people in the restaurant industry because we enjoy meeting people and understand how difficult it can be to work as a waiter or a bartender. But I feel the need to provide feedback about our experience tonight. My fiancé and I came in tonight, hoping to have a nice meal and some beers, which is a huge treat for us. The restaurant was a little crowded, but we sat at the bar so we could eat and watch the NFL Pro-Bowl. The bar had several seats available and the demand on the two bartenders should have been very manageable. We had to ask for beer menus, and after we ordered drinks I waited at least 20 minutes for my Blue Moon because they were waiting for clean glasses (other bar customers got their beers?). I didn't get an orange (on any of my beers), but that was minor. We were still open minded. Then we placed an order for an appetizer with the bartender, which we never received. We thought we saw him putting our order in on the POS... But never saw our appetizer (we did not get charged for the app). The other customers eating and drinking at the bar had placemats, silverware and napkins, (even bread and olive oil!) and never had to wait with an empty glass. Several times we waited to get the attention of the bartender to ask about our appetizer or to ask for more drinks, but we felt ignored and unwelcome. About an hour into our experience a runner brought out our entrees, which looked amazing, but we still didn't have silverware. At this point the second bartender had left for the night and one young woman was the only bartender, but we had to wait about five minutes for napkins and silverware while our food started to get cold. Our entrees were delicious, but that may be the only positive part of this experience. The couple next to us showed up 30 minutes after us at the bar had drinks, appetizers, and entrees and got their check and left 30 minutes before we did. We watched the bartender pour my fiancés Guiness into his glass with the top of the can sitting in the foam all the way up to the top. We decided not to order dessert and tried to get our check and get out of the restaurant as soon as we could. We spent about two hours at this place, and I feel that it was a waste of time and money. read more

First the positive. The Bang Bang shrimp were delicious as usual. However, over the last 2 years I've seen the service in this place go down progressively. I won't be returning. There was no one in the restaurant on a monday and it took a hostess 10 minutes to seat us. After that we waited another 15 minutes for a waiter to come to the table. She took our order for drinks and an appetizer and disappeared for 15 minutes. When she returned she only had half the drink order. She apologized and vanished again. 15 minutes after that the appetizer arrived with no drinks and no plates. After waiting 30 more minutes we all decided to leave since the waiter and our food/drinks were no where to be found. I tracked down a hostess and had her bring us the bill for few drinks and 1 appetizer that did come out. No apologies. What a waste of time. This place has become a joke. read more

What we have here is a typical middle of the road chain franchise restaurant with decent food, decor and service. The problem starts when try to be something they are not which is a fine dining restaurant. This is clearly a family joint, there were almost as many kids as adults on my recent trip. In hind sight the bar actually may be a better atmosphere for dining as it would cut down on the crying, screaming kid noises in the dining room. Having said that, the pretentiousness is off the charts here. From the sea salt on the table to the fancy smancy oil dip for the bread and the menu sauces you can't even pronounce, not to mention the small portions and the suprising high prices. With an average fish portion costing over $17.00, I would almost expect it to come stuffed with crab meat. The sides need serious work as they are deffinitely the weakest point of the menu. Pay the extra for the asparagus, you'll get what you pay for. The seafood is actually nicely cooked and seasoned for the most part. For top notch,freash fish, I would look for a local eatery with a good reputation and forget about Bonefish. read more

The services was really bad. The waitress didnt know what she's doing. My family and I waited for an hour for our food to come out. Finally when it came out, it was really nasty. Even though the manager apologized and gave us a free meal card for next time, Never again. read more

Had to go there to see what all the Rave was about. Had the Lunch Special with the Corn Chowder and the 2 Soft Taco's. Of course I started with the Bang Bang Shrimp. What an excellent dining experience! Will definitely be going back read more

We made reservations for NYE and the place was packed. We still had to wait 20 min for our table and couldn't even get to the bar to get started on drinkable apps. After we were seated, the bar service was super slow, the fried calamari wasn't crispy, we never got bread until we asked for it when they served our meals, my lemon butter salmon was just ok (not much flavor), my broccoli had some funky super salty sauce on it and my husband's steak was tough and charred. He didn't even finish his plate and ate something when we got home, which is very unusual. The macadamia nut brownie dessert was great, but since they give you forks to eat the ice cream, it dripped all over my dress. Waiter was no where to find to ask for a spoon. We usually really love eating there as we frequent the restaurant often, so I hope this isn't a sign of where their food/service is headed. read more

Somehow every time I come here I get sick. I don't know if it's the food or a coincidence. the bang bang shrimp tastes great but doesn't make you feel too great! I give them an extra star because their sangria is wonderful. If you come here, expect to be served by bel air high schoolers. read more

Went to dinner there a week ago. Ordered sashimi appetizer. It was brown and mushy. I've eaten enough sashimi in my lifetime to know that it's not supposed to have a grayish, brownish color and be mushy. I was told by the manager that it was flash frozen....that's not an excuse and i felt like she was trying to talk down to me and imply that i didn't know how it was supposed to be prepared. I order this appetizer every time i am there and I've eaten at this particular restaurant many, many times (Also doing drive by pickups for their key lime pie which is the best in the area) and this is the first time i've had an issue. Terrible place to eat. Overpriced and the order was wrong. I ordered an app WITHOUT peppers. It came out with peppers, they took it back and took off the peppers and brought it back out in 30 seconds. I asked if it was a new app and she said yes. First bite I took tasted just like red peppers. We will never go back again... read more

Wonderful & classy place to eat and have drinks at. Polite service and very nice atmosphere.

They know how to cook fish properly and the service is friendly. I would give this place 4 stars if it were safe to walk on their floors without fear of slipping. The floors were so ludicrously slippery that it was like walking on an ice rink. We mentioned this to 4 different staff members and received the same non-committal shrug as if to say "Yeah...we know...be careful." Not good. Callous disregard for the safety of patrons says a lot about a restaurant and the people that own it.. read more

Massive downhill slide. Came here for lunch last weekend. Not crowded at all. Hostess nowhere to be found. After standing there for five minutes alone was escorted to the table. The look on the faces of the people at the next table should have been a warning...clearly had been sitting there a long time without service. 20 minutes went by and no server. Finally asked the hostess, whose only response was "I'll see what I can do" and did nothing. Another 10 minutes went by without service and we walked out. Hostess' only reaction when we walked out was to tell us to have a nice day. Perhaps she and the wait staff don't know what pays their salaries? Ordered salmon that was so dry it tasted as if it had been sitting under a hot lamp for way too long and from the looks of the waiters standing around talking to one another rather than checking on peoples tables I am gonna guess that it was sitting back in the kitchen. For the price you are paying you should get better service read more

Came here with my wife and son to celebrate his graduation. The service was good and the drinks were by far some of the best that I've had. Now to the problem. The food was very lacking. I ordered the Lobster Stuffed Shrimp. The description on the menu for this item is "six jumbo shrimp stuffed with lobster, red peppers, lemon butter, served on a bed of creamed spinach". The shrimp were definitely not jumbo or stuffed with lobster. What I received were the cheap tasteless pre cooked small shrimps you can get from any supermarket and they were definitely not stuffed with lobster. They came with a "lobster sauce" that might of had enough lobster chunks in it to make a third of one shrimp with all of them put together. My wife was extremely disappointed since she was the one who had recommended going there. She had been there a year ago and said the difference in food quality from back then was like night and day. Would only recommend if you are just going to the bar area for drinks and not for the meals. read more

We stopped by this Bone Fish location after my daughters gymnastics meet on 03/07/15 around 5:45pm. We were told about an 45 min wait. We were ok to wait as we love this chain. Got seated in appropriate time. Can't remember our server's name but he was very nice and helpful. We had ordered an appetizer but our dinner salads came 1st. No problem, it happens. We asked our server the next time he came by and it came in minutes. But then... we waited and waited for our entrees. No problem once again because one of the managers came to the table and apologized and told us that dessert would be on the house. Yay! So then only half of our entrees came to the table and one of them was incorrect. Several minutes later a second manager came to our table and again apologized profusely and stated that their service tonight was embarrassing and inexcusable. And to top it all off the 2nd Manager comped our whole $127.00 meal!!!! Awesome job Bone Fish Grill! Not only did you take care of your customers but you did it without us even having to complain. I wish this particular restaurant was closer to where we live because they have the Best of the Best Customer service!!! read more

It is always busy it seems. Bang bang shrimp appetizer is tasty and enough for a meal for me. I have only ordered seafood dishes here, and they have all been good. Mixed drinks are also done well. read more

I hate to say this was not the best experience but it wasn't. My husband and I were both celebrating our birthdays (2 days apart) with friends. I Immediately noticed that our waiter seemed a little unprofessional. Reaching across us to get menus, plates, glasses, etc or expecting us to hand things to him. I personally don't want to touch a nasty plate to hand it to my waiter....that's not my job. We had to constantly ask for more water, ice tea, bread, etc. Our friend asked if a certain dish could be adjusted but the waiter couldn't answer or seemed to argue it couldn't be done. Finally he asked a supervisor and she said of course, no problem!!!! One of the specials I wanted was not available and one item on the menu I wanted was not available....this is a Saturday night, why have specials if they can't fulfill them. As far as our birthdays, nothing special was offered, not even happy birthday....oh well...I guess I'll go somewhere else next year. Oh I was going to do this on the Bonefish website but you had to have a 18 digit code off of our receipt that never came back to the table after we paid, so I couldn't do that either. read more

Not the usual good service tonight at this Bonefish Grill. Asked if there were two Moscatos to pick from and was told no. OK....no problem. In the past we have always been told about any specials, or given the specials menu if there is one, but this time we had to ask if there were any. Indeed there were. So, looking over the specials we see that there is also a second Moscato to pick from and it is cheaper. We had a delicious appetizer and then I did order one of the specials. Had to ask for bread. Had to ask for water. When the dinners came they were both room temperature, not hot. Now the manager did offer to warm them up but by that time we didn't want to wait. They were delicious.....just not hot. Not the usual good service we have come to expect there. read more

I reserved dinner for 2 for my husband's birthday. It was a surprise. I asked for the special little desert for his birthday and asked if I would have to remind the staff. I was told, "No, it will be in the reservation." Great. We arrived. Not only did we have to stand and wait, despite the reservation, while watching others get seated before us (I reminded them I had a reservation....we stood), when it came time to end our meal, no little desert with the candle, despite me reminding the staff at the door that it was my husbands birthday. Just a check. When I complained, the manager said, "Please come back." Why? I can get better service elsewhere. Very very disappointed. I expect better from a restaurant of this caliber. I've eaten here about a dozen times. The food is always very well prepared and presented nicely. The portions leave you a bit unsatisfied however. The waiters are always very friendly and eager to offer suggestions and assistance when describing the menu options. A bit noisy and crowded however. Definitely could use either less tables or they need to expand. read more

Bonefish has a reputation in our area for being an upscale chain; decent but overpriced. Having heard about the bang bang shrimp, trying it was a must. The whole family loved it though I wouldve liked a little more kick. My meal was very good but my parents were disappointed by the lump crab cakes being incredibly tiny for such a high price. Overall, its a good place but it is very expensive. Luckily we had a gift card, otherwise it would have been more disappointing. read more

I ordered the special with various seafood. 10 to 15 minutes into our waiting the manager came and informed me they were out of this special. we arrived a little after 5 pm and they were out of this special. i then ordered crab cakes, not 1 but 2 . After we waited 40 to 50 minutes our meals came. My crab cakes tasted nothing like crab!!!! My mashed potatoes were hard as a rock and veggies were raw and not warm. My husband 's meal was not at all tasty. We should have sent all back but we were so hungry we ate these gross meals. The waitress and manager knew we were upset because we were constantly asking about where our meals were. We were offered a free dessert, no thank you bonefish grill, never again . The food here is really good. Had the bang bang shrimp app. and the Maryland crab cake sandwich , my wife ate the tilapia imperial. Everything was impeccable, the service was great my only complaint was the waitress pass by my empty glass of water several times before she realized it and filled it again. But that's really minor. We were seated fast, the appetizer came out quicker than any appetizer I have ever ordered in my life and the main dishes were equally fast to the table. So in short I recommend this place read more

I love the atmosphere here and I love the food. The fish is great and I love the different sauces you can get. The only reason I give it 4 stars is because my husband always says the portions aren't big enough. I think because the meals aren't packed with filling carbs like most restaurants. For me that is perfect, for him not so much. I do recommend Bonefish Grill. read more

Thanks, but no thanks. Yelp: why no option for ZERO stars? Overpriced, small portions, and less than adequate service. The layout and acoustics of restaurant are horrendous, and it gets so loud you can't have a conversation with the person next to you in the DR. Have a reservation? Forget it, unless you are off-hour on a Tuesday evening. Like most sheepy chain restaurants, they ALWAYS overbook then you end up waiting in an awkward & uncomfortable 'lobby' area while they constantly tell you "just 15 more minutes". And the crowd anymore is just a bunch of whiney look-at-me HM's. If this is the experience you are looking for, then have fun! read more

Worst server I've ever had!!! Laura C. My husband and I chose to dine at Bone Fish Bel Air location for our Valentine's Day dinner and we had the worst server. Her name is Laura C.! She just gave us the menu and said this is the menu and didn't explain the nights specials. However, we noticed she took the time out to explain the details of the nights menu to the surrounding tables. She treated us so differently, she was so friendly to all the others around us. Maybe she has a problem with people of color I don't know. When we went to pay I gave her my gift card and when she returned to the table she loudly told us that our card was declined. Mind you we were using a never used gift card. She was swiping the gift card as a credit card I assume because the declined slip she showed had the balance on it. She apparently didn't know what she was doing because we went right to another store where we used the same card and it was accepted. We always enjoy eating at Bone Fish, the food is great and the waiters and waitresses are always helpful. We would dine there again, but we do not want Laura C. as our waitress! read more

We've been to Bonefish Grille in Bel Air multiple times. We have two kids and they love the bang bang shrimp (and being able to color on the paper tablecloth. This place has a fine dining feel but it is kid friendly. My wife and I have had many of the menu items and have never been disappointed. Whether it's just the two of us for 'Date Night' or at the request by one of the kids for their birthday, this place is always a winner. read more

Part of a large group (15 or so) for lunch today. Very long wait for our food. My total bill was small, $7.32 and I paid with a $10 bill. Was planning to leave $1.00 bill $0.68 cents for a tip and get $1.00 back. Waitress took it upon herself to keep all of the change. Did not ask if I wanted any change back. Was not able to hang around and ask for my change since I was riding with others. It may be a small amount to complain about, but the point is that the CUSTOMER determines the tip, not the waitress. read more

Love going to Bonefish mainly to have bang Shrimp. Went yesterday (Monday) to have dinner and the $5 martini. Since the $5 martini was not on the menu as being $5 for Mondays in June, I asked the waiter who said yes they were $5 but they did not advertise it (I get emails from Bonefish frequently and had gotten one Monday morning about the $5 martini's). When the bill came I was charged full price over $9. The man I was with did not want to have it corrected, but I feel we should not have to have something corrected but should be charged correctly in the first place, I will go back but will check my bill before the waiter leaves my table. read more

I am a frequent patron of Bone Fish Grill's throughout the MD, DC, and VA area and this was by far the worst I have visited. On a crowded Friday night, it took 60 minutes to get a table for 2, which is not the source of my complaint. My complaint is that it took 45 minutes to get our entrees after ordering them. To put it in perspective, the table to our left had a party of 5, they ordered AFTER us, and received their food 15 minutes before us. The table to our right had a party of 2, were seated AFTER us, ordered AFTER us, and received their food 20 minutes BEFORE us. When I found our suddenly absent waiter, he said the kitchen was backed up (but apparently not for the tables on either side of us). After 10 more minutes of waiting, I informed the manager who went to the kitchen to check on our food. He came out 5 minutes later with our food (magically), gave a half-hearted apology, and slapped two coupons down on the table for some complimentary bang-bang shrimp. He and the waiter seemed unconcerned by our issue, so unfortunately, our 4% tip reflected our distaste for this attitude. Totally disappointed with the way this was handled. Guess I'll think about another place to eat before Bone Fish next time. read more

I ordered take out from this location and was told that it would be ready in forty minutes. We frequent the Glen Burnie, MD, location, but moved to Bel Air. I loved the food and service at our old location, so I thought I'd try this one. When I arrived to pick up my food, I was told that it wasn't ready. After waiting for twenty-five minutes, I again asked about my order. One of the hostesses said she would check on it, and came back with the kitchen manager a few minutes later. He told me that he was sorry, but they had run out of the fish that I had ordered. I informed him that I had been waiting for twenty-five minutes, and that I had placed my order over an hour ago, and it was very inconsiderate that they informed me of this only now. A woman who identified herself as the manager approached us. In a very dismissive attitude, she essentially stated that it wasn't the restaurant's fault. I asked for a refund of our four entrees and left with a very sour taste in my mouth. I had waited for over an hour for our food, and had two hungry children and husband who were also frustrated by our poor treatment. That is definitely not the way that restaurants should treat their customers. read more
