We were in Clearwater for a week went to al the nicer restaurants on our last night picked bonefish and couldn't have ended our trip on a higher note! From start to finish the food was spot on. Bang bang shrimp always great but ordered crab cakes and every restaurant should prepare their crab cakes like the ones I enjoyed this evening!! Salad was crisp and served on ice cold plate temperature on the rainbow trout was perfect and ended the dinner with the coconut pie delicious! To top it off couldn't beat the price!!! Sure isn't what it used to be. New managers and staff. When we didn't get any bread, we asked, and the server told us it was upon request only. Actually overheard the manager telling a server not to ask the customer if they wanted bread, to wait and see if they asked for it. Managers strolled up and down the aisles like guards in a prison. It was unnerving, not enjoyable at all. Food was good, but the ambiance is gone completely. Server rushed us through our meal and took away plates before we were done. The prices are good here, especially for their prix fixe menu on Tuesdays, which includes salad, entree with a couple of sides and a dessert. I had a lobster tail (tasty but over cooked), the house salad (decent and not overdressed), potatoes (good), sugar snap peas (tortured almost beyond recognition) and a strawberry shortcake (meh) - all for under $20, but I'm not certain I came out ahead in that one. They have plenty of drinks on the menu, however, so the food improves over time. The restaurant is extremely noisy (conversation is difficult, so don't use them for date night), but the service is very good. In general, I tend to eat at other places since I am always underwhelmed by the food - although if you like very sweet and girly martinis, this is the place for you. Over all? They really pack them in here on a regular basis, so they are doing something right apparently. I just wish someone would tell me what it is - the food is just (barely) average to me. read more

First of all, I want to say that the food was very good. My recommendation would be to skip any addition of the $4 "Oscar Style" to your entree. It consisted of 4 small pieces of crabmeat, each the approximate size of half of a garlic clove. Save your $. My problem on this visit was with the service. We entered the restaurant and walked up to the hostess stand. Before I could say a word to the young man standing there, a young female employee came from the restaurant, obviously leaving for the day. The host ignored us while he flirted with the young woman. Once she left, he greeted us and we were seated. Our server was polite, but she forgot to bring my husband's soft drink. She also forgot the side of mayonnaise that he had asked for when he ordered his meal. After dropping off our food, she disappeared for a long period of time even though the restaurant was not at all busy. My husband had nearly completed his meal by the time she came back to see if we needed anything. At the prices this restaurant charges, I expect better service. I always enjoyed going to Bonefish, for lunch and dinner.But after having guests from out of town, the food was terrible I will not go back. The staff was wonderful but not much you can do if the food was not up to par. My husband and guest both had a steak they both ordered them rare and came back med rare.Returned the steaks brought new ones our guest did not want to complain it still was not cooked properly. My husbands rib eye was rare..but Yuk ! It was grainy and stringy ,every time he cut a piece he had a string of meat. He did not eat it and of course we didn't have to pay. But we were so embarrassed. We will not go back..I have been in Florida for 50 years and I should have taken them to Long Horn Steak house...Their steaks are always fantastic at that restaurant. But, I wanted a little more ambiance I got it and the food was terrible ! I had trout lite and it sure was lite I had about three bites and that was it. Sad, such a nice restaurants and going down the tubes. Besides having a table right beside the kitchen. Although Bonefish Grill is always packed with customers, it's a restaurant that I can pass on easily. It's a chain that has good food, but nothing to rave about. According to my friends, the Bang Bang Shrimp cannot be beat for its price or taste! I will just have to take their word for it since I have a shrimp allergy. That being said, I think they make great cocktails, particularly Moscow Mules and Cosmos of variety. I have also had tasty Mahi Mahi dishes there and the dinner bowls have always been good. As I've said, I can easily pass on Bonefish, however, I find others love it, so I go there only when friends are celebrating a special occasion, but never by choice. Maybe it has something to do with the sushi tacos (ahi tuna) I had there. They were so fishy that I still shudder whenever I think about them. Considering this is Florida and fish is abundant, there are many other nearby places to eat where the food is better, and often less expensive! read more

I had them hold the light dusting of Parmesan Cheese which probably contributed to the tastelessness of my sandwich. Went to Bonefish for a nice Sunday dinner. Arrived just before noon. There were two or three other parties in the restaurant - so it wasn't crowded. The host seated my husband and I in a booth next to a large party that was having brunch. There was another party a few tables behind us with what I figured were girlfriends having brunch as well - and one brought their baby because I could hear it fussing. We asked the host if we could move to a quieter table and the host moved us ONE table away from the large party and closer to the other party with the baby. While waiting for our server, the mother took her baby to the booth behind us and it appeared that she was changing the baby's diaper in the booth. We decided to ask our server to move us to another table, but the server never appeared. We noticed two servers talking close to the kitchen doors, but none appeared at our table. After waiting 10 minutes, we left and went to another restaurant - a little more casual but even with the music playing and the extremely high ceilings, it was much more quiet than the Bonefish restaurant we just left. We ordered a blackened fish dinner, like we would have at Bonefish, but it was a HUGE portion and didn't cost as much. Hmmm - not sure when (or if) we'll return to this Bonefish. read more

one of the worst bartenders I have ever saw argued with a customer at the bar when a waitress asked the bartender if they had rye whiskey, the bartender said no ....the customer sitting at the bar pointed out Canadian Club and Segram 5 star and Crown Royal whiskey and said to bartender they are all from Canada and are made from rye...they are rye whiskey's. Bartender said NO they are not. Later I watched the same bartender make fun of the customer with other people ..he said to them you can tell he is "Canadian"...does not know booze. We were looking for great seafood on our first night in Belleair Beach and after not being able to get into a couple of the popular local restaurants, we ended up here where we were very pleasantly surprised. We started with an order each of calamari and coconut shrimp. The calamari is some of the best I've had, perfectly cooked, not greasy and served with an excellent Asian style dipping sauce. The coconut shrimp were fantastic too. The don't butterfly them like most places so the shrimp are allowed to get nice and crunchy without overcooking. They drizzled a little sauce over them, not a lot so they stayed nice and crunchy. The shrimp were very large and a great deal for 6 at around $10. For entrees, I had the pecan and parmesan crusted rainbow trout and outside of missing a few grains of salt it was perfectly cooked and presented. Really delicious and crunchy with just the right amount of sauce. My girlfriend had grilled Thai scallops which she loved. Everything was plated beautifully, piping hot and the service from our server Ryan was great. We thought we were "settling" for a chain restaurant and it turned out to be the best meal by far we had during out stay. read more

Went on a Saturday night at 7:30 with a party of 4. We were told it would be a 20 minute wait and I went to the bar to to get cocktails for our party. When I went to take the drinks to them they were already seated in the area near the bar, we were not told at the door about any seating option. When they brought our bread out we had no utensils for butter. When our dinners came out, one order was wrong they said they would send a manger out, never did, we had no salt or pepper at the table. No baked potato on menu, all meals are served with Spaghetti squash no choice of vegetable. Won't go back!! read more

Cooked way to long, got about 5 decent shrimp in the whole batch. Management carried on a quite loud conversation with a customer behind me that was a very big distraction and rude. we are regulars having moved to Seminole in June and we try to make Wednesday for bang bang shrimp on Wednesday and eat at the bar. It is always crowded but when we first started coming we could get a drink and wait foir a seat with no problems. the last two times, we have waited over 15minutes to have our drink order taking at the bar. Then last Wednesday it took 45 minutes to get our appetizer and another 45 minutes to get my salad before the entrée. We called the manager over because I had just bough a large number of gift certificates for our clients for x mas. we explained that 90 minutes to be served an entrée after being seated was not acceptable. The waiter we had was surly and we felt he had intentionally lost our order. the manager comped our dinner as he recognized not only as regulars but by the fact that I had bought a large number of gift cards from him a month earlier. I like the location, but I really think there needs to be an increase in the quality and quanity of servers in the bar on Wednesdays. read more

Typical chain restaurant whose food lacks flavor. Our waiter was super friendly & knowledgeable about the dinner menu, and everyone else was dressed very well & professional. It's unfortunate the kitchen is in the back & all the takeout food has to be run through the restaurant to the front for each order. Lot's of foot traffic by our table (recommend sitting in the bar area). We ordered fish tacos & one of the special Grouper platters. Unfortunately, the fish tacos were 4 times more flavorful than the Grouper & half the price. Luckily we had a coupon for $10 off our purchase. I always enjoyed going into bonefish in belleair. sometimes twice a week. I took my brother in a week ago. He was visiting from NC following brain surgery, chemo and radiation . We sat at the bar. ordered a drink. He was impaired after the brain surgery and lost cognitive skills and lose of vision in one eye and was having a hard time reading the menu. the bar tender stood directly in front of him put his head on the bar and started shaking in disgust at my brothers lack of timing I guess. then he picked Stuarts drink up off the bar and continued to tell him that he had had enough to drink when actually that was his second drink of the night. Stuart was so embarrassed that the bartender treated him, a 53 year old that had been through all he had been thru, treated him like a child in front of his little sister. We got up and walked out, as we were walking out the barmaid tells us she is sorry and that everyone has a bad day every now and then. I say, "bonefish of belleair bluffs, shame on you and your bartenders. I will never, and I will tell everyone this story, ever ever walk into your establishment again. We patronize Bonefish frequently, and were expecting the same service/quality that we have been accustomed to.. Not tonight. Our server, 'D', delivered our menus, gave us time to look them over, and then we ordered. I ordered a cup of lobster bisque for before my meal, and I ordered one of the 'Tuesday lobster specials' off the 'Tuesday menu'. To quote, it was a lobster BLT, served with fries. it sounded perfect to me. Our table's appetizer of calamari arrived, then fifteen minutes later, our main courses arrived.. No lobster bisque. I mentioned this to the server, and he agreed to bring it 'on the house'. At this point, I didn't really want that, since my main course had already arrived. Also, noted that my sandwich had been served with a small side of salad.. No fries. By the time I flagged down 'D', our waiter, and asked if this was supposed to come with fries, he said.. Well, if you want fries, you have to REQUEST fries! WHAT? fries was the only side listed on the menu with this particular entree... And, now, you have to REQUEST them? Check out their Tuesday Lobster menu... There are no 'choices' mentioned! I will NOT be going back! Just the principal. read more
